Honestly, I was a bit underwhelmed by my visit here. My party sat outside which was nice, overlooking the golf course and getting some fresh air. We tried the Scotch egg to start which was pretty good. I opted for the pulled pork mac and cheese as my main course. Although it was tasty in general, it was very heavy on the bbq/pulled pork flavor. If I didn't know it was supposed to be a mac and cheese I would have never guessed. The cheese flavor was unidentifiable. It was more like bbq pulled pork pasta to me. It tasted fine, basically ok, but it just wasn't what I was expecting and was a letdown when I was expecting "mac and cheese." If I lived closer I'd maybe give it another shot but since this is pretty far from my neighborhood I really can't imagine going out of my way again to dine here. read more

We went here for Valentine's Day and had a 5:30pm reservation. We got seated right away but took about 20 minutes before the waitress greeted us and provided us with menus. The staff was friendly and nice but it was quite slow. We put our son's order right away but it did not come out until after we finished our appetizers . We got the clams casino which was good and bacon wrapped scallops which were okay. The kids' macaroni and cheese was okay but definitely needed salt and our 3-year-old son had trouble with the noodles since they were so large. The sirloin we ordered was requested to be medium rare and it was definitely overcooked but the mashed potatoes were good that came with it. The baked stuff shrimp were delicious! The lobster ravioli was good! The chocolate cake was okay, a little dry but I felt the tiramisu was better. The beer list is okay. Overall, this place is a solid choice in Richmond. Multi visit review by a local. We just discovered Alaina's Ale House in 2020 after attending one of their private coursed and paired chef dinners. The french inspired menu at the coursed dinner was delicious and the executive chef was so charismatic and passionate about food we had to try his restaurant Alaina's Ale House. The restaurant has an extensive variety of British/ Irish staples. We loved the Scotch Egg and I had it on the Cobb Salad so I could feel a little healthier because this food is rich !! We also tried the fish and chips, which was executed well and not overly breaded. We have also tried the Guiness Stew and Alaina's Burger. So Yum! You also must try the jumbo tots! Five to an order so even number parties will have to fight it out for an extra. My husband felt the blue cheese overpowered the Steak Tips but if you are a Gorgonzola fan you won't have issues with this. The chowder also doesn't make my top 5 in Rhode Island but its rich and tasty. Definitely worth a visit and keep on eye on their website for their specialty themed course dinners! Excellent food and service. Stopped in on Sunday night. The restaurant is set up well for Covid protocols, with plenty of table spacing and partisans. Our server Jenn was great as was the entire friendly staff. Shepards Pie served in a cast iron skillet was outstanding as was the Irish Cordon Bleu, prepared with corned beef, mushroom sauce, mash potatoes and perfectly prepared and seasoned baby carrots. Asked the server to credit my card for the order as I did not want it anymore. Went to the register to take care of the cancelled order and they brought out the order. I was to angry to accept the food at that point and just had the manager credit my card. What a waste of my time. Manager said it was busy, well then don't tell people it would be ready. Will never order there again. Alaina's has great food and nice seasonal additions to their menu. They also have really wonderful unique appetizers and bangin' salads. Their Beet Salad is fantastic! Each dish is always made the same no matter how many times you get it or who's in the kitchen, which is nice. Alainas has been a staple choice in our weekly eat out schedule for years. The only complaint I have is on a recent seasonal addition which was a ravioli entree served with various vegetables. The entree tasted great but was 18+ dollars and came with only 7 SMALL ravioli. I was stunned when I saw the portion but had ordered to-go and couldn't question if there was a mistake or take it back. If I had known how small this supposed entree was, then I would have NEVER spent 18+ bucks on something that puny. Rare lapse is what's otherwise a very great tasty restaurant. read more

Came back here again with my husband. Several specials to choose. We started with the shepherds pie fritters appetizer with onion gravy. Great portion sizes and delicious. We ordered drinks first: Expresso Martini & the Spicy Grapefruit MargarIta which were perfectly prepared. The house infused jalapeño tequila was very present in the margarita. I enjoyed the St. Paddy's Burger special with corned beef, swiss cheese and thousand island dressing and crisp french fries. She was extremely rude and disrespectful to this guest who was simply asking to have her party sit together as they do every Thursday after playing golf. She even went as far as screaming ,again from across the dining room that she would call the police. This woman needs to work on her people skills and common decency and manners. I really couldn't decide between a 3 or a 4 but this place is better than a 3. I'd give it a 3.5 if it were possible. We opted to dine here on a Saturday night when the original restaurant we were going to go to was shut down due to a power outage. It seemed everyone going to that other restaurant came here. There was a pretty long wait but the management was very nice about keeping us informed about when our table would be ready. Once seated we ordered. The menu has the usual pub food but with an Irish flair. They have sheppard's pie, bangers and mash, that sort of fare. I ordered a salmon sandwich with a coleslaw mayo sauce and fries. It was very good and came out hot. The beer selection could be better for an ale house. I would have liked to see more NE brews and drop the big lagers. Went here for dinner last night with family. Maybe it was a coincidence but being from out of town it will likely be my last trip here. After waiting a very long time for a table (I know it happens) we were finally seated. Our waitress took our drink order right away & fairly quickly took our food order, then disappeared. I ordered the Rueben sandwich. We had VERY HUNGRY children with us as we watched another table, who were seated after us, receive their food. When our food finally came out my Rueben did not look the least bit appetizing. It was served on untoasted marble rye, with a thick slab of corned beef that looked cooked to death. The sauerkraut on it had no flavor (old) & there was very little cheese. I did eat half of it because I was hungry by that time but I couldn't even get the other half down. Thankfully the fries were a bit better so I ate those. I will not be back. I've had great food in this area but this dinner was a bust. read more

Went for breakfast and was surprised that we could sit out on the porch!! Pretty view of golf course even covered in snow. They have heaters and plastic covering so it was warm enough. Breakfast was delicious!! Nice generous portion of crispy bacon, eggs done to our liking. I love the home fries because they're crispy and not overly seasoned like some places. Overall it's a nice comfortable atmosphere and very clean, hand sanitizer everywhere. We'll be back to try the dinner menu soon. The host and server were very friendly and efficient. read more

Alaina's has done a phenomenal job during the covid pandemic. They quickly figured out how to stay open and deliver their amazing meals curbside. Even as restaurants reopen Alaina's understands some families are at higher risk and have continued to support online ordering with curbside delivery. Our meal last night was perfection! For our entree, I ordered the drunken chicken and my friend ordered the sweet n smoky salmon. Both the chicken and the salmon were not tasty. Another good find on Yelp. We were nearby at my daughters softball tournament and need to find some place close for lunch. The restaurant is located at a golf course. We were there at noon on Saturday. The place was not crowded. The servers were very friendly and the service was quick. We ordered the stuffed tatertots and the shepherd pie balls. Both were excellent although I'll give the nod to the tatertots. My wife and I split the Irish Cobb salad. This came with a scotch egg. The salad was excellent with the lemon vinaigrette dressing. This place has the best food! We came here with family and even though there was only outside seating, we had a lovely time. We sat next to a fire pit on the outside patio and had a great view of the course. The food here was seriously amazing! My brother said the steak and potatoes wasn't the greatest and wasn't worth $24 however I had the Shepherds pie and it was delicious. The fish and chips were some of the best I've ever had and I took a bite out of my sister in laws Pulled pork Mac and cheese and it was tasty! We have been here many times but the first was post covid. It's a little bit of ride from where we live but we weren't working so why not take the ride. I had never been here before but had seen a few times during covid they gave out meals to anyone Who needed one. What a great thing to do for the community. I'm glad we ventured there as we have been a few times since the first and every time is a great experience. It's on a golf course and If you are there at night there is a lot of deer and other cute animals to see scoot by. The inside reminds me of a very homey place. The food itself taste like home. They Have a lot of comfort food , Mac and cheese is my favorite. The menu is a good size so there is something for everyone. Service is excellent. They were unprepared to handle the volume. We were seated outside and by 800pm, it was dark outside and we asked for our food to go. We received our food to go and it was over cooked and cold. I've been here 3 times and each time it's even better than the last! Today they had Mexican street corn and poutine for appetizer specials. So good - the poutine was a huge portion with beef, Irish beer cheese, bacon and gravy. The corn was so delicious had to order another. Had every intention of ordering dinner but the portions were so large settled on just the apps. The staff is wonderful and friendly and they have a nice selection of food. Ok, I'm always a tough reviewer but this time I have little to complain about based on two recent experiences here. This is a brand new restaurant, we went twice during their opening week and found the place to be 'the real deal'. It's Irish inspired fare in a pub atmosphere. I had fish and chips the first time and a braised beef and scalloped potato sandwich my second visit-both were really great! The corned beef tater tots were delicious, very filling though so beware. My Dad had the Shepard's Pie and loved it, couldn't finish which was very unusual because he's from the 'clean your plate' generation. read more

I stopped in here on a whim. I was in the process of looking for a wedding venue and a graduation was at URI so I swung through. It's nice out in the back had some games and the tent. Noticed it was to small for the amount of people I needed so halted pursuing this as a venue. BUT I still checked into the small packed bar and ordered a drink and some food.
