A classic beach bar with live music. What could be better? Good drinks. But Eat somewhere else.

1st time there. Besides being ocean front , it's really nothing special , the bar seams run down , old celebrity photos that are so nasty they need to be thrown away . We ordered our food and then they wanted us to move tables to accommodate what looks like the hostess friends , we said no . I ordered the calamari appetizer , wasn't anything special . Thank goodness they have hot sauces at the table . My GF got the cheeseburger and chips , she liked it, looked like she had a hard time eating it , was falling apart . The ocean view fixes most problems . And that's really all it's got going for it . read more

Had breakfast indoor with an incredible view. Service was great. We all had omelettes. One was the Fisherman's omelette with veggies (side of Hollandaise sauce) and two custom omelettes. The potatoes were very delicious and the English muffins were grilled to perfection. We all recommend. read more

Ocean Mist is a Rhode Island staple! It has gorgeous views, even in the winter! The food is pretty much what you'd expect from bar food. Nothing to write home about but solid. This is a must go to if you are in the area, and I'll drive over an hour to come here for breakfast. It's dive-y in the best of ways! Great drinks, and you cannot beat the view. Get there early, 930 on a Sunday and we had a wait for 2, managed to get a seat right away at the bar. read more

We were there for lunch with a large group and I talked to her about a sweatshirt that I have been trying to purchase for years now (WUTANG). Beautiful location, of course. Third World Band performed without the Cat. Busy place. Typical tavern food. Premium drinks were weak. The place is dirty! The bathrooms have new toilets with shower curtains for doors. The entrance leads to a sink with no walk around space for traffic flow. Toilet paper not replaced and bin overflowing. Honestly, the venue should clean up its act. I realize it is peak season, but, do the work. When the season comes to a close, get it done! 40$ ticket, 30$ merch, 40$ bar bill, 10$ parking for one long distance guest. Many people know Ocean Mist for the all the music bands that come here which are awesome. I went here with my family for breakfast. The view of the ocean while eating breakfast is so awesome. There is outside and inside seating. Our waitress Sara was amazing. We enjoyed looking at all the stickers people have placed over the years. I had the eggs Benedict classic but they have many versions to choose from. My kids got an omelette and Texas French toast which both devoured. My husband loved their corned beef hash. Great beachy vibing atmosphere!! Gorgeous views and a deck that goes down to a rocky beach area-so cool to hear the waves washing over the rocks. Had the fish tacos and they were delish! Refreshing and tasty. My cousin had the fish and chips and she loved it. Got the passion fruit lemonade-it was ok but could have used some more fruit/flavoring it was too bland and watery. Ocean Mist has always been one of my favorite spots for live music -- it's that perfect mix of bar, restaurant, and beachside venue. I've been going there for years to catch bands and soak in the fun, laid-back atmosphere. During a recent staycation at East Matunuck Beach, I decided to try their breakfast for the first time with my mom, since I'd heard good things. I ordered scrambled eggs with the sweet potato black bean hash, which also came with toast and home fries. The hash was a bit of a miss for me -- it was really mushy purée and heavy on spices like cumin and chipotle, which overpowered the dish. The home fries were just deep-fried potato chunks with no real seasoning or flavor. I personally prefer home fries that are cooked on the grill. That said, the omelette the woman next to me had looked amazing, so I haven't given up on their breakfast just yet. Ocean Mist 5 stars...Ocean Mist breakfast at this moment 3 stars has too much going for it to judge on one plate -- I'll definitely be back for round two. read more

Classic local spot recommended by a local to these tourists. We found an amazing panoramic ocean view - the waves literally break under the patio deck. Cranston Thug Life Hazy IPA on draft from Providence was excellent as was their cocktail Coffee With Love. Lots of local craft beers to choose from. The breakfast menu is available till 2 pm. Jose's Benny eggs Benedict with Chipotle Hollandaise is a winner. read more

We were in town for the URI Homecoming game and the guys wanted to get together at one of their old haunts. I could not imagine being a college kid and having this place as one of the usual places you go to meet up with friends! Life was so tough for these guys! I had a couple Bloodies...they were spicy and delicious. For lunch I ordered the Chicken Parm over penne pasta and hubby got a Cheese Burger. The food is outstanding here. Not at all what I thought a dive bar would serve! The staff were all super friendly, I mean, how can you not have a great attitude with this view and amazing co-workers? We were pleasantly surprised by this local hot spot and dive! The drinks are strong, the live music is infectious, and the crowd is lively yet respectful. We enjoyed both brunch and late night music here. The brunch was hearty - they recommend the "Coffee with Love" which is a boozy iced coffee and a house special "for as long as they can remember". We ate the California Eggs Benedict and the Breakfast Tacos - and enjoyed their wide array of hot sauces to try! This place is my jam.... Any chance I can talk the hubs into going, we are there. This year we celebrated NYE and my birthday here, that's how addicted I am. From brunch to Monday night Bingo, the O Mist does it right. In the AM I recommend the jungle pile up, essentially nachos with eggs. If not that, their bennies are delicious. This place is a mood all into itself. It is decidedly dive-y, yet the food is really good... especially for brunch. I had an absolutely humongous omelette that was cooked to perfection, meaning, no runny, yucky stuff in the middle. I also cannot say enough about the Bloody Marys. They were dangerously good. Our server was a little bit grumpy, but somehow his curtness matched the mood of the place and was not troublesome. And if you are lucky enough to get a seat by the window, the ocean view cannot be beat. Pro tip: if you have to use the ladies room, bring a couple of paper napkins with you. The vibe is relaxed beach dive bar ish. The staff is friendly and attentive. The food is reasonably priced and decent. The menu is standard beach bar food. We sat at the bar today and watched as they made drinks and saw that they pour a good drink which is nice because a lot of places water it down and over charge. They always have all kinds of activities and live music. The view is unbeatable as O Mist is right on the water. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I always feel comfortable here. Now there are in my mind only two real cons... The first con is that parking can be a bit nightmarish but if you aren't cheap like me you can pay to park which is a bit easier. When it's really busy expect that you'll have a hard time parking tho. The second con is the women's bathroom. It's always been clean when I go in there but the entire bathroom is so small for the size of the bar. Which means the stalls are tiny and your face is practically up against the door/shower curtains and that kinda grosses me out a bit. Other than those two things I think it's a fun place. read more

Hey how could I have not reviewed the Ocean Mist, I've been going here for year, mostly for breakfast and lunch. It's your basic beach bar that had bands at time, mostly in the evening, big bar inside, and a fair amount of patio seating and an excellent view of R.I. sound, on a car day you can see Block Island too! I like the omelets here and especially like the breakfast in general, my only complaint is the ice coffee is only barely ok. For lunch the seafood tacos are excellent. Service is good and prices moderate. Go here and experience it before it falls into the ocean! read more

I took a half day and we packed up the kids and we went! I did previously make a reservation - very easy off their website. I was very unsure what I was walking into... We were seated inside along the window overlooking the deck and the ocean. Kudos on the view! As a parent there are no high chairs and forget space to change a child in the bathrooms. But let's talk about the ladies room. 3 toilets. Two stalls clearly used to have doors that have broken and are now replaced with curtains. The curtains had to have been the cheapest of the cheep somewhere. But they made me laugh- they had bible quotes on them! Our waitress was nice and did a good job. I had a Del's alcoholic beverage. it was way more alcohol than Del's flavor but that's the type of place this is. This is a place to cut loose, relax and have a good time. The music- easy listening hits from yesteryear. Put you in a good mood. I had a pulled pork sandwich. It was messy as hell but it was tasty. And all you condiment lovers out there- Ocean Mist has the good blue cheese! The place looks unfinished but the vibe is chill and people are happy so yes to it all! When the waitress, (didnt catch her name)covered head to toe in tattoos and with blond hair pulled into a messy bun approached, we were not ready. We asked for a moment and she heaved an audible aggravated sigh, turned on her heel and stomped off. Now normally I give people the benefit of the doubt but today I said screw that and we left. We know people have bad days but come on, when you work with the public you need to put n a poker face sometimes and smile through it. Totally rude and unprofessional behavior. We walked about 20 paces down the street and went to a place called The Pub where we were treated with super friendly service, great food and reasonable prices. The bar has a lot of character. It's nice to see places that are unique & a local institution. The outdoor area in the summer is an absolute must as you are right on the water. They offer fun & different cocktails & also include a solid selection of national & local beers. The place is never not busy so the service does tend to suffer. The food was alright. The servings are plentiful but I found it hard to eat & generally not overly good but also not bad either. You'll find a good mix of older locals & seasonal college student here. If you are looking for a place with a view - this is the bar you've been looking for. I can't say enough for the view of this place. It's one of the more mesmerizing locations I have had the opportunity to watch the sun set and enjoy some cold beverages with some random people who were equally inviting as the views. However, these types of experiences do not come without a cost. I'm not talking necessarily about the price of the drinks or the food (we browsed but did not eat here), but rather at the cost of overly aggressive tourists and inebriated young males looking to start something. Eventually after a long wait at the bar and attempting to find a seat to take in the views we were able to enjoy our locally crafted brews with some nice locals. We just began chatting with them and they offered us a seat at the 4-top out back they had recently swiped from exiting patrons. Prior to that we were essentially elbowed out of the way of sitting down by 6 aggressive vacationers and run into multiple times by younger males who then became aggressive when asked to kindly watch where they were walking (they almost knocked my wife over). The days of getting riled up by such ridiculousness are far behind me and this location seems to draw this sort of crowd after a long day at the beach. The staff was doing their best to accommodate all of the people, but we waited at the bar (not behind people eating or anything) for over 15 minutes before we were acknowledged and asked if we knew what we wanted to order. This eventually shortened on our 2nd and 3rd visit but to 10ish minutes each time, and maybe a bit longer to get the check. While I can appreciate a laid back atmosphere or not always being in a rush but the wait was not due to that, but rather to just ignoring certain parts of the sizable bar for chunks of time. In the end, I'm glad we waited to watch the sunset here and take in everything that Ocean Mist has to offer. However, it may be a one-and-done kind of experience for us. It is a view that should be experienced by everyone in the area and would probably be a great time if you are into the live music and lively nightlife scene, but those days are a bit behind us. read more

My 2 cousins and my sister-in-law went here for some drinks and apps on the Fourth of July. They ordered the special "Buffalo calamari," chicken tenders as well as some alcoholic beverages. They got 2 drinks each (which is nothing for them) and came back very tipsy. They said they had never experienced anything like it. After about 2 hours of getting home, the 3 of them got very sick. We first thought it was from the drinks, but this was not a one time thing. It ruined our Independence Day celebration. A few years prior, I went here with my boyfriend and our burgers were served gray with a raw texture. We didn't end up eating them. I question the cleanliness of this place. Also, the staff is kind of obnoxious. Needless to say, we are not going back. read more
