Waitress was extremely rude and dismissive. Food was served cold, waitress did not check back after the food was delivered and when she finally came back I gave her my untouched cold plate (she never asked if everything was ok) she said "you want a box" I said no, the food was given to me cold. She said "yeah ok, I'll take it off the bill " I grew up in Matunuck, it definitely is not the way it use to be. This particular older woman (with such a bitchy demeanor) should not be waiting on tables or bartering in what use to be a special place for people that call Matunuck home. read more

We had such a great experience at the Pub for both breakfast at the bar and dinner on the upper deck. This feels like a true hidden gem and local dive with tons of locals and tourists pouring in all day long. The manager Karen was so friendly and attentive, she made my experience excellent by being so kind and warm! For breakfast we enjoyed the fresh coffee (jumbo sized iced coffee seasonal flavor was my choice) and jalapeño bacon egg and cheese on a bagel. For dinner we had to try the local favorite kettle chip baked cod with potatoes, which was the perfect mix of salty and crunchy. read more

But the waitress was kinda bitchy and refused our request to add cheese and bacon to the fries without even asking the back of the house plus we were willing to pay! Great spot. Stopped here yesterday. Nice cozy spot on the water. We sat at the bar and the female bartender was very good. She was welcoming, pleasant, friendly, professional and gave great service. Went for an appetizer and a couple beers. Love going into pubs that have hundreds of police and fire patches on the walls. We had the Irish Nachos. Probably a closer name would be loaded bake potato nachos. They were great, service excellent... why not a five star? Because they have a small restroom that was full. When the guy at the urinal walked out I went in. As I walked in a guy walked out of the crapper and then left the restroom without as much as passing the sink. We did make reservations and were surprised to be seated right Away. They have a lovely deck overlooking the beach and great views of the many surfers! Beautiful breeze and lots of sunshine. Breakfast was delicious!! The avocado toast is a must have. The standard egg, toast, bacon was good too! Service is efficient, upbeat and quick...our server was every attentive. Been coming here for years (seen different owners come and go) and can honestly say it's a wonderful establishment. Down to earth staff, willing to chat your ear off. Very laid back, family like atmosphere with a hint of professionalism. Great food. Never astounding but never worse than good or great. Go for breakfast Saturdays and Sundays. Nothing quite like and Irish iced coffee & eggs w/ bangers. Opens at 8:00am an hour before the Mist and IMO a better time and better food. Spent many nights there enjoying a Guinness during trivia or open mike night. Great place. read more

So this place is a total hole in the wall, and the food is sooooo good. We have tried the frickle burger, tex burger and Tennessee burger, and the caesar wrap. Also, 3 out of 4 of those were fries, and 1 was onions. The fries are the best fries I have ever had in my life. I am not a big fry person. The other one was the onion rings. Everything has been good. My favorite was the Tennessee burger and the caesar wrap. Both with fries. The Pub is super reasonable, aka cheap to me, but I live in MA, and before that, I was in CA. If you are debating between Ocean Mist and The Pub, the food is wayyyyyy better at the Pub. To be honest I get so excited to eat my food that I forget to take a picture. read more

Great food in this relaxed, "dive" bar that is family friendly as well as dog friendly (exterior, lower deck). Breakfast on the weekends is a must, as well as the flounder Rueben (fantastic!- I order it with a side of the horseradish cream sauce- so good!) for lunch or dinner. Staff is friendly, and the water views from the deck are an added bonus. Guinness is always flowing on nitro, so it's nice and creamy and fresh. A true gem in south county. read more

After a long week, it was great to be able to walk over for drinks and dinner, plus they were able to accommodate us earlier than our reservation when we arrived. the chicken fingers were AMAZING. the parm peppercorn sauce was very good too, and i'm a picky eater! the staff is friendly and good at handling the occasional jerk that comes in with their own beer. for a place that most people go to drink, the food is pretty good too. karen the manager is pretty nice too and takes no BS. love her. if i could give the server and my chicken fingers a rate by themselves, i'd give it 7/5. try the chicken fingers!! read more
