Really loved this movie theater. It is a little hard to find but honestly, completely worth the 5,000 steps. It is a gorgeous movie theater with an old school feel - kind of like an Upgraded BlockBuster. The theater itself is small and intimate with about 4 rows max. Food is okay. Service is decent. They are very serious about time and their no phone policy so be punctual and no phone usage, even if you want to place an order like the QR code suggests!

Don't go here, worst experience ever! Not only will they make you miss your movie chasing down the food you ordered, the staff will be rude and laugh at you, literally! Went to the back to track the Food I had been waiting for 45 minutes to find staff sitting in front of my food just hanging out. I had the worst experience by far, used to recommend this place, now I would never invite anyone here again! Please don't waste your time! By far the worst experience ! Save your money and time! The woman at the front desk Laughed at me and called the manager "to apologize" because as she stated, she doesn't care. Disgusting! I came here countless times. NEVER AGAIN! Don't waste your time! They're careless, inconsiderate and ghetto!

Still a nice facility to see a movie but seems to be now severely understaffed and understocked. Went to see Mission Impossible- The Final Reckoning (good movie). We arrived 30 minutes before the movie start time and were quickly ready to put in our food and drink order. There was only one server assigned to the packed theater and she wasn't able to take our order until after the movie started. The server was friendly and doing her best but it was just too many customers for her to cover. To add to this, we ordered one of the special Macaroni and Cheese dishes that Alamo had added to the menu especially for this movie and we were told during the movie that they were sold out of Macaroni and Cheese! This was at a showing on the evening of the official opening night and they were already sold out - disappointing. We have been to Alamo Drafthouse a number of times and this was definitely not the experience that we are used to having.

Always fun to watch a movie and be served food at the same time. The service is always pretty good and the seats are great. I have watched a couple movies here and even come to watch a ufc fight. I recommend for sure.

I'm no stranger to the Alamo Drafthouse brand. Ever since they first entered the NY Metro market in 2013 with the opening of the Yonkers location, I have been a fan. While I do not patron the aforementioned location as much as I used to (mainly due to programming, which is a separate topic), I still believe they deliver an elevated moviegoing experience and as such, hold a season pass. Anyway, there was a limited release I really wanted to see and noticed that only the Lower Manhattan location was showing it. Since my work schedule allowed it, I booked a ticket and made my way downtown. Drafthouse sets itself apart from other theater brands by showing a mix of classic, independent, and blockbuster films. Additionally, they have a full menu of food, and have a strict no talking/texting/lateness policy. Like the Brooklyn location, this theater is located in a multi-use complex at 28 Liberty Street a few escalator rides downstairs. As you enter, you're greeted by the box office, a section of merch, and a bar with some seating. Past the box office and down some stairs is a Kim's Video which contains a large selection of media for sale; this is also where the theaters are located. I was seated in theater 1 which had recliners and individual tables at each seat to place food. The theater looked great and has a lot to offer outside of actual film. Overall my experience was similar to that at other Alamos - service was good and all house rules were enforced. While there has been more competition over the years with theaters aiming to elevate the moviegoing experience, Alamo continues to deliver a service that makes me return time after time.

This is such a nice location. I stopped here to watch a screening for a ITV show that will be coming out next month in July 20 25 the staff was able to assist us right away. They were very friendly. The place was really clean. We were seated in theater 11, which is a very small theater with only three rows by the time we had ordered the tickets. There was only the front row that was left. It was a little close to the screen, but well enough to see the screen without an issue. We placed food to eat, and we were able to pay with Apple Pay, which was a big help since we forgot our physical cards at home. This isn't good to know because because we always pay through Apple Pay. This place also has a VHS and DVD rental for old school movies to watch and if you don't have a VHS or DVD cassette you can write one as well for 20 bucks for days. We will be returning to this theater when we are able to because we really want to go through the collection of movies that they had.

We came here to see the Extended Edition of Lord of the Rings: Return of the King. I love seeing epic cinematic classics like this back on the big screen, where it belongs. It was over 4 hours and I still wanted more. I got the bottomless popcorn, chili nachos, and wings. Definitely a very nice evening at the movies.

For specifics, see my prior review. I've never made a big habit of going to the theater for movies because I always end up with jerks sitting next to me. Alamo Drafthouse makes things fun and they don't let the assholes win. I've been a few times, and this the first time someone was talking and texting next to me. They addressed it immediately and explained the rules were strict, and if they didn't stop, they would be removed. I was amazed that at the end of the show, the manager comped one of my drinks and gave me a rain check. This means so much to me! Alamo Drafthouse for life!

I love coming to this location because they have (semi) reclining seats & individual tables (compared to the Brooklyn location). The theater and bathroom is always clean and the wait staff in the theater are attentive and friendly. I had the salted caramel milkshake and popcorn. I have been in love with the milkshake and I get it almost every time I'm at Alamo. Last row still has a great view of the screen!

Second time visiting this location, I like it here because it's quiet, clean, and decent screenings. Comfortable seats and I ordered better food this time. The sweet (can't pronounce the name) cauliflower bite entree. It's served with fries and celery sticks and buffalo ranch (not vegan)/ketchup. I also ordered vegan chocolate chip cookies and seltzer water. It was all delicious but wish they sent order at the beginning of film. I'll do that next time. The servers were prompt and professional. Comfortable reclining seats and not over crowded usually during matinee. The restrooms are gender fluid so be respectful and hit the Alamo for $9 movie Tuesday's.

First off the staff was awesome!! Big L the security, has a good sense of humor, very nice, and helpful. Its dinner + movie in the basement of a building. What a fantastic time. Once you get there is a nice size space. It has games, a bar and a few photo opts. The theater is small but clean and the reclining seats were everything. We got the chicken wings and fries both were tasty. The drinks were ok and little pricey.

Is the movie theater seating area cold?

Hi! It didn't feel cold to me but it's always good to carry something with you just in case

Based on seat map in the app the theaters all look small, 4-6 rows maximum. If you're in the first row, or second row but on the way ends are you too close or will the view from the sides disoriented things?

The staff came across as nonchalant and not very engaged, which set the tone right away. The food didn't help either--the spicy tuna was completely flavorless, not crispy and the drinks were underwhelming. We also weren't told ahead of time that you have to pick up your food and drinks yourself, which was surprising since we're used to full service at your seat. On the positive side, the popcorn and truffle fries were decent, but everything else fell short. The seats were just okay--not particularly comfortable. The bathroom situation was also frustrating--it's located upstairs near the restaurant and wasn't well maintained. There were no paper towels, and overall cleanliness was lacking. Overall, this felt like a subpar experience, and I won't be returning. My cousin mentioned the New Jersey location is much better, so maybe it's just this one--but based on this visit, I wouldn't recommend it.

You may have heard about the successful company that helped destroy movie theaters by pivoting to "content" meant to promote purchases of high-end TVs and nice couches. (Related, I went to Best Buy and didn't recognize anything. Is that a thermostat? A stereo? A smart garden hose?) This company was so successful, that after Knives Out was heralded as single-handedly reviving non-Marvel film, its sequel was withheld from the theaters it allegedly saved. (BTW, if you were planning to tell me to watch the amazing 53-part Quibi streaming series about The Golden Age Of Hollywood, don't bother). But after Netflix helped destroy theaters, it did a nice thing. It's one of those ironic moments like the purse-snatcher scene in Jay Kelly. It signed a lease that helped the Paris avoid the fate of the Ziegfeld and a million others, in a world where the AMC theaters that destroyed all the independents have been suffering themselves. So, while it was vile that Netflix thought Roma should be seen on TVs, it was nice of them to show it at the Paris, especially for the unusually vibrant sound. I saw Train Dreams Saturday. I suppose, like the kid in Squid and The Whale, I am a philistine. I wish I could praise its morose existentialism but I'm not quite on board. However, I did appreciate the majesty of the northwestern fires and falling trees in this venue. There was no assigned seating; not sure if this is just temporary, but if they keep that policy I might be obliged to overlook Netflix's evil and upgrade to 5 stars.

Passes we were told that could be used at any other Regal. The experience starts off with us stating "we're trying to get redeemable tix for the 10pm Obsession" The manager goes, "10pm for that movie? We don't have a 10pm" SPOILER: They had a 10PM showing of Obsession Instead of actually assisting or helping, she pushed back with every question we had - treating us like we were dumb. Claiming it was already redeemed when we knew it wasn't. Making us feel like we were trying to rob the place. Bro paying for the tickets wasn't a big deal, we just wanted to use the redeemable passes we got. Long story short, nothing was redeemed. Manager was more interested in setting an authoritative position rather than assisting customers. We're in communication of Regal customer service online and hoping it gets resolved. Could this have been a redeemable pass error online or at the previous location where we originally got the passes from? Yeah 100%. Is it so hard to say, "Sorry don't know why it's not working properly, could be many reasons. Here's what we can do for you" ??? The Bad: -Like others, I agree that the seats unfortunately are not that comfortable here. This is by far the biggest issue here and it should have been addressed years ago and I doubt it will be soon -They still show the same extremely annoying metal band shirt advertisement with flashing lights that is annoying every single time I go here -The staff here aren't the nicest but it's a movie theater so I can deal with it The Good: -If you're looking for independent films and foreign films, this is one of if not the best theater to go to -The occasional Q&A I'm able to go to such as most recently for Eephus; which was an excellent existential baseball movie; and the Ukrainian documentary Porcelain War last year are always entertaining and interesting and they don't cost more so I would recommend them -If you're looking to see some form films to fill out your Letterboxd Oscar list or perhaps the shorts or something, they show virtually all of them here -They have some fun midnight screenings and other things such as the obligatory The Room and Rocky Horror Picture Show of course There's a few other theaters that I like going to more but there's occasionally films that you really can't find anywhere else. Combine that with the fact that this place is so convenient that I deal with any of the issues here. If they fix the seats, you can preemptively switch this to five stars but for now, it's a four.
