I went to iPic with my cousin to see The Devil Wears Prada 2. I usually go to Alamo Drafthouse, but we decided to try something new--and unfortunately, it was a pretty disappointing experience. The staff came across as nonchalant and not very engaged, which set the tone right away. The food didn't help either--the spicy tuna was completely flavorless, not crispy and the drinks were underwhelming. We also weren't told ahead of time that you have to pick up your food and drinks yourself, which was surprising since we're used to full service at your seat. On the positive side, the popcorn and truffle fries were decent, but everything else fell short. The seats were just okay--not particularly comfortable. The bathroom situation was also frustrating--it's located upstairs near the restaurant and wasn't well maintained. There were no paper towels, and overall cleanliness was lacking. Overall, this felt like a subpar experience, and I won't be returning. My cousin mentioned the New Jersey location is much better, so maybe it's just this one--but based on this visit, I wouldn't recommend it. read more

I went to iPic this past Monday to see the Michael movie. I was mostly there for the "dinner" part of the "dinner and a movie" promise. The setup was exciting - having my own private booth made me feel like i was experiencing something luxurious. Then, the menu arrived. ​Our waitress hit us with the news that most of the menu was unavailable because they had run out of... well, almost everything. It's hard to stay excited about a premium experience when you're basically forced into a "leftovers" draft pick of things you wouldn't normally order. ​Guava Fresca: Actually pretty good! It's zero-proof and gave off a solid spritzer vibe. If only the food kept that same energy. ​The "Shareables": We went with the buffalo wings and the coconut shrimp. The shrimp were surprisingly large, but they showed up without any sauce. Both were fine, I guess? Very generic food court vibes and unmemorable unmemorable. ​Fish & Chips: The chips (fries) were the best part of the meal, which is saying something. The fish had a weird sweetness to it, and the cocktail sauce was aggressively heavy on the cilantro. I'm usually a fan of cilantro, but here it just felt like it was lost and out of place. Also the fish was covered in bread crumbs and not a traditional batter. ​Lobster Roll: This was the biggest heartbreaker. It was generic, bland, and lacked any real flavor. If you're going to charge theater-premium prices for lobster, it should probably taste like something. ​It's disheartening to pay for a "luxury" experience only to be told you can't have 70% of what's on the menu. You won't hate this place, but I would definitely try to see a movie elsewhere. For me, the negative parts where around comfort and service. I got there early and ordered food. It took a little long but not crazy. But they forgot my drink. I pushed the button. After waiting through literally *all* the trailers nobody came. As the movie was starting I finally grabbed a waiter going by. They confirmed I ordered a drink and it looked like it had been forgotten. 10 minutes later the drink comes out, but now 30 minutes later, all my food was cold. The seats are kinda meh. Good afternoon, I have been coming to your theater for years. In fact, my very first movie date with my wife was at this location, which is why I chose it for my son's first movie experience. Unfortunately, this was the most disappointing theater experience I have ever had. I wanted my son to experience the joy and excitement of going to the movies, but instead I left feeling embarrassed, frustrated, and deeply disappointed. Some of the issues we encountered included: * No food was available to order, which took away an important part of the movie-going experience. * Theater #8 had no air conditioning, making the environment extremely uncomfortable. * After the movie started, the theater lights remained on, and I personally had to leave my seat and notify an employee. I paid approximately $70 for what turned out to be the worst theater experience I have ever had. What should have been a special memory with my son became a frustrating and disappointing experience instead. As a longtime customer, I expected much better. This movie theater was within walking distance of my hotel, Fairfield by Marriott Manhattan/Financial District. I purchased my tickets online and breezed in when I arrived. After finding the right theater, it took me a moment to get oriented to the layout. There were no signs letting me know where to go to find my seat. The seats are arranged in pairs within a pod. There was a wall around the 2 seats with entry possible on only one side. There was no marking on the carpet or side of the wall to indicate which row and which seat numbers were within the pod. I accidentally went down the wrong aisle and needed to step into a pod to see which row and seats were there for me to figure out where I needed to go. Within the pod, there are two reclining seats with a table between them. There was one blanket and one menu. The set up is fine when seeing the movie with a friend or date. It was a bit awkward because I was by myself and seated next to a stranger. I pressed the button on the table and ordered a Black Orchard cocktail and a large Popcorn with Butter and Cheddar. The Popcorn came fairly quickly and was tasty. The Black Orchard did not come after waiting about 20 minutes. I finally pressed the button again to get someone to bring it to me. I should have complained but forgot about it once the movie started. The other thing that took away from the experience was that there was a group of friends who thought that they could socialize while the previews were playing. It was very distracting. No one from the establishment ever asked them to quiet down out of respect for the other patrons although there were servers in and out the entire time. This was disappointing. On the third floor there is a bar and restaurant area. The restaurant area was closed when I went up to that floor. First time at this location today to see Superman. Very easy to get to by train. This place is decorated nicely and the theater area is large and fancy compared to the fort Lee location. They even provided a blanket for the premium seats. I wish there were 2 blankets so we didn't have to share but i can't complain too much about that. The experiences are just so inconsistent. Sometimes you get a blanket, sometimes you don't. Most times most of the beer menu isn't offered. If its a bigger/blockbuster film expect longer waits and the service to decline. I think my better experiences here have been during matinees. read more

Ruined Christmas. We bought tickets for Zootopia 2 for the 1:30 p.m show and agreed to this time at the moment of purchase. My husband and I are frequent customers here. We had two orders of fries, buffalo wings and ginger ale. When presented with total, we question the total. We were told 82$. We thought that was high based on the menu. I requested her to come back to explain the bill being the initial receipt on the IPIC app was 64$. She replied, "she made a mistake and put us down for refills." I then received an update bill with a total of about 82$. It stated we had (between the two of us) 5 ginger ales which we didn't have. I believe because it was mentioned to the young lady, the bill was changed. If not mentioned she would have kept the money given to her and only turned the bill in for $64. We gave her a total of 92$. We asked to speak to a manager after waiting for a bit, we were told he was in a meeting. I don't remember the young ladies name but she was training someone today. My friend and I stopped by on a whim while we were in the area on a Monday night in December. The cinema was pretty empty but even then we had trouble getting a private pod seat for Heretic, we were able to get one for We Live In Time. The price for 2 in the pod was around $50 (not counting additional food we bought). Because we still had some time before the movie played, we went upstairs to the restaurant/bar area for a drink. The bar/restaurant were empty apart from one couple so we were served right away. After we finished our drinks, we went downstairs to our theater. The theaters themselves are quite cozy but I did not mind too much especially with the private pods you get. They are very nice and include reclining seats and a blanket to share. We ordered a couple of bites to eat during the movie. We got a flatbread and spicy tuna and crispy rice. The flatbread was very tasty and a nice compliment to the movie. The crispy rice was not that good, definitely skip it in the future. Service was fast and efficient. All in all, a fun movie theater to go to, a bit pricy but it's a nice occasional splurge. read more

Disappointing Experience & Poor Customer Service This theater is not what it used to be, and frankly, they need a new manager who understands customer service. I bought a ticket for a show on Friday, March 14th, only to find that my seat was broken and missing cushions. I ended up sitting on a wooden bench--which was apparently my "seat" for the movie. The manager stopped by during the show and offered me free passes, but I declined and simply asked for a refund due to the inconvenience. His response? I'd have to leave the movie if I wanted a refund. Seriously? That's how you handle a paying customer? If upper management is reading this, I hope it reflects on how poorly this location is being run. For everyone else--save your money. With these prices, you'd expect better. I won't be coming back, and I'd recommend others avoid it too. read more

I've came to this ipic once before, but it's been years so I decided to give it a go this year. I got to the theater early so that I could take advantage of the cocktails at the bar and lounge. The drink that myself and my friend had were very good we enjoyed it. The lounge chairs were very comfortable and the ambiance was nice it was dim and cozy. When getting to the theater I was shocked to realize that I ordered tickets to seats that didn't recline or have a table. With that seat type I also couldn't have someone take my order from the seat and bring the food to me. I had to go out and get my food. I wish I knew that in advance so that I could get the real ipic experience. The food was pretty good I had a burger & fries. My friend had chicken. It was our first time at an IPIC theater. The ambience is beautiful and so inviting. As we got seated we saw the staff servicing other tables as we patiently waited. People who even came in after us got serviced. We saw a button in front of us on the table not knowing if it made a sound or if it was to light up, we pressed it several times, and to no avail no one showed up to our table the entire movie. So we did not get our full experience. We would definitely love to return in the near future to have the full experience in hopes that this does not happen again! read more

Glad to have an iPic movie theater in Manhattan. Clean, comfortable seats, decent drinks and ok food with wait staff service. Front row cheap seats are really too close to the screen. Most seats are pods of two. Private and comfy for couples. Larger theaters have a row of comfy seats in front of the pods. They're still two seat with a table combo, but better if you're a group of 3 or 4. Some of this row is reserved for handicapped, but the seats on the sides are for everyone. Right across the street from the Tin Building, so lots of fun food and drink options in the area. read more

I was excited to go to an IPIC theater. This was my first time. This location is great. The theater is very spacious and beautiful. There is beautiful color artwork displayed throughout the theater. Staff was friendly at the ticketing area. Women's bathroom was kept clean. We chose premium plus seating, which are two reclining chairs in a pod. The reclining chairs are specious and comfortable. There is a swivel table with their menu. There is a variety of food and drink to choose from. For my cocktail, I ordered Norma Jeane. I ordered a small butter popcorn and the warm pretzels. The pretzel is served with a side of cheese sauce and honey mustard. Pretzel was really good, and so was the popcorn. Our good experience took a turn real quick. We were in theater 6 for the 9:30pm showing on Saturday 5/25 to see Furiosa. The movie started playing, and I saw that the title of the movie displayed was the movie IF. I was immediately confused and thought I had made a mistake in going in the wrong theater. But then I realized that everyone was getting up with confusion. We all basically thought we were in the wrong theater. We asked staff members what was happening. The staff was very rude. Staff kept saying I don't know what's going on." I only work here." The wrong movie continued to play. A few of us got up to head to the front ticketing desk, but then a staff member walked in and turned the lights on. She came in the theater yelling. She did not address who she was. We could barely hear a thing because the movie IF was still playing. She stated that we had three options. Option#1 We stay and watch the incorrect movie. Option#2 We stay and see if they can change the movie, and they will compensate us. Option# 3 We leave without seeing any movie and get a full refund. Everyone, including myself at theater 6, decided we would stick it out and see what happens. After 35 minutes of the wrong movie playing, they were able to put on Furiosa the correct movie we all paid to see. This movie is 2 1/2 ours long. It was an amazing movie with non-stop action. After the movie was done, we went to the ticketing area. No one was there. Everyone basically left. All guest left without them compensating us. I found a worker, she stated to call the next day and speak to a manager. I called, and I was put on hold, and the call kept dropping, or someone would pick up and hang up the call. Overall, IPIC theater is beautiful, but I highly recommend they hire new employees or send their current employees to customer service training. Some staff members were extremely rude to guests. Everyone was just trying to figure out what was happening. I wish I had the servers name, who was super rude to the guest aside from us. Of course this is my go-to movie theatre. I was a bit hesitant on ordering the boss burger because it's a double hamburger patty. So I did take the 2nd patty off and enjoying the burger. It was really good. The 'free' popcorn was a bit stale (clearly it was yesterday's popcorn). And the only thing that still pissed me off is they advertise these lightening fast servers and I have to ring my blue buzzer to get one to come take my order. It's so frustrating. It's like if you require people to checkin in 20min before the movie, your servers should be ready to tend to movie goers. And my tip (or lack thereof) reflects this huge lack in service. Premium theater which has reclining Cush chairs. Dining service for food and very attentive staff. The food is decent, drink options. I had the sparkling water which is their own filter blend that was tasty. The popcorn was surprisingly buttery delicious. I ate the whole bag which is rare for me in theaters. Must be a premium brand. The layout for the vip pods in the upper level was slanted. Didn't like the view too much from theater 4 but comfortable and private. The price can be sparse but worth the experience. There were other demanding guest however, the staff gave excellent service regardless. Please be kind to staff. I'd return for certain films. 3 words: CREDIT CARD FRAUD. I have never had a worse customer service experience anywhere. This location wrongfully charged me hundreds of dollars on my credit card for someone else's food order during a movie. I placed over 25 calls and sent several emails to attempt to get this resolved, and the lack of response is beyond upsetting. Staff members have no empathy for the situation, and there is no urgency to get me the full refund (mind you, I've had $28 tickets refunded to me in minutes, so something isn't adding up to have a wrongful $300 charge posted to me for over 10 days). I'm being told I need to come in person to the theater to handle this, as if I haven't been inconvenienced enough. The fact that I've called so many times and no one is there to handle the issue makes me think the same exact thing would happen if I traveled there in person. It's truly mind blowing that something they are at fault for is not looked to be urgently resolved. The lack of customer care and responsiveness is incredibly off putting. I quite literally never write reviews but please be warned should you ever have an issue with money at this location. TLDR: pay in cash or go to a different theater. read more

From now on, I'm seeing every move at this location. I'd rather pay a little more trusting that everything about it will be as great of a time as we had here. It was my partners bday weekend and I had him on a scavenger hunt all over the city since our plans to visit Scottsdale Arizona got warped by a canceled flight. He wanted to see Mission Impossible and if I'm going to have to sit through damn dear 3 hours of a movie, I need comfort. We were lucky to get a pod in the front row. For those who've never been, the pods are a two seater reclined big comfy leather couch that allows pairs to be super close and extra comfy. We love them. You can take off you shoes, completely curl up and snuggle. We ordered our popcorn, some drinks, coffee and candy to make out time what we needed it to be. The customer service was warm and efficient even when but seemingly got busy. Workers kept pace with the customer demands and lines moved swiftly. Overall, we loved it. The only challenge is finding parking or committing to pay at least $50 for 2-3 hrs. Bar none, the best movie experience you can have locally. read more

The service is amazing with friendly staff members. With premium tickets for $30, you get a server with full service. The prices are reasonable and affordable. 2nd time I've experienced absolutely horrible service, they won't get me a 3rd time. The theater and area is very nice and I've usually have a great time. But the last few times, the service was horrible. I ordered my food, the server confirmed how I wanted my steak cooked and actually showed me the order on her tablet. My food never came, and when I called to find out about my food, she said I never ordered it. I completely understand that we are all human and we make mistakes, but when they come back and try to tell you that it was you who made the mistake and not them... it ruined the whole experience. It's not the theater, the concept, or the food, it's the staff. It's time to upgrade the staff to a more competent group. Two visits in and this is the only way I wanna see movies now! I love the sitting and dining space. I love the lounge, bar and restaurant. It just makes going to the movies an event overall. The attendees are pleasant and friendly. Engaging when serving. The food well... the truffle popcorn is my jam! that's really all I need. Put that truffle oil in a bottle for sale. I did truffle fries too. Now if these are not fresh out of the fryer, please do not offer them to me. The truffle oil needs to be poured on piping hot fries. A lil disappointed w/ that. Had some fish that was over-battered which made them huge and the texture was kinda tough. The baby shark song rang in my mind as I tried to enjoy. Will not order that again. I'll do it again. God, what a miss. The food was lousy (Chicken Wrap = little chicken, stale croutons) During the film, there was some random guy speaking through the speakers for a good 5 minutes - "Check, one two...check one two..." What is happening? The dirty plates just sit in front of you for the duration of the film. Also, first world problem, but the chairs squeak like the world's loudest fart when you're reclining. This ain't class y'all. There was some other nonsense, but I'm in the boat of Jessica W. who left the review, "style over substance." Ipic looks nice, but it's just a dysfunctional Applebees with a big screen. Very excited for Kelsey M. to share inauthentic words about the theater not meeting my expectations. After visiting here years ago when it first opened and remembering it to be an unforgettable experience, I decided to go see the new gladiator film with my friend who mentioned she wanted to check out this theater. Oh man, was this a disappointment. It's sad to see the quality and service here has gone down over only a few years of it being open. From the cleanliness of the theater, to the broken seats, everything was a stark change. Arrived on time, and was greeted and directed to our seats. Bought some snacks and headed to our theater. The show timing was late and the carpet of the theater was dirty too which was the first thing I noticed. We sat in our seats and the table attached to one of the seats was actually totally broken. It was hanging off the side of the chair and the placement of it was so unnecessary, it felt as if it was in your way the entire time. The seats we were in did not recline and were incredibly stiff and uncomfortable the entire time. I left with a cramp from how long I was sitting in such a crappy position. Even the AMC movie theaters offer reclining seats. Now I understand that this place just wants to upcharge patrons to get a reclining seat, but that is incredibly messed up. Why would you build stiff ass seats to watch a 2 1.2 hour long movie??? Unreal. The people who were in the theater also did not care about the film experience. People were speaking during the whole film and constantly getting up and using their phones. The seats were such that if you wanted to get food you would have to order it and then get up to physically get it since they were not in the price range to receive table service. Another nuisance. Overall for what you're paying, and the quality of the service and experience, save your money and go to an AMC or something. It's not worth coming here any more which is heartbreaking to say since I loved It the very first time I came after it had just opened.
