Food and drinks are delicious, well themed, but priced on the high end though. That said the server staff does have the difficult task of spotting customers and their orders, and food is made in a timely manner. So pricing does balance out for what you get. The movie selections are more eclectic, which is to be expected from an Alamo Drafthouse. And when there is a special release (Star Wars for example) they go all out. Costumes, set pieces, you name it. Unfortunately there is no IMAX support. 3D or otherwise. This is an issue when you go to see a movie knowing that you're seeing most of what was filmed but not all of it. In this day and age with something so frequently used in cinematography and is so established only to not be featured or even accommodated is an oversight that's hard to overlook. I can't comment on the food, but I'd never go see another movie here. I'm no fan of people who turn on their phone screen during movies, much less text or leave their ringer on. So I was excited to see the ad before the movie saying that they would eject people for doing so, and that they don't allow people to come in late. All great. What they don't tell you is that there will be random servers walking around with food through the entire thing. OK, I guess, that's their business model, but still it's way more distracting than a couple people showing up five minutes late or someone turning on their screen for a second. Either way, that I could have lived with. But what they really don't tell you is that a server will be stopping to interrupt your experience so that they can ask you if you need anything in the middle of the movie, even though you haven't raised your order card or given any other sign that you want something. So maybe if it's really critical to you that someone serves you fresh cooked dinner in the middle of your movie so you can eat it in the dark, this is the place for you. But if you go to the movie theater because you actually want to focus on the movie, I really recommend somewhere else. read more

The main reason this theater has turned into my go-to movie watching venue boils down to this: Last minute decision to see a movie. Purchase tickets online (one phone), run into the movie theater without having to stop at the ticket counter or snack counter, find pre-assigned seats and get there in time to see the previews (yes, I like the previews). Club soda costs $0 and is served in the giant gallon-sized cups, which is super necessary because the $7 unlimited bowl of popcorn requires much hydration to combat the sodium. Oh yes...and there's also the fact that you can get a decent beer and a pizza. The reuben pizza ($12) was surprisingly good. I recommend requesting a side of thousand island with that order. I also get a little chuckle watching the wait staff scurry across the aisles, half bent, while the movie is playing. So a bit of entertainment with a dash of being impressed with the stooping-bending requirement of their job (so tip well, folks). While they do not have a recliner chairs, I understand why - what a potential disaster waiting to happen if folks are eating and lounging with the to-and-fro scurry service. read more

The policy of kicking people out if they talk was super aggressive (the video was at least). Love Alamo Drafthouse and it never seems to disappoint across all the different cities that have them! From Austin so very used to the Alamos there and this one has the same feel except maybe a little newer flooring etc in the theaters. Has a pretty decent size bar/restaurant right outside the theater with an outdoor patio also. Staff was nice and the food is always good! Go with the Carnivore pizza and any draft beer.. guaranteed to be a hit! read more

Love Alamo Drafthouse! Best cinema in the Omaha area, even above the other cinedine options. The food is one reason why they are better than the competitors. Another nice thing about Alamo is they don't just show the latest movies on the list, they also play all kinds of classics and have special showing events. Went on date to the Alamo in Omaha. Arrived 30 minutes early so we can order food and hang out. Kitchen ran out of the special and instead of coming to us and having us pick something else they threw out the whole order. We raised our cards to find out what is going on and the runner grabs it and never comes back. We raise another card stating cancel the food and just bring us another popcorn. Again the runner never returns. 20 min left they come through and do last call, I'm like how about my food??? Movie ends they come back with two free tickets and tell us the kitchen threw out the order. Worst experience And they want us to come back. Very disappointed that the blame was passed onto the kitchen like that. Good luck read more

I've been here for quite a few movies. My favorite is to go when the theater won't be crowded. We went to opening night of Fantastic Beasts and it was horribly annoying to have the servers constantly moving in front of us and behind us, bumping our chairs. And the service wasn't even very good, they kept getting our neighbor's order wrong, and we didn't even get refills on our bottomless popcorn or soda. But like I said, this is a rare experience, especially if you go during off hours or not to opening weekend. Also, their move parties are incredibly fun - we went to Twister, and they threw cows during the "We have cows" scene and sprayed us with water when it rained on screen. I do appreciate their no talking, no late comers, no texting policies. But they need to enforce it better. A giggly group of girls were seated 15 minutes into one of the movies, when Alamo states explicitly that late comers won't be seated. I had to turn, give them an evil stare, and say "shhhhh!" Then they left; maybe they were in the wrong movie. It was Star Wars after all. They didn't seem like the type to watch Star Wars. I also have to add that they use real clarified butter on their bottomless popcorn. Totally worth it! read more

Best movie theatre in town. I wish it was closer to our house; the drive is the only thing keeping us from going for every movie. The fact that they enforce the no noise/talking policy is wonderful. It's really great to have an Alamo Drafhouse here in the Omaha area. Probably the best selection of current and classic films, with a healthy dose of unique events sprinkled in. The bar/restaurant is great spot to grab a drink and a bite before or after a flick. Nothing groundbreaking back in the kitchen, but a nice modern take on American favorites. Plus there are 20+ beers on tap to keep your dry mouth at bay. Of course, you can order food and drink in the theater as well. If there's one complaint I have it's the location, which is convenient for half the town, but not for me. The Alamo Drafhouse in Kansas City is right downtown in the heart of the action. Perhaps the fact downtown and midtown Omaha are already pretty saturated with both art house and modern theaters is why they chose to build in Southport. No matter because Alamo still offers what is arguably the best movie-going experience in the area. Pair the programming here with Film Streams, and film buffs from across the metro should be more than satisfied. read more

The idea of moving to Omaha from Los Angeles 4+ years ago really, really worried me. Was it the harsh winters? Nah (I grew up in Chicagoland). Was it the fact that Omaha was pretty much one of the last places my ten-years-younger self would have thought I'd end up living? Nah. It was leaving my beloved New Beverly Cinema -- the best repertory theater experience I've ever had. I saw an advance screening of Young Adult hosted by Paramount with Jason Reitman and Charlize Theron in attendance for a Q&A. I saw a 35mm print of Aliens that 20th Century Fox struck in celebration of the film's 25th anniversary. AND I saw Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair there (the print that Quentin showed at Cannes)! But alas, Omaha was a certainty, and I made the move. Film Streams certainly helped ease this, ahem, *cinematic* transition. And then a few years later there was the big announcement: Alamo Drafthouse was coming to Omaha. Great day in the morning -- what once was lost now is found. So what better way to honor my experiences at the Quentin Tarantino-owned New Beverly Cinema than by seeing The Hateful Eight at the Alamo Drafthouse? First, let me tell you, these theaters are impeccable. And NOT just because they're brand new. It's because someone KNEW what they were doing. Soft, red light to illuminate the theater for that wonderful time between when you walk in and when the trailers start? Sooooo much better than the harsh tungstens at the AMC in Council Bluffs. Oh, and they have waitstaff who zip to your seats and take your order AND bring you free refills on popcorn and soda AND the prices for said popcorn and soda are INCREDIBLY reasonable AND they use metal bowls and reusable cups so you're not filling up landfills with your drink cups and popcorn cartons??? Um, awesome. So, the exhibition. One word: flawless. Nothing out of focus, no weird framing where the film's being projected on the curtains, no crackly sound coming from old scratchy speakers -- and the seats (even though they're not big, plush loungers) are extremely comfortable! So, I ordred a hot pretzel and a Brickway Pilsner. Again, reasonably priced AND they were brought to me at the beginning of the movie. I did notice that the beer glass had a small chip along the rim, and although it didn't cut my lip, I wrote a note to the waitress just to give them a heads up to retire the glass. The waitress came back with a note saying they comped me the beverage and that another one was mine, on the house, if I wanted it. An hour or so later I redeemed my "coupon" for a second beer and leaned back to enjoy Quentin's 8th. I LOVE that there are no concession stands. I LOVE that the bathrooms are thoughtfully designed/decorated. I LOVE the incredible Star Wars themed lobby complete with Emperor Palpatine's throne and an "armed a fully operational" Death Star. So, with all this being said, I still miss Los Angeles dearly, especially the New Beverly Cinema, but having the Alamo Drafthouse right down Interstate 80 (and all the "old" movies they play) keeps making Omaha feel more and more like home. read more

Honestly, I hate going to see movies in theaters. Somehow I still love going to Alamo. Typically I prefer watching movies at home, where I can pause, rewind, take out a load of laundry, text my mom, whatever. But at home, there's a big problem: no one cooks for me, no one waits on me, and I have to get my own beer. I first fell in love with Alamo when the Littleton location opened in the Denver metro area. I was PUMPED when I learned one was opening around here. Since movie-going isn't a frequent activity, I don't really mind that it's a bit of a drive. With the boozin', though, you have to take it easy and have one member of your party be the DD, because that's going to be a hell of an Uber charge, at least to my address. I love that Alamo not only shows new releases, but also shows classics (real classics, cult classics, Mean Girls) and has special quote-alongs and sing-alongs. The _____-alongs are great for those dorks I hate to watch movies with (look, in college I was friends with a lot of musical theater people, so I'm just done with that life.) Confine them to each other, please. Alamo is doing a great service to us all. The cine-dine thing might not be for you if you're real, real serious about movies and require absolute silence and focus while watching. The servers are great and very quiet, but they still have to do their jobs, which will take your head out of the action for a few seconds. Also, sick Death Star in the lobby. read more

Update 11/14/2016- Okay I really want to like this place despite my first experience, so I've given this place about 5 more tries over the course of the past year, and am much more pleased with how the service has been on my previous 2-star review, so I'm upping to 4-star. It seems that my first poor service experience was an outlier. I still think the "ninja waiters" are a much less efficient system than just letting people leave their seats and get what they want. In all but 1 of my last 5 visits, the waiter had to actually ask me a question about my order, or tell me they were out of something (no cheese curds!?). Again, this is way more distracting then people quietly getting up, or quietly texting. But, i digress. Also, times waiting for my order ticket to be picked up have ranged from immediate, to 45 minutes. So make sure you plan ahead if you are hungry, or think you are going to want beverage refill soon. The pretzel with mustard and cheese is my favorite item to order. Initially they served it with a delicious hot stone ground mustard, but the new mustard they are using is still hot, but doesn't have that nice stone ground texture, its just a runny mustard. Definitely liked the old mustard better. But then again, I'm a mustard snob. The sound is still second to none. And the pre-movie presentation is very entertaining. I'd say its definitely worth even a drive across town to check out at this point. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Experienced Alamo Drafthouse for the first time this weekend. My suggestion is to come for the movie experience. Eat at home. First off, the movie experience is pretty good. Seats aren't as comfortable as some of their competitors, but they're fine. Plenty of room between you and the stranger next to you. Audio is great in the theater, one of the best I've experienced. People generally stick to the "stay quiet" rules of the theater, so thats nice. The food is priced decently and was good. The service almost brings the entire thing down. I understand if you don't want people to have the ability to leave the theater and get their own drinks and food. It takes away from others experience having everyone leave their seat constantly. But...BUT! If you are going to do that, the service has to be on point. There were several hiccups. 1. We ordered several items because we wanted to see how the service was. The items are delivered in very awkward and nonsensical order. I don't know if they have decided its the most efficient way, but it wasn't for us. My fellow movie goer started off ordering pizza, a beer and a water. I got a pretzel, beer and soda. Instead of bringing everything to us at once, or even drinks first and food later, it came out like this: friends pizza, 5 minutes, my soda, 5 minutes, friends beer, 5 minutes, my beer and friends water, 20 minutes, my pretzel. 2. When my pretzel finally came out, my "bottomless" soda was empty. No one offered me a refill, so i tapped a server on the shoulder as she walked by and asked for a refill. She said, "uh, write it on the card and put it up". Okay, no problem, thats the system. I do that, I also add some popcorn to the card. 30 minutes later (luckily the movie was 2.5 hours long), they come and pick up my order ticket. Great! 3. Another 20 minutes, and the popcorn shows up, but no soda. OK, I think. Thats their system. Bring your order out piecemeal. The soda will show up! (right?) 4. An hour later, near the end of the movie, popcorn almost gone and I'm thirsty. No one has brought a soda refill yet, which was written on the order ticket. Finally i put another order ticket up that says i never received my refill. That sits there for another 15 minutes before someone finally sees it, and rushes the soda out to me as the credits are about to roll. I don't have a problem with this system in theory. But there is no alternative for getting your stuff if they forget. You can't walk out and go, "sorry, all my fault, but no one refilled my soda, can i get one?". You're just stuck not getting it. I mean its just a soda, its not a huge deal. I survived. But all this flies in the face of their desire to never distract from the movie, to the point of telling people they can't talk or use cell phones to text or they'll get kicked out. Several people were texting around me during the movie and it was NOWHERE NEAR AS DISTRACTING as the servers walking by (albeit trying earnestly to duck out of the way) 15 times an hour during the movie because they are delivering your (and everyone around you) order so inefficiently. read more

This place is awesome. They have special showings every Saturday of older classics, even classic horror films. So far I have seen The Fly, Attack on Precinct 13, Demons, and just last night I saw the first ever screening of 4K remastered Phantasm, with a q&a with the director and cast. The theater obviously cares about movie fans, and that is hard to come by now-a-days. I count my blessings every time I think that there are so many cities out there that don't have independent theaters like this, and are missing out on seeing some of the best movies to ever be created come back on the big screen. They serve drinks and food during the showing, but I can only speak for the Reuben Pizza which is great, but a distracter nonetheless. Overall a great experience, I drive half an hour from Bellevue to come here, and I have never regretted it once. read more

The decor, the bar, and the food are very good. And I love the rare clips before the movie starts. But the restrictions put on patrons are just silly considering how distracting the servers and the lights under the tables are. Alamo pretends that it's a distraction free zone for serious movie goers. In reality, it's more like a restaurant that happens to show movies, which can be fun, so it depends on what you're in the mood for. I actually care about paying attention to the movie much more than having a restaurant experience. I've been to Alamo multiple times now, and I won't go again. Each time, the ridiculous servers have stood right in front of me while talking to someone about their order during a key part of the movie. Their ticket scanning system is stupid, and the employees always end up screwing something up with the tickets. Servers walk right in front of you all throughout the movie. And the other day during Star Trek's opening night on a 100+ degree day, they had zero air flow going in the theater. I didn't pay to sit in a sauna, and I'm not going to waste my time at Alamo again. read more

Alamo is the only theater I go to. Not only do they offer several different vegan options I can have a normal size water for free! Not some tiny cup meant for mouthwash like the other theaters. I've never had a bad experience at the Alamo since they opened. I love this place! read more

We were celebrating the birthday of a wonder woman so ten of us went to a late night showing of The Mummy. JUST KIDDING. We went to Wonder Woman, of course! We arrived about five minutes before show time, our server introduced himself, showed us how ordering worked (white slips of paper while the movie is happening), and took our beer order. Draft beers were all $5-$6 and there was a nice range of local beer and other great beers from around the country. I had the Lagunitas IPA, my husband had the Stone IPA. There are lights underneath the small tables so you can read the menu, even when the lights are down in the theatre. SMART. We split the Toasted Turkey Club on Marble Rye with fries - it was a great portion size, good flavor, and came out hot. I want to give major kudos to our server - right as the previews were starting, another group of 10 came in and sat down. Our server, being the only server for the entire theater, blanched a little bit. I said, "It's gonna be a good night for you." And he said, "Be patient with me." And he crushed it. A runner brought out beer and water and our food came out in good time. He was HUSTLING. He could have phoned it in at a 10:25 PM showing, but he didn't. Well done, sir. I love the vibe here--from the funny clips related to the film they show before every movie, to the death star that you can shoot yourself in the lobby, to the props they often put out that you can take pictures with. We saw Rogue One here a few days after it opened, and we were thrilled to walk in and see several live characters (Darth Vadar, robots, rebels) that were there interacting with guests. Food has been consistently good, and they often do special meals that correspond with a movie. My husband got a Blue Milk cocktail (real Star Wars nerds will catch the reference). Great beers, and plenty of inventive vegetarian options (like hatch green chili mac and cheese, sweet potato hash, etc). Once in a while they've forgotten part of the order--if so, make sure to raise an order card to remind them. Pro tip: While assigned seats mean you don't have to get there early to get a good seat, I'd recommend getting there early anyway to order food while it's light enough to easily read the menu easily and while the funny clips are playing. Plus, you food will come earlier! read more

I see all the terrific reviews on here so I was disappointed with misunderstood food orders while watching a movie. While our problems individually were minor, when added up, it was a distraction from our otherwise good moviegoing experience. It was telling that after seeing Spectre, everything we talked about on the way to the car had nothing to do with the movie and had everything to do with the service. I'll start with the good stuff: + The high-back chairs are comfy and rock + The extra step and space between rows make it easy to walk through + The theater had excellent screen size and immersive sound (if not a bit loud, but this helps suppress restaurant sounds) + The food tasted fresh and really sets a new bar for any cine-dine out there + The ninja servers were fast and quiet. We purposely sat in the back to observe the whole theater and aside from a handful of moments, they blend in and are not a distraction to the movie + The quirky environment, pre-show featurettes were fun and entertaining, if not approaching obnoxious in the most fun way possible + The Irish Coffee Milkshake! I could have had three of these, they were so delicious! Okay here's where things got hairy. Keep in mind we went into this already paranoid that writing in the dark on our order cards may make handwriting difficult to read so we put extra effort to make sure what we were writing was legible. We ordered: Fried Green Beans with sriracha ranch and Shiner Bock honey mustard We Received: Delicious Fried Green Beans with... Sour Cream? Fixed: After about 20 min, we were able to get this corrected. Unfortunately, my green beans were cold by this time. Even our bill says "sour cream." I don't get how that happened. We ordered: Bottomless Popcorn with real clarified butter and side of herb Parmesan We received: 1st bowl was great, but when we requested a refill we didn't get the clarified butter which to someone who makes lots of stove top popcorn at home, makes a huge difference. Lesson here is don't assume they are actually keeping track of what you order for refills. We Ordered: Moonstruck Medeary Cherry Melomel We Received: Both Moonstruck Meadery Cherry and Blackberry Melomel. This was another mind-stumper. We somehow got both the Melomel's from the menu delivered. At the time we thought we didn't know why they served two drinks, maybe they ran out of proper sized glassware or something , but after seeing the bill, we were charged for two different drinks. Maybe we got someone else's order? If it didn't take 20 minutes to follow through on order issues it would have been a much better experience. It was unfortunate that the issue with our service was all in silly details. We went in with high expectations after reading all the glowing reviews and looking extensively at the menu online. We couldn't help but leave slightly disappointed after spending about $70 for food, drink and the movie tickets. For the food-price premium, I also expect premium service. read more

My wife and I saw "The Last Jedi" Tuesday night at the Alamo Drafthouse in Omaha. The technical presentation was first rate. We sat in the second row. The screen included a visual angle of over 45 degrees. It was an Atmos theater and the sound was excellent - literally a wall of sound across the width and height of the screen with position cues perfectly matching the visuals. The digital 4K projection was super clear and crisp with excellent black levels. I really like the Alamo Drafthouse concept - I had a couple of local ipa's, Kelly had some wine and the pizza we had was pretty good too. Overall a fun evening! read more

Love this place so much. I am always disappointed or reminded of the rude and loud patrons when I go elsewhere. And when I do go elsewhere, there are very special circumstances. This place is always my top choice. Are they perfect, no, but when situations have happened in the past (only twice in my two years of going) the manager is always on top of his game to fix the situation ASAP. Food is delicious as well! Try the cookies for an amazing treat or one of their alcoholic milkshakes (even good as non-alcoholic as well.) I always look forward to specialty screenings and special menu items for certain movies. This place is THE BEST! read more

We visited Alamo for a quote-a-long to The Princess Bride. I may be the only person in the world who doesn't love that movie, but I had a really great time. We arrived shortly before the movie was scheduled to start and people were sitting in our seats (the theater has assigned seating--you select your seats when you buy your tickets). When we asked these folks about our seats they said "well, other people were in our seats." Um, why didn't you move them? (I totally understand this is not the theater's fault, but maybe the servers could check the seats on everyone's tickets before serving them?) It was kind of a process to get these people out of our seats. Once they moved, the server had to move their tabs, and he told us he'd go do that and then he'd be back to clean our tables and take our orders. Again, I'm not totally blaming the server, but our table was never cleaned (I sat with a puddle of water and dirty napkins in front of me the whole movie), and I didn't get to place my order until more than half-way through the movie. Because it took so long, I didn't order food and just got one drink. I was disappointed, as the menu looked really good. The seats were pretty comfortable but the table was quite small (one table to two seats). Two entrees and drinks would be a tight squeeze on a table. I'm giving Alamo 4 stars despite the issues above because the movie was very fun! They provided us with props to "play along" with the movie. We had blow up swords for the sword fighting scenes, bubbles and bells for the "kissing parts", and Inigo Montoya nametags. I was also chosen to participate in a Princess Bride themed contest before the movie started. So fun! I'd definitely give Alamo another try for the full food/drink/movie experience. read more

A hipsters paradise in an urban sprawl wasteland! I Was excited to check out the new Alamo Draft House and Cinema. I have always wanted to go to an Alamo but have never had the opportunity. I always thought it was strange that they list draft house before cinema in their name but as I arrived I walked right past the hallway leading to the theaters and into a bright and inviting bar / restaurant. As I browsed the menu it was clear this isn't your typical 'cinedine' operation. The bar area had almost as many screens as seats and all were turned into sports; I would have thought they would have movies playing but I could totally see myself coming here to watch a game with no plans to see a movie. With a wide selection of taps (bartender told me I could sample anything before ordering) and bottles and apps I would in sports nirvana. The biggest winners are the guests of the large hotels on campus who can simply walk there. For the rest of Omaha you are only a short trip on I80 away. I started with a beer at the bar before my into the theater. Seating starts 30 minutes prior to the start of the movie and they show quirky programming chosen by Alamo staffers. I was hoping to get my order in at the bar and have it brought to my seats but that function wasn't available - with assigned seating that should be a breeze. It would allow me to pay in advance and give me the opportunity to eliminate an extra interruption to my movie. For a company on the hunt for all noise makers you think they would accommodate 'preorders' from a touch screen in the lobby or from the bartender. Once in the theater I ordered the fried goat cheese salad with chicken. The salad came out without the chicken but the waiter quickly got it fixed. It was their very first showing with customers so small hiccups like that are to be expected. Once the movie was about to start one of the managers welcomed us at gave some background on Alamo. As soon as the lights dimmed the waitstaff became ninjas weaving in and out of the aisles while ducking out of your sight lines. If you want order something, write it on a piece of paper and prop it up on your table. A person stands in the front of the theater scanning for orders (and presumably cell phones) to alert the runners. All the staff was super friendly and dedicated. Typically a movie theater staff is all teens dedicated only to taking the best work selfies. Where as this staff, on day one, is already going above and beyond. I think it is amazing that so many restaurant managers in Omaha could learn a thing or to about food service from a movie theater. Enjoy the show! read more

Like anything else, the service and convenience of any service provider is what gets me, and Alamo Drafthouse is doing well in these areas. I downloaded their Android app and was easily able to purchase tickets, select seats and skip the line of folks on the way end. You can even get a special receipt on your phone so you don't even have to stop at a kiosk when you arrive. Doing well, Alamo! The seats are comfortable, although not the electric recliners in the other big cinema place in town, and new so we'll see how they stand the test of time. There's no concession stand, so all food is ordered at your seat from menus at a small table between chairs. It's a good system that's available all movie long, which is also different from the "Bistro" set ups in Omaha. I do feel sorry for the waiters 'cuz they've apparently been taught to crouch walk from one side to another so as to not block anyone's view of the movie....great stuff, funny to watch. The food is great and my wife says their popcorn is some of the best she's had. Keep up the good cooking! Alamo also stands apart in that they don't have the normal advertising running before the movie. It's a funny combination of short films and Internet humor ("Bad Lip Reading" anyone?) So that's a welcome change from being sold on the network's next Thursday night comedy or movie coming out. Bottomline: Great start to movie theater near our home and we look forward to many more visits. read more

Loved the staff. Loved the venue. The seats were comfortable enough. The service was good too. One's ability to see the screen looked to be great from any seat. The sound was super. The pre-movie entertainment was fun. One odd thing was that there were only (maybe) 20 people in the theater and yet they sat a couple (assigned seats) right next to us. The food was "ok." The dishes are aluminum - shaped like a panhandler pan. We totally got the concept but eating off of that dish with a fork made our fillings hurt. We have been twice now - it was even better the second time and our food was darn good. I can't give it 5 out of 5. While it's almost there. Something is a bit awkward. Very impressed with this theater! No talking or phone use during the movie, and no one can enter if they are late. Plus, the lobby has a giant replica of the Death Star; I chatted with a friendly employee, and they let me know that every Alamo franchise lobby has a different theme. The food was better than any I've ever had at any cinedine; I was especially impressed with the homemade queso, as it was garnished with fresh cilantro and cotilla. There's a solid collection of local beer on tap, including one of my personal favorites, Infusion Brewery's Vanilla Bean Blonde Ale. I would have to try more food to comment more, but I'll definitely be back and will update this review! My only issue was that the chairs are less comfortable than the Majestic, so hence the four not five stars. But, it's a hip new theater, and something different for this market, so I will surely be back. read more

Alamo is by far my favorite theater in Omaha. I love their menu, beer selection, and movie lineup. I love the lineup for fresh movies and cult classics that they offer. I would definitely recommend ordering food while waiting for your movie in the comfort of your theater seat. Their brunch is worth the early show, especially the french toast and breakfast pizza. Top that all off with fresh brewed coffee and you have a home run. read more

This is a great cinema. It's got the latest Dolby sound, large screens, theater seating and food service. Most important though, just before the movie starts, the theater warns that they will eject audience members if they talk or use their phone. Finally, a theater that understands why people stopped going to theaters. They also bring back classic films for one or two nights. This week it was Reservoir Dogs. In the same building (but with a separate entrance, I believe) was the TapRoom. We did not visit the bar but may do so on our next visit. read more

A movie experience like no other in Omaha. They open the door for you like at a restaurant. They take you to your seats and take your order for food, beer, or whatever. We just got some popcorn and soda, which they refill for you during the movie without having to leave your seat. Popcorn comes in a big bowl just like at home. The screen quality and sound system are amazing. The seats are comfy leather and rock back and forth. They don't fold out and recline, which was the only disappointment. The only downside is paying online. They charge a service fee, even if you are a rewards member. Marcus waives this fee. To avoid this, you have to go pay in person. No groups of kids or teens hanging out because that isn't allowed. Also, they are very strict on no talking or texting. read more

I've made the journey to the Alamo 3 times now. Once for dessert (beer), another time we saw Star Wars and had dinner during the movie, and then on our last visit we sat in the restaurant for food and beer. Number one plus for the restaurant/bar area is that they have a really nice selection of local and craft brews. Nice bar area with tons of TV's. I wish that they played old movies on a few of the sets instead of being sports centric, but I'm probably one of the only people who feel that way so I digress. Our first food experience was really great! I loved the special dinner menu they had for the star wars movie. For an app we got some sort of wookie ball that was awesome! But no longer on the menu. I had the smoked bacon with goat cheese sandwich and absolutely loved it. I did put my plate on my lap so that I could actually see my food. They have little lights under your table, otherwise it's pitch black and hard to see what you are putting in your mouth. Both my hard to please husband and 10 year old were very happy with their meals as well. 2nd food experience not so much. I ordered the Asian wrap. Which looked delicious when it came out, however I have a crazy pallet when it comes to detecting reheated chicken, and I can promise you that the grilled chicken in my wrap was reheated. Chicken fat congeals when it is put in a fridge, then once it's microwaved (reheated) the fat becomes rancid and this was immediately evident to me. I complained and our server was really nice about it, he offered to get me something different so I got a burger. It was actually pretty good. Although it took 20 mins to get to our table, so my husband was done with his food, and we had 2 more beers while we sat there and waited. They comp'd my meal which was also nice. However the manager who passed our table 20 times never stopped by. Maybe it was because I wasn't really too upset about it... just hungry. My thoughts are thus, first off for the movie experience - they should have digital menus at your seat that you can order from remotely. That way you don't have to wait for someone to pick up your card. You could also request a waiter utilizing this method, so for those who like to have some punk in your face telling you the specials of the day... well you can have your way too. This would reduce the number of times waiters walk in front of the screen. And also eliminates the distraction of wondering why the hell your waiter hasn't picked up your card yet. 2nd - The theaters are super large. I'm not sure how the kitchen keeps up. The amount of food you would have to stock to ensure that you don't run out of items is astronomical. Maybe a different menu for the theater area and the restaurant would be a good idea. This way the chefs aren't tempted to save leftover chicken for the wraps the next day. But i'm in no way a kitchen manager, I can't even begin to imagine the nightmare of estimating how much food to purchase weekly. Hopefully they start feeding the leftovers to the homeless population of La Vista. In summary, it's a great addition to our city. I'm really excited to see what kind of movies they have in the future, and what sorts of events they put on. If you haven't been, go. read more

Loved it. Loved that it was bottomless popcorn in a metal bowl. the chairs were super comfy, love how serious they are about movies, really clean, great service. When I go back for sure I will try some food. The only thing that bugged me was that candy is $6! A box. What the heck on Tuesdays movies are only $5.
