    Still waiting after 45 minutes! Granted it's Saturday, only 2 counter reps, Avis app is not up to date and lines are out the door! Typically our car is waiting for us via the app. Van driver said even if you check in at the airport they would send to the offsite facility without assigning you a car....Come on Avis get your shizz together!

    The treads were less than 1/8" deep. This is a total danger to your customers. Who is checking these vehicles before they go out?

    A little bit of a mix up when picking up the vehicle. The lot attendenat gave a spot number that didn't exist. When the attendant finally gave an existing space number the wrong car was in the spot. Had to go back into the office and resolve the issue. The lot attendant then said it wasn't ready. Not sure what her issue was. Then had to wait for the car an additional 20 minutes. It came to me dripping wet. All my luggage and the clothes I was wearing got wet. This is the part that really upsets me. When I got to my destination, I noticed the two tires on the passenger side were very warn and unsafe. How can you guys jeopardize your customers safety like this???? Not happy with this at all! Don't you do a safety pre check?? Not cool at all. My two hour drive back to the airport was so nerve wrecking.

    the worst experience! i booked it on line and still waited for an hour in line with walks in, they char me for a week even if i brought it back in 5 says, they just changed price per day) drop off is just horrible try to find it then all these loops, they make narrow roads idk why and what for and a lot of roadblocks, i thought i ll scratch it of smthing while was driving there maybe they so it in purpose so y overpay for damage, my first and last experience with em i hope i ll get my deposite back

    I'm giving this rental car service a 5 star just because of Tavia. I was not able to bring the same credit card that I used to reserve the car online, so unfortunately, she couldn't confirm my reservation and had to cancel it altogether. However, Tavia booked a completely new reservation for me, but she applied the discounts that I was able to avail online prior. On top of that, she was able to keep the rates as close as possible to the one I originally booked. She also made sure that the canceled reservation has complete notations, so they won't give me a hard time requesting a refund. I was also able to drive a luxury SUV instead of a regular one with the upgrade that she provided. The only mistep was she forgot to change the drop-off point to a different airport, but it's still not a big deal anymore at this point because of all the help she previously arranged for me. I also wanted to acknowledge the lady checking out the cars at the gate at the time I picked up the car on January 6, 2024. I didn't catch her name, but she's very sweet as well and very willing to assist.

    Horribly protracted check-in experience where the agents are behind plastic and proceed to speak quietly and quickly in a monotone that is impossible to decipher. I imagine this is so you give up and just agree to all the add-ons they are trying to sell you. The car was very dirty and reeks of cigarettes. Both cloth seats have stains and cigarette burns on them. So gross.

    Empty Members Mark Strips bag and crumbs in the console. Next time we will choose another car rental company

The shuttle driver was nice and dropped us off right out front. Despite having Enterprise, National and Alamo on the building and what looked like 3 doors they routed us all into one building/office. The clerks made short work of the line. I was asked about my insurance company (not sure if that is new to rentals or just to Alamo or Texas) but they didn't harass me about declining coverages. They also asked my deductible. The staff assisting me was nice (I told her I wanted to go to Buc-ee's and she asked where we were staying and googled the closest one for us. I also told her I was excited Texas had Quik Trips and she told me there was one right up the street. I asked about tolls and was told "oh yeah all our cars are equipped for tolls." I didn't see the toll transponder I have seen in other major cities with lots of toll roads so I didn't think anything of it. We did not take toll roads our first day. I asked the people we knew who lived in texas what their toll tags looked like as I could not find it on the car (found out it is a T in an orange circle says toll tag or something like it). Basically told us to suck it up and take toll roads, fees be damned (because what can you do?). I was pissed and anticipated a large toll bill (and I mean it was a lot for 4 days but at least Alamo doesn't gouge you on the "fee administration" of the tolls like other places). We returned the rental car 1/2 and got the toll bill today. Tolls were $58.62 for 4 days and the service charge was $19.80. I don't understand how people afford to drive in texas if you can rack up a $60 toll bill in 4 days but my husband said they can afford it because gas is so cheap. Ok so after gas station talk we went out to pick out our car. There was a good amount of standard SUV's (our rental class) and we were told to pick. We were walking up and down the aisle trying to decide what to pick and a staff asked us several times if we needed help. We picked a black Ford Edge which was pretty new (only 4500 miles!) that was nice. It fit all our luggage and passengers. It had dual climate control, heated seats and the giant screen that paired well with my husband's android. It was a great car to tool around in the 5 days we were there. We had to gas it twice and when my husband said gas was $37 I was like "how small is the tank?" but gas was only $2.49 Gassed it before return and it was $7 We had no issues returning the car as we put in the address on our rental contract and there were signs. We got there when a shuttle was about to take off but they waited for us! Shuttle driver was super helpful loading bags and getting us to the airport safely and timely. I would rent from this Alamo again if in the area and will likely rent from Alamo in the future.

We rented a Chevy Malibu and got the car quickly enough, but before we hit the street the car started jerking and then stalled on us with a notice on the dash saying to shift to neutral. My wife restarted the car and we got about halfway around the block before jerking abruptly to a stop as the engine shut down again. We managed to nurse it back around to the return side of the lot where we were told they would do a vehicle swap for us. They were totally casual about it like this happens all the time, but all I could think was we were about to drive across Dallas on the freeways out to Rockwall. If the car had died on the 635 we would have been screwed for sure, or even better yet seriously hurt in a crash as the car shuts down on a freeway. I called their customer service department today to discuss it with them, as I lost sleep last night thinking about how bad it could have been. They said they were going to escalate it to their management team, but I haven't heard back from anyone yet. In the meantime my wife noticed the check engine light has come on in the replacement (you guessed it, Chevy Malibu) and won't go off. So I'm just feeling super uneasy driving this car around and will certainly avoid renting from Alamo in the future as they are clearly not servicing their fleet. My family's safety is worth more than saving a few bucks on a sketchy rental.

I asked a question about the deposit, wasn't my ideal answer but it was answered. Just didn't understand why I couldn't use a different card to hold the deposit. Then she proceeded to ask me for my flight details and wouldn't accept the screenshot that I provided. Then asked for me to pull it up again and I grabbed my phone to which she said she wasn't going to help me and walked away. She accused me of "snatching" my phone away returning with a manager. I mentioned the upgrade and had to mention it twice. Seemed as if the was not the case as it was still in the same category and I smells badly like urine. I'm also beside myself that she then told me I could use the other card when I returned the car..... why do I even need to do that if I am returning the car? Not sure if there was an issue with others prior, but there was no reason to be short with someone who was simply not understanding what she was saying. Simply a very poor experience.

Twice the woman was short with us and then walked away and said she wasn't going to assist. She did return and help us and even though we mentioned the upgrade we had to ask for a second time. Once we got the car it smelled horrible of urine. Return went very well. That team was super nice.

The Shuttle was easy to find and it showed up right when I did. The office had a managed line. The workers were friendly. I think Derrick helped us. I don't like that they ask, "which protection plan do you want", while pointing to three choices. Naturally, most people just pick the basic, like the cheapest car wash, not realizing they don't have to pick one at all (a viable choice for people with coverage from premium credit cards), but that issue is with the corporation in general. Update: I was charged $60 for having "an additional driver". The agent asked if I wanted one and I said sure, but he did not inform me. In retrospect it is a little underhanded. I mean, it's not like saying, "you want cheese on that", but if the cheese is $60, you should probably say something. PS. We missed the gas station on our way back. As expected, we got charged. Keep in mind that mistake will cost you $11 a gallon. However, they let me pick up at Dallas and drop off at Austin without extra charges, so that was... um... thrifty. I'm just pissed they no longer sell ice cream!

My assistant tonight was very pleasant, thorough and able to multitask without being overly assertive as some people in a customer service oriented position can be sometimes. Every employee I came into contact with had smiles on their faces and I especially enjoyed my conversation with my very last point of contact. The young lady at the end that checks over your vehicle for damages, mileage, gas amount, and final check out was a "total joy"! This trip was a mixture of business with a dab of pleasure at the end. On my vehicle return to Hertz, I of course had to have someone pick me up at the facility parking way across the way to unload would've been a chore. Hertz employees assisted me with smiles and no problems! They were interested in my trip, enjoyment and welfare as well. Thanks Hertz! I'll use them again!
