    My son loves the Dodge Challenger... when we got here for our reservation we were poised to take whatever they had... then this pulled up straight out of the car wash. My son was ecstatic! (Truth be told he had been asking for a fun car on the flight over) We switched out what we had booked, they let us do it at no extra charge, and then took this beauty (wish it had been a different color) out on the road. It purrrrrred and roared... you can bet on that. This just added to the great time we had that whole weekend. What a great rental experience this was!

    I have always had a great experience with this location and have rented many times. Last week I rented a car and upon doing the walk around inspection I pointed out damage. The Enterprise employee assured me that the damage had been noted. To protect myself, I also took pictures. I just received a claim from Enterprise for that damage. I have tried calling Enterprise on two different occasions and I have sat on hold for more than 45 minutes waiting to speak to someone. I spoke with Lexi, the Assistant Branch Manager and I showed her the pictures in person. Despite that, Lexi stated that she could not help and that it was out of her hands.

    Hertz has the nicest and friendliest people working.

    They never have the vehicle you ordered in advance available, so you always get a lower-standard vehicle.

    Staff is not helpful including manager. I would try any other location instead of this one. Enterprise lost me as a customer.

    Been trying to call for 3 days and no answer. If my rental is $215 what deposit is due? Will my credit card be charged the rental cost on pick up? Or will I be charged an extra $200 deposit on top of the cost of the rental like most branches?

    What is the policy when using a debit card for a reservation?

    Just to clarify about deposits. If my rental is 125, you will hold 125. Is there a deposit in addition to this when using a credit card? Holding the rental fee, to me is not a deposit. Some rental companies charge additional deposit amounts.

The shuttle driver was nice and dropped us off right out front. Despite having Enterprise, National and Alamo on the building and what looked like 3 doors they routed us all into one building/office. The clerks made short work of the line. I was asked about my insurance company (not sure if that is new to rentals or just to Alamo or Texas) but they didn't harass me about declining coverages. They also asked my deductible. The staff assisting me was nice (I told her I wanted to go to Buc-ee's and she asked where we were staying and googled the closest one for us. I also told her I was excited Texas had Quik Trips and she told me there was one right up the street. I asked about tolls and was told "oh yeah all our cars are equipped for tolls." I didn't see the toll transponder I have seen in other major cities with lots of toll roads so I didn't think anything of it. We did not take toll roads our first day. I asked the people we knew who lived in texas what their toll tags looked like as I could not find it on the car (found out it is a T in an orange circle says toll tag or something like it). Basically told us to suck it up and take toll roads, fees be damned (because what can you do?). I was pissed and anticipated a large toll bill (and I mean it was a lot for 4 days but at least Alamo doesn't gouge you on the "fee administration" of the tolls like other places). We returned the rental car 1/2 and got the toll bill today. Tolls were $58.62 for 4 days and the service charge was $19.80. I don't understand how people afford to drive in texas if you can rack up a $60 toll bill in 4 days but my husband said they can afford it because gas is so cheap. Ok so after gas station talk we went out to pick out our car. There was a good amount of standard SUV's (our rental class) and we were told to pick. We were walking up and down the aisle trying to decide what to pick and a staff asked us several times if we needed help. We picked a black Ford Edge which was pretty new (only 4500 miles!) that was nice. It fit all our luggage and passengers. It had dual climate control, heated seats and the giant screen that paired well with my husband's android. It was a great car to tool around in the 5 days we were there. We had to gas it twice and when my husband said gas was $37 I was like "how small is the tank?" but gas was only $2.49 Gassed it before return and it was $7 We had no issues returning the car as we put in the address on our rental contract and there were signs. We got there when a shuttle was about to take off but they waited for us! Shuttle driver was super helpful loading bags and getting us to the airport safely and timely. I would rent from this Alamo again if in the area and will likely rent from Alamo in the future.

However, once we arrived to the rental car lot, we got into a car and tried to exit however there was nowhere for us to exit from, all exits had cars blocking them. There was nobody anywhere, and no phone numbers answered. We ended up having to uber for $125 and now are without a rental car for our vacation.

I asked a question about the deposit, wasn't my ideal answer but it was answered. Just didn't understand why I couldn't use a different card to hold the deposit. Once we got the car it smelled horrible of urine. Return went very well. That team was super nice.

The Shuttle was easy to find and it showed up right when I did. The office had a managed line. The workers were friendly. I think Derrick helped us. I don't like that they ask, "which protection plan do you want", while pointing to three choices. Naturally, most people just pick the basic, like the cheapest car wash, not realizing they don't have to pick one at all (a viable choice for people with coverage from premium credit cards), but that issue is with the corporation in general. Update: I was charged $60 for having "an additional driver". The agent asked if I wanted one and I said sure, but he did not inform me. In retrospect it is a little underhanded. I mean, it's not like saying, "you want cheese on that", but if the cheese is $60, you should probably say something. PS. We missed the gas station on our way back. As expected, we got charged. Keep in mind that mistake will cost you $11 a gallon. However, they let me pick up at Dallas and drop off at Austin without extra charges, so that was... um... thrifty. I'm just pissed they no longer sell ice cream!

My assistant tonight was very pleasant, thorough and able to multitask without being overly assertive as some people in a customer service oriented position can be sometimes. Every employee I came into contact with had smiles on their faces and I especially enjoyed my conversation with my very last point of contact. The young lady at the end that checks over your vehicle for damages, mileage, gas amount, and final check out was a "total joy"! This trip was a mixture of business with a dab of pleasure at the end. On my vehicle return to Hertz, I of course had to have someone pick me up at the facility parking way across the way to unload would've been a chore.
