i accidentally left my apple watch in the rental car they gave me. when I noticed that it was missing I immediately contacted them and submitted a lost item claim on their claim website. My phone was showing me that my Apple Watch was located by GPS at enterprise still when they emailed me back and said that they were not able to locate my watch. I tried to submit another lost item claim, but apparently there is a 60 day limit on how you could report an item lost, which is absurd. That watch was expensive and I need it back. also it is IMPOSSIBLE to get an american on the phone that is acutally present at the location, they route the call overseas every time. good luck you will need it. read more

After picking up the car, there were two lines at the exit with unreasonable wait time per car. It would estimate about three to five minutes per car. When it was finally my turn, it didn't take longer than a minute, as I'm used to at airports in every other city I've been to. My suspicion is that the detention was due to the booth attendants trying to sell fuel service options, rental insurance, or other add-ons. This is unfair because it eats into valuable vacation time. The company already had the opportunity to present those options before the customers drove off with their rental cars. Upon returning the vehicle and keys to one of the reception attendants, I was told I was free to go. However, he did not provide a receipt or ask if I'd like it emailed to me instead. The next day, I got a text message asking why I haven't returned the car yet. I replied that I did. For good measure, I also called to report that I returned the vehicle on time. Nevertheless, shortly later, I got an email with an updated rental agreement for an additional three days, with the additional charge pending on my payment method. So, I called to request that the rental agreement be corrected and the additional charge reversed. The agent said that my request was escalated. Another day later, I had not yet received follow-up from Enterprise, so I called and the agent again escalated my request. Finally, late that evening, I received two simultaneous emails. One had the corrected rental agreement. The other was from the assistant branch manager saying that my rental had been successfully closed. I learned my lesson not to return the keys of a rental car without a final rental agreement issued to me. Aside from those two issues, the employees were friendly, attentive, and prompt when I picked up and returned the vehicle. read more

I have tried calling Enterprise on two different occasions and I have sat on hold for more than 45 minutes waiting to speak to someone. Public Service Announcement: Enterprise rental car Crazy experience after needing a rental car. Just let you know how some large companies struggle with any level of customer service these days. Tuesday, the September 12th I rented a vehicle from the Oak Cliff location. I pretty quickly realized I was having some issues: 1. The tire pressure light comes on after a period of time on the highway but, when checked, the tire pressure is not low. 2. The car makes a grinding sound when you have to hit the brakes hard. 3. In addition, the car is nasty and smells like smoke but mostly concerned about the mechanical. Thursday morning the 14th, I tried calling the Oak Cliff location after they opened but no one would answer their phone. One time, someone picked up and immediately hung up so the phone would stop ringing. I then, called the 1-800 number and explained the situation and they said a manager would be calling me within 45 minutes to correct the situation. By the evening, no one had called so I called the 1-800 number again and explained the situation a second time. They said "no problem, they have cars at the Inwood location and they are near you. I'll send them a message and you can go by in the morning and pick it up." Friday, the 15th I went to the Inwood location and they refused to give me a car. They had no idea why the main number had said such a thing but they suggested I go to the Lemon location because "it's a big shop and they have a lot of cars." I drove to this shop and, same story as above...except this time they told me to go to Love Field. I drove to love field and called the 1-800 number on the way to confirm they had cars and they said "no problem we are reserving you a car but it will be at the National Car Rental spot." This didn't sound right to me so I confirmed this a couple of times. (It is the same company.) When I arrived at National, they basically said I was crazy for coming to National and walked me over to the Enterprise desk, and, you guessed it...they refused to give me a car. They said, "Go back to Oak Cliff and DEMAND they give you another car". (Not making this stuff up folks). I got back in the car, sat in the parking lot and called the 1-800 number. They escalated it and said "Love Field MUST give you a car. A manager will call you shortly to resolve this." And, you guessed it...I'm still diving the car with the warning light and waiting on that call. Whatever for me right? I'll just drive the smelly car with a warning light on. Posting this in the hopes that this sorta thing gets corrected for the future elderly or struggling person that gets issued a defective car and has zero recourse. I also, want to say this is no reflection on the kind overworked worker in the Oak Cliff location. This is clearly a corporate problem. read more

I have been an Enterprise customer for about 8 years(at least). I am sharing this experience because I am beyond saddened by the treatment I received at the Love Field branch. My Mother in March was diagnosed with stage 4b cancer and given a terminal diagnosis with zero treatment options for extending her life. I live in Idaho and had to fly to Texas to see her as much as possible during this time. I was able to afford 3 visits and on my third visit which would be to see her last days and be there as she passed was at a point when I had nearly exhausted my finances. I own my own business so the weeks that I was already away were making it difficult as well. I don't say all this as a victim but as a premise to this traumatic event. Being a long time customer renting many times for my business I knew that Enterprise allows you to use a business debit to rent vehicles without issue. I got the call that I needed to again make the trip to Texas and help with the last few days if I even made it at all. She was in pretty bad shape. I booked with my credit card that had a little balance left and knew that when I checked the vehicle out I could change the form of payment to my business debit having enough for a week to two weeks depending on how long I had to be gone. I got to the location, got into a vehicle and headed to the check out kiosk before rushing 2 hours to Tyler, Tx. When I got to the Kiosk I informed them of a payment change and the employee asked for my return flight info. I said that I didn't book it yet due to not being quite sure yet due to after passing having to make funeral arrangements and such. I asked if they could please due to my circumstances and was informed no way no how. I said fine I'll book the flight back and just change it as needed. Money I had to spend anyway. After booking it I showed the flight info and was then informed it had to be at least a 24 hour old booking(not sure the logic here). So I again asked for help getting this done and getting on my way so I could be with my dying mom. I was told no again and asked to please speak with the manager and was told that is what the manager on duty said. I had to exit the vehicle, walk back with my luggage to the Enterprise building and attempted to plead with them to please get someone that could help me. They informed me that they would not reach out to anyone and that they would get in trouble for doing what I asked. I understand to a degree but having managed retail and other business plus being a business owner presently know that I am never off the clock when a customer is in need. I got emotional and was starting to panic that I would possibly miss saying goodbye to my mom stuck in Dallas waiting on someone to drive 2 hours to get me and then 2 hours back to where she lived. My only other option which has put me into a bad financial situation was to dump my remaining checking funds on to my credit card and use it to rent the vehicle on credit. I will say the gentleman that helped me in the end was gracious and he had his hands tied by his supervisor who showed no remorse or the ability to offer options or suggestions. I finally left and on my way an hour late and mentally beat down by the employees at the Love Field location. I've never felt so insignificant before while trying to do anything with another business. Watching an individual waste away due to the terrible disease of cancer is the second hardest thing in my life, losing her was the hardest. Companies that have supported cancer causes but ignore their customers' needs when they are faced with the reality of Cancer is appalling. I just don't even have words for how bad I felt I was being treated. No apologies from employees. Not that I expected it or deserved it but I would have put the affected individual in the best thing I had on the lot and been beyond apologetic. I don't wish ill will on anyone and if I ever have the opportunity to help any of those individuals I would move heaven and earth to do it. I hope in the future Enterprise and especially the Love Field employees find more empathy in how they deal with people who are truly hurting. read more

It was my friends first time renting a car and the salesman who helped us didn't say more than 10 words. My friend didn't know what the rules were, what time frame is acceptable to return the car, what to check on the car, if to return back with gas or not... thank goodness for my friend that it wasn't my first time renting a car! First and foremost, we prepaid and reserved a Suburban months in advance. The day before we were suppose to leave out of town, the manger tells us they either gave the reservation away or did not have the Suburban anymore. No courtesy call, text or email letting us know they didn't have it. Second, Enterprise did not even attempt to Resolve the problem or did not even have a recommendation on where we could find a comparable vehicle within their own fleet of inventory throughout the Dallas /Fort Worth area. Their response was " you have to search for the vehicle yourself" Here I am with a dumbfounded look on my face thinking how am I going to get my family to our destination tomorrow morning. Again, prepaid months in advance, the evening we leave for out of town the next morning, and Enterprise Rental Car did not even care one bit. Their are too many other rental car places around to put up with this lack of Customer's care and frankly, complete disregard of the Customer's time and money. read more

We did have the option for an upgrade and Kitch went above and beyond all we can ask for, offered a car that we never even expected to be driving! He truly kicked off our very first visit to Dallas on a great note! He was extremely welcoming & helpful! Oh my, I really like Enterprise and have not had a bad experience with them until this most recent experience. Of course they did the whole "we don't have the car you rented, but we will upgrade you" song and dance that they always do. While an upgrade is cool my son had really rented the specific car because he was considering a purchase of that particular car so in this case we were disappointed. That was the smallest of the disappointments of the day though. We are non smokers and prefer cars, hotels, etc that have not been smoked in. The "upgrade" was dirty, had not been freshly washed, and smelled like a smoker's car. Add to the fact that they handed us a key and no key fob. We seriously had to put the key in the door or trunk to open them. Come on Enterprise, you can do better than that! read more

Rented again here about two months ago. The only car in my size was an Altima with 57,000 miles on it! It was a bit of a mess. And black in Augustus in TX. Usually I have a choose of cars. As I drove the left front tire kept registering as low. So on my two hour drive from Dallas to Tyler, I had to stop and add air. One at my place in Tyler I had to fill the tire every 12 hours. On my drive back to Luv, I stopped twice . I told them about all this when I turned the car in and they did nothing. I complained online and got a voice mail from the manager, apologizing profusely and adding two free rental days to my Advantage account. read more

We got in late after having a six hour delay due to weather and every single other rental car agency picked up there late passengers after hours except for enterprise. Not only did I have to incur a very large Uber bill they charged me double rate for the same car I would've been able to pick up yesterday since I'm picking up local same day. Horrible service, reserved a car under friends and family and when we arrived was rushed by agent and he ended up charging us to much making new reservation and more wait time. I have never had an issue with enterprise before but this was a horrible experience to arrive to dallas and receive poor service. Then we had to void transaction resulting in having to wait on a refund and then them recharging the correct price.
