Requested a check up on my softener that they installed in 2016. Jonathan Luna did a thorough inspection of the unit and found a faulty o-ring assembly in the control valve. This was causing the valve to leak by and brine was not being drawn from the brine tank. He also checked all the settings since I installed a larger resin column a few years ago. Made a couple of minor adjustments, explained everything he did. Very professional and super knowledgeable. Have been dealing with AWS for a decade now. The technicians have always been knowledgeable and polite. Whether installing my water softener, installing then upgrading my RO, or rebuilding my control valve, these guys have your back. He helped explain and show me how to change out my filters and how to turn off the system to the reverse off osmosis. He made sure that the reverse osmosis pressure was goo by taking the air out of the tank and afterwards he checked out the water softener system to make sure everything was working correctly. He made some adjustments to our water softener alerting when I mentioned an issue I was having. He found a problem with the water softener and fixed that. Quality - Nearly two months, we are quite pleased with the product (full water softener and RO system). Value - Based on the previous model we had, Life Source (which I would never recommend), I think this surpasses in every way to deliver a great product. Service - This is where AWS lost a star. For the most part (and I do mean most) they have an excellent team. They are eager to please and attentive to our needs. In our case we had a sales rep, Steven J. that came out and did an excellent presentation of the product and thorough testing of our water. There was absolutely no pressure. In fact, he left and we had not made a decision. It was after some more research that we called back and decided to go with AWS. The unfortunate piece, and no one's fault was delay in delivery, some 30-days later. Numerous emails were sent to Steven and he did not respond. He said that the installed would be handled by Master Plumbers which was not the case. We ended up reaching a point person at the main office to correspond with. The techs (a senior & junior) arrived and did an excellent job. Senior knew exactly what he was doing. I think the guy could have done it blindfolded. He was excellent. He said he was certified and trained in the softeners, but not a master plumber. And by his application of expertise, there was no doubt that he was well trained. They did their job and left the area clean. The softener is wifi capable, but they had to send someone else out to get it set up. Eventually it happened and while the app is not all that spiffy, it is nice to have. A few weeks into it, Steven came back out and tested the water and it did maintain a better reading which was proof the system was working as it should. I can say our previous Life Source never did that and we paid much more. The people at the company, like Theresa, are a gem to work with. I reached out to her many times to see the status of the arrival of the unit. She was pleasant and patient. Note, if I didn't reach out, she did and kept us apprised of when it would be shipped. Finally, after reading some of the bad reviews, such as leaving the area messy, or the high cost of the system - all i have to say about that is if something doesn't appear right to you, contact the AWS staff. They will work with you. Find a point person to work with. As far as cost, it is reasonable, go to a home show and do a comparison, that's what we did. And service charges, 15-minutes or an hour, gas is costly, the work and expertise these techs have comes at a price. read more

They installed a basic water softener in our new house and were about $1000 under the competition. Everyone I dealt with exhibited exceptional knowledge. I strongly recommend them. However, in my opinion it is easy to buy more water treatment than you really need . I needed to remove hardness to protect pipes and other areas that scale up. They offered several options that did that and more, including reverse osmosis. I stuck with what I originally asked for. read more

Because of Keith's wise counsel and help, we now have silky smooth, soft water throughout the house, and I know how to service and maintain my system economically and efficiently. Our dishwasher cleans perfectly, without spots or build-up on the glasses, and our son showed me how to run a hose out of the garage to wash our cars spotlessly. *+6/2025* Ever since their water softener was installed 3 years ago our clothes washing machine has stopped working twice. The first time it stopped working was 9 months after water softener installation by AWS. An appliance company repaired it for $265, it needed a new water inlet valve due to an unknown substance in the water. The second time was a few weeks ago. But this time we'd learned a little more and disconnected the water supply to find the same issue as before, there was what turned out to be resin beads from the water softener clogging the water inlet valve (thanks to a plumber friend for solving that mystery) Why was this happening? The original installation of the water softener was done wrong, with the pipes REVERSED. The resin beads have been leaking into our water supply since it was installed. I'm giving them one star only because they came out and corrected their mistake after we let them know. Mind you, no offer of compensation from management. I have had to shoulder the expense for repairs to the washing machine caused by their mistake myself. I do not recommend this company. read more

The water softener I have came with the house and was installed by this company. It's at 10+ years old and was not working as well as it needed to be working. I scheduled a maintenance for it to see what could be done to improve its performance. I sent a request through the website and was called the next day to schedule the appointment. They sent a text with the appointment information, sent a text reminder the day before and on the day of the appointment I was sent a text with the name of the technician that would be coming along with their picture. The technician even called me to let me know he was 10 minutes away, his name was Parker. Parker was very polite and informative during the visit. I watched him test the water and we discovered the water was harder than I thought. Worried about another big appliance expense, I asked what the most economical solution was to the problem. He was very understanding and explained he could Rebed the current water softener at the fraction of the price of getting a new one. He completed the rebedding quickly and even replaced a seal that was leaking free of charge. Is greatly appreciated that I was not charged for the maintenance visit, I was only charged the cost of the rebedding. The next day I noticed the change in both water pressure and softness of the water when I took a shower. I was very happy with the quality of service and integrity of the technician. We purchased our filtration system from Alamo 2 yrs ago. It was installed by their tech. Up until today service has been good. Today we discovered a water leak where the tech had joined together 2 pipes. It was joined by clamps and that is where the leak is. My floor and sheet rock are wet. We had to turn our water to the house off. We called Alamo and we're told it would cost us $250.00 for emergency visit plus cost of parts and labor. This was not our fault. So many other companies in the area that AWS should be last on your list. To begin with, they left my laundry room and garage covered in dirt, PVC pipe pieces, nails, and screws when they installed the water softener. They made 0 attempt to clean up. I called to complain and they sent someone out to half ass clean up. I'm still finding nails and anchors around the corners of my garage from their install 6 months ago. They also incorrectly installed my RO causing it to make loud noises and refuse to correct it. They I receive an automated email that it's time to refill my salt. After scheduling an appointment the tech comes out and says I don't need any salt, but he needs to leave the bags which cost 2x Lowes price because I ordered them. So why'd I get the email? I had two other companies come out. #1 wanted to replace the entire system bc they only work on the products they sell $5700. Company #2 said a bunch of muddled of Spanish between the two men and assumed we didn't understand. They actually jacked the price up 1500 based on the cars out front that we did not own. The gentlemen from Alamo had 25 plus years of experience (it could have been 23 ) he was thorough, listened to me, told me exactly what what was wrong. Came in on the low end of what we expected. We had Dallas come out to the house. He was very friendly and informative. We decided to wait and compare quotes from multiple companies. We decided to go with AWS due to the following reasons: Multiple reviews going back years on multiple websites. The company has been in business for years and I feel comfortable knowing they will be around in a decade and not have to change their name multiple times. No pressure sales call. (I despise sales people who get pushy and rude). Good responses on BBB and good score. Professional responses from business on negative reviews and looks for a solution. Multiple finance plans through a credit union and not a high interest credit company. Multiple options for a water softener. Now for the installation. The installation by Matt and someone who was helping him. They were professional and treated my home as if it was their home. They worked clean and did a timely installation and it did not seemed rushed. I have had no issues since the installation. They even put insulation in the attic around the new piping they had to install since I did not have a water softener bypass in the house. The employees I dealt with, Matt, Dallas and Theresa were all professional and seemed to care about the client and did not treat me as a number. Very honest company. They offer a fair price. We ended up getting the gold softener. I would recommend reaching out to them and at the very least getting a quote. read more

Long story short , explained to the front desk handling the calls, this repair cannot wait, since still leaking after valve was shut off. Paid for service December 23, 2024 and was told that they did everything but replace the filter because the filters were out of stock. They scheduled a follow-up on January 15, 2025 to install a new filter. They never showed up and did not call. I called on January 31, 2025 and left a voice mail requesting that someone call me and let me know the status on the filter. CRICKETS I called again today February 4, 2025 and was on hold for 15 minutes. No one picked up. Looks like I may have to just show up at their office. read more

I'm going to update this review because the real issue here was the wrong device sold to us for the city that we live in. We found out that the water in our city has chloramine, with that said the product sold to us was to remove chloride which in other cities that's the norm. By having a system that only removes chloride it breaks the chloramine, leaving the ammonia in the water. The product would have worked perfect in a place where the water only has chloride but it was more harm than good for a place that has chloramine. That is the reason our hair started to fall out in chunks and had dry skin. I suggest that moving forward you do a thorough research of the area before selling the product, to ensure this doesn't happen to someone else. read more

Have used them for several years now. Recently replaced out water softener, with great results. New RO filtration system put in about a year ago, had them come to diagnose a humming sound last weekend, and change the filters. Sadly there was an issue with it not working properly after this service call. Had a bit of a bump getting another service guy to come at a time I could be home. I expressed my frustration regarding this issue and today I got a call from James (supervisor) who said he would come himself at any time that would work for me, today. Replaced a Kenmore unit which we had for 8 plus years. The resin had disintegrated and we were having blockages in the aerators in the sinks and the screen in the feed line to the washer. Visited Lowes to discuss buying a replacement unit and installing myself. They indicated that AWS would call for an appointment to schedule a consultation on what options we had and was told they would call within 48 hours. AWS called within two hours and scheduled the appointment for the following day. We discussed and purchased a replacement. They were able to schedule the installation three days later as it was a holiday weekend. They showed up on schedule and did an excellent installation. They also installed a pressure reducing valve on the incoming water line to prevent resin breakthrough on the new unit. I also had them install a hose connection on the water softener outlet to facilitate rinsing of my vehicles with softened water when washing. They did a much better installation than the outfit that did the Kenmore installation. I am extremely happy with the entire process. Thank you Lowes and AWS. Super happy with our decision in March 2022 to have Alamo Water Softeners install our new water softener in our nearly 100 year old house. I'm writing this review after about two months with the system installed. Alamo Water Softeners was one of 5 companies I had out to provide an estimate. Estimates ranged from $3250 to over $7000 to trench, plumb and install my new system. Alamo wasn't the cheapest but their warranty and the feeling I got from them justified the higher price increase. After install I had a few more question on how the system worked after I briefly lost power to my unit. They sent out another rep to make sure the system was still working correctly and to show me what to check in the event of another outage. Overall project included about a 110-120 foot trench back from my water main to the detached garage in the rear of my property where the water softener was installed. Then it got tied back into my main line at the front of the property with a tie into my existing main sewer line for the drain. Two hard water hose bibs were provided exactly where I wanted them. read more

A few months ago, we made a decision my mom's house (which my parents built new and were never told a water softener might be a good idea, but I digress) definitely needed a water softener. Years of hard water buildup around faucets, shower-heads, etc. Made several phone calls (asked questions and received bids) and ultimately decided to go with Alamo Water Softeners. It was easy: I called, told them the situation, laid out the information, and based on what I said - they gave me their honest opinion as to what Mom needed. There was none of this, "Well, sounds like you need OUR special, 9-stage, intergalactic, award winning 12 pear shaped osmosis chambered water softener and filtration system at the BARGAIN price of $4,000.00!" some companies try to sell you (I may have exaggerated a bit, but not much). They simply said, "This is what is sounds like your mom needs, and these are the price ranges". Then, we scheduled a meeting and a technician (David) came to the house, explained the exact system they'd be installing, and answered all the questions we had. David was AWESOME! He was able to find us some additional discounts on a price that was already unmatched... Day of installation (since I couldn't be there) the technician was gracious enough to call me before he started and after he finished to let me know all the work was done at Mom's.
