Brought my son's old Trek 820 mountain bike in to fix up so he could ride it around campus at college. The chain was jumping off regularly and the bike generally shifted poorly. Dropped it off on a Saturday afternoon, by the evening Alan texted me with necessary repairs - some teeth were broken off the rear gear set and he had a spare for $15, and the chain was thrashed from jamming up so much and he replaced with a new one for $25. I also asked for a full tuneup which was sixty. Was ready the next afternoon and changed gears smooth as silk and everything worked like new. I need to acknowledge he is a warm guy and provided us good service while we were picking bikes. I used to consider the purchase experience as good and considerate, until I went there the third time for a repair/sell-back. He definitely knew that he was in the dominant role in asking for repair/sell-back fee. Even though I kept that in mind, I was still shocked by his arrogant attitude and ridiculous repair/selling-back fee. It was about two weeks ago, and I didn't submit the review until right now, just trying to be more calm and objective. I still feel being cheated when thinking how kindly he promised repair and selling-back services. I feel I was too naive to take his words seriously. It's alright if you just buy a bike and never come back. Otherwise, you should be prepared for some unreasonable rates he is going to provide. Generally I feel regretful purchasing two used bikes at his place. It would be much better to buy one new bike instead. read more

I took a mountain and road bike expecting both to need a full tune. Alan told me my bikes required much less than that and I paid less than a 1/3 of what I was expecting.
