I thought I would still come here and buy accessories and have my bike serviced here, but the employees here don't really care about their customers or customer service. On one occasion I came in to buy shoes, but they didn't carry my size. They told me that I would need to pay for the shoes and if they didn't fit, to bad so sad! How would I know if they would fit, if I can't try them on?!?!? Just take your business elsewhere. There are several stores around they Peninsula that sell and service Specialized bikes!

Had they taken the time to talk to me about switching parts, I would've easily been persuaded. I'm also a regular customer at the store. The fact that I was just treated like that saddens me. They simply don't care. That's fine if it's your business model, but the delivery was unnecessarily dismissive and came off as elitist. Not everyone rides a top-tier brand, and that shouldn't mean being treated like you're wasting their time. I was prepared to spend a few hundred dollars on a tune up and more for repairing my crumbling wheel, but clearly that wasn't the issue--the brand of my bike was. There are plenty of shops that value customers regardless of what they ride. I'll be taking my business to one of them. Note: I found a better bike shop that will support all bikes and treat you well well providing their service. You can avoid the snobbery of Cognition cycle. Go to Woodside Bike Shop. They're very friendly, very efficient, reasonably priced and they do great work. On the day of, he showed up on-time, checked out my bike and invited me to stay and watch so that he could walk me through what he was doing and working on and encouraged me to ask questions - I came out learning so much. He was even so kind to let my two Rottweilers say hi and hang out. Nolan is truly the nicest guy you'll ever meet, he's incredibly knowledgeable and is genuinely happy to talk bike stuff with anyone of any experience and skill level. Not…read moreonly was it dirty & dusty, I had a hard time removing the wheels, among other issues and I figured let's get it cleaned & tuned up so it'll be rideable. I brought my bike in for what I thought would be just a tune up only to learn that my gear shifters were also broken and needed replacing. What I thought was going to be only a tune up, turned out to be a bigger job with other little things needing fixing. I decided it was worth the price, otherwise I would have an unusable bike in my garage. It took under a week and my bike fixed and was as good as new. The cost was about $200 for the tune up, shifter replacement, grip replacement & labor. Now my bike is ready to go! Great job! I am very pleased with my bike and would definitely recommend them for your bike needs.

I am so GLAD to have found this location by the powers of Google as it's very close to where I live and traffic/parking will never be an issue. Recently, I've had 2 separate experiences within a week a week of each other. The first one, I was selling a bike on CL. A buyer living in Colorado asked if I could ship the bike and I was reluctant to do it. I suggested he call Specialized Bay Area to see if they can handle the packing and shipping of the bike, basically taking liability to get it shipped there. The transaction worked out perfectly where the buyer dealt directly with SBA on the shipping. Buyer Venmo'd me payment and received his bike in 3 days! Kudos to SBA for offering this service! The second experience. I was gonna go for a ride on the Levo this morning. Found a broken spoke. I texted the SBA and explained my problem, gave them a copy of my registration of the Roval wheels, and they said to drop it off any time. I stopped in @ 4pm on a Friday thinking to pick it up next week. One of the managers, Yoav replaced it on the spot, trued the wheel, lubed all the nipples, installed factory tubeless tape, all within 10 minutes! Best of all, the spoke repair was covered under warranty! Actually, the best of all was the staff were friendly and personable. :-) My bike was down for only a few hours! By far, the best experience I have had with a bike shop. I hope they stick around because I want I work here when I retire. Specialized for life!

Instead of routine customer service, the frontline cashier, Jigme, aggressively scrutinized the item, refused the return, and actively tried to intimidate me.While he technically offered a manager review, he immediately discouraged me by claiming it "wasn't worth it" and explicitly threatened that my membership account would be "striked" if I pushed the issue. Weaponizing corporate return metrics to scare a customer out of speaking to a manager is completely unacceptable behavior.I kept my cool and walked away, but this store's management clearly needs to retrain their staff on how to treat members with basic respect. I have already filed formal complaints with corporate customer care and am currently looking into canceling my lifetime membership entirely.
