I ordered an iced mocha and it was smooth rich and not overly sweet which is exactly what I look for. You can tell they care about the quality of their coffee and how drinks are prepared. The space itself is beautiful and thoughtfully designed with lots of natural light plants and a relaxed creative vibe. There is plenty of seating inside and outside which makes it easy to work meet someone or just enjoy a quiet moment. Service was friendly and efficient and everything felt easy from ordering to pickup. This is the kind of coffee shop you remember and want to come back to when you are nearby. read more

The coffee here is phenomenal! You can taste the freshness and the quality of their freshly roasted beans! I also love their Matcha, the price is here are very fair and the staff is always friendly. They are extremely hard-working and the lines move quickly. They also have great options if you are non-dairy and small snacks. I'm familiar with Alana's in Mar Vista, and when I learned about the coffee tastings I almost went to the Mar Vista location but it was being held in their new Venice location. I believe this used to be a restaurant but now this coffee shops fits right in the neighborhood. With indoor and outdoor seating, it's a nice vibe to enjoy a cup of coffee. I enjoyed their coffee tasting with other fellow community members and the director of coffee, brewing 3 types of delicious coffee that Alana's offers. Great place to pop in for coffee lovers. Seating out back with a kitschy camper; in front for sidewalk-talk and tiny inside for the studious writers. Roasted beans on site, this place is surely kicking "Boycott-Black Friday Big business" vibes in exchange to support the #Shop Small BUSINESSES Locally! Holiday delicious lattes right now! I've been here about a dozen times. Friendly staff, good lattes, at a reasonable price (at least for the area). Ton of seating, with an outside greenery. Dog friendly. The food looks great (what coffee shops has sandwiches and tacos alongside pastries lol), but I haven't tried it, but have heard good things about the hangover potatoes. What more do you want? The new Venice Beach outpost of Alana's Coffee Roasters is a huge improvement over the mediocre vegan spot that was there before. With an extensive selection of beverages and grab-and-go bites (tacos, burritos, sandwiches) from the Venice Beach "Grab n Go", it quickly has become a regular stop. Stumbled across this really cool coffee shop in Venice, not far from the Canals. The place was super inviting, and the outdoor shaded patio is such a vibe -- loved the furniture and all the plants. I'm a big matcha and chai lover, so I tried the "Pirates Chai," and it was SO GOOD. I raved about this place to my friends, so we ended up stopping back by later. I ordered the breakfast burrito, and it did not disappoint! It was super filling and could totally be shared. We hosted my husband's 40th at Alana's and couldn't have asked for a better experience! Chef Brandon and his team curated an incredible menu. Out guests are still raving about the food. The space is already so beautiful and needed minimal décor, and the team was wonderfully flexible in letting us add a few personal touches. This place is all about the vibe and location. Spacious patio...I occasionally spend an hour here working and get a straight-on view of the ocean. The coffee on the hand is not my cup of tea...it's not bad, but not to my taste either. The croissants are delicious and have enough consistency so as not to flake everywhere after a bite. However, all this comes at a premium price. $5 for a cappuccino and $6.5 for a Nutella croissant. read more

This Alana's is a hidden GEM! I always go to the Mar Vista location, but on a rainy day it was too packed to sit and get some work done, so I checked out this spot. It's in such an insane location -- right by the canals and across the street from the beach if you need a post-work walking break. There's a big airy indoor space, and a spacious patio in the back too, with plenty of seating. As Alana's always does, there's plenty of plants and cute hanging lights and lanterns in the back that are the vibe when I don't want to be locked in my dark home office. I almost don't want to share all this because I know it'll get packed here too haha but these absolute treasures of small businesses need our love so come do yourself a favor! Oh, forgot to say the coffee is delicious too but that's a given for Alana's. :) read more
