I cannot believe I've missed this place, because we live very close by. I was so pleased to discover such a great restaurant! We tried several menu items: the queso fundido with steak, the Alas tacos, and the fish tacos. First of all, they serve chips while you pause the menu. The salsa verde with those chips is just spicy enough - not enough to blow your head off, but definitely enough to produce a pleasant tingle. Super fresh, too, and can tell with every bite. The queso was also excellent - very rich, and I used that salsa to cut some of that richness, deliciously. Served with homemade corn or flour tortillas, too (we had corn). Next, they brought our tacos. Hot, fresh, and beautifully presented. The Alas tacos come with a slice of avocado atop the mix of steak and shrimp, in those same fresh made tortillas. So flavorful - the steak perfectly carmelized, the shrimp plump and perfectly cooked. The fish tacos are Baja style, fried fillets with a wonderful slaw of cabbage, onions, and mangos! The sauce that came along with them is good on everything! Everything is so fresh and delicious, and the service is warm and attentive without being intrusive. They warn that they are short staffed, but you would never know it. Even if there was a longer wait, I can assure you that it would be 100% with the wait. Mmmm. The tacos Alas were very good. With all the salsas. Dang they were tasty. Had the ceviche sampler with 4 kinds to go with it. It also was very good. Staff treated us well. Parking is a but confusing if you can't get in the street im front. But the food will make it worth it even if you have to park far. This is actually my 4th visit here, I love it. Everything Ive had here is absolutely delicious real Mexican authentic!!! Service and ambiance is always great. They redecorated and it wasn't undesirable initially but it is really really nice now. My only complaint will be that the waitress took too long with the bill and then handed me the bill though I was with my man. read more

I came here on a Sunday evening the wait was less than 15 minutes. There was about 3 parties waiting ahead and got seated as soon as patrons left. They disinfect the tables and guide you to your seats. We ordered some modelo Micheladas which are served in jars, even though our waitress swore we ordered corona micheladas . We also ordered 2 buckets of modelos to enjoy while I caught up with my cousin during our meal. They serve you chips and salsa which are pretty good and the salsa is flavorful. Signs of a great Mexican eatery. We ordered a dozen oysters, a 3 piece of shrimp empanadas, and an order of the K chupas shrimp which caught our attention and were highly recommended by our server. The food was tasty, the drinks were cold, and covid 19 guidelines were in tact. Micheladas 7/10 Flavor is there served in a big jar Oysters 6/10 Good Oysters only flaw is that they are so small Shrimp Empanada Trio 7/10 Crunchy flaky, & doughy exterior with a cheesy, saucy shrimp center. Pour some of that green sauce over the empanada for maximum flavor boost. K chupas 8/10 The highlight of the meal delicious shrimp with shell and head still on in a spicy garlicky sauce. The menu says it's spicy but the flavor is reminiscent of a Buffalo sauce mixed with a buttery al mojo de ajo. Be prepared to get your hands dirty with this dish peeling the shrimp and removing the heads manually. I like how the sauce tastes when you remove the shrimps head and suck the juices. Once the shrimp is peeled dont forget to re dip it in that sauce. I definitely recommend this spot to marisco lovers, and don't forget the cubetas. read more

I have been to many mariscos restaurants and this one is highly recommended. We went in towards the mid-afternoon at the end of the week and not packed whatsoever. Our waitress was really nice and helpful. We ended up ordering a couple of coctel de camaron, which was tasty. It was clean, and didn't have that potent sea taste. Plus the jugo was almost perfect, all we did was add a few squirts of ketchup. We also ordered the tacos de pescado which has very flavor and refreshing. I can't forget to mention that their micheladas were the best I've tasted in a long time. As we were leaving it did start to get crowded, just a little heads up if you're coming for dinner. Myself and my husband usually come by here weekdays since we are not a crowd. We come here not too often but one day we decided to stop in on a Tuesday; it was only us. They took a while to get our order and once she did, my husband ordered a taco and requested no cheese since he is lactose intolerant. She came, dropped off the tavo, and he went in to bite and he realized there was cheese all over it. He called her over and she didn't apologize she just said oh and said you want me to get you another one? He said yes I can't eat cheese. We told her he can't eat cheese and he touched it already, you can leave here and I'll eat it instead if my husband. I figured better someone eat it instead of going to trash. She looked at me weird and went and got her "manager" and the manager came and confronted me about it and spoke to me like I was trying to somehow pull a fast one LOL she really wanted that taco back. At the end, I said sure take it. I don't need it that bad just didn't want food to be wasted since you guys did made the mistake. She took it back, I guess to throw away or who knows. This place is small but amazing. The servers were all nice and helpful despite our large group taking over half the restaurant. Hands down some of the best Mexican food we've had. Even the chips and salsa on the table were good, especially that spicy salsa. Parking is a little hard but if you can't find street parking they have a small lot in the back. Bonus even their bathrooms were clean, which is great when you have kids. I had the shrimp enchiladas with a mix of red and green sauce and loved every bite. We were too full for dessert but all the kids got a scoop of ice cream. This is defiantly a hidden gem, just wish I lived closer to come back and try more. And don't forget to check out the bakery next door. We went home with a sack of pasty goodness. read more

I'm so sad that every time I find the right marisco place they end up disappointing. Either costumer service or the quality of food. Well this one was both. I always come here, the food is always delicious and the customer service has always been superb but today I left upset of how terrible the service was. I've never seen the waitresses before so I'm assuming I won't be the only one complaining about the lack of service. I can also tell the sea food quality has gone down hill. My tostada mixta didn't taste fresh and Had no flavor whatsoever. The people I also was with were upset of how bad their food tasted and how long the waitresses took to take our order and to bring things to us.
