Great caffeine JAN2025
Franklin M.

It was past noon and with the freezing winter weather we stopped by to enjoy some hot coffee. There were no customers when we entered and we ordered a mocha coffee, special hot thick chocolate, and a pastry. All three items we ordered were delicious especially that thick chocolate drink. They offer live music in the evenings.

My family and I were walking around downtown Fairbanks and came across this shop. We decided to pick up an ice blended drink to enjoy. The interior feels very mom and pop, lots of handwritten signage, random plants around, a small stage for performances, baked goods in the case wrapped in plastic like a school bake sale. Seems like a place locals would come to hang out, but personally felt claustrophobic to me. Can't speak on the coffee since I didn't order it but the blended drink my kids got was ok.

Let's start with the positive. Mocha Breve very good. Now on to the balance of my experience.... Visiting town, looking for a place away from hotel where I can sit down, relax, have an espresso drink and a couple of shots of espresso. I Drive about town passing by a seemingly endless variety of drive up shops only to stumble upon what looks to be a truly an inviting place. My request to the barista was, and I quote, "May I have a Grande Mocha Breve and 2 shots of espresso on the side?" Barista: so you want a hot cocoa and the espresso on the side? Me: I would like to have a Grande Mocha Breve, however it is made and then on the side, a cup with two shots of plain espresso. Barista rings me up and presents credit card chit to sign. I looks at it and notice that I've not been charged for the double shot of espresso on the side. I ask the barista about the 2 shots of espresso and paying for them... Barista: so, you want your espresso on the side? Me: I dont know how that (Mocha Breve is made or how many shots of espresso is in it... id like it made the way it's made and then another cup, with two shots of espresso. Barista: looks confused, says something like oh my God Me: you know what, let's do this and keep it simple.... I'd like that (Mocha Breve Grande) in a to go cup and leave it at that. Frustrated, the barista makes my drink whilst I fill out the chit, leaving $2 on a $5.50 chit, sign and submit. Keeping in mind the above exchange, I takes the high road and say to the barista, and I quote "I am sorry if I am not being clear on my order." She doesn't acknowledge my attempt... I get my drink and walk out... miffed, frustrated and going to drink my tasty espresso drink in my dang car. In summary, I should have went to the first dang drive through espresso shop and had my drink in the car while exploring Fairbanks and saved the SPIKE in blood pressure and still not getting what I asked for and a lot less attitude, frustration and angst. Have changed my rating to 2-stars vice 3-stars while rereading this review. Bummer... a really welcoming and eclectic vibe here.

Jalapeño bagel was good
Herb L.

Ordered dark roast and medium roast drip at opening. Both were good but medium was much better. Jalapeño bagel had a kick and was delicious. My son got the donut holes and he didn't like the chocolate covered ones. I tried it and it was okay. Service was adequate but nothing special. One lady was working the entire place and she did her job. I would come back and would recommend.

Nice and welcoming staff! I'll visit again when I travel to FB. A bag of coffee from Costa Rica is becoming one of my favorites now.

Friendly service, cute place but the coffee tasted bitter. They have a nice cappuccino machine but it didn't help. Yuck!

Quaint little shop with an old school feel. Service was good and coffee was maybe better than average.

Cute shop but I was told by the barista no wifi. So not a place to work on anything online.

The café has a cozy, welcoming atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed breakfast, brunch, or afternoon treat. Staff are friendly and attentive, making the experience feel personal and enjoyable. Whether you're a local or just visiting Fairbanks, The Crepery is a delightful spot that consistently delivers tasty crepes and a warm, inviting environment.

I was really excited to try The Crepery since the menu listed vegan options. Unfortunately, when we…read morearrived, I noticed that all the crepes were being placed on the same skillet once finished. That meant egg-based crepes were potentially touching the vegan ones. I asked if one skillet could be wiped down so I could safely order, but they weren't able to accommodate that (it also wasn't very busy at the time, which is why I asked). Because of this, I decided not to risk ordering a crepe. I did end up getting the hot chocolate, which was actually excellent. It was really well balanced, rich, and chocolatey without being overly sweet. Everyone else in my group ordered crepes and loved them, so it's clear the food is good. I just wish there was a bit more flexibility around cross-contact for people ordering vegan options or with dietary restrictions. Based on my personal experience, I would lean toward a 2, but since others really enjoyed their crepes and the hot chocolate was great, it feels fair to land on a 3 for my rating.

I ordered the Brr Berry, which was absolutely delicious. The blackberry soft top was out of this world, making the drink unique. The drink was incredibly refreshing and unlike anything I've had before. I also tried the trail bites and had all three flavors. My favorite was the white chocolate, super yummy. They're also vegan and gluten-free, which is great. They have a lot of drink options, along with some food choices. Overall, a really great coffee stop with creative drinks and friendly service. We only wanted a drink so we were in that line. I got a specialty drink - a pizookie but no salt (it's salted caramel) so I got regular caramel - iced. It was so good. Not too sweet, a good taste of coffee. We also mentioned how we were out of town and the girl at the window gave us a little treat!!! She was super sweet ! I wish I got her name. The line was pretty long but went by at a moderate speed. I came in Feb so it was only drive thru (I'm not sure if it's different without all the snow lol). Overall an amazing experience! If I'm ever back in town, will def be back!
