    Fried shrimp and chowder

The locals at the retail store told us about this place a little bit farther from the cruise ship dock. An easy walk for delicious food!! Staff was friendly and we got there when it opened so it was so fresh. Fried shrimp and chowder was incredible.

(Review written by my 13 year old) What's the tea big backs? I've got a big pot brewing.. It's Alavas Fish-n-Chowder! Delish and somewhat nutrish, this place has already caught my eye as a potential stamp of slay winner. But anyways! The service was fast, the food ATE, no crumbs, and it wasn't too pricey! When I first walked up, it was honestly giving food truck vibes and vibe was low key vibing!! I would personally recommend the fried halibut, and onion rings , they were sigma. Soooooo... yur. I can officially present the prestigious, perfect, profound stamp of slayyyyyyy!!!! ATE. THAT. UPPPPPPP. (No crumbs, %0 crumbs frfr). Gorl bye.

Tried the Cod fish and chips and a cup of chowder. Guy running the shop said that chowder was his mother's recipe. We liked it all a lot. Complaints to his momma.

    Cod sandwich

Scrum-didly-yum is how I would describe this restaurant. 11/10 fried fish and 11/10 friendly service. This place is no fluke and worth taking the free shuttle ride from the dock. The only thing I would be aware of is that there is only outside seating. When we went it was lightly raining but we ate in the mall across the parking lot. I got the sandwich but others in my group got the halibut or cod fish and chips but we all agreed it was delish!!

The menu is limited right now because the owner has been in the hospital, but the food they serve is worth a visit!

If you're looking for great fish 'n chips in Ketchikan, this is the place! The small building isn't fancy (quite spartan actually!), but the food is simple, consistent, good quality seafood served by the owner's family plus a little extra help while dad is recovering from a health scare. The fried halibut filets were fresh and cooked golden brown - and both it and the fries were crispy and hot because everything is cooked to order. It might seem a little pricy ($20 for 4-5 thick strips plus fries & cole slaw) but its location right across the street from the cruise ship berths makes it a bit of a tourist trap that can command these prices consistently because of convenience and great food. We stayed in town for a week and came back 3 times because it was so good every time! Give them a try when you're in town...bet you won't regret it!

Tiny little place serving great seafood chowder. Shared a table with a couple off the cruise boat, he was retired military. Great lunch!

Superb fresh halibut, light crispy coating. Delicious. If you want fresh and to know what halibut is supposed to taste like, try it here.

The line was pretty long when we arrived, and we ended up waiting in the rain for about 30 minutes…read more However, with cruise ships in port, that was to be expected, and the line moved surprisingly fast. Once inside, you place your order at the counter and are seated afterward. One thing to note: if you're a smaller party and the restaurant is busy, you may be seated with other guests. It felt a little unusual at first, but it wasn't a big deal. My husband ordered the Dungeness crab, and I went with the Alaska Sampler, which features three different types of fish served fish-and-chips style. The fries are their signature mesquite-seasoned fries, and honestly, they worked perfectly with the seafood. As someone currently working on a YouTube video about our Alaska cruise experience, I can honestly say this was some of the best fish and chips I had during our trip. My husband also loved his crab and said the meat was incredibly fresh, tender, and flavorful. They don't sell alcohol at the ordering counter, but once you're seated, there's a small bar in the back where you can purchase drinks. We tried the Double Shovel Appalanche Cider and absolutely loved it. Overall, aside from the communal seating, we really enjoyed our experience. I especially appreciated their unique take on fish and chips. Being originally from Cape Cod, I take my seafood pretty seriously, and this place definitely delivered!

We arrived around 10:30 am for lunch (lol) so, of course, there wasn't a line or crowd of people…read more They're located next to the lumberjack experience. The place is bigger than it looks as there are two dining areas. You order and pay at the counter. We went overboard and ordered three entrees of fish and chips because that's what they feature. Deep-fried Salmon, DF Cod, and DF Halibut. Plus, we tried their Smoked Salmon chowder. Cod was the best, Salmon was weird, and Halibut was good. The fries and chowder were also decent. Overall, we had a fine meal but nothing really stood out as outstanding.
