Went here right after the Lumberjack show and I'm glad we did. Much better than my crab stop in Juneau yesterday. The crab here was noticeably bigger and tasted more fresh. We got The Captain with 2 king crab legs and a whole Dungeness crab, plus the clam chowder and halibut fish and chips. Price still isn't cheap, but if you're gonna splurge on crab in Ketchikan, I'd do it here over my last spot. Best part was definitely the king crab. Big pieces, easy to get to, and the Dungeness was solid too. Clam chowder was good and hit the spot. Halibut fish and chips were decent for sharing. Overall 5 out of 5 for this visit. Better quality, fresher crab, and a more worth it experience than yesterday.

We made several stops throughout Alaska and had king crab at a few places. Unfortunately, Ketchikan Crab & Go was by far the most disappointing. We had king crab at Tracy's in Juneau first, and the difference was night and day. At Tracy's, $140 got us a king crab leg, 8 crab cakes, 2 crab bisque, butter rolls, and a half lb of Dungeness crab. At Ketchikan Crab & Go, we paid the same $140 for one king crab leg and a half pound of Dungeness crab, (that didn't include the mandatory minimum 18% gratuity, bringing our total to $182). The crab at Ketchikan Crab & Go had a fishy smell (which the crab at Tracy's did not) and was watery, making it seem like it had been previously frozen. Not the quality we expect, especially for the price. To make matters worse, our waitress, Alexandria, had a poor attitude and wasn't helpful. I don't mind an automatic gratuity, but being required to leave at least 18% for service where the waitress couldn't even be bothered to be helpful was incredibly frustrating. If you're looking for king crab in Alaska and have the chance to go to Juneau, Tracy's is 1000% worth it. If you're in Ketchikan, I'd honestly recommend finding just about anywhere else.

Crazy prices back in 2024, they have to be a lot higher now!

I'm not a big fan of the Crab and Go, but my hubby loves it. It's a small little crab restaurant located right on the water in charming Ketchikan. This is obviously set up for the height of tourist season, and the prices and menu reflect that. I am not sure if this restaurant is open for locals with more down to Earth prices, but be aware that you are going to drop some serious money to eat here. There's a crowded and loud indoor dining space as well as a small patio. Try to get on the patio (but watch out for the massive mosquitos in the summer)! Our last trip here was in early August and I squealed a few times when big yucky flying things landed on me while we were eating. We ordered the 2 pound crab leg ($184.95) and a Diet Coke ($4.00). Yes, you read those prices correctly. Soon after placing our order with the friendly server, we were brought a large cafeteria tray lined with red and white checked paper, two laughably small cups of butter, two puny lemon wedges, and two gigantic crab legs! When outstretched, they went from one shoulder to another. These things were massive! They were easy to clean, and we got a ton of crabmeat out of them. I was surprised how much meat came out, and it was a lot of food for the two of us to share. The menu is basic and, obviously, crab-heavy. This isn't the place for non-seafood lovers. They have a chicken tender basket for $20 or garlic bread for $5, but not much else for people who don't like seafood. The restaurant sells beer and wine and even has a sampler of Alaskan beer for around $20. Prices are high, even for a tourist destination in Alaska. Here are a sampling of the prices as of August 2024 (and I'm sure prices are even higher now): Clam Chowder: $15.95 Crab Fries: $24.95 Red King Crab Claw: $99.95 Fish and Chips: $32.95 Our total check with 8% tax but before tip was $207.77. For a crab leg and one diet soda! Was it worth it? Considering the taste of the crab and the restaurant's atmosphere (which is pretty low), nah. But considering the experience of noshing on giant crab legs in Alaska, I'd say you pay for the memory more than anything. Be sure to check your receipt, too. They can get a little "creative" with their math. The restaurant also charges a "service fee" that's separate for your tip. Of course always tip your server, but they ask for 25% tip, which seems excessive to me. I'm sure we will return to the Crab & Go next time we are in Ketchikan, and I'll still hold my breath when the check comes. This is an expensive place to eat for sure!

Best spot in Ketchikan for a a first class crab lunch. We all enjoyed the Greenhorn, crab, chowder and garlic bread. We were urged to try the crab cold, must say that's the best texture. Crab served hot has to be cooked a second time. This place is very popular so come early or be prepared for a 20 minute wait. Pagers call you back when the table is ready, so you can shop the local stores in the mall while you wait.

Don't miss out on the Ketchikan Crab & Go. With numerous options in Ketchikan's cruise-ship tourist hub, this place stands out for its top-quality offerings. The staff is exceptional--attentive and knowledgeable, taking the time to explain the menu thoroughly. Order your meals as they arrive and follow your server's suggestions for the best experience. You won't be disappointed, and you'll be glad you chose this spot. The red crab leg was impressively larger than expected. The Dungeness crab was bursting with meat. The Alaskan halibut was fresh-caught and fried perfection.

The red crab was sweet, meaty, and absolutely delicious. It was the perfect quick bite since we didn't have much time after the show. I would definitely come back whenever I'm in the area.

Greenhorn combo of king crab and fries
Ali F.

Food was delicious but it's definitely a tourist attraction. $$$$ for Alaskan king crab. We had the Greenhorn combo which came with a red king crab leg, clam chowder and a piece of garlic bread. The crab was the highlight as it was meaty and succulent and great with the melted butter. Our side order of fries was good. There are other menu options like fish and Dungeness crab if you don't want to eat king crab. Casual ambiance. The restaurant was busy but the wait for a table was short.

Colossal claw! We shared this colossal claw among two people so that we could just taste the infamous king crab - it was great! The butter adds so much too! Service was super quick even during lunch rush. Indoor and outdoor seating was available. They truly are the fastest crab joint!

Outstanding, attentive service with superbly prepared crab legs - thank you Nikole! If someone is reading these reviews to decide whether to eat here, trust me: do it!

Lovely original story, friendly staff. DELICIOUS crab legs!!! We were not too hungry and were thinking about some chowder only, but so glad we had the Alaskan King crab - meat super fresh, easy to separate. I recommend having it cold, with just a light squeeze of lemon. It's right by the port, short walk from dock.

Crab melt
Sondra Z.

We enjoyed this as a stop from our cruise. The crab melt was excellent but the crab fries were a miss and I found three pieces of shells or cartilage in them. The fries really need to be extra crispy to hold up to the crab and sauce and they were sadly limp and unappealing.

Mary W.

Delicious! The crab legs were very fresh and sweet. Service was super fast and friendly, really enjoy the food for this short stop in Ketchikan

Ketchikan Crab and Go owners, staff, and my dinning party

This place was amazing! We had an opportunity to meet and spend time with the owners and hear their story of meeting and creating this restaurant. They were very nice people, and the amazing staff were attentive, kind and very helpful. They helped with food options and suggested locally crafted bears. The food was amazing! We had multiple items form the menu selections. Everything was well prepared to perfection and tasted fresh. If you are looking for fresh food,, great local beer while sitting with an amazing view. This is your place.

Can we get the crab warm instead of chilled?

Yes, we can drop it in the boiling pot for you. We recommend trying it chilled and dipping it in the hot butter, it is more flavorful and how King Crab is eaten in Alaska. You can always try it chilled, if you do not like it, ask the server and we…

Not worth the LONG wait time for the BELOW MEDIOCRE Pizza…read more Came to know about this place after watching a vlog from a traveller. We reached Ketchikan on July 15, 2026 via Princess. The entire day was going well till we stepped into this place. The waitress was COLD and UNWELCOMING. We didn't think much about it and simply wanted to have a nice lunch and enjoy the outside view. We placed our order for the artichoke dip, one 10 inch pizza and another 15 inch pizza. We were told 30-35 minutes wait time. We thought it was ok and agreed to wait. We waited and waited. Even after 45 minutes there was no sign of our food. We waited for almost an hour and had to remind the waitress about our order. We even wanted to cancel the appetizer at this point. The waitress said that the appetizer was in the oven and cannot be cancelled. The appetizer came to the table after an hour. The pizzas were brought to the table after almost 1.25 hours. At this point, our patience was running out. We paid for the pizza, had them box it for us and we dashed out. We had few more places to cover before heading back to the ship. Overall, this was a stressful situation. Waiting for an hour and 15 minutes for mediocre pizza is absurd. And no. The Pizza was NOT outstanding by any stretch. I don't know if this was a one-off incident or they are always like this. But the cook and the waitress we had at the restaurant seemed INCOMPETENT. Do not go to this place if you have a time crunch. And don't believe the wait time from the waitress.
