Love doing my pick up orders here they are about 95% of the time so fast, and what I receive is great they look at my notes I might add.

How Do You Have 2 Checkouts Open on a Sunday?! 5 Stars for the bakery team: They were fantastic, efficient, and kept their line moving. Zero stars for front-end management: The checkout process was an absolute nightmare. The Scene: Sunday morning, the store and parking lot were packed. You'd assume a store would staff accordingly for its busiest day. The Problem: Despite the chaos, only two standard checkout lanes were open. The express lane was closed, forcing customers with full carts and those with just one or two items into the same sluggish lines. The Result: I timed it. It took 16 minutes to get through the line to purchase one single item. This isn't an exaggeration; it's a failure of basic operational planning. Until management learns how to schedule properly, I cannot recommend this store to anyone. The frustration is not worth it. read more

One of the only grocers opened on Christmas day along with its siblings stores (Vons, etc) and I'm grateful! Definitely did not plan out the holidays as well as previous years, but we got everything we needed and at fairly reasonable prices... It is your store after all (or so the old slogan would say). Albertsons of the High Desert is located in Apple Valley in shared shopping center with Walmart, McDonalds, O'Reilly's auto part and Taco Bell off Hwy 18 aka Happy Trails Highway. The Albertson's has a US Bank store branch (closed for the holiday, but ATM available) as well as a Sav-on's pharmacy (closed every Monday). You can find all the essentials from bakery to floral to deli departments and all your essentials... Beer, Wine and Spirits being on the pharmacy side entrance along the wall (technically the last isle of the store)... Was really impressed with some of the deals going on in these isles... including closeout specials (which of course were mostly gone giving huge red tag markdowns). Being so close to the famous Route 66, you can find some fun collectibles, gifts and souvenirs as well as some touches of R66's history. Being the only major grocer in Apple Valley open on Christmas day, it was plenty busy, however the Albertson's Apple V crew kept things flowing and somehow with more than enough holiday cheer... though that one gentlemen in deli was extremely upset with a customer who was giving him the worst x-mas with nothing but hostility... She blamed him for the department not being open like the rest of the store even though he didn't work in that section. She made him list off who she could've spoken to earlier to see if the department was open... I guess there was a misunderstanding because the physical store was closing at 3/30pm that day, but the deli department wasn't open at all... But she took that out on him O.O even though he wasn't there in the morning and had just started his shift. It was pretty wild... Like the overall layout of the store itself.. I think it's a very Albertson's thing. A lot of refrigerated items you don't see as much in other chain grocers... Almost all the dairy as well as non-dairy was behind glass, like the frozen goods and beer. I use the Vons app when shopping here, but you can use any of the ones affiliated with Safeway, including Pavillons,... Same number and/or account across the board. I was always impressed with how often this store ran donation drives for charity and I always donate when I can. I feel kind of bad when the cashier ask for a donation and I have to say no. I mentioned this to an employee that was helping me find some items a few days ago and they told me not to feel bad because the cashiers have no choice and have to ask every single person. I asked why and they said they are being threaten with write ups if they are caught not asking for donations. Well that's a ridiculous thing to threaten people job over, so I ask why would the company hang a punishment over their heads for this. They then told me the company makes a lot of money of this "donations" aside from the tax break they get, they pocket some of it as well. They said most of the times the stores start collecting donations from customers, the company already made the donation long ago for the tax break. So everything they are collecting from customers is going directly into their pockets to recoup the loses from the "donation" plus the tax break they get so it's all profit. Sometimes when they collect a lot of money from people, they put it all in a separate account, sit on it for a year, then donate the money and pocket the interest it accumulated in that year. This was very disappointing to hear. I will not be giving Albertsons anymore extra money and will be donating to charities personally from now on. Shame on you Albertsons. read more

Every time I go to the store, I swear I will never be back. I thought I'd give them another chance for some stupid reason. I got my produce and went to the meat counter and requested some turkey to be shredded. I saw how she was cutting it and I requested that she make it thinner. She said that was the thinnest it could be. That is not with the gentleman had done for me on my prior visits and it's not what matches the picture on the front of the meat counter. I will not pay for something I cannot eat! I have dental issues. There's a reason I need my meat shredded. I am not going back again! I left without buying any other groceries so I'll be going over to Stater Brothers to give them another $150 soon. read more

Worst Albertsons experience ever!!! Cynthia in the deli area is rude and unwelcoming she looked annoyed to be helping me and when I asked for more items she seemed to be upset I ordered two pounds of chicken wings that where terrible and so salty and inedible and a 16 piece chicken which thank goodness was good or I would have nothing for my guests I had over. just a terrible experience and I'm surprised because I love Albertsons do better Albertsons. Also Cynthia needs to be trained in customer service. read more

It seems that I am still blocked from shopping on line at the Albertson Super Market, this is very sad as what this tells me is they encourage this type of behavior, the text message came at around 5:30 am California time for me to confirm the shopping which I did not do, I call Albertson customer service # and I reported the fraud when I woke up, I also call my Bank and told them about the fraud charges. As soon as get through with BBB I will go to my Bank and get a printout of all my transaction, that is what my Bank suggest that I do as that will tell me where and who had place that order, I will also go to my mobile phone company to find out from that call originate from. I am doing all this for myself and to hopefully prevent it from happening to someone else. read more

The produce here is always so bad, close to expiring or already is while on the shelves. The wait in line is unbelievable!! They work slowly and never have enough cashiers. I would much rather go to Stater bros or Target for my needs. Do not recommend coming here for your groceries. read more

Was treated horribly by the store manager cass (the one with red hair) when applying for a job here twice. I originally applied for pharmacy tech and they were kind enough to wait until I got my license. During this time I had made a friend who I assumed was the lead pharmacist, she said she was retiring. I said congratulations and the store manager said "thats gossiping we don't want you after all", she sarcastically told me "maybe you can be a clerk if we ever call you back" and laughed at me before hanging up. I tried to defend myself and say I wasn't gossiping, I was just trying to make new friends, make conversation, and congratulate someone. But I could tell it landed on deaf ears, since they still treated me as some kind of freak. Most recently I applied here for clerk and Steve was the only person in management who was kind to me (or at least kind enough to not be rude to my face). But the store manager cass (red hair), told him he can't hire me and that I would "be a problem for the store". I have been bullied ever since 4th grade until graduation and even after that, and as an adult I thought I wouldn't have to experience that again. But it turns out there's still people who like to act horrible and bully others, like how cass the store manager was treating me. I will be calling corporate to tell them everything (not that I expect corporate to do anything). If they treated me this poorly before even being hired, I could only imagine how badly they treat their employees. Which is also probably why so many people are leaving (they told me that during the interview). Funnily enough the store manager gossiped to me about her employees behavior yet apparently she is allowed to do that. Anyways thankfully 2 Albertsons locations down the hill I applied to this week treat me very kindly and have been interested in hiring me. So I think even though it's a longer commute, I will accept their job offer. I advise anyone else to do the same read more

Albertsons is a pretty good grocery store but honestly, I don't believe they have many name brand food options. The store appearance gives me a stater bros vibe but some of the food options gives me Aldi's vibes. Not taking anything away from them. They are still appreciated. I have been shopping at this store for over thirteen years. Recently over the past few months when I shop here, a security guard will follow me from the front door, through the store, and all the way to the check stand. I am a middle age man, and I usually wear a uniform, and I shop there a few times a week. What happened to "3's a crowd?" This store has been horrendous. It's now been multiple times at different times of the day (morning, afternoon and evening) that there are not enough cashiers, including the express lanes. I've been lenient on multiple occasions before writing a review, but it's about time. I see store employees walking about, minding their own business, when there are lines down the freezer aisle, and lines curved around the main walkway. Two check lanes open, with extremely large lines. I timed my checkout, and it took me 18min:46sec from my spot in the checkout line to reach the sliding exit doors. Tell me why it took so long to check out? This was my first time timing the checkout process... Regardless, I spend more time on average in a checkout line than I do grocery shopping for the entire week. Utterly unacceptable. read more

Horrible!! Always messing up rx, refill rx from old ones on File after the doctor changed the script. They dont know how to enter mfg. Coupons,texting system is always sending texts and we go in and there is nothing in and staff just says we cant help you. Yesterday, my elderly mom was scammed on the telephone. She was told she had to go to Albertson's to get gift cards. My mother went to Albertsons and purchased 8 gift cards. The cashier questioned her as about buying the gift cards. The cashier recognized this as a scam and refused to sell her the gift cards. The scammer called on the phone and the cashier even stood up to these crooks on the phone. This cashier saved my mom thousands of dollars. I don't have her name but thank you very much for saving my parents from losing $4000 dollars. read more

The store was clean and well stocked. The young folks at the Deli counter where The cheese and meat is sold, we're polite but acted as if I was a nuisance. Very cold politeness coupled with barely concealed irritation. Not a good experience. The girl threw about a pound of meat in the garbage and mumbled something and went to the back for more. Went in to get my flu and pneumonia shot. As I was checking in I asked what the wait time would be and Anna the cashier said 30 to 45 minutes. I asked if it would be better for me to go online and make an appointment for another day and she said it doesn't matter we take 1st come 1st serve anyway. I pointed out the sign that was in front of me that says make an appointment and skip the line, she said we don't do that here anyway. As I was telling her I didn't think that was very fair to have that sign and not abide by it she got very belligerent and started talking over me, eventually putting up her hand in front of me like my opinion didn't matter to her. This person has no business dealing with the public especially in a medical environment. I went someplace else to get my shots because at this point I don't think I would trust them to give my dog a rabies vaccination. read more

I gave it 2 stars because they have great selection. We got to the register and it was quick since the market looked like a ghost town, super empty. The older white lady who's store badge , read assistant manager was having a really great convo going on with the person being rang up, he was an older white senior citizen. Everything was peachy. They even offered the man 2 quarts of milk for the price of one, for some reason. Which was super cool. Here it goes, when it was my girlfriend and my turn , the cashier seemed irritated all of a sudden. To break the ice, I said, the store looks like a ghost town, she replied no, no it doesn't people are just out doing what people do on Saturday's. She seemed really pist, she asked if we had a phone number to enter , I said no originally and then my girlfriend said , I'll enter mine. There was two other store employees nearby , who just pretended they didn't hear anything. I get it, they're not trying to piss of their boss. Point being , we're an interracial couple who are both women. It sucks this lady represents Albertsons in Apple Valley. It was very humiliating that she was trying to just make us feel like crap , somewhere we spend our money. I hate this experience. She starred at me dead in the eye and laughed. I was at this Albertson's location this evening and the manager, a woman named KATHY, made her employees and the customers around extremely uncomfortable, including me. She rudely told two of her employees how inappropriate their plain colored t-shirts and jackets were, although the most inappropriate thing about the whole situation was her attitude and her low-cut, revealing, top. She then walked away, and started whispering with another coworker, presumably gossiping about the whole situation. I would suggest she ensures her wardrobe is following dress code next time before allowing her to comment on others, because this sort of behavior is unacceptable. read more

Ok, didn't know this place was a hit or miss with customer service. In the past, I had to return a bag of cookies that contained a questionable item baked into one of the cookies and the lady at the customer service desk was the nicest ever. Great job. Tonight, the manager (of all people) had such a strugglebus handling a price check on a bag of shrimp that rung up more expensive at the register than what the sale price was and would NOT stop arguing even when confronted with the correct sale price vs. the price that showed up at the register. Lawdy lawd. Avoiding this location from now on if this is how management handles a conflict. read more

albertsons does not value customers. the higher ups make alil kinds of rules on sales which makes it more difficult to purchase the sale item. on my last visit I was told that I could not get the sale price if I obtained item from the meat counter. I would have to purchase from the packaged meat. so I went to packaged meats. some of the meat was not available in the package and other meats had to be carefully scanned as it is the right meat but not the sale price so one must be very careful. I also purchased soda on sale but was not given the sale price. I called the store and was told to bring my receipt and they would make it right. I brought my receipt, customer service was closed so I asked one of the checkers to page the manager for me which he did. 10 minutes later no manager. I checked with the person who informed me that the manager was on break. I left the store thinking they clearly do not value the customer or his/her time. now I will need to go back to the store and try again. this was their mistake but I am the one inconveniced. it's about time to cross this store off my list of places to shop.
