My wife and i have going to the Fallbrook Albertsons for as long as we've been living here in Fallbrook (6 years) and we love it! Okay, they're not the cheapest place to ship for groceries but my experience has for the most part (98% of the time) once or twice in 5 years had a incident with an employee, but that person no longer works there. That being said, we love the current staff! Just wanted to give a shout out to Irene, Kate, Jonathan, Anna and the rest of the Albertsons crew! The staffing is friendly and helpful. Some of them even greet us by name (added bonus). Ive been happy with selection at the deli and i must agree the fresh baked cookies are awesome. Other than having everything i need from a grocery store for me and my opinion the staffing us great from deli to bakery to butchers to starbucks kiosk...okay we love the staff! read more

We've now bought three things of rotten food from them. First was milk and when we went home and opened it it smelt like rotten eggs. Second was creamer, when we went to use it the next morning it was more like cottage cheese. Third was eggs, we all ate them a couple days after we bought them and felt sick, but my almost 2 year old got it the worst. After some testing turns out he had salmonella poisoning. I called today and the worked was very nice over the phone... but after getting literally poisoned, I don't think I'll be buying very much produce and dairy from them anymore. read more

I went on a Friday for the five dollar specials and other items. the five dollar special Signature Cheesecake's were all gone as the 18 pk of diet Coke at 2.00pm. The Isles were empty of food. I also wanted the pkg. Aidellis meat balls on the fab 5 and no one new where they were, asked 5 different employees. I have always loved shopping at Albertson, but times has changed. This store is wonderful, except for the lady who looks like her hair and makeup are stuck in the 80's and works the self check out stands. She's so passive aggressively rude and hovers the entire time, making me mess up requiring her assistance once again. I'm competent, I know how self check out works. She needs more kindness in her soul, I feel bad for her honestly but someone needs to check her passive aggressive attitude towards costumers. May I add, I've lived in fallbrook for 5 years and this is the grocery store I always go to. Every encounter I have had with her has been exactly the same, very unpleasant. Alright it's time to come clean about the whole (order and get it delivered to your trunk) thing. Its not the best option if you want what you want and now! Many of the deliverers barely even put any effort in getting what you need. How do I know? Well when we did it to give them one last chance, these people didn't give no were not our groceries we wanted and did the opposite. We asked for toilet paper, but no we got paper towels and when we got in the store THERE WAS TOILET PAPERRRRR!!!! When we asked for cat food they didn't give it to us and once again found it in the store our selves. The workers that do delivery are teenagers which 'not to be rude' kinda suck at their job and think they're funny for doing mistakes and yet we still tipped them so please don't do the same mistake we made and just go in the store if you want what you want. One last thing, Albertsons have someone that has good reviews and has empathy during hours to supervise these teens so they are actually doing their job or don't hire people who have no idea what they're doing. read more

Just want to say I went in to order two cakes for my mom and boyfriend in a few weeks and Esther In the bakery was so nice friendly and so willing to drop what she was doing to make sure I got what I was looking for she could tell I was trying to decide on something and right away asked me if I needed help. She has such a positive attitude and vibe... majority of the staff are friendly and helpful but today she really stood out! This was our go to store, but they now allow non-service dogs inside & I saw one urinate on the canned food on a lower shelf. The manager did not seem overly concerned. Yuk! Maybe we should start shopping at Major Market or Daniel's. Note: Albertson's please place signs on your doors indicating that non-service dogs are not allowed inside the store. Ordered my son's smash cake here for his first birthday. I ordered over 2 weeks in advance so they had plenty of time to figure it out or call me with questions if they didn't understand what I wanted. I ordered a beach ball and wanted it in the shape of a dome and colored like a beach ball. What I got was a crappily spray painted regular round cake. It was not a dome and did not even resemble a ball. It had quartered portions of spray on color but all the color was overlapping and it literally looked like vomit where the blue met the yellow. I was so upset and was almost in tears. At first the woman tried to blame the young man who took the cake order because "he's new and must not have described it well enough" but I had the yellow receipt which read "beach ball - shape & color" so I don't understand how much more descriptive the poor kid could've been. The lady offered to redo it for me and gave me that ugly one for free so I just said ok let's try again. I also ordered cupcakes to match and they just did the same spray paint down the lines of cupcakes so the red ones had blue paint on them and the yellow ones had red paint, it was horrible but I paid for them anyways cause I didn't want to fight and have them purposefully screw up my second cake. I asked them to use food colored frosting for the redo cake so it wouldn't look ugly and they said it was "too many colors" even though it was only 3 colors. So I asked them to at least keep the colors off of each other and not be so sloppy because I didn't want the colors mixing and she said she'd make sure that the decorator kept it cleaner looking because she agreed that it was very sloppily done. Anyways, this was 9am and they said to call back and that the cake should be done by 11am. Well they didn't finish it until 1:30 which was way past the time I needed it by. I had to leave my sons party to go pick it up and when I got there I broke down in tears. The cake was a dome shape this time but the coloring almost looked worse than the first time. They literally put in ZERO effort to make it look decent. I told them I was extremely upset and wouldn't be paying for that cake and I couldn't even handle looking at it so I just left. I got a picture of the first cake but forgot to take one of the second cake because I was so overwhelmed at that point. I ended up just buying a crappy little cake that was premade and put some little plastic balls on top for my son to play with. He loves ball, hence the beach ball and pool party theme birthday he had. He ignored the cake during his photos and just played with the balls on top which is why I wanted a ball cake in the first place. I'm a photographer so it was really upsetting that I wasn't able to capture his photos the way I had planned special for him. I will NEVER order anything from Albertsons bakery again after this experience and I highly recommend ordering elsewhere if you want your cakes not to look like something my toddler could decorate....actually I think my 3 year old could have done a better job honestly. Wow! Very impressed. We shop at Albertsons often but mostly in Escondido and San Marcos. However, we're relatively local to Fallbrook so we visited this store this evening. It looks like it's recently renovated and it is very clean and everything in the store was top notch. Meat looked amazing. Produce was super fresh and there was amazing variety. I have lived and shopped at Albertson's for 24 years. In the last 2 years I've seen a decline in the company. Over the summer I stopped going to this store, the meat counter is not customer friendly. I asked for soup bones and was told "we don't have any, the butcher comes in the afternoon." So in the last week I've decided to give Albertson's one more chance (miss some of the employees) and wanted to purchase Seneca Apple Chips. Most stores carry this product year round; Winco, Ralphs, Smart & Final. But not Albertson's told that it was Seasonal and its the buyers who choose the products. Albertson's your buyers SUCK! High Prices and low quality store! One of the store managers needs help! The prices in this location are higher than when we are at our other home in Laguna Beach! This market had a remodel but was left behind in the chain for sure. The store we visit in Laguna Beach area is by far a nicer location and offers a full service bakery with fresh cooked food as well. The departments at the other location are set up like a small farmers market inside with twice as many service employees. We understand it is your Fallbrook location but come on please have more specialty items. I am sure you would be pleasantly surprised at how the public here would support this location. As it stands we visit this place only for emergencies. The cashiers are pleasant and try their best.. Cold cut meat service area needs a lesson in cleaning and servicing customers. WASH YOUR HANDS before you start touching and slicing meats from customer to customer. On our last visit one of the male, thin, about 6' tall, blond hair store managers was seen scolding and demeaning one of the younger employees in the isle for all of us to hear. He did it in such a low and vulgar way we almost wanted to tell him off for the poor employee then and there. It left us with the opinion he has issues and needs a lesson in how to manage and treat people by showing and investing in them to have them care about where they work rather than hoping to get by long enough to get out of the place! This review is in reference to Employee Denise. I came into the store today to purchase some lottery tickets and Denise was behind the counter assisting With customers purchases. She must be having a bad day or it's just her personality to be rude. Denise definitely needs to learn some customer service training. I work in the hospitality industry and would never treat a customer the way Denise treated me. When I asked her why she was being so rude to me she started to argue that she was not being rude just having a tough day. Denise would be better off bagging groceries so she has minimal customer interaction versus working to register where you need to know how to talk to people and treat them politely with respect. read more

This store is okay to go to and has a wide range of selection. Produce is sometimes a hit or miss. I've boughten some fruit that went bad within a few days. Also, sometimes you can see the berries at the store with mold and need to be pulled immediately. Dairy is okay. I usually have to double check the milk or yogurt, as the date is coming up. Other than that, they do have a nice selection. If you're waiting for meat at night, you end up waiting awhile for a clerk to show up. I usually just pick out how much I need from the pre-packed meat. There's been a couple of instances where if you were looking for something and needed to ask where it was, there was no one around, or the employees are too busy stocking to notice you need help. Another instance was a courtesy clerk didn't know what a marinade bag was and sent us on the wrong aisle. If you happen to check out with WIC, be prepared to get a customer with a rude comment and the employee agreeing and answering back and really not knowing your situation. Employees need to be re-trained on providing excellent service, leaving their home life at home and smile a little more. read more

I shop here alot. Expensive, but if you look at the weekly deals and use coupons, it can help a bit. For me, its simple: chicken some veggies and usually sandwiches. If i see a good deal on other stuff, ill stock up on. Things like frozen veggies or canned goods, water and what not. Can get packed sometimes but lines move rather quickly. Need to look more into the other markets around here, El Tigre, Major Market, Northgate, etc... read more

Hi, I agree with most of the previous reviewers here. the prices are a little high on most items. However, it is true that there are always a few good items to buy or are on sale. It is a good place to shop for convenience but if your looking for cheap prices and great customer service---look elsewhere. This is your average grocery store and yes the lines are usually long. They need to manage there employees better instead of having one line open and three other employees in the store walking around the store doing whatever else it is that they do. I would suggest you only shop here when you absolutely have too and when you need to pick up something you forgot to buy somewhere else. read more

I come here every so often and the customer service hasn't been the best, but today will be the last day I go to this location. This may just be an established and clean place to purchase groceries, but providing customer service is part of their employees' job description. I did self check out and a certain deal did not apply to my total, so I looked for the woman that was supposed to be monitoring the self check out area and waved her down because I got locked out of the system when I tried to review my purchase. She did not greet me, reluctantly got me back in the system and asked me what I was trying to do. I told her I wanted to make sure the deal applied to my total and she replied (in a very disrespectful tone) "Well it makes sense that's your total" and I asked her how and she said (in the same tone) "After tax and crv, it makes sense that's your total." I told her "Ok, If you say so" and she repeated herself with "Well if you add tax and crv, that seems right." I was not trying to figure out was 'seems' right, I wanted to verify a deal their store was offering was calculated off of my total. It was a bigger waste of my time than the dollar or so I would have saved arguing with this woman that did not want to help or, at the bare minimum, talk to a customer with respect. read more

There's nothing different about this grocery store from any other because it is just that. Strangely, it's not the only major grocery store in town, there's El Tigre nearby, another cool grocery store that specializes in Mexican products too. I think there's another Mexican store that opened up on the northside of town too. And Major Market! If I forgot about some of the smaller mom and pop stores, I'm sorry? But, I digress... But what is special about this Albertson's is that if you're looking for coffee and the local coffee shops are closed, the only Starbuck's in town is found INSIDE. How's that for some inside info!? I find that in comparison to the other mom and pop stores in Fallbrook, albertson's has some jacked prices. And that's WITH their "value card"!!! They're great for things like birthday cakes, special brands or special foods, and last minute items you forgot. They're also great if you're a vampire and like to do your grocery shopping at 11:30 PM. There's a redbox machine right inside the doors too. The checkout lines here? FORGET IT! It's almost as bad as Walmart, with lines stretching down the front of the store and 1 poor, over-worked cashier struggling to get everyone through. Customer service here is average. With the exception of a few stellar employees, it's just your standard "hi, how are you" greetings and "thanks for shopping" when you leave. Pretty much what you'd expect. read more

I came in and ordered three 3ft subs for a meal for church. I was not sure what to expect, but took the chance because the price was decent. When I unwrapped the sandwiches I was blown away at how great they were. The amount of meat alone was way worth the price of these subs. The toppings were plentiful and fresh. Everyone was amazed at the quality and taste of these outstanding subs! I will never even think of subway for a party plater again. By far the best value and quality of any sandwich shop. I would highly recommend the deli department at Albertsons for any party. They don't just make chicken!! So grateful for the time saved and money saved by using the deli department!! read more

I agree that it can be a bit expensive without coupons, but the new preferred savings card actually does save you money and build up points for free food which has been nice. Strangely enough, it seems that I am the ONLY 'review writer' that LIVES in Fallbrook (to this date). Albertson's prices have gone SKY high...just like everywhere else. They still have the WIDEST variety of everything... more than anywhere else in town. There are some things I will buy ONLY at Albertson's, and others I will buy only at Major Market, and Fresh and Easy. KUDOS to MAJOR MARKET for supporting LOCAL growers. It really pisses me off, first of all to see avocados at a ridiculous price, and then to see that they have been IMPORTED from Mexico, when we live in the 'Avocado Capital of the World'. There are lots of organic growers (not just avos!) in Fallbrook area...Albertsons should TAKE NOTE. And we wonder what's happening to the 'agricultural landscape' of San Diego County. I don't know when the reviewer who complained of 'WalMart like' lines here (Superbowl?)...but '3's a crowd' is the standard at this Albertsons. We all miss the manager who had to move to Temecula/Murrieta? But we still have GREAT employees here. For a 'chain store' they offer a great 'hometown' welcome. YES the prices are sky high, but what's worse is wearing yourself out shopping and get home for that fine cup of instant coffee you were craving and GET MAJORLY SICK ON IT, AND WHAT WAS IN THE CONTAINER DIDN'T EVEN HAVE THE RT KIND OF COFFEE IT WAS LABELED AS! ** Then when I asked my husband if he USED HALF of the container's worth of coffee during the night (As when I used it for the first time in the AM it had already been OPENED & 1/2 gone!) my husband said he never touched it since I bought it late last night. He never drinks French Vanilla and no one lives in this house BUT HE & I. THEN after being sick all day long from that sickening tasting Coffee, I started thinking about the day that I bought out all French Vanilla coffee 3 MONTHS prior during a SALE day and I remembered that there was this one very LIGHT WEIGHTED French vanilla there that day, that stood out because all the rest of the containers were much heavier: and because this particular one's contents was extra shakable/louder sounding to shake! So by this I opened the container and saw that it did NOT have it's white plastic SEAL on it and I was shocked to see this coffee being half way down like 1/2 USED ! I was in an extreme rush that day that I didn't take it to a Manager, but I did tell the Checker checking out my 10 (full and unOpened) French Vanillas that he needs to have someone remove the used French Vanilla from that shelf back there. So it has dawned on me now that indeed this DFRENCH VANILLA bought last night HAS TO BE THE VERY SAME apparently TAMPERED WITH FRENCH VANILLA **with at least 2 more months of public and possibly some real SINISTER contamination that has been happening to that particular coffee! I am physically SICK by what ever has been mixed into that coffee, and I don't know if I am going to die by tomorrow from POISONING! I wish I could have the Police gather prints off of it, but after 2 months, I am sure it has been picked up and set back just as I did, by maybe 100 more disappointed /shocked people, so the PRINTS of a culprit would surely have been covered over 200 times by now! I called and spoke to a young sounding male manager who just said come back and he'll replace it. Yeah well i am too sick to even DO THAT, and as a disabled person going to the store is a most wearing ordeal for me, not to mention my time and GASOLINE! Please replacing it does cover my pain and SUFFERING! This seems more like something the Health Department should look into and certainly TEST the Contents of what weird sicking taste really is inside for the rest of it. So if you shop there BE SURE TO CHECK FOR ANY PRE-OPENED OR TAMPERED WITH CONTAINERS! Also they sell old meats & out dated FISH cheaper that are half gray & greenish, & don't smell SAFE there, AND many times have slit holes and tears in the packaging! YES we have gotten real SICK over these "MARKED DOWN FOODS" in the cooler area of the rear of the store. All i ever got was a Refund. I even have had to return their pre-sweetened Green Leaf TEA that had MOLD floating inside! Someone has been failing to KEEP THAT BRAND ON ICE, and NOT on the shelf where the Cola's and other UN-Sweetened teas are sold! I believe it is the SUGAR in the Green Leaf bottled TEA that ferments FAST if it isn't kept really COLD CONSISTANTLY! Another thing the really BOTHERS ME is there are big time DRUG "COOKS", Dealers, robbers and Pimps in this town THAT I DO NOT APPROVE OF HAVING to STAND IN LINE NEXT TO SUCH LOW LIFE'S AS THEY STOP IN THERE ONLY TO PURCHASE THEIR WEEKS SUPPLY OF "BAKING SODA" TO MAKE THE CRACK AND METH THAT HAS RUINED THIS ONCE NICE TOWN! YES THESE CREEPS POSE AS YARD WORKERS AND MACHANICS, THAT "CASE OUT ALL YOU HAVE " AND ROB YOU AND MOLEST YOU FIRST OPPORTUNITY THE GET! AND BE WARNED: THEY WORK WITH HOMEY TEAM MATES AT IT! I was driving back home from Vista today and got caught up in the fires off the 76, well I plugged Starbucks into my phone and it directed me to this store. I was really stressed out because I had another appointment in Temecula and I was not going to make it, so I asked the people at Starbucks for help, not only were they helpful even the customers got involved and helped me.
