My poor rating is strictly based on the attitude the girl had who was working the self service check area this evening at 7:30pm on December 22nd. I asked her for help to get something from a top shelf and she just stared at me and didn't say anything. Then just walked away to ask her coworker to help and then did it herself reluctantly. I started using this Albertson's store, after the store next to my home was closed due to unknown reasons to me; perhaps low revenue..! This store is fine and employees are courteous and helpful, but sometimes certain products are not readily available. The very positive experience I have had in this store is manager Matthew. He is a pleasant gentleman and a problem solver. I have had three interactions with him regarding missing products and cashier mistakes. Matthew solved all of them quickly and with ease. I placed an order through Drive Up and Go at the Banning, CA store on Highland Springs. I placed my order and they called me when it was ready to pick up. Out came three employees -- the store manager and Gage and Ryan. These three men were so nice and so polite and professional, both on the phone and in person. They even brought me extra goodies, a 12-pack of flavored water, some snacks, and a cake baked just for me that said "Drive up and Go. Thank you for being our 1st customer!" They loaded up my car, took a picture of all of us, and I was on my way. I will use this service a lot now that I know about it! I shop here once a week and find that I don't buy meat products Like lunch meat and bacon. I had many bad experiences in the past with meat already past expiration date and with the that milk has already passed the expiration date. I've complained a couple of times letting them know Hey your milk in meat are expired. The response ever sieved in the past is will look at it. The new look of the store's great I think I've done a lot of work to make the place look better but the some of the policy or some of the work that needs to be done hasn't been completed when it comes to requiring somebody check the dates on the meat area and the milk area. That has been a looming problem for over a year and a 1/2. Please fix the bad and expired meet and milk. read more

My nana has been coming to this Albertsons for YEARS (at least 10). Now I do the grocery shopping for her. I usually have the luck of showing up on a restock day and its never too busy when I go in the morning. This location is always clean and the stuff so friendly! I don't personally shop at Alberstons but this is a great location! read more

Love the store, went to high school and college around the corner, but a manager there is terrible to the employees. Some manager named Ed was calling his female employee "worthless" when I went in a few weeks ago. I was shocked! (I meant to write this review sooner but forgot.) Hopefully corporate sees this and fixes things internally because that is completely unacceptable. read more

This supermarket looks a bit old inside, kind of begging for a remodel. However it is located near my work and they do have some good deals on drinks. On my most recent visit, I got a tall can of Arizona green tea for 69 cents that normally sells for 99 cents. Not bad. If you're in a hurry and only buying a few things, just use the self checkout line and you'll be out of there in no time. This supermarket is located very close to UCI, so there will be a lot of college students shopping here. I must be getting old as I tend to get annoyed by these young whippersnappers acting as if they owned the place. Was I also that way when I was their age? :) read more

I shop at this Albertsons store all the time since it's so close to UC Irvine. The one other grocery store that serves this immediate area is Trader Joe's over at University Center - which while is just as awesome - has a more limited selection of goods and closes at 10. This Albertsons closes at 12 midnight. This location has everything to make it a one-stop shop - a pharmacy, deli, bakery, household goods and huge liquor section - however, that convenience of having almost everything as well as its proximity to the UC Irvine campus, comes at a cost - the majority of the prices here are marked up by at least 10% to 20% over other food stores further from campus. Produce is relatively fresh, bakery has a good selection - I like their garlic focaccia bread, meat and deli has good selections and the butcher is always happy to make trimmings or cuts for you. The store itself is bright, spacious and well-stocked. They even have a international section with selections that give those studying at UCI far far from their native country, a bit of options to remind them of home. It's a small touch, but this Albertson's has it's own way of acknowledging that their biggest customer base comes from students at the nearby UCI. During the first week of the new quarter, this location has a huge banner at the front of their store welcoming back UCI students. In recent news, Albertsons has announced in an effort to steer towards more customer-service oriented values, they are doing away with their self-checkout lanes - don't worry folks, that doesn't apply to this store as they mentioned that their stores near college campuses will continue to have self checkout lanes (wonder what they're implying considering the previous statement - heh). Parking can be a hit or miss, considering how busy the shopping center gets with the foot traffic for all the other stores in the area. I shop here either late at night when most of the other stores are closed - thus lighter traffic - or early Sunday mornings when everyone else is asleep. Finally, another plus is that there is a SchoolsFirst FCU ATM located right inside the left entrance, so if you're a SchoolsFirst member OR a member of a credit union that is part of the COOP ATM network, you can get cash here fee-free. read more

I've been going to this specific Albertsons location for over 15 years but this is my first review specifically for the drive up and go service and the ease of scheduling appointments for the shots clinic at the pharmacy. Drive up/go service- The employees that that stock the orders and bring them are always pleasant and happy to help/ make good substitutions. I had one bad experience last year where they took a while to get my order out but outside of that, everything has been smooth and orders are out within 5-10 min of checking in. This service has honestly been a lifesaver for the past 2 years. Best time to pick up is earliest available/ least amount of drama/ wait Shot clinic at pharmacy - scheduling and the friendly nurse doling out the shots made this task a breeze. Cvs/target/riteaid should seriously look at whatever software they use for scheduling. Taking off one star because as others have mentioned, some of the employees that have been there forever aren't as warm and accommodating when I've had to go in to the store to purchase something and not that they have control over this, so many people clearly not coming in for drive up or pick up, park in all the drive up spots. This Albertson has a deli and hot foods section where they sell chicken wings by the lb. If you come during lunch or peak times the wings are tasty and juicy! I recommend the honey wings. There are 2 Red Box Kiosk in this Albertsons location making movie renting cheap and convenient. There is plenty of parking in this Albertson's plaza. I hate it when the plaza has bad parking causing you to fight for a parking space or hike to the market. Not here! The prices at Albertsons is more expensive than other nearby super markets, like 99 Ranch Market and Wholesomes Choice. Cheapest to most expensive nearby super markets: -Chinese Super Markets (ex. Ranch 99 Market) -Korean Super Market (ex. H Mart, Fresia) -Indian Super Market (ex. Wholesomes Choice) -American Super Market (ex. Ralphs, Albertsons) With the extra dollars paid the produce also comes cleaner, so the ranking from cheapest to most expensive also means cleanest to dirtiest produce. When I buy spinach at Ranch 99 Market, I need to wash the spinach about 4 time to get it clean and my sink is full of dirt. When I buy spinach from Wholesomes Choice, I wash it about 3 times and there is some dirt in the sink. When I buy spinach from Albertsons the spinach is clean already and just needs a rinsing. Price difference is about 4 times more at Albertsons for spinach than at Ranch 99 Market. So I guess the real question here is, "Would you rather take the time to wash your spinach 4 times more or pay 4 times more the price for your spinach?" HAPPY FOOD SHOPPING!! read more

I had a positive negative experience here. A worker accidentally struck my car whilst retrieving a cart stuck in the grass behind my car. He calmly apologized and took me to his manager, who explained the process of how they'd go about compensating me for the damage. I eventually took the car to the wash and the scuffs came off so I chose not to bother them with it, just good to see people take their responsibility professionally. read more

THE ALCOHOL SECTION is bigger now! with more booze and more beer...and they even have the fancy ones that they only sell at BEV MOs. with this new and expanded alcohol section...ALBERTSONs will be making so much more $$ because it is the nearest market to the UCI campus. BUT... the kids that get admitted into UCI these days are smart aka nerds...Im not even sure if they know what alcohol is...besides using them in a chemistry lab ANYWHO...with the new expansion and renovation...the structure of the store just appeals so much more. UPDATE: PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN SHOPPING HERE. Woman was robbed of her wallet while in the store JAN/2022. Woman was shopping with her purse in cart while another woman asked for help reading a label on a food product, distracting the woman while someone stole her wallet from her purse. Ive been coming to this store for 9 years. Service is "whatever". Since the pandemic employees have become a revolving door. Hardly any baggers, service is non existent, no small talk or friendliness. You can tell mostly every employee hate people. The one thing that is absolutely terrible is how they have zero cart stations in the parking lot! If youre going to have zero cart stations atleast make it a priority to have one person assigned to parking lot duty because there never a decent parking spot and honestly all the carts all over the parking area make this Albertsons look ghetto. Food is completely overpriced due to the location but yet service is sub par and thats being modest and you can never find a parking spot because of the carts left everywhere. read more

I only go here for two reasons: if I feel in the mood for some quick potato wedges or if the deals are REALLY good. Otherwise, you're probably better off spending your money elsewhere. Your friendly UCI Campus Grocery Store. The thing I love and hate about this place is the people that shop there. I'm okay with the cute little college girls running around in a halter top, booty shorts, and ugg boots. I find it amusing when they deliberately act stupid just to get the produce boy to check them out. However, I hate those freshmen "hardasses". These are the 95 lb, 5'3 boys with acne, patrolling the alcohol section in hopes that a homeless man in need of change will walk through and buy them a six-pack of Mike's Hard Lemonade. Now that I think about it, I've been approached a couple times. Maybe it's time for a wardrobe change... If you learn to drone out the kiddies, this Albertson's is pretty good place to shop. The staff is very friendly and will honor 99.9% of your expired coupons. They produce is decent and the butcher shop has a really fresh selection. They have a wide range of merchandise such as clothes, pharmacy, deli shop, dvd rental and flower shop. Parking is a cinch and the store is open late. A little about my credentials: I first got into cooking & food when I was in college. After being rejected by numerous girls and getting zero action, I decided it was time for a change. I needed a new makeover to boost my geeky, engineering image. I applied for a cooking position at a Mediterranean-Italian Restaurant near my home and learned to cook all sorts of pastas and dishes. I never became a professional chef, but I continue to enjoy & love food. 8 years later and 55 lbs heavier, I am now an engineer that travels all over the world trying new foods and learning about different cultures. read more

This is a pretty old Albertson's location, but it's trusty and reliable and that's really all that I need in a neighborhood grocery store. I go here often because of the Redbox machines (rent a blu-ray movie for $1.50!) and to buy water (a big bottle of Crystal Geyser water is only $1 on sale). I really like the flexible hours. Open 6am - 12am, which makes it a great place for late night food/movie runs. This location was also open on Christmas day, which made it a lifesaver for last minute shopping. Basically, I've been to various Albertson's locations and this is definitely not as big or nice, but it's been consistently reliable and deserves a solid 4 stars. read more

This Albertsons has all your college student's needs. I went here to get Raid to fight against insects around my townhouse. The only downside to having everything you'll need and it being so close to UCI campus is the increased prices. I've noticed at least a $2-15 difference comparing these Albertsons household appliances to Target's household appliances (small things like Raid to a more expensive Swifter cleaner mop) which is about 3-5 miles away from campus. read more

Fair prices, though some of the food can be a little fresher (you get what you pay for) since we are in OC. The alcohol section has a nicely designated area for beer, kept in its separate internal cooler where you can go in and pick your hoppy-wheaty-bitter beers! Definitely keeps everything well stocked! Today, they hooked it up. I got a swagtom of monopoly cards from this cool cashier chick. I'm no snitch so I ain't gonna rat her out yo but she hooked it uppppppp! Check out my pic below! That's what makes this place legit. The dope staff like balloon girl, who hooked it up with an ultra big balloon! Or balloon guy, who hooked it up with extra curly string. It's their extra step in customer service and attitude that makes this albertsons my favorite Albertsons of all time. That's a lot coming from me cuz I'm a Ralph's guy through and through. Terrible customer service, just terrible. I was asking the staff to combine two small rose bouquets--literally just putting them together to form a larger one--made me wait for 15 minutes and charged a $10 wrapping fee. The fee is not a problem, but the bouquet was arranged vertically (just why?? Why????) and wasn't what I asked for. Then they charged me another $6 re-wrapping fee. When I asked them to take back the second fee, the staff literally said "do you want it or not?" I don't care about the money but the staff's attitude is just shit and they can't even accomplish the simplest task. I just left and went to wholefoods for the bouquet. It was such an upgrade--their flowers are prettier, staff are friendlier, and they don't even charge any wrapping fee. read more

Whether I go at 6AM or 12:45AM, the staff (most of the time) are always so friendly. I mean, people have bad days, and I totally understand, but in light of that, thanks for being awesome team members! Pricings in Albertsons is insanely random.. One day, a carton of eggs are 4$, and the next they're 2 for 5$. Chicken tenders were 4.99$ a pound and skyrocket back up to 6.99$ a pound. Fruits tend to stay the same price, though. This is like my "Safeway" back at home. Even though I buy most of my groceries are Trader Joes, there are somethings you can't buy there (like the Chicken tenders hehe). The random prices make me want to rip my hair out sometimes though. Oh well! Parking can be a pain at times, but a few longer strides to walk won't hurt anyone. read more

I have been going to this Albertsons since 2014. It is seriously one of the most consistent grocery store at which I have shopped. Fresh produce is delivered every week, and there are always deals on produce depending on the season. Basic Roma tomatoes, sweet onions, spinach, bananas, and apples are solid. Meat sections sometimes have $1.95/lb chicken breast which is a steal. The whole bagels sold here are also really good. I have also ordered cakes from the bakery for birthdays. Florist help me pick out flowers for a bouquet. Pharmacy is also quick and efficient. Highly recommended for new college students or those new to Irvine. read more

Not the biggest supermarket in Irvine, but has everything a college student would need. Don't expect a big variety like other supermarkets in the area and you won't be disappointed! The Express Meals were so worth it, but they reduced the portions by 1/4 so now it's just Ok. The Cashiers are super nice and even scan their Rewards Card if you forget yours. Well-kept store with nice staff. They also have taken into account their proximity to campus, having later hours and a wide selection of vegan and vegetarian options. My minor complaint is that multiple times I have come to this store late at night when it is supposed to be open and it is not. Been coming to this location for several years now. There's always a long line and few cashiers which can be inconvenient. But this is just the case with most grocery stores these days so I don't get too upset. Never noticed issues with prices. What prompted this review was an unpleasant encounter in the produce section when I was shopping the other day. Two employees were having a loud, very inappropriate conversation for a public work setting. They were discussing political issues and their political views which at one point turned into a racist rant (anti-Asian views). I did not feel comfortable approaching them as I have to shop here occasionally. But I felt given the proximity to the university and the diversity of the area that it was not only wildly inappropriate but completely offensive. It's one thing to hold your ow political beliefs that may differ from my own but I shouldn't have to deal with hearing extremist views or racist remarks while shopping for onions. Also, there are people of all ages here and that's not okay for them to be made to feel uncomfortable. These employees were not young teenagers, they were grown adults past 45 I'd say so that is even more uncomfortable to confront. read more

I am very unhappy with Albertsons! I just recently bought a cake from there and it was anything but sweet. I have a very traumatic past experience with asking for a white cake and receiving a chocolate cake, so for this reason I specifically went on the hunt for a white cake! After searching the store for a white cake I finally found one that was labeled white! Excited with my future purchase I went home anxious to try my delicious cake. I grab a knife cut it open AND TO MY DESPISE I OPENED IT UP TO SEE CHOCOLATE SPONGINESS. I couldn't help but laugh on the outside when I was really DEVASTATED on the inside. The parking lot is a zoo - don't even think about trying to come around lunch time. A recent re-organization means items are now in the weirdest places...toothbrushes? Aisle 1, right next to the juice and butter. The point of sale system talks way too much..."please place your SUPER ABSORBENT TAMPONS in the bagging area". Prices are expensive compared to Target and ethnic grocery stores like Wholesome Choice. Specials are often rung up at the regular price. The staff is friendly and it's close to me - alas, I can't take it any longer and will shop elsewhere. read more

Starting with the parking lot... hot mess. I don't know if I came at the wrong time of day, or if this is just a busy place, but it felt like parking too way longer than it should. The store itself is pretty decent. There was good sales, a wide variety of food and produce, and all the contact I had with employees was good. Lines to checkout were decently long, but they actually went by pretty quickly. It is a typical grocery store, and if you shop the sales you can get things at a decent price. Honestly my biggest beef with this place is the bad parking situation. Leaving and getting out was quite a pain too. read more
