I recently tried this restaurant and have to say I am overall disappointed. The service and ambiance were both wonderful. Our waitress was new and still learning the menu, but was very attentive and welcoming. However, the food left a lot to be desired. For starters, we chose to order the gruyere spread and thai street ribs. I was a bit offput by the texture of the spread. It had almost finely chopped pieces of cheese and there was almost a vinegar taste to the spread. The focaccia it was served with was very light and airy, but I ended up eating this alone. The thai street ribs were decent. I am not the biggest fan of ribs but I could tell this was cooked well, the meat easily fell off the bone and the sauce and mint garnishings added a great touch. As for mains, we chose the lobster and shrimp pad thai and wagyu beef strudel. The sauce for the pad thai reminded me of a store-bought sauce with a strong vinegar and overly sweet taste. The shrimp were cooked well and came with a large portion. However, I was not a fan of the lobster side. There was a very strong fishy smell to the lobster and it was overcooked and served cold over the hot dish. As for the wagyu dish, I wish this had been served alone without the strudel. The meat itself was very tender and flavorful, but the puff pastry was undercooked and very doughy, which left the middle of the dish soggy. read more

Would likely not try it again, the service was good but the food was so mediocre. Prices are on the higher end but the food doesn't match what they charge. I am always down to pay for great food and pay a good chunk of change at that, but the food here just wasn't even what I would consider good. It was just so so. We had the thai ribs and burrata and bread to start. Was fine but bland. The ragu and tikka were also just meh. At $35 an entree, I want it to be at least good. The flavors were off. I also kept getting a horrible whiff of seafood from a table near us. While this restaurant does serve seafood, anyone who knows seafood knows that there is a really distinctly fishy smell that comes from not so fresh or improperly stored and prepared seafood and that was the smell I was getting. I would skip their seafood dishes given this. Drinks were good, they seem to be trying a little too hard with the presentation but they tasted good. Overpriced and overhyped, would skip this one in lieu of other similarly priced restaurants with better food. If you just come for drinks I think you would be okay. read more

This is perfect for date night or hanging out with friends. They are following COVID policies as well. You have to give your name and number and everyone wears a mask. You aren't allowed to go up to the bar and order drinks. So please be patient with staff as they try to accommodate your orders and request. Theatre tickets gave us a shortened and limited window. Love this place!! We initially wanted to go to Johnny's, but decided to stay here due to the wait at Johnny's. We were greeted by the owner, Johnny, and he moved seats around so that we could all sit at the bar together. The bartender was so so nice and amazing at making creative drinks! I told him to surprise me and he did. I loved it. He kept serving us even though the bar had closed. He was the best! We had an amazing experience and it was definitely a great end to our night. He even took pictures of us! There were some men that kept talking to us and he asked if we were okay or if we felt uncomfortable and I thought that it was so nice of him to do that. It feels good to know that you're safe here and that they care about their customers. Excellent experience! We'll likely be back for food because we need a break from drinks. I want to give them 3.5 for the overall experience but I selected four because I really hope things improve as the pandemic continues to subside. The vibe is great, makes me feel like I'm back in California. Atmosphere 5 stars Decor / Theme 5 stars Food selection 0 stars Can't really rate the food because they wouldn't let us order anything but drinks and a charcuterie board. We booked our reservation on open table for 9:30pm. By the time the waiter arrived (about 9:50pm), he told me I could not order off of the regular menu. I had to order off of the 10-10:30pm menu which only had three options for appetizers even though we were given the regular menu when we were sat. We later found out the kitchen was backed up and they were understaffed. What is most upsetting - why doesn't the hostess let the table know that the kitchen options will be limited at 10pm? Why would they take a late reservation if they weren't going to accommodate us? We were there before cutoff, so the lack of staff should have been communicated. Food was fine but took such a long time. The service was awful. We were there for 2.5 hours and waited 45 mins for checks. We had tickets to a show and finally had to ask for our bill. Our server seemed annoyed and surprised when we told her we needed to get going. We were placed in a back corner without music or other guests- it was incredibly strange. We also had to put a $100 deposit down and it was returned in the form of a $100 bill- which was bizarre. Just an overall underwhelming experience with odd and slow service. read more

We walked in and grabbed a spot at the bar and ordered a couple drinks. A Sazerac for me ($14) and a Basil Hayden's Old Fashioned ($18), for my compatriot. I'll say this, it had great ambiance, it was quiet, and with a great selection of high end liquors, especially Bourbons. My drink was so-so for the price. The food looked promising. For $17 CocktIls, $49 for a steak and $17 for a glorified side salad I would expect a little bit more elevated offering... Strangest random collection of items. Limited selections. Hard to decide. The ugly: our meals. The lamb ragu was tasteless. The lobster and shrimp pad thai was dominated by the hot sauce, so no other tastes came through. I also had to awkwardly dig out a small langoustine-like lobster tail with huge fork. My husband and I had a 7:30 reservation, we got there at 7:25 was told the tablets were taking a little longer than expected so it might be a little wait and we're seated at the bar for cocktails. Ok no problem. The bartender was incredible and it was awesome watching her make drinks. I had the Peaky Blinders which had jameson infused with orange and strawberry- highly recommend it was delicious my husband got a smoked old fashioned which he really enjoyed. So about 30 minutes later we are about done with our drinks and still no table. After 45 minutes my husband asks the hostess because a few people who came in after us were seated. She looked at the screen with the reservations on it. Kind of hesitated and said their reservation was at 7:15 fine. She then said please order an appetizer and will have it taken care of so that was nice but after an hour, and in about 10 minutes, we finally got a table. Our server greeted us kind of confused since we already had an appetizer and just muttered "was there anything else I can get you?" I told him yes and we ordered our food, I had the lobster and shrimp pad Thai it was very good and a huge portion. My husband had a lamb ragù, he said could have had more sauce but the lamb was super tender and delicious. Cherry crème brûlée was very good as well. Overall, I was so excited to try this place. Went here for brunch with the girls while in town. The food and the service was remarkable. It had presentation and full body flavor. The atmosphere of a very relaxing. The chef and the manager came by to talk with us. They didn't have bananas for the French toast, so they used berries. OMG!!! They need to add this to the menu. read more

Came here again and it was wonderful. For our appetizer we started with the lamb which we both enjoyed. I ordered the Shrimp Pad Thai because I loved it so much the first time. My friend ordered the salmon. I had nice presentation w my drink called the final rose. The final rose has cookie crumble on top of it with a planter vase as the cup. The flower is removable. Very cute drink. The ambience is always on point. I love how it's dimly lit and has an eclectic, trendy, romantic vibe. This time we sat in the dining room that you first walk into. I think I do prefer the other side but they have nice tables and the bar beautiful to look at in the initial room. All great food! read more

Alchemi is a nice small spot we came in party of 4 they were slammed and we were on a time crunch to get to the comedy show down the street, royal oak has many spots this one should def be tried. Good food good drinks, my only complaint is drinks took waaaaaaay to long to come out we only had 1 round of drinks when honestly we woulda probably spent a good 300 bucks in just liquor that night.
