Alchemy is a great option if you are looking for a place with a lot of healthy options that taste delicious. They are very vegan and gluten-free friendly which is a huge bonus as well. My personal favorites are the Basil Portobello Sandwich, Kale Caesar Salad and Tomato Bisque Soup. The Basil Portobello comes on ciabatta bread which is insanely good although I have also gotten it on the gluten-free bread which I think is a very good alternative. Their gluten-free bread tastes better than most I have had and did not have a strange texture which is commonly an issue. The sandwich is loaded with roasted Portobello mushrooms, roasted red pepper, arugula and a delicious herbed cashew cream that reminds me of an herb aioli. The Kale Caesar salad is crazy good. The Caesar dressing is vegan and tastes AMAZING. It is served on a bed of kale with lemon roasted chickpeas, carrots and cashew parmesan. I have had this salad at both locations and the one at the Grandview location is much bigger and more nicely presented. They also have rotating soup specials. The one I have tried is the Tomato Bisque. Their soups are always vegan and gluten free and this soup was some of the best (vegan or not) tomato soups I have ever had. It is creamy and very well-seasoned. I have also tried a few of their grab and go options. The first thing I tried was the quinoa fried rice which was phenomenal. It had all the flavor of fried rice with none of the guilt, it doesn't get better than that!. I have also tried their banana maple pecan doughnut which is vegan and gluten free. The doughnut was definitely a bit dry but I still really enjoyed the flavor, it is difficult to make a gluten free doughnut taste good so I give them props! Overall, I really enjoy Alchemy for their food options, however, if you are looking to get a smoothie or smoothie bowl, I personally prefer Zest. read more

Had a great experience here. Walking in the atmosphere was Modern and friendly. Since I'm a little newer to eating more healthy foods I decided to start slow get the turkey jalapeno sandwich. And boy was I happy I did.! It was so full of flavorful and just the right size. The sandwich also came with a small chickpea salad which was also pretty good. Not my favorite, but still good. I also got a bite of the tuna sandwich that my mother got and it to was very flavorful. She got her sandwich with the gluten free bread which was also good and I really couldn't tell much difference between that and the regular toasted wheat I had. The atmosphere, customer service and the food will definitely have us coming back for more and soon. I would definitely recommend this place! read more

First things first, this is most definitely NOT Old Town East. The yelp map pinpoint is placed way off and the neighborhood is Schumacher Place, you know, as in almost German Village. It will be very helpful for you to know that the cafe has no signage at all and occupies the first floor of the new gym by the CVS at the corner of Parsons and Livingston. I had difficulty finding it on not one but two occasions as a result of the above two issues. The menu is concise: 6-8 smoothies, 4 sandwiches and 4 types of toast+spread. There were a number of items not listed on the menu too. Pastries, treats and most importantly a special lentil soup. I struggled to make up my mind, so many good choices. But I ultimately ordered the lentil soup and the pesto sandwich. The soup was $4 which seemed steep until I saw the portion size. Huge. It was hearty and full of healthy deliciousness - carrots, lentil, onion, tomato, kale and quinoa. So good. The sammich was on some light fluffy local bread and featured hummus, avocados, tomatoes and pesto. I don't recall there being a cheese but I could be remembering wrong. The space was neatly designed with inexpensive looking features, at least material-wise (plastic) that still managed to look modern and respectable. The staff was friendly and helpful and the hours are pretty sweet on account of the gym. Oh, and I learned recently that the owners are the Crest and ethyl and tank guys. Coolness. While traveling for work in Columbus, I was searching for healthy dinner options and came across Alchemy. It is within a fitness center, at the front before you enter. Food: I ordered the pesto avocado toast and the jackfruit bbq sandwich. The sandwich was delicious; I'd never had jackfruit before but found it to taste very similar to bbq and I didn't even miss the pork taste. It came on a fresh ciabatta bun. I ordered the pesto avocado toast to go so it was a little messy after the travel, but it still tasted great. Both of these options were vegan, I believe, if you have dietary prefrences. For kicks I ordered the Cookie Monster no-bake bite; I'd never tried a no-bake bite before but I'd heard about them, and it was both tasty and not too unhealthy! It was a mint flavor and a little drier than I'd expect, but a good sweet treat. I also ordered the albacore tuna sandwich for the next day and it was also delicious! The tuna tasted fresh and the whole wheat bread was super soft and fresh. Alchemy has a full nutritional menu listing for nearly all the items they sell which I really appreciated. Ambience: This place definitely has the hip vibe down pat, and tons of vegan options. They sell cute t-shirts, like one that says "Avoca-duh" which I seriously considered purchasing. It's a very clean place and would be a great spot to grab a bite with a friend. read more

A West Coast beachside babe travels to Columbus and what do I find? Juice goodness that could rival any SoCal local. Watch out, if they make their way West they'll be on par with anyone pressing fruits and veggies out here. I was so happy with my Tropical Green smoothie (pineapple, banana, coconut water, spinach, kale) it totally got me through a super long day of work. They're not just a juice place either, but a whole food joint, serving healthy fresh and quality items that are good and good for you. I also had a beet, apple, pear, lemon juice called Easy Beet for only 4.50 for 8 ounces (A great price for my California juice budget-fresh cold pressed can be pricey!) There is a pleasant seating area, and even more pleasant staff. They truly care about their creations-and it's obvious they're supporting the community too. They opened recently so Yelpers, hop to it! Shop and support small businesses and as you do, work up an appetite and eat (drink) local too! Anytime I'm in town this will be an absolute must stop in. For the price the food here is absolutely bland and ridiculously priced. The strawberry coconut kale salad and black bean burger were the best out of all that we tried but neither were spectacular. The juices were fine...but again weren't great. And at the end of the day, while having lots of vitamins, juices can be sugar bombs, even the healthiest, and have none of the fiber to even it out. Asian peanut noodle had over cooked gummy cold noodles and a muted peanut butter flavor. The caprese salad was ridiculous. A tiny piece of mozzarella basil and tomato between 2 slices of rock hard bread. The counter set up is the worse by the way. Totally linear and horizontal to both the customer and people still deciding. I was ignored for the longest time because of this when I was ready to check out. And if you have questions you'll get annoyed looked and also be ignored for some time. Not impressed and for the price I can make something that tastes better at home. read more

This was a funny little place. I dont know much about like juice bars and all that, so i left the juice and salad ordering to my date (hehe). I myself picked the tuna kraut sandwich, which was honestly a tough decision because of the four sandwich options i was honestly torn between them all. All four were unique and caught my eye in a different way, but i liked my decision. The sandwich was a good size and very tastey. You could tell everything there is always fresh and it is something they pride themselves on. I also had a snickerdoodle smoothie, which was wonderful! I have been anticipating a trip here for a while and lemme tell ya::: it was absolutely worth the two hour drive from Dayton (would have been an hour butttttt I got lost ) I ordered the basil portobello sandwich- which was by far the best portobello sandwich that has ever graced my tastebuds- and believe me, many portobello sandwiches have made their way through my digestive tract. I ended up exploring the area for a while, as I don't get to Columbus often, and decided to go back in to grab a smoothie or juice for my way home. I was feeling a bit adventurous and when I ordered the Tumeric Mylk juice. I don't even have words for the wild ride that juice took me on. It was pure glory from start to finish. Here's me: Smoothies - It's been the Green Monster or Blueberry Cacao. Green smoothies done right are life's elixir and blueberries are straight antioxidant. Try a few and get a routine going of enjoying them or maybe just treat yourself; I hear the Peanut Butter Power is on point. Toast - pesto avocado, it's spot on, nothing else like it. Staff will set you up, they've always been great with us so I hope you see the same. Juices - Easy Beet, cus beets, but if it were early AM i'd do an Orange Grapefruit Basil. Grapefruit helps metabolize caffeine. Ever try Matcha? One can't go wrong with these juices. Bowls - Creative, desserty, nutrition facts online; Rio is Acai superfood done way different. Soups and Salads - With at least 10 salads and house soup on rotation, it's possible to roll by everyday and put something good down into that belly. I like Sweet Potato lentil and Curried Brussel Sprout; the Quinoa combos stand out too. Sandwiches - They all smell great, i'll try one next time I'm in! read more

Alchemy is pretty cool, and offers a lot more than juice. Everything there looked and tasted very fresh, and you can tell they take pride in displaying their offerings. I ordered the Snickerdoodle Smoothie ($6)- and it was as good as you'd expect a smoothie of banana, house-made almond butter, flax seed, and cinnamon. They have soups, salads, and sandwiches, but they also have "toast", which is like a half-sandwich. I had the Avocado toast, which exceeded my expectations. The bread is fresh, tasty, and sliced thick. There was ample avocado topped with sprouts, and the sea salt really made the flavors pop. It's a little pricier than you'd expect/hope, but it most likely can be explained by the quality of their ingredients. I definitely recommend Alchemy for a quick and healthy lunch! read more

Every single thing we tried was delicious, flavorful, light and just all around great. The Nutty Dragon has amazing light and airy puffed quinoa, cacao nibs, and coconut. I liked that the toppings were light and very complimentary. I ended up buying cacao nibs and will be ordering the puffed quinoa because to me that made the crunch and the fun. This is the first juice bar I have been to, that being said I need to go try some others to be able to compare but I loved Alchemy! They are like a futuristic, healthy, delicious place with a little bit of hipster. They have so things to choose from.. juices, smoothie, smoothie bowls, and toasts. I have had their Nutty Dragon bowl and I got to say I was a little uncertain about the bowl at first but after trying it I was transformed. It was like a dessert breakfast bowls. Who would not like that? I also was scared about its size because come on it does not look like it will fill you up but it does! I was happily filled. Lets talk about the bowl though. It is bright pink/purple and tastes like a cold sweetened light peanut butter with a bit of a fruity flavors too (from the dragonfruit, strawberry, and banana). Honestly it is like ice cream consistency. Then it has the chocolate cocoa nibs which are crunchy, warm, and of course chocolatey. It also has these crunchy puffed quinoa. Seriously I need to get some of those to put on some of my other desserts! Lastly there is macaroon crumbles which gives another crunchy aspect to the "Nutty Dragon". I ate the whole thing. I was impressed because honestly I was just expecting a pretty breakfast. GET THE NUTTY DRAGON YOUR FIRST TIME! They have many fruit juices too and I have tried the Strawberry Chia Fresca and Strawberry Tumeric Lemonade. I loved the one with chia seeds. It was a bit sweeter than the other one. I also have had their smoothies which I got the Dragonfruit. What a surprise. lol This was the first place I have ever had dragonfruit and I think I am addicted to it.. It may just be the color though because come on its beautiful. It was also good and very refreshing. **I did however recommend this to my friend and she was not as big of a fan which really disappoints me. I feel like she didn't give it a chance though. Not to mention she is not the biggest fruit fan so I guess it just depends on the person. Although there are many options so your bound to like one! Tried alchemy today and absolutely loved it... What I loved the most is that they are much more reasonably priced versus the other competing juice bars in Columbus, and...... they offer food! We got the avocado toast with red pepper flakes, salt, and sprouts (which was great), the daily smoothie, and the green glow juice. Alchemy is (in my book) back on its game. I couldn't be happier. I wanted to wait until I had a handful more experiences under my belt before updating my past review and am so excited that food wise, everything is of the quality I would expect and delicious as ever. This is undoubtedly a biased post. I stick to the bowls and believe there is once again a perfect ratio of toppings to smoothie with great consistency and mix of flavors. The Cherry Cheezecake and Nutty Dragon are my go to's, but I have branched out a few times and ordered the coconut coffee smoothie which was just as delicious. I also highly recommend ALL of the no-bake bites. Really, I no longer have any complaints in terms of the foods I order. Service, however, is still a little bit funky. I never know what to expect seeing as the staff will either bring food to you, announce what the item is from behind the counter or call out a number and I never seem to be informed of what is going to happen. I've even had someone accidentally pick up my food. Either way, very happy it's all coming back together for me. read more

The place is my go to spot. Im not big in to juice but their orange basil grapefruit and orange carrot habanero ginger juice are delicious. These smoothies are the best in the city with ingredients like avocado,cacao,macs, bee pollen and house made almond milk. The menu rivals places I've been to in Cali. I'm wheat-free and not only do you offer gluten-free bread, my wonderful server made me a yummy and beautiful spinach salad out of it instead with a avocado, kale micro greens, and tomatoes. The tuna salad was delicious and mayo-free (I had to ask twice because I couldn't believe it) with apples. Very clean tasting and feeling and nitrate-free as well. I'm excited to try out more options next time I come in. I was in a rush so didn't have a juice yet but the prices are great compared to other places in Columbus so I'm definitely going to try it out here instead. The space is super cute, minimal with upscale Scandinavian style, nice light, and wonderful staff who were very informative, friendly and helpful. Finally made it here and it was well worth it! Got the coconut coffee which is tasty if you don't mind the occasional chewing from the coffee grind. Also was able to pick up a Mean Green press for later. Alchemy is a little hard to find since there's no big sign on the front but it definitely catches your attention from the moment you walk in with it's simplistic yet artistic decor. The cashier was patient with explaining the menu to me as it was my first time coming in. I decided to go with The Rio bowl, Strawberry Chia Fresca juice, and a kale and quinoa salad. I do wish that it would cost just a little bit less but it makes sense with all the fresh organic ingredients for each menu item. I've never had anything like the bowl, but it basically tasted like a smoothie with extra unblended ingredients on top that you eat with a spoon; not that I am complaining though, it was really good! The juice was really refreshing and I really like the tang that the lemon gave. I saved my salad for work next morning and it still tasted freshly made and the flavor combination was perfect. read more

This place makes some delicious and beautiful food. The line moves quick, but the food takes longer than you would expect to make. -purple coconut smooth bowl: delicious, beautiful, reasonable portion. -cheesecake toast: wow, how did they make this taste like cheesecake!? It really did! But I felt a bit jipped for $3.50 getting just once piece of bread, I expected two. Probably won't be ordering their toast again. -jalapeño turkey sandwich: delicious, took awhile to make. Not spicy or jalapeño like at all. Comes with a small side of whatever is in stock that day. Arugula salad, pasta salad etc. I felt the place was reasonably priced for the smoothie bowls and sandwiches. The toast felt a bit over priced- but still delicious. And their lemonade is $5 for a tiny bottle, so I definitely had to pass on that. Also the small salads in the cooler have no price on them, and I can't trust that. They do have lovely flavored complementary water that they are very mindful to keep full. So overall- good place for a small lunch, but not sure I'd go out of my way. Mayne if I was in the area looking for a healthy sandwich, or anywhere in Columbus and wanting a super healthy smoothie bowl- this would be the place. I'd recommend it to a friend, but I won't be kept up at night craving it. read more

I'm not sure what took me so long to finally make the trek ALL the way past downtown to try this place out, but it was a mistake! I also totally missed that it is right next door to the Crest! I decided to make this a detour for a quick bite to eat during a bike ride, which was perfect! It was a nice quick ride off of the path and very easy to find. I ordered the avocado toast since I've heard amazing things about it.. And it was delicious! I also ordered one of the smoothies (I was burning calories biking!) and it was absolutely fantastic! They also have a selection of energy balls and fresh juice, which come in smaller containers than the other local juice bars that I have been to, which is kind of nice. I will need to make it back soon to get a few bottles of juice and try some more of the smoothies that looked good. Definitely a new favorite! read more

To start out positive, the space is really attractive and set up well as far as lighting, product display, etc. However, my acai bowl was soupy. With the owner ringing my order I expected her to be warm and outgoing, especially after mentioning it was my first visit. I found her to be cold, and after pointing out a mistake in how my order was rung I received little acknowledgement and even more of a "freeze". Too bad she didn't blow in my bowl! The smoothie wasn't well blended as I had large chunks of fruit remaining in the bottom of my cup. It also lacked sweetness and needed a touch of honey.
