I cannot believe my ears when I heard that! You have to pay $40 each time you visit them to correct the erratic interlock device they provided. The technician I briefly spoke with here is rude, he showed up to my 8:30 am appointment after 9:00 am, by that time I was being helped by the receptionist who had pretty much told me the machine was defective, it requested I blow to often, & the machine gave me error codes, but were passed in the computer she read from. I understand she's a receptionist & not a technician, but she stated she can read the what's on the computer screen & has a IID in her car as well. The technician strolls in with the audacity to ask me for money before asking me my name or reading the notes regarding why I'm here. I got outa there with as quickly as possible very dissatisfied with the results of my visit, & NOT to my surprise, I was prompted with another service notification the same day & I refuse to return there to the ONLY OFFICIAL ALCOALERT SERVICE CENTER I'm my area. Customer service over the phone with the Victorville office has been great, until Monday when I called to notify them of my experience lol I have left messages, no returned calls which is unusual, bern place on hold for up to 10 minutes at a time ( which was my limit) I have resorted to EMAIL & YELP, in efforts to get some assistance. read more

I thought I'd only get dicked around by the court but wow......First time getting a interlock device, I in a million years never thought it would be this awful. I thought I was in hell dealing with the rude ass lady's at the court house. When I first called this place they told me my closet location to my house was Glendale location but I was referred to montebellos shop. Coming to install my interlock device in my brand new 2020 push start car. That tatted guy At the montebello shop doesn't know how to speak to customers. For a person who works on these units all day long on a daily basis you'd expect they'd show you the in and outs of this stupid faulty device. He legit shows you the video as much as you want to watch it as he's installing the unit. Then shows you once the basic and that's it. Now the first device installed in my car would constantly freeze or read alcohol levels and not pass me. Since I've got my DUI back in 2017. I never drank another alcoholic beverage ever again and I told them I'd take a blood test to prove I have no alcohol, absolutely none. Then my device shut off on me and didn't turn back on which then made my car locked and I couldn't start back up. I called the service number and they said I'd have to tow it to the service center . Now take in mind I was there earlier that same day so they can see why my interlock device Kept messing up and that same tatted guy did the nothing. I thought he was gonna take the device out my car connect that thing to the computer or do some configuration on it like a real technician would. He instead had me start it up 3 times to just tell me nothings wrong. So he says only thing I can do is just get it replaced. I left and told him I'd see how it goes and if it continued to mess up I'd come back for a replacement. later this same day the device completely shut off and I called the service center they told me I'd have to tow it back to the service center. Tow fee under $100 would be reimbursed. My fee was 40$. I thought it would be credited to my account soon after apparently it had to get approved which they don't tell you. It's going on 3 months and still nothing. Now I ain't the type to cry for 40 dollars , I whip my ass with 40 dollars and I'll hand it to that tatted guy but the fact they say this and that and just bullshit and try to dick you around with all these hidden fees. I came back to the service center and that tatted guy again with his sorry ass attitude says he's gonna do what he can do bc he was closing shop. So now with all this covid 19 stuff going on . I finally reopened my kitchen so I'm back in my office and my device was due for calibration. I called for a appt weeks ago before I came back to work and I then realized that appt Thursday wasn't gonna work and I called Tuesday that same week to schedule a appt for Friday my only day off at 930am and the idiots put me for 9am so now I get here to montebello service center and that tatted guy tells me I miss my appt at 9 and it 920. He said I missed both Thursdays and now fridays . So I call back and like I said they just dick you around back and forth with unprofessional workers which they should send confirmation emails so bullshit like this don't happened . Long story short I go to Glendale location and that guy Fred soooo professional , man instantly made my life easier. I'm sooo happy that he will be removing my device in AUG and this nightmare is completely over with. DONT NOT RECOMMENDED THIS BULLSHIT ASS PLACE TO ANYONE. read more

If you need an interlock please go anywhere, but AlcoAlert! I would have given them less than 1 star if I could. #1. The day after my interlock was installed my car would not start. I had it towed to a mechanic, and turns out that I needed a new starter. I can't say for sure that it was the fault of AlcoAlert installing the interlock the day prior, but it is very coincidental that it is the starter that they tamper with during installation and it was my starter that went out. Moving fwd #2. Their interlock was almost on a daily basis messing up on me. It either said I was not blowing into it, or my volume was too low, or my volume was too high! Either way it resulted in showing that I refused a test. They charge $40 for each test refusal. I would call to explain the situation but they wanted to charge $40 anyways, unless I wanted to go to a service center, so they could troubleshoot my interlock. Mind you that this happened on almost a daily basis, so constant trips to a service center is highly inconvienant. Plus, this would still happen within days of being at a service center to have the thing recalibrated. Seems very shady. #3. I had to constantly call the place due to the alleged test refusals, and I had very long hold times. Understandable, but when the customer has to call as often as I did, during working hours, it was also very inconvient. The long hold times are obviously due to the minimal staff. For example, when I had the installation done at the Montebello location nobody was in the office. The phone was just ringing. I walked all around the place and eventually found a guy working on another car. Even while he was working on my car and I was waiting in that office the phone just kept ringing. Also sometimes I would speak with a girl, I believe it was always the same girl. She was always very pleasant, but they may want to add an extra operator. #4 (Ties in with #3) I had the unfortunate displeasure of speaking with Brian often, a service technician, who would have to guide me over the phone on how to reset my interlock due to it constantly malfunctioning. There was one very upsetting conversation where he was not only rude and hung up on me, but he was implying that I was a liar. He questioned why it took me so many days to contact them, I explained that I called daily but since I was on hold so long I would have to hang up and go back to work. He found that hard to believe since he says there's more technicians on weekdays than on a Saturday (when I finally got someone). To which I said that the only technician I seem to get everytime I call is him. #5. Once in a while the interlock would malfunction to the point that it would lock me out for 10min before I could restart my car. I won't get into everytime this happened, but there was one very embarrassing time that I stepped out of my car at work to open the gate in the parking lot. When I got back in I was in 10 min lock out. So, I was blocking the entrance/exit of our parking lot while coworkers had to sit and wait for 10min to go in or out. One of the most embarrassing moments of my life, and Alco alert said they could not start it, that I would have to wait the 10 min. #6. More faulty functions on the interlock. There were some days that I would blow with every breath I had in me to start the car, and it still said low volume. Then there were days that I barely blew into the thing, and it would say volume too high.....Overall their interlock does not function well then they want to consistently charge you for their crap.
