This place is consistently solid. The food is always fresh, the portions are generous, and the staff are some of the friendliest around. Whether it's breakfast or lunch, I've never left disappointed. I usually get the omelette or eggs benny (both are top-tier), but everything I've tried hits the spot. Coffee's always hot, service is fast even when it's packed, and the place has that classic, no-frills, homey vibe that's harder and harder to find these days. Once we were told that table 3 by the window was sanitized, we sought out our spot to find the menu under the plastic protection sheet. I felt like I was at my Grandparents place and sitting on the couch, or walking up the stairs upon the carpet protection runner. The menu appeared to be quite strict with "no substitutions" everywhere. The four slices of bacon for the full breakfast appears to be generous, but the whole plate itself was underwhelming. Zero seasoning on anything provided a homogeneous taste. I was unable to discern any difference from the toast, the eggs, or frankly even the bacon..... it just all tasted the same. The lovely K's eggs were far from over easy, the bacon again plentiful, but tasteless, and the pancakes run of the mill. The Presidents Choice table syrup capped the entire experience off. The peanut butter and jam packets when creating a PBJ toast offering tasted like absolutely nothing. Basic food offering, but at $16 per plate for far from inspiring food, it's overpriced, in our opinion, not worth the money when there are so many better choices within walking distance. Three stars is generous because the food was cooked to the point that it wasn't dangerous to anyone.
