The servers were very friendly and took the time to explain the menu to us. I got their golgappe flight which was essentially pani puri spiked with vodka. I couldn't taste the vodka! I usually like my golgappes spicy and this was on the sweeter side but it wasnt bad. Came here on a Thursday afternoon. Needed no reservations. It was just us a party of 6. The restaurant looks good with tons of light and is clean. We ordered 3 starters. Sesame paneer fingers,chicken lollipops and corn chops and it was amazing. We ordered old Delhi butter chicken, garlic naan and tandoori roti. It was delicious. This place is a fam favourite!! We miss their Roomali roti, but the Pav Bhaji Fondue made up for it! We also ordered their two main sizzlers, amazing as always. The only thing I find funny is the extra charge for onions and chillies, no other Indian place has ever charged for this but I guess that's why this is a "Modern Taproom." All right. This should have been done by me last month. Our family of three went to showshaa on 152nd. We are glad we did. Everything we ordered was made to perfection. Non-alcoholic drinks were perfect. We ordered sizzler, that was a great mix of Indo-chinese taste. Cauliflower-manchurian was crispy and tasty. But this is what I am here for. Channa-Bhatura (Chole-bhature). Cooked to perfection, Chole were the best. Not runny, not soggy, not light in color, not dry and well cooked. And for Bhature, let me tell you, baked bhature are not bhature, microwaved bhature are not bhature, in the name of healthy eating, most restaurants are virtually giving rotis and call them bhature. Not in Showshaa. Bhature were perfectly fried, and you know that the dough is fresh once you taste the bhature. In surrey, half of the restaurants do not know how to prepare and present chole-bhature, and I can say, because, I am trying new restaurants and their preparations for past 10 years. Not one I had found till date, that prepares chole bhautre as they should. Showshaa has ended my quest to find perfect Chole Bhature. If anything needed to be added is that keep the bhature, fluffy. Now, everything can go sideways, if service is not right. My apologies as I forgot the name of our server. She was cheerful and helped us selecting our food. I was excited to try this place as I had discovered it on Yelp. We got the gol-gappa flights, showshaa signature sizzler, malai kofta, buttered chicken, and some garlic naan. The gol-gappa flights had a nice presentation and interesting taste. We were expecting the sauce to be warm, but it was served cold. We've never had anything like that before so we can't really comment on the taste too much. The showshaa signature sizzler was our favorite. It was like an Indian Chinese dish and had so much flavor and texture. The malai kofta and buttered chicken were decent as we've had better. It used to be my go to restaurant before. I love ambiance and location. But after change in management everything is changed. Last time I visited this restaurant was around 6 months ago. Food - we ordered some platters that said to come with 6 type of chutney/sauces and it only came with 4. When asked to waitress, she said it can be changed by management at any time. Not only that they charged extra for that dish and she said prices are increased but not reflected on menu yet. I think they should let the customers know of price changes before they order. read more

Pretty interiors and very spacious space indoors plus a good amount of seating on patio. All black paint gives it very pub look but its otherwise a fine dinning restaurant. Chandeliers were unique n beautiful. Too many bathrooms for both men n women and they were clean and full of toiletries. Mix of english , hindi music which gives it bollywood blended hollywood feel. The usher is always there to greet you and asign a table as per your choice. Many staff members make sure the whole experience is going smooth. I would rate the food choices as abundant and flavoured. All sort of dish had a twist of their own. Like samosa cocktail which is basically tiny little samosas. Big quantity of serving is good as well coz atleast two people can easily share a platter. For me pav bhaji was little too oily. Great place to take out! Ordered for pick up a few weeks ago and the place was hopping. Food ready in an hour, staff super friendly. People were welcome to edit inside instead of being locked out. The service is very prompt and personal. We started with tea which was one of the very best according to my husband.The Sesame Paneer bites was a sensation. At the recommendation of the server we ordered paneer sticks that came with a spicy yet sweet chilli sauce in a flight like presentation. We also ordered lamb popsicles because there was a photo of them that appeared when we were looking up food options nearby that drew us in Showshaa's direction. I was pleased with what we ordered. The complementary crisps however tasty, did bring the greasy vibes that I was expecting. Not saying that greasy is bad in the context of pub food - I just wasn't feeling it that night - not the crisps' fault, but I probably wouldn't order them. What a beautiful surprise. Driving back to Bellingham, we saw the Taproom sign and thought, let's check it out! You must enter this marvelous location. Yes, they have beer.......but so much more. Emily was our superb server. This newly open spot had so much going on. The menu is exquisite and nothing like it anywhere, and we go everywhere. She explained a bit about Showshaa, then asked about how we like our spice. I am a more timid spicer while Mark could eat fire. She made great recommendations, explained that each dish is hand made at the time. We tried the Gol Gappa(?) Shots. Fantastic. Spice level was perfect for me. You can add Vodka and I am sure that would be amazing. We then had the Fish Pecoras and they were fresh, delicate and the sauce served with them was light, fresh and bursting with complimentary flavor. Next was the Sesame Paneer fingers. I LOVED these. They are like Indian Mozzarella sticks, but a million times better. Served in individual shot glasses with a beautiful chile sauce. All their sauces are made there and are amazing. The chips and sauce served first were amazing as well. That sauce is a chef secret and only he makes It! Next stop in we will do their Butter Chicken that is made fresh to order and as Emily explained the process, I wished I hadn't eaten earlier. We will be back. What an amazing new spot in South Surrey. With your first steps into the restaurant you get this feeling that the food is definitely going to be good. I've been here a number of times for a numerous occasions. Had to opportunity to sample a lot of the dishes they serve here. And my favorite is the Lamb Lollipops. Bursting with flavor in each bite, accompanied with a refreshing sauce. Being a brand new restaurant still trying to work out the bugs here and there. They ran so smoothly and always let the tables know if something was going to be late, if ever. They definitely take pride in their customer service. The thing that stood out the most for me were 2 things. The server I had for my first visit remembered us and it was shockingly amazing. It shows that those little things matter. Secondly, the GM Sunny, came to each table introduced himself and asked how were liking the food and everything. Also he exudes what he wants his staff to act with his customers. I am not a big fan of Indian food overseas, but Showshaa has changed my preferences, for good. I have never had better Indian food abroad as good as it was here.
