Our son has a bit of anxiety with new things, but the optometrist and all staff made him feel very comfortable. I have been going to Alderwood vision source for several years. I have always received excellent Eye Care and they have fixed my dry eye problems. In addition, Dr. McKinney basically saved my eyesight do to her thoroughness. She always gives me a thorough exam and the other day she asked me if I had a particular problem; it turns out I did, I had a torn retina but she caught it immediately and I had laser eye surgery that day. It's save me from getting a detached retina and possibly losing my eyesight in one eye. I couldn't be happier and there is no way I'd go anywhere else. read more

Fairly easy to make your appointment. What they don't tell you is that you have to pay for your copay and then also $41 extra for your prescription. Not the actual contacts themselves or your glasses but the actual prescription piece of paper. It would be ask if your doctor hands you the prescription paper and you have to pay a fee for getting it. read more

Front desk service sucks. It seems like they want do the whole eye exam for no reason. While scheduling my appt. I specially told them its for contacts only and they said np. I stopped by this store earlier this week to have someone look at my glasses as the frame was cracked. I am new to the area, so I just picked a place that was close. I was helped by Melody, who happened to be the rudest, most condescending person I have ever met. She was so rude to me that I walked out pretty much mid sentence as I knew that her objective was not to actually help me, but treat me like crap. The Drs at this location really needs to make better staffing decisions in keeping someone like Melody employed. She is going to make countless more people flee as fast as they can from their office. I have always had a positive experience with Drs. Hyde and Pfeiffer. The front desk staff is good and the eyeglass staff is very knowledgeable. However, I'm not impressed with the selection of eyeglass frames. It's what is current and trendy (today it's the thick dark plastic frames like your dad wore in the 1960's). No bling unless you want to pay $500+ and no metal frame selections. I've heard good things about ordering online and might try that next time. Be careful though, I've heard if your Rx is not correct or the frames don't fit, you might not be able to get them corrected; but, hey, at least you wouldn't be out a few hundred dollars. read more

After I had my eye exam at Vision Source, I purchased contacts lenses, prescription sunglasses, and eye glasses from them. The level of attention, selection, and service was exceptionally good and I've always been picky especially about finding comfortable contact lenses. They provided detailed info about plus and minus for each contact lenses brand (above and beyond others have done for me in the past) and gave me plenty of options to choose from. You won't feel like you are an inventory in a factory. Susan and David are opticians who work there and are very courteous, professional, and responsive. When I had an unforeseen issue with my glasses, they promptly helped me use the warranty to get a replacement. They are not in a rush to get you out the door and are genuinely nice people. read more

I've been going to this clinic for a couple years now. I have been nothing but pleased. Drs are knowledgable and kind. I always feel valued as a patient each time I visit. I have an astigmatism which can make finding comfortable contacts tricky. It took us a while to find the right ones, but they found exactly what I needed and I couldn't be happier. I even had a situation where I was unable to pick up my contacts and they gave me some trials to tie me over. I will continue to go to Vision Source. read more

New patient here! After years of going to another optometrist/optical. Everything about Alderwood Vision is aimed at the customer and in a good way! The front staff welcome you in right away and are so helpful with scheduling/payment. The techs are some of the nicest people but Dr Hyde is just the best you could ask for. I have difficult contacts and have had to go back several times to tweak my lenses/prescription. He considers this part of the entire visit and has no problem making it right, no matter how long it takes! They want customers for life and it shows! I went to get a prescription to replace an old one where the anti-glare layer was peeling off and I could not drive at night. When I was calling around from the vsp (my insurance company) directory, the front desk person was very professional and efficient so I decided to make an appointment. I have an eye condition that I am very familiar with since it was diagnosed 2-3 years ago. Dr. Gilbar wanted to withhold the prescription until I saw a referral, a retinal specialist and got a surgery done. Unheard of. Unethical. Unprofessional. Predatorial referral as though he might get a kickback. I will not ever go this place for an eye exam. read more

I've been coming to this office for years. They are warm and friendly while very professional - a hard balance to get right. From the minute you walk in, you are treated with kindness and respect. The doctors are very knowledgeable and explain things thoroughly - I see Dr. McKinney and she's wonderful. They go that extra mile to make sure your needs are met. I was having issues with my glasses pulling my hair and the sides of my glasses coming off because of it. The lady that helped me (forgot her name, blonde, shoulder length hair) was so on top of everything. She ordered me new sides for my frames and also went above and beyond to track a new frame for me from Italy even though they stopped working with the company that made my glasses. She always kept me informed with phone calls of the order which I really appreciate. I also love coming here because of Dr. Gilbar. He is so friendly and knowledgable. EXCELLENT Called to schedule appointment and the phone call was courteous, friendly positive energy made a appointment to come in the next day. Upon arrival everyone welcomed me with a smile and I was helped right away. I could tell this was a great place to work and has great leadership from the top. I was assisted by Elizabeth and answered all my questions and explained everything in detail regarding insurance and process. I saw Dr Andrea McKinney, I was lead to the back and Nicolette did all the basic testing, very professional and great personality. After my eye test I was walked out to Ashley to help me with eye glasses. I appreciated the detailed nature of the eye exam, but, when it actually came time for my glasses to be ready, 2 weeks later, everything was a mess. Ultimately, I had called 3 times in one day to request a status update on my glasses, and each time was told someone would call me back, that never did. Finally, I stated that I needed an update, and the person just said, "your glasses just arrived". Horrible Experience.
