Years later and Aldi is still one of my favorite grocery shops. They have seasonal items for holidays which is fun. Their produce are a hit or miss, I noticed their apples and blueberries last, however their mandarins spoil within days. The prices over the years haven't changed too much, which I appreciate. I love that they offer affordable reusable bags or have free cardboard boxes you can use to load up on groceries. Some of my favorite items from Aldi are their sourdough bread, their gourmet brand (specialty selected) marinara sauce, pomegranate, greens salad mix, vitamin shots, mushroom pizza and deli meat. I noticed that they sell poppi soda which I love. The cashiers are friendly and quick with scanning items into your cart/bag. Aldi is small yet the layout makes the store feel spacious. I've been very pleased with the produce selection at this Aldi's thus far. For a store that is known for its rock-bottom cheap food prices and bare bones staffing, I would say that I have been pleasantly surprised. Aldi's is what it is. You bring your quarter to borrow a cart, and you bring your own shopping bags. I think that Aldi's has their shopping bags, yet I am not certain of this. I bring my own because I have been in a habit of doing this at other places. The food prices are cheap, yet I have not seen an extraordinary decrease in quality. The store itself is clean, as well. If you are looking for customer service at this store, it really is hit or miss. Since there is usually one cashier every time that you come in, you aren't going to get much help if you need to find an item. I have this expectation in mind whenever I shop here, so I'm not too disappointed if they either don't know where an item is or just don't want to help you at all. There have been times where I would acknowledged them by saying "How are you" and not get a reply back or hardly any eye contact. Rude? Perhaps, yet I had low expectations for customer service anyway. If it wasn't for the food items being of good quality, I would rate this store at 3 stars. Yet since my expectations have been exceeded with the former (the food) rather than the latter (the customer service), I am going to give it 4 stars. I get so upset at the lazy thoughtless people that can't move their carts out of the parking spaces* and into a corral, that maybe now getting their quarter back will be enough to keep the parking lot cart-free! Kudos to you ALDI. That being said, I did wander through (it was open on my visit) and nothing really jumped out at me. Shoppers all seemed to have gallons of milk in their carts, so I guess it was a good deal. Choices seemed very limited, and I recognized very few brands. I guess by limiting inventory, costs can be better controlled. After all, how many choices do we need for ketchup and coffee (etc.)? I'll be back with my wife, as she is the informed shopper in the family (I tend to buy items claiming "New" or "Limited Edition"). * Am I the only person that takes carts BACK on my way into a store? read more

Great store!! No frills grocery shopping with super prices!! Produce is fresh, meats are as well. Eggs $.59. Bring your own bags and a quarter for your buggy (you get it back nice you return your buggy). Love the store! Wish the employees liked their jobs a little better. I've shopped many Aldi stores and the folks here are the least cordial of any I've yet to come across. read more

Store looks more modern after the remodel. i wish they would have the "bread vending machines" like in Germany (Google it..so cool and yummy) i go to this store at least twice a month. Will see what US Lidl will be like like when they come in 2019 to TX will be big competition. read more

Do not go to an Aldi looking for: customer service, great selection, or a roomy place. You go to an Aldi to save money. You will save money, but you have to be ready to do things their way. It is how they keep costs down and pass it back to the consumer. Bring a quarter. You'll need it to unlock the grocery basket. Get over it people, you get the quarter back when you return the basket. Keeps us all returning the baskets and it works. Bring your own bags/boxes or whatever to carry your groceries home in. They have nothing there to bag with. Not only that, but you will do all your own bagging at the counter on the wall after the one open register. Don't worry about the one open register, they move quick. The cashier has to move fast, so they don't look as they throw things in the basket. They grab, scan, throw, and go. Quickly. It is what it is, a minimum wage employee (about the only person in the store honestly) who has to keep things moving. Build a bridge to get over yourself about the handling of your food items. You're there to save money, not have a great experience. The selection leaves a bit to be desired. I have found, if I slow down and carefully look, they have more than meets the eye. A quick trip (which I've done) can lead me to think they don't have many items. When I slow down enough to really look at each item, they have an ok amount of things stacked in tightly. They put the items out in boxes or quickly stack them on the shelves. Look carefully, you can find a lot of things. You can't find most name brands, but you will find some. I can honestly say I'm not a big generic brand type guy, but not opposed to it. I know what I like and like what I know. This place makes me stretch a bit to try brands and items I might not normally try. So far, no big disasters. The produce is one of my bigger gripes. They put stuff out there in the beginning of the day. When it is out, it is out. Hard to get fresh produce at Aldi's. Sometimes I think they don't get the concept that produce should be fresh, or don't put it out there. Looks bad to see tired old produce. I would have given them a 3 star rating for that alone, but the prices are really cheaper, much so on most items. You can't hardly beat their prices on cheese. I was cross bred with a rat in my past somewhere. I love cheese. Try their Havarti cheese, just do it. Trust me, it is delicious. The isles are a bit narrow and things can be tight in there, be patient. You're not there to have a pleasant shopping experience, but to do one thing: get more for your money. They maximize everything towards saving money, so just take it for what it is. I go fairly regularly. I can get a rather fair amount of groceries for about $120. I then cross over to Sprouts to get my fresh veggie fix. Probably shouldn't have said that in this review, but Aldi's could get fresher produce. I give them a 4 out of 5 for doing just what they intend to do: save you money. It is different, a bit odd honestly, has taken me a while to get used to it, but I can't find much cheaper groceries. I stopped shopping at this Aldi a while back, partially because their produce always went bad within a couple of days, but mostly because I have never been in there when they've had more than 1 register open. I would regularly wait in line 20 minutes or more just to pay for $10 worth of eggs and butter. The small amount of money I was saving wasn't worth the time I was spending. I went in another Aldi a few days ago to buy something for work and was pretty impressed, so I decided to give them another shot. The recent remodel has improved the look of this location but not the other problems. Their prices were on par with what I've been paying at Kroger and Walmart, and they were higher than the other local Aldi -- $.30 on butter, $.20 on eggs, etc. And surprise, only 1 register open and a line of people. I put my items back and left. Aldi, you're just not worth it. read more

This is the first remodeled Aldi I've had the pleasure of visiting and it doesn't disappoint. Wide aisles and a little better product selection. Aldi's store brands, in my opinion, are generally as good or better than the name brand products the emulate. read more

My husband read about this place when it was first being built, so we were already prepared to bring a quarter for the shopping cart, to bag our own purchases, and we always bring our own bags when grocery shopping anyway. They are similar to Costco, taking cash or debit cards only. For those of you looking for name brands, they won't be there because that's not their target market. Their selections are limited, but what they have is CHEAP. We stock up on weekly staples like dairy products, some meats, wines, but mostly produce. They buy local or generics to keep prices down. I wish they had more in the whole grains area, and we usually end up still stopping by Costco and Walmart for the rest of our household needs. We love them because they help keep our monthly expenses down, and we can be in and out of there fairly quickly. read more

Me and the hubby decided to give Aldi a try again after my first disappointing encounter with them a few months ago and this time we were prepared: is it early in the day? Check! Got my own re-usable shopping bags? Check! Grocery list? Check! Quarter for a shopping cart? Crap forgot that one....oh well thats what I have my husband for right? :P So we walk in, and my expectations were again deflated - but...I tried my best to keep an open mind. The place reminded me of a Save-a-lot store, just with fresh painting on the wall. I knew that I wasnt going to see alot of "namebrand" labelled products for sale - i just balked at the packaging display of the food. Sorry...If i dont know a product im not likely to use it. There were a few familiar labels in the store but nothing that I really needed. The store itself was pretty messy which i thought was surprising considering the store is fairly new. the products are basically stacked on pallets and arranged into aisles with price tags hung on a line above the products to show pricing. One thing I did actually like about the store was the cost of basic necessities like milk and eggs. the were very cheap and reasonable which we did end up buying. Another thing I liked about the store was the produce they has available. we bought a packet of jalapenos for a pretty reasonable price as well. Another interesting thing about the place was they lean towards a more ethnic demographic so they actually has more spices and seasonings for hispanic dishes than the albertsons or kroeger down the road Overall - i probably wouldnt come over here very often - and if i did i'd probably limit my purchases to milk, eggs, and produce. I'm more likely to go to Albertson's across the street for most of my groceries. read more

Discount grocer in Saginaw, Texas which looks to provide a good alternative to the two big chains on the same highway, Walmart and Albertson's. We didn't actually purchase anything at Aldi, but just walked through the aisles examining the wares and prices since it was a store we'd never heard of. Honestly, I went in expecting it to be some sort of Latin supermarket simply because of the unfamiliar name and, yes, because we were in Texas. I saw a diverse crowd going in, and begin to think it might be some kind of drugstore chain. Instead, it turned out to be the super-discount style of grocery, much like the Save-A-Lot chain we have in my home area. We are talking off-brand / store-brand products being sold out of the artfully "box-cuttered" cardboard boxes they were shipped in. We're talking limited selection and staple items. As other reviewers have said, you also have to rent your cart and bag your own groceries. These will hardly be deal-breakers for the bargain shopper. Speaking of bargains, the Aldi's prices, from their off-brand chips to their off-brand cereals seemed to be very reasonable. I will also say that the selection and quality of the produce, particularly given the chain's super-discount style, really made an impression on me. If I lived in Saginaw or the surrounding area I would definitely be returning to Aldi. Even if you do most of your shopping at Walmart, visiting Aldi for some affordable produce and your junk foods (who really cares if a cookie is Keebler or Offbrand Valley Mills?) will definitely pay off at the end of the month. read more

I went to ALDI for the last time last Saturday after a recommendation of a friend. I just went there again on Thursday so I guess that I am very satisfied. They have very good prices on the brands they carry. Most of their brands I have never seen but the quality is not bad at all considering the price. * Note: Items are bagged by yourself, bags are sold or you can bring your own, remember to bring a quarter to get the shopping cart. read more

Non-existent customer service. One cashier at rush hour. It's the price you pay for not paying the price.

It is March 16, 2016. To date, no one from the store contacted me about my injuries. My medical bills are now close to $16,000. I went to the store on 3/15/16 to get a phone number for the store. Two operations managers were there and left as I was waiting for the employee to give me a phone number. I have been on the phone with Alsi customer service. They would not transfer me to anyone to talk to about my medical issues. Aldi has no report on file of my fall at their store. I was transported directly to the trauma unit at a local hospital. read more

Great prices and good selection. I was skeptical at first, but did some research. Most of the cereal is made by General Mills - it just has the Aldi packaging. Tastes just as good, but $1 ore more less per box. Always well staffed, well lit, clean aisle. We've been saving over $100-150 a month going to Aldi instead of Kroger. read more

Don't understand the obsession with brands. Often the only difference is the label. Furthermore, research has shown that in many cases, off brands beat their brand brothers in terms of quality and taste. Aldi wines. for example, beat many store wines in quality and price. The coffee "bricks" Aldi sells for $ 4.99 beats any other coffee, no matter how fancy the name. Many of the special imports from Germany are outstanding in taste and quality. Surely for some items (like Thai peanut sauce or Mango Chutney) one has to visit another large store, but overall, I am quite pleased with Aldi. At Aldi you pay a fair price for product and elsewhere you pay for a greeter, bagger, cart retrieval, fancy sleves and music. Well, and talking about "elsewhere" . I'd rather support mostly "home grown" than a company that adds hundreds of Millions to our trade deficit and chokes the life out of many communities. read more

we went to the Aldi's in Saginaw, Tx ,on 7/31,to purchase ribeye steaks first day of sale. stocking clerk informed us they were late arriving ,they had already unloaded truck that day, there woul not be any coming in today. we went to store on North Tarrant Prkwy in Forth Worth, Friday 8/2. Manager informed us they did not have any yet. Sunday, 8/3 we went back to Saginaw store. Clerk stated they had recieved them on 7/31 and they were all sold(1 case). We were there on 7/31 and were told they would not be in until 8/7. Clerks and managers need to be informed on when sale items arrive and when they are sold to not misinform customers. read more
