This Aldi is conveniently located in the same lot as Costco, so once a week I come down for some gas and groceries. I feel like a lot of things (even just staples like milk or turkey bacon) are frequently out of stock at this location, which can be frustrating if you're making the trip for specific items. It's best to be flexible and opportunistic about what's available/on sale rather than think that you can always buy everything you need here. Unlike the Aldi I used to go to, this one has a self checkout. It's cool because if you have discounted products, you can kind of just wave them at a cashier and they can remotely apply the discount to your register. There is only one lane with a cashier, I assume to keep costs low, but the lines always move quickly. read more

This location reminded me so much of the Menifee location when comparing layouts of the store, but more so like the Murrieta location with their lack of customer service. There were a bunch of employees on the floor throughout the store, no greeting, no acknowledgement, no offer of assistance, etc. on top of that, the two items we came for (normally stocked items) were the only two they did not have which is odd because every other location I have ever been in, it's a staple in all locations. Their AOS aisle was also very haphazardly disorganized with random things just shoved on the shelves with no rhyme or reason. ALDI is my jam, but I for sure wouldn't return to this one. read more

1/14/25 Yep... Limit TWO per person, a dozen or flat (eggs) and prices , got the $5.54/dozen of large brown eggs, cage free. No eggs to be had around town, ended up in Mireno Valley since we're dropping Off cherimoyas for my aunt anyway. I like this market, it's easy to navigate AND, they have eggs! Yay! Needed some bananas too. $0.39/lb, not bad. Did a quick survey. Aisles are wide, merchandise are organized. Granted, it's a much smaller market so it's very limited. The young lady, cashier was very friendly. It's a clean store, parking lot is shared among other businesses. It's next to Costco, so picture that scenario lol. I always pass by Aldi since it's close to Costco. This time around, I decided to stop inside and check out what they had. This Aldi store is located just south of the 60 freeway in Moreno Valley on Day Street near Costco and The Habit Burger Grill. It's a smaller grocery store with unbelievable prices! For example, I was blown away to see they had a bag of jalapeños for $0.39! Even the Serrano peppers were $0.39. What a great deal! They also had a variety of cheeses for making sandwiches or charcuterie board. Most of the produce (and other products) they sell here are displayed in the cardboard boxes they came in. But with the prices of food nowadays, who cares right?! I browsed around the store and found items whose packaging resembles a name brand product at a much lower price than what the name brand goes for. For example, they sold sandwich bags whose packing looked similar to Ziploc bags but for a lower price. Of course, I picked up a box of that. Aldi has produce, deli meats, eggs and dairy, meat section, frozen foods, and drinks. Aside from food and regular grocery store items, they also sold non-food items, like camping chairs, beach towels, gardening supplies, etc. I'm not sure if they are seasonal items or if it's like that year-round, but I'm assuming with summer here, they are seasonal. Anyway, it kind of reminds me of the old Fresh 'n Easy stores from a decade and a half ago. Anyone remember that? You can ring up your items with self-checkout or a cashier. They take most payment methods and you can purchase bags for your items. They don't bag your products but there is a long counter where you can bag your purchases into your personal shopping bag before heading out of the store. Similar to Trader Joe's, they have most of the basic produce and pantry items available. During my visit, the Aldi store was clean and tidy, and the workers were stocking up the seasonal section. Lastly, if you are planning to purchase a cartful of items, you can get a cart by inserting a quarter. The quarter is returned to you when you return your cart back to its designated spot. I love Aldi for general grocery shopping. Biggest problem is 1 checker and lines. Going for something specific I go to other stores but I do save money here on bread, milk, eggs, butter, peanut butter, flour, sugar etc. Was buying coffee here but something changed last year and the kind I loved disappeared. Ambience? No store really has ambience, clean is what I look for. Around the first of the month or a onions sale the produce area looks like a cyclone hit it but that's because the sales there is where the deals are something to look for. We always shop here! Prices are right and not overwhelming expensive like other grocery stores. When you're on a budget, come to ALDI. They have non gmo, organic, no artificially flavored foods here. With some products here are a hit or miss because sometimes you go there to get what you got last time, and it isn't there. The workers here are pretty chill and help out when you need them to. They carry good affordable grocery items. Unfortunately today I was racially profiled.... As I entered the store this lady was at self checkout by herself. As the security guard stayed sitting down in his chair closest to the register near the bathroom. When I went to check out my 3 items. The guard made the point to stand up and watch me closely scanning my items. He was about 4 feet away from me. I used the self checkout closest to the cashier. The guard stood there watching me until I left. The only other customer at the time was with the cashier....I am a 40 Hispanic man and I work for the school district.... I used to primarily do my grocery shopping at more typical chain markets like Food4Less or Ralph's but since Aldi expanded to SoCal, I've been going here instead. Growing up, I never got too attached to huge name brand products and using the store brand for most things was just our way of getting by. This is where Aldi shines because almost every store brand product I've tried is of superb quality. Their store is relatively small compared to typical grocery stores so I can usually get in, grab the few things I need, and get out quickly. If you are there for more than a couple items, then you will love their aisle of limited time products. My wife and I like to explore it to see what new seasonal items they have in stock. They also have large 3 wick candles for $4-5. They also have great meat/cheese selection for great prices too for those of you into making charcuterie set ups. The cashiers are very quick. If there are long lines, you will still get out quickly. Other: bring a quarter to use/unlock the shopping cart. You will get your quarter back when you return the cart. Another plus is it's proximity to Costco which makes it super easy to go shopping for small volume and large volume products in the same outing. read more

I spent a good while just people watching in the parking lot with people figuring out why they couldn't pull a shopping cart out. Bring a quarter so you'll be able to use a cart, plus you'll get it back in the end once you return it. Yeah, first time I didn't have a $0.25 coin but I had dimes and nickels. Other people were carrying stuff in their arms since they don't have baskets. So, bring your own bags, they charge $0.10 a bag (I think) and Aldi's large, reusable bags are ~$2; also you need to bag your stuff yourself near the wall. I knew about the bags and quarters thing since this store is pretty popular in europe especially in Germany and the UK, this store is pretty prevalent there. Good amount of German brands since it is a German company, I was pretty excited to try some German foods since it's hard to find here in California. Most of the stuff here are Aldi's exclusives and they're usually made by the same brand companies like Cheerios and Aldi's version are side by side in the store. I also noticed that they had some California exclusives like some sauces and such that wasn't in the German places.The layout can be a bit weird like the garden aisle is near the fruits, the homegoods section is near the bread aisle, they had a $5 pillow that was a weekly special which was really comfy. They keep the prices low with the small staff (but they pay their staff well), the cart and bag fees (i.e not hiring people to get carts), plus their pretty much just sell Aldi's exclusives. We brought alcohol, pizza + mangos for like $22! Aldi's is like Trader Joe's kid brother. It's cheap---MANGOS were 29¢ and a dozen eggs were 79¢. Prices seemed especially good on no-brand products like chips ($1.98), protein shakes ($4.99), yogurts (.34¢), coffee creamer ($2.20) and coffee pods ($3.99). The store staff was helpful. I went to Aldi this morning (Monday, Jan. 16, 2023-MLK Birthday/Holiday) to primarily get trays of their Heart To Tail dog food (3.5 oz. each). I usually go to Aldi once a month to get dog food. My chihuahua seems to really like the flavors. Plus, the price this time (.75 ea.) had gone up a little due to inflation. I bought 20 small trays of Heart To Tail dog food = $15.00. But, still it is a lot cheaper getting these small trays than in other stores where they can be up to $1.69 each depending on which store you visit. I remember a few years back prior to the pandemic when they use to be .49 cents each. They only have 3 flavors: Filet Mignon, Grilled Chicken and Prime Rib. But I notice their trays of dog food can go fast. I usually shop in the morning when items are well stocked in the store; because later in the day, certain items are bought out. I briefly went to check out their Bread section. Lo and behold! Their L'Oven Fresh (LF) 100% Whole Wheat and L'Oven Fresh (LF) 12 Grain breads were on sale for .99 cents each. These are 24 oz. breads and are great for making sandwiches! Then, I noticed another bread special: Their L'Oven Fresh (LF) Classic White Bread (20 oz.-1 lb. 4 oz.) were on sale for .59 cents each! I decided to buy 2 of them. I think these items were sale prices, but I do not know for how long. These are Aldi's store brand bread items. I needed to leave the store because my brother was awaiting me at the cash register. I also bought their large tote bag for $1.99. I always bring tote bags to fill my groceries as the bags are foldable. My receipt came to $21.47. When we came home, I immediately opened the L'Oven Fresh (LF) Classic White Bread and put 2 slices in the toaster. I noticed the bread was very fresh and soft as it was freshly baked. I was hungry to have toast with butter. When this Aldi store had a Grand Opening years ago, the line outside was very long!! The store was not going to open until 9:00 a.m. I was told that some customers waited outside as early as 4:30 a.m. for the Grand Opening, because they heard a lot about Aldi in different cities. They were thankful that an Aldi store was opening in our city. When people were allowed to enter the store, each customer was given an envelope. In the envelope was a gift certificate. Me and my brother were lucky enough to have received a $100 gift certificate! Since it was transferable, we gave it to our sister when her family came out for a visit. It was a mad house in the store as there were a lot of specials in the store. All registers were open. Me and my brother looked at some of the specials and decided to return to the store at a later time when the store is not so busy. I noticed one time that at the cash register, there would be a shopping cart next to the cashier. The cashier would be possessive of the cart that no one takes it if the customer does not have a shopping cart or tote bag(s). Aldi has a system where the cashier would temporarily place your groceries in the cart so that the customer can remove their groceries and take them or transfer them in tote bags that they brought (or bought at the store). That way, there is always a shopping cart next to the cashier so the groceries can be temporarily put in it for the customer to remove. Advice: you can get a shopping cart outside the store entrance using a quarter; and when the cart is returned, the quarter is returned to you. Or, bring your own tote bags to place your groceries. Aldi is trying to keep costs down so that everyone can benefit buying items at low prices. read more

Be very careful when shopping here. On May 31 they were selling eggs that expired June 1 with no notification to the customer. I have seen similar instances with milk. Check expiration dates as they don't have an ethical approach when it comes to expiring products. read more

I'm surprised you don't have to put a quarter in the door to get the door to slide open. But really make sure you have a quarter or you will be basket-less kinda seem bad for business cause If you don't have a quarter for a basket guess what I wont be filling it up with stuff to buy. Also I get that this is a new store concept but not really. We've seen stores like this already in the area like fresh and easy which is exactly the same kind of store if you been there. You got to bag yourself pay for each bag and so and so. I was expecting a lot better honestly as far as selection but in no way is this place a regular one stop shop like your normal grocery store. They even wasted space having gardening stuff which I don't think people would come here for. For those that want to sacrifice convenience for savings then I could see this as a regular stop. Sure your saving money buying non-brand name items but guess what, I can also buy non-brand name items and pay less at any other grocery store. SO excited that we have an Aldi close by now! My husband grew up in the Midwest (and lived in Europe for a few years) and he has raved about Aldi for years. A few things to note: 1. Bring a quarter to get a cart. You'll get it back when you return your cart to the store. 2. Bring your own bags. 3. Don't expect many name brand items. We bought Quaker Oat Squares for a good deal but they're not a regular thing. 4. If you try one of their products and you're not pleased, bring it back to the store and they'll refund your money AND give you something else to try. Keep an open mind when shopping at this store. They might not have the brand you're used to but that doesn't mean it's not great stuff! And who doesn't love saving money? I'm still curious how this store will do being so close to Costco and Winco... only time will tell, I suppose. read more

Been going since I had to cut my grocery budget. Everything I get usually ranges (on average) between $1-2 per item. Sometimes more, sometimes less, but way less than my trips to Sprouts which averaged about $4 an item. Store brands are good. I'm concerned about healthy alternatives but cheap is cheap and what do you expect? Biggest complaint is limited selection, yet I also love how small it is. Mostly my specialty items, like coconut milk, curry spices, and cilantro have been hardest to find. Otherwise, my family of 4 is doing well with weekly trips of about $80-100. read more

There's a decent selection of packaged produce and meat, while wine & beer are generally $1-2 lower than Ralphs. Locals would be wise to remember Fresh & Easy. The Tesco-operated British chain set up locations in Moreno Valley that failed within two years. It's not our fault--they expanded too rapidly and didn't understand the market. ALDI wants to succeed where Tesco failed...but so far I can't see the difference. Here's the problem--as Californians, we're used to enormous grocery stores with a huge selection of national brands. Even budget options, like Stater's and Food4Less, offer an impressive variety of choices. Went to this store to grab some items for a summer drink. There were no carts outside, the person at the door didn't greet us he just stood there. Upon getting inside things were very confusing. Drinks were on different rows and end caps instead of one row. Upon checking out the employees at check stands make everyone's life more complicated by asking one line be formed. When there are clearly stickers at each check stand for customers to stand at. Upon checking out I saw a cart that was not being used by anyone, I went to grab it to help carry my groceries out as no carts were available on arrival. The check clerk was so rude she looked at me and said you aren't taking that cart. Poor customer service from the get go at this store everyone seemed like they were in a bad mood. Thankful for my local store I'm always greeted and everyone is a pleasure to be around. Myself or my sister will not be returning back to this store in Moreno Valley. read more

NOPE. Not down with having to deposit a quarter to use a cart. I understand the purpose -- to stop people from leaving their carts in the parking lot -- but I don't always carry coins or cash, so something extra to worry about. And I can imagine if someone is REALLY in a hurry, it's 25 cents...so they may leave their cart in the lot anyway. But I digress. It was a madhouse inside -- too many people! The store was really small and did not have a wide selection. I was disappointed with the quality of a lot of the produce. It was also not fun having to purchase grocery bags, and it was not fun loading them up to be scanned either - it may have just been my cashier that day, but they were very particular about how I did it and where I could place the cart as I was doing it. Then we had to bag our own groceries and hassle with the cart afterwards. Not a place I'm dying to go back to, that's for sure...especially when there are so many other places to shop. read more

This store is in perfect walking distance of the gym, I can run next door to go grocery shopping. They have eveything here, from mens button down shirts to womens flats. They have a nice selection of food here as well and at a 20% cheaper price then Walmart. I would say 80% of the food is their brand, however they have disclosed their 100% satisfaction guarantee. If you are not satisfied with their product they will replace the item or give something comparable AND give you your money back. You can't lose, its a win win all around!! read more

Went shopping there today. So far, I like it! I love their ideas for efficiency. The quarter DEPOSIT for the cart (you can get it back upon return) is genius! Plus I get more steps on my FitBit. The prices were pretty shocking! $1.15 for a 12oz Sour Cream, I mean how different can sour cream brands be? $1.49 for a bag of Sour Cream and Onion potato chips that taste exactly like Lays? Win, win! I will continue to try their brand of products, and will use the double guarantee if I don't like something. You need to bring your own bags, they check everything back into your cart, and you do your own bagging in an area behind you. The store was crowded at Grand Opening, but still maneuverable. The associates were super friendly, and everyone was working hard. I think what I might like most, is that after shopping at Costco next door, it's quick and easy to pop in there for a random ingredient that you don't need/want in bulk. Not for me! This place seems very inconvenient when it comes to the way they conduct their business. I do not like the idea of having to bring quarters to check out shopping carts. They do not have a butcher or a deli counter. They have a very small selection on everything. They do have an amazing price on eggs and milk. I would come here maybe if it was right next door to my home but this is about 6 miles away from my home and right next to Costco. I choose Costco Baby! Also, having the cashier sitting down just seems very awkward. Why do you guys have gardening section in the middle of the store? It smells like a Home Depot. It was like being in a movie set where the packages were made to look like the name brands but had the generic store brand instead. Nothing motivated me to buy, even though some things had decent prices. I still like the grocery stores I shop at better so I won't be going out of my way to shop here. While it didn't remind me exactly of "Fresh & Easy" they sell a lot of processed and prepackaged foods, bagged salads (which I can't stand) and the way they make the packages look so much like the name brands seemed odd. Yeah, maybe the whole "knock off" thing bugged me more than a little.
