I was curious about the Aldi hype I've heard about through the years. Popped in the check it out for myself. Overall, I found Aldi to be OK. There's a good selection of produce and meats which are priced well. Many of the packaged items are of brands I'm unfamiliar with. The store is clean with almost a fake cleaning scent that is a tad overwhelming. I went around noon and they had only one checkout lane open and no self-checkout stands. The store's vibe is kind of depressing tbh. I thought it would be fun like Trader Joe's, but it's more like a low-end bargain market. read more

Having heard about Aldi for years, but having none available where I live, when I saw the sign I just had to wander in and check it out. I was expecting the store to have the look and feel of a Trader Joe's but it was more like a Bargain Market. The footprint of the store was square with extra wide aisles, well stocked. For each categories, the selection, the choices, was on the small side. An Aldi brand and a national brand; I guess that is their model. Prices are low. Lots of organic veggies and fruits, prepackaged. Same with cheese and meats. Crackers and snacks. Small selection of wine, beer and hard cider. For me the layout was a bit random but I'm sure if I shopped there regularly it would become easier to find things. While I can't leave a Trader Joe's without lots of random purchases because the items are so unique to their brand, and are delicious, I did not find my experience at Aldi's to be the same. read more

Been shopping at this location in Palm Desert since they opened, I used to be kind friendly and clean in the last couple of years it's getting worse and worse and worse, now you have employees there that don't even bother to look at you in the face and say hi or God forbid thank you, it's sad because in Europe all day is Fabulous but this location in Palm Desert is horrible... And with so many new option around they really need to step up! read more

I had never shopped at Aldi, but was curious what all the buzz was about in their new TV ad. It was a very interesting visit. So interesting how the shelves are stacked. Nothing like my other stores. But I was truly amazed at the prices. I'm used to spending $4 or $5 for a can of soup. Here I found them for 39cents and 75 cents per can. For 2023 that is an amazing price. Other items throughout the store were also incredibly cheap. I saw only one employee in the store, and he was the lone checker. Don't bother trying to ask for help locating something. There is no one in the store! They really cut back on staff here. Very interesting. read more

I'm giving Aldi two stars based on the horrible customer service from an individual woman who works there. She didn't have a name tag on so I can't call her out. Let's just say that she's usually there in the evenings and wears her hair in a ponytail. She's brunette. She has no customer service skills whatsoever. She's very rude. She practically slam dunks your groceries into the shopping cart. I watched an elderly gentleman, struggle with his debit card in front of me. She didn't even have the patience or motivation to get out of her chair and come around and help him. She just kept telling him to put the card in. I'm shopping in Palm Springs. read more

Today, I will be confronting whomever is presented to me as the manager of this store. Bringing with me will be the package of DOG MEAT that they sold to me through their store. One would think that this may be a "one-off" or a "rant". WHELLP....it's not. This is something serious. Maybe the packaging needed to be updated to Dog Food and put on the correct shelves. When it comes to eating meat.... humans, dogs and cats all eat the same kind of meat correct??? Also, it was packaged ORGANIC. All of you, who buy groceries, need to be more aware of what the ORGANIC LABEL really means. Not correct. I have other resources that I will be tapping into and ALDI's is not going to like it. Terrible experience as a potential employee! I was told to come to the store at 2 PM for a 30 minute interview. When I arrived, there was a long line of fellow applicants forced to stand in the corner of the store. We were never approached by management for any sort of introduction or accommodations. JUST LEFT TO WAIT FOR ALMOST 2 HOURS!!!!! I even saw the two managers responsible for the interviews taking several breaks as they hid from us in the opposite corner of the store. Keep in mind they did this while we were waiting to take our interviews. Once I was finally called for my interview, I was asked about my previous work experience. When I explained my previous experience at another grocery store, the interviewer went on to belittle my work experience and former employer throughout the interview. He was truly boastful and impressed with himself, so I can only wonder how difficult it must be to consistently work/shop at his store. He was also quite aggressive, as he told me that they will fire me if I make any mistakes with attendance or performance. I hope that the proper changes are made to ensure nobody else is treated the way I was treated. They missed out on a great and reliable college-educated temporary employee who was willing to wait 2 hours for an interview. Growing up shopping at Aldi in Germany, this was a logical pick for me to stock up on drinks and snacks during our stay in LA Quinta. Service was nice, the store new, clean and well stocked. The prices are amazing, the quality is good and I love their weekly specials. I was lucky enough that the week I went they had special items for babies, so we stocked up on organic baby clothes, food, diapers, books, all at a fraction of the price it costs elsewhere! Each location of Aldi is the same as far as selection, prices and quality. They offer one name brand item, and one comparable house brand. Normally, the name brand is always better. House brands are questionable at all Chains, including Aldi. That's why you buy Coke over Shasta. They taste different because they are different. read more

Won't shop here anymore. Came in for loaf of bread and milk. They had a really good price on the wet dog food I buy. So I grabbed 7 cases of it. The person that does the ordering said I couldn't buy that much. I was going to have to put most of it back. So I didn't buy any. Never had a store tell me I couldn't buy something. read more

I like it the items are packed in smaller portions and they are not pricey. But the store always do not have sufficient staffing. For many times I've to wait for the staff to appear at the register to process the payment. Then the staff do not greet and apologize for the wait at all. read more

Prices are good here. Where can you get a 24 pack of 16.9 ounce purified water in BPA free bottles for $2? Nowhere that I know of. It's not a huge store by any means, but good sized. About the size of Trader Joe's. Bring your reusable shopping bags or you'll have to pay for bags. Also bring a quarter so you can use a cart. You have to put in a quarter to unlock the cart. Don't worry, you get it back when you return the cart. Also you bag your own groceries. Therin that's where you get your savings. Milk prices are really good too. I think it was about $2.15 for whole milk. read more

Aldi is a huckster store. I've been in there a 1/2 dozen times for their sale. Invariably they are always out of whatever come on meat they are advertising. Perfect example happened today, one day after their sale. Rack of Lamb, like 8.99/lb OUT, says the salesperson who said that was last weeks add, but the other salesperson said no, it's this weeks but we only got 2 cases. They suck you in for their never in stock specials and then hope you buy their overpriced other products. Go to Sprouts or any other retailer for their specials, always get a rain check if they happen to be out, which is rare. I'm Done! JR read more

Great pricing, no lines, friendly staff, and a sufficient selection of what you need. Their chipotle salsa is incredible... my wife and I have inadvertently made that our dinner on more than a couple nights (filling, tasty, AND we've lost a little weight in the process :) Their sharp cheddar cheese is really good and a fraction of the price that I pay at Trader Joe's or Cosco. I've been really happy with Aldi. Get past the learning curve (quarter for a cart, no bags offered, no bagging items for customers, and expecting that they aren't going to have EVERYTHING) and you should be able to appreciate the store for what it's worth. Prices are crazy good, I've never had bad produce or meat and I consistently buy a week's worth of groceries for my family of three for less than $70. I'm so impressed. No, not all of their generic stuff is great. I'll buy my cereal and most of my snacks that I'm accustomed to elsewhere. Fine by me! Love Aldi! read more

I went to Aldi's to shop during senior hours today. The store opened 15 minutes late. I asked an attendant if the carts had been cleaned. She told me that " in all honesty, they have not been cleaned." There were no cleaning wipes at the entry to the store. When I went inside, I saw employees stocking goods without masks or gloves. None of the shoppers aside from me had gloves on. (I had a mask, gloves, eyeglasses on) The cashiers had no gloves on and we're handling everyone's produce, so cross contamination was taking place. I brought my own boxes to Aldi's to place my purchases in, so that I would have a clean barrier to reduce the chance of contamination. I placed the boxes on the conveyer, spaced so that she could use the hand scanner to scan each item without removing them from the box. The checkout person insisted that all the groceries be removed from the boxes to scan. I again asked her to use the hand scanner. She refused, and started removing all the groceries with her bare hands from the boxes. I told her to keep the groceries, as Aldi's want not performing hygiene safety as advertised. I went to Walmart 2 blocks away and had a 10/10 experience. The employees had gloves, face masks, the carts were clean, there were wipes at the entrance, and there was self checkout with one one else around. I used my own boxes as a clean barrier. My first visit to Aldi and I'm impressed. They have a limited selection of mostly high quality foods. Price is were Aldi shines. Running between just below average to a great buy, depending on the item. A 16 inch (feeds four) pizza about five and a half dollars, four small cans of tomato sauce for one dollar, milk prices are very good and drinkable vines for $2.19. It seems that they cut their costs by lowering the number of employees typically found in food markets, so its more of a self serve experience. I'm a Costco, 99cent, and Trader Joe's shopper. From now on Aldi will be part of my shopping list. read more

Place is hidden but it's an awesome supermarket. Prices are 50% cheaper than Walmart and their brand has high quality products. Not too many people know about this place yet because they just opened. It's always clean and has almost everything you'll need. read more

I love this store. The prices... Uhh-Mazing! They sell it all. ..well most of it. They even sell unique household items. I'm a cheese lover... And they have many different cheeses that are inexpensive. The store is ALWAYS super clean. The staff.. They're awesome..very nice..and extremely helpful. I like shopping here..because of course the prices.. But also.. It's quiet and mellow. I just don't like always having to dig for a quarter to use the shopping carts. But i guess it's smart because they don't lose their shopping carts much because people want their quarters back. I know i do. The store is practically empty for all the right reasons. Some products are OK but many are of the low quality. Just look at their vegetables/fruits. Bought a cantaloupe and it became bad the following day. The avocados are of the lowest quality and so are the tomatoes. The ginger was dry and not usable. How can they even leave it on the display? It looked nasty, The selection was limited. Some shopper whispered to me that since the store was always empty it was not going to make it. I did not fuss around with a coin and a cart but packed everything in 2 bags. The cashier Janet authoritatively told me that it was not her job to help me empty the bag on the conveyor. She was not nice about it. It was very obvious that customer service was not her forte or perhaps she was not properly trained. When I told her that she should not be bossing the customers in her authoritative manner and that it is because of us she gets her salary as we keep her on the job she called the manager. Apparently, she is allowed to spew out her unpleasantness without any recourse. It demonstrates that the managers (district, regional, etc.) are not interested to stay in business and considering Janet's attitude this store will not last. read more
