This is a pleasant alternative to the large grocery stores, especially now that Fresh & Easy has closed. Plenty of potential, and lots of room for improvement. Pluses: * The store is clean, and offers low prices on quite a few products, some of which are not expected -- I bought an electric cooler (no ice needed) for $50! * The produce is always fresh and competitively priced. * The staff is friendly. Minuses: * Besides having to remember to bring your own bags with you, you now must also have to remember to bring a quarter if you want a cart. The carts are chained together at the entrance to the store, and depositing a quarter into the cart's handle will release the chain. You get the quarter back when you return the cart and chain it back up. * They don't bag your groceries here. On most of my visits, I don't get a cart, so after the checker scans my items, they drop them into a cart sitting next to them, and I bag them up after I'm done paying. I feel quite rushed as this is going on, because while I'm bagging, the checker has already begun scanning the person's items behind me, and started dropping them into the same cart. I don't mind bagging my own items, but it would be nice if they didn't start piling the next person's goods on top of mine. * They sell beer and wine, but none of it is refrigerated. Generally, if I'm buying beer or wine, it's not because I think I might need some in a day or two. * The checkers are sitting down, on stools. This is probably nit-picking, but I've never been to a store of any type where the checkers were sitting down. It gives me the impression -- whether true or not -- that they are lazy. * The store is small, which translates into a limited selection. read more

This place is an unorganized mess. If you like shopping at a dollar store then this is the place for you. None of the grocery items are brand name, they are all generic. The produce is not fresh. I bought two avocados and it took almost 2 weeks for them to finally become right. The bananas are extremely green and picked way too soon and sent to these stores way too soon. You need to bag your own groceries at the store as they do not offer any baggage service. You'll also be charged for bags if you don't bring your own bag. My suggestion is to stick to your local grocery store. read more

This is one of my favorite grocery stores! It has great prices and good quality produce! One thing I'll say is check the expiration date of shelf foods. But the check out service is fast and efficient. They have you bag your own groceries which I actually like because it's more organized! read more

Great prices! Small store. Small selection. Comparable to a "fresh & easy" style market. Lots of staff and help. I like how they made it ergonomically niiiice for the cashier! A supermarket with good prices on produce and groceries, includes a small selection of liquor. Walked in looking for cold bottled water. Surprised to find that they simply don't sell just one bottle of water, never mind cold. In an area where weather temperatures reach triple degree weather, why not?! Employees were very friendly and the store is nice and clean. Not sure which market they are catering for but this place seemed to be a good alternative to the large grocery chains. read more

The people here were very nice, the store reminds me of winco, just in a much smaller space (for being a discount grocery/clothing/home goods etc store). I was very disappointed in the lack of organic foods & seeing such a tiny organic produce section made me not really want to buy anything else. Coke/diet were a good price, Gatorade was cheap....most other things in store are their brand, just like every other specialty store you go to. Trader joes, clarks, even target has market pantry...so seeing "brands" I didn't recognize isn't a turn off. I'm more of an ingredient/label reader anyway. Who made it, where is it from, and is it full of chemicals & crap I don't want to eat. I was told they will be getting more organic foods because the demand in Ca is very high, so I will be back to check in a few weeks and see if my next trip is any more fun. If not, I'll just keep driving to palm desert to shop at Clark's. read more

Super low end grocery store, could not even find any real mineral Spring water in bottles. Seems they just sell their own tap water brand.

I really have to question the integrity of the five star reviews. I went today and was appalled. Saving 10 cents on a box of generic crackers does not justify the inexcusable service and experience. The staff is rude, the service appalling, and they don't honor their promotions and sales. First, they won't bag your groceries. Ok, so be it. However they throw them in a basket and if you haven't finished bagging them before they start ringing up the next customer, they throw their groceries in the same basket. You can't even get a shopping cart without a deposit. The deal breaker though was how how I saw them treat customers and pull what appeared to be a bait and switch. I saw two different people in line with several cartons of eggs. The clerk snapped, yes, snapped, at them and said the limit for the sale is two cartons. One was an elderly women. That isn't how you speak to any human, let alone an elderly woman. Someone spoke up for her and pointed out quite politely that the ad said a limit of six. The clerk respondent loudly and insultingly that he didn't care and this store was only allowing two. No one deserves to be demeaned and spoken to that way, let allow denied the price that Aldi published and then humiliated. I will never return and can't imagine anyone with good conscience supporting this store. read more

Come on who needs this fully loaded gmo dollar tree type store. Who is the merchandiser with the selection of Home Depot items , tools etc. fresh and easy wasn't focused but they were better than this. This chain cannot last in so cal. I know they are successful in other places somehow. I expect them to be gone soon. What a waste of infrastructure building that dc off the 60 freeway. Why would we need a cross between a Walmart, Home Depot and a 99 cent store. They for sure will be bleeding millions. And the 25 cent baskets who's gonna return those in 110 degree weather? I first thought what a great way for some homeless to make money returning carts but I doubt the homeless will have many carts to return. If the company really wants to make money they need to change the product mix quickly and it must be different than other chains altogether. There are some organic and gluten free items here that they brand themselves but it's mostly all gmo regular things you can get at Walmart or similar store. read more

I hate to give Aldi such a poor review because as a whole I do love everything about Aldi, but not this specific location. I frequented the LQ store and loved every single thing about it but since I have moved to this side of the valley the PS store is now my closest location and today will be my last visit. This store gets a poor review because their customer service is atrocious. The LQ store has the friendliest most accommodating employees and the PS store can learn a lot from them. The last straw today was my cashier Alba who started putting my groceries in to a new cart while my actual cart contained my very content toddler sitting in the basket. I assumed like the LQ store I'd be allowed to take both baskets for the measly 5 minutes it takes to bag my groceries and return their cart when finished but was instructed by Alba she needed me to move my toddler to the now full basket of groceries. Am I supposed to sit him on top of the groceries or just let him run loose? There was literally no place to sit my toddler in the now full basket so I asked if I could get her a new basket from the bank of about 4 baskets 10 feet away, she sighed heavily and said yeah, ok. So I then as the customer dug through my wallet to find another quarter and retrieved the basket for her. I mean this is laughable. I don't expect any special treatment or even for employees to go above and beyond but simple courtesy goes a long way. Maybe my expectations were too high and I was spoiled by the great employees at the La Quinta location, who knows. read more

We waited till mid-day of week two to check it out. Parking was tight. It doesn't help that they are next to Gene Autry so Jack in the Box cuts into what would be the parking area for Aldi. Aldi shoppers have to be wary of cars flying in from Gene Autry - in an instant they are right on top of you. Remembered to bring a quarter for a cart. Aisles were crowded, not conducive to searching for things. But prices were low, we got quite a lot for our fifty bucks. Organic soy milk was 2.19 where we usually pay 3.00 for non-organic if it's on sale. Eggs 1.88. Half and half 1.99 which is what I pay when it's on sale at the market - but at Aldi you get twice as much. Produce looked good. Checkout was easy but it's kind of awkward that they put all your groceries back in the cart and then you have to go over to the bagging area. I could have bagged them as the checker put them in the cart. Getting our quarter back for the cart was difficult because several people were trying to take carts, confused, and standing in the way. Overall a good value and will be good for an occasional stop. Update: second visit, eggs for 49 cents! We got a lot for our $57 which would have been $62 if two nice gentlemen hadn't given us a five dollar off coupon they couldn't use. read more

been going to this store since it first opens and i must say the prices are great , uh well they still are pretty good but like any store they are creeping up but still very much lower than most any other store around . my biggest gripe is at the cashier line , they rush you so much and when they are scanning and throwing all your bananas and produce gets thrown into the cart like it was a can of soup . bruised avocados smashed bananas and tomatoes . i gave the oriental guy there a " aw come on why you have to throw the bananas in there like that " he just ignored me and kept scanning and throwing . read more

You might not find too many name brands but produce and meats have great prices. What a bargain! Store is always clean. Bring a quarter to use a shopping cart, you'll get it back when you're finished shopping. read more

Tough to rate when the store opens at 9AM. Most of us in the desert are out shopping by 8AM, so off to Walmart.

This store is terrible. I was excited hearing about another market in the area. The other market closet to me is the Smart and Final and they do not always have everything I need, so I had to drive to the next market which is a few miles away. I now still have to drive to the next market because this market sells the same items and less options then Smart and Final. They have no bakery or butcher which is what the area needed and know both markets do not have. Also they ask you to deposit .25 in the shopping cart which sounds like a good idea but if you are like me who never carry change or cash this is a real inconvenience. Also, the mothers with children this would be very difficult to do. I always put my toddler in the car before loading my groceries which I can not do in this store because I have to return the cart to the front of the store. This is very dangerous with the amount of traffic and speeding cars in this parking lot. For families this is not a good store to shop at. read more

No hand baskets, pay to use a cart, no one acknowledges you as you shop even if they get in your way. You have to bag your own groceries( I always help bag in all stores, but here they do not bag at all for you). I had a basket full and asked the girl to not leave my yogurts in the boxes, she did anyways and just piled everything back into the basket. So I had to load my basket, unload my basket, then bag everything from inside the basket or unload it again to bag it and put it all back in basket. The girl just sat there and did as little as possible, no attempt to help also very unfriendly!!!!! I will not shop there again. She sat there until I completely unloaded the basket as well before even starting the order. No customer service here and very rude and lazy checker, 11:30 AM ish on 12/04/2016. The lady behind me in her 70's had one bag of groceries and the girl would not bag that either..Never again- I have worked grocery over 20 years and this is not acceptable!! Dangerous walking into store as there is no walkway and it right by an exit/entry to the shopping center. Be very careful. This was my 3 rd time there and everytime there has been at most maybe 2 checkstands open even with people wAITING. I decided to give it one more try so I went back in today September 25th 2017 I went through the line at about 1:15 p.m.. girl with black hair pulled back in a ponytail pierced nose very rude. I told her that she didn't have to crush my food she said then you should put it at the end of the belt rather than the beginning. I said I usually do but there was a lot of people and I was in a hurry. She continued to pile cans on my tomatoes my cookies and my hot dogs even though I asked her not to. She argued about it with me the whole time and never bothered to move the items. She said that is what they are told to do and that's what they do that's why things are cheap so they don't have to work hard. I told her it was just lazy and she said no you get what you pay for. When she was done I had to replace the tomatoes the cookies and the hot dogs so the store lost the money. If this store did train this way- telling the employees to do this or letting the employees do this horrible they need to be closed down. I will never go there again tired of having crushed food when I get home. I'm tired of them pulling the basket from under my arm if you're leaning on it rude every time. There was an older woman who had a crutch could barely walk they wouldn't even help her or have someone at least carry her bag out I had to do it for her this is disgusting. read more
