I was excited to hear the first Aleko's was moved to Downtown Middletown. Then I was waiting their dining room to be opened. Four of us visited last weekend, and we enjoyed everything. Everyone ordered different dish, and all were great. I loved my falafel platter. Desserts were also great. I'll be looking forward to going back soon.

Absolutely best gyros in town Everything fresh the ppl working there are very polite pita was amazing I'll be back very soon to this little gem of Middletown

Aleko's Review - 3.5 Stars We had reservations and were seated right away. However, from the time we placed our order to when the food arrived, it was a lengthy 45 minutes. They were out of the draft beer we originally requested, so we chose another option. It wasn't bad, though I can't recall the name. We ordered standard American-Greek fare, Gyros and fresh cut French fries. The fresh fries are where I give them the extra .5. The meal was okay, but nothing special. We've honestly had better from food trucks. Dinner was served on cafeteria-style trays lined with wax paper. The gyros were wrapped in foil, and the fries were served directly on the paper. Diet Coke came in bottles with an ice-filled glass. If they want to make this an actual restaurant, this needs to be better. Actual plates and glass pitchers would make for a much better presentation. The wait staff was young and did their very best to accommodate us, which we appreciated. If the restaurant were closer to us, we might consider ordering takeout. Otherwise, we'll probably just wait for the Greek Church to host their gyro days.

Disappointed; the portion size does not justify price of $25. Ordered on-site, waited 30 minutes.

All I can really say is AH-MAZING! We got a falafel pita and a regular gyro on a pita. Both were jam packed with veggies and protein with the protein being cooked to perfection. I would say after ordering it probably took about 10-15 minutes and they call your order out the window which is useful so you can wait in your car. The shop is hidden within a gas station so be sure not to miss it because it's worth the stop! Overall, if I could I would be here all the time!

When the weather is beautiful, I take a trip to Middletown to enjoy some fresh Greek food. You won't be disappointed with anything you eat at this spot. The staff is always welcoming. Perfect spot to enjoy good food and out door peace

Whats more sad is that I paid $15 for something that isn't at all as advertised. I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki Greek Salad as I love grilled meat. Never have I had souvlaki in over a dozen voyages to Greece that was wet boiled or microwaved, as this chicken seemed to be. Souvlaki are grilled skewers. This place should NOT sell the pile of bland, blond, wet chicken breast as "souvlaki." The "Greek" salad was sad. No other way to describe it. It had the ingredients of a Greek salad (lettuce, tomato, cucumber) but the feta was meager and there were no onions. The tzatziki was more akin to ranch dressing (not made with yogurt- real Greek yogurt would hold a spoon standing in it. This was almost liquid.) ) and the pita was a doughy, cheap substitute. Their listing says fresh bread, and this pita was not so much. The owner seems nice and personable, and I wish him well but I also wish he would pay more attention to the product he delivers, especially if they call it, Greek. UPDATE: all ingredients seemed fresh. The issue is it wasn't souvlaki and that was not traditional tzatziki.IMHO

We started strong with the feta cheese appetizer, and wow -- the creamy, briny richness paired perfectly with fresh accompaniments. The Greek salad that followed was unbelievably fresh, with crisp vegetables and vibrant flavors that felt like summer in every bite. But the real star of the night? The pork chops. They were cooked to juicy perfection, seasoned beautifully, and paired with sides that complemented the dish rather than competed with it. Each forkful was savory, tender, and honestly one of the best versions of Greek-inspired pork I've had in a while. What sets Ela Mesa apart isn't just the food -- though it truly delivers authentic, elevated Greek flavors -- it's the whole experience. Guests consistently rave about the warm, inviting atmosphere and attentive service that makes you feel right at home. Whether you're craving classic Greek dishes done exceptionally well or discovering Mediterranean flavors for the first time, this place is a must-try gem. We'll absolutely be back -- and next time, we're leaving room for dessert!

There was a short line when I arrived, but the counter-style service moved pretty quickly and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Sometimes counter-style is surly and brusque; not here. The staff go out of their way to make sure that you get all the toppings you might enjoy. As a first-time customer, I appreciated that. The shop itself is small with some seating but nobody was dining in; this was not because it's not popular (see the aforementioned line), I think they're just primarily geared towards takeout. I'll definitely be back, especially if I'm in the neighborhood anyway.

The new building is very nice inside, much better than their old place. We were greeted fairly quickly at the door, given our own silverware and menu and told to sit where we wanted. I did think in a nice looking restaurant like this they could have simply asked us where we wanted to sit and taken us to that area instead of relying on us for the set up. We brought wine as they are currently BYOB. We had to ask for a wine opener twice before getting one which didn't come to after our dinner was served. We ordered meals with salad which were suppose to come with pita bread. The waitress announced she forgot our bread with our salads and would bring with our main meal. Our main meals seemed to have some quality issues. My Gyro seemed like it needed more meat and cheese. My husbands meal with steak was very chewy. When my husband told the waitress he had an issue with his steak, she said, "it was chewy right?" It was very strange that they knew they were serving sub par steak, but choose to do so anyway. Overall I would say our experience was very disappointing especially considering others positive recommendations. Perhaps they are having growing pains in their new location. It didn't appear that anyone was "in charge" of the restaurant when we were there so perhaps having a more seasoned staff or owner on duty would help.
