This place is a hidden gem. The food is off da chain and the service is great. If you're looking for some authentic amazing Mediterranean food or just something different go try them out you won't be disappointed. Screw chipotle! Screw Cava! This is where it's at! Build your own bowl or wrap, or choose one off the menu. I couldn't decide between the falafel wrap or falafel bowl; both had the same ingredients but I didn't want a ton of pita or thick bread. I got the wrap, and OH MY GOD. We picked up and ordered our platters. And let me just say that portions were generous, food delicious and fresh. This was Tulip Grill before so I don't know what it looks like now since the hubby picked up our order. Parking is not too bad but be aware that it can get busy due to DD, Lantern Sushi & Roy's are nearby. They notified my hubby that they needed 5 more minutes to get all our order cooked, and put together. Minor comment- though I like the flavor both green and tamarind sauces were a little thin. I like a thicker sauce for dipping. Also the fries though well-seasoned could be crunchier. Still highly recommend trying them out. I have two more meals from my platter. read more

Falafel Kabob Mediterranean Grill earned this rating primarily on the value proposition of their food. Everything on the menu is packing a fairly hefty punch of flavor, and the servings are generous. There was a short line when I arrived, but the counter-style service moved pretty quickly and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Sometimes counter-style is surly and brusque; not here. The staff go out of their way to make sure that you get all the toppings you might enjoy. As a first-time customer, I appreciated that. The shop itself is small with some seating but nobody was dining in; this was not because it's not popular (see the aforementioned line), I think they're just primarily geared towards takeout. Forget Cava, this establishment, the food, the people, is beyond compare. I read a few reviews and last night I decided to go there with my wife for dinner. It was absolutely the best Mediterranean style food I've had in Frederick (I have been here 9 years). I had they gyro, was the best I've had in over 10 years! My wife had a bowl with lamb and she raved about it. This will definitely be on our "repeat" list of eateries from now on. read more

This spot could possibly be the best Mediterranean in Frederick! I was recommended this spot by a coworker and I couldn't be more grateful! I've tried this place twice now and have yet to be dissatisfied. The first time, I came in to grab lunch with my family. Built my own bowl both times. The chicken shawarma is seasoned so well and very flavorful and tender. The sauces (especially the garlic) are fantastic!! The owner (I assume) came over to our table to ask how we were enjoying the food and also provided a recommendation of trying the fries next time! He was extremely friendly, which really just added to our experience. The vibe is very causal inside but nicely decorated. Very cute. This place does get busy around lunch time, so I would recommend placing your order online in advance. Clearly the word is getting around about how good it is and for good reason! Run, don't walk, and try this place ASAP. read more

Made a stop during a long drive, not knowing anything about the place. We had the made to order wraps (one chicken and one falafel). They were both delicious! The falafel was made to order and they had a lot of topping to choose from. They even had the sauces that were vegan labeled, which I always appreciate. A great little gem. The staff were friendly. Real Shawarma!!!! They marinate the meat, stack it on the verticle spit, and grill it. They make their own pickled vegetables. I have had the shawarma bowls, and today I had the lamb shawarma wrap. The food is delicious, and the people are really nice and helpful. Definitely a keeper. read more

It starts and ends with great food. They are doing it right. Lamb bowl was delicious and i love all the wonderful toppings. The owner let me tried the falafel, which is just as good as mom makes--don't tell her I said that. Nice owners, and simple but filling menu. I feel like I found a favorite near us. It's not one of those places where I would travel to, but…read moreif you're relatively close to Urbana, it's worth a stop. It's a small mart that specializes in middle eastern Mediterranean cuisine and ingredients. They place does not have seating inside, but plenty of seating outside. So plan on either take out or picnicking. They make the food right as you order so things are fresh. The part I really liked about this place was that the sauces were not overly salted - to increase shelf life - and the amount of oil/butter was not overly used to try to mask the ingredients. It's more on the "let the ingredients speak for itself" which I really dig. In the end, you don't feel heavy after the meal and you feel like you had a hearty and healthy meal. My favorite was the lamb shawarma. He toasts the outside pita and it gives it a nice crunch. The lamb is fresher than other places and he doesn't over season it to hide the lamb smell. Other places - if you notice - tends to use cumin a lot of mask the lamb smell. Not here though. The falafel sandwich was okay. It was colder than the lamb shawarma. But the falafels were made right there in front of you. I got the sujuk sandwich too (which is a type of sausage). It was a breakfast burrito basically. Our order took 20 mins to make and he makes it right when you order. So be prepared to stay there and peruse around. Some ingredients there were interesting. The one thing that caught my eye was a bottle of pomegranate molasses. He sells it close to 50% what Harris Teeter would charge and he has various brands of pomegranate molasses. I use pomegranate molasses to make grenadine for cocktails. Also has orange blossom and rose water (also both used for cocktails) I like this place and the guy is nice and sweet.

I'm not vegan and don't go seeking vegan meals but I do like to eat a ton of veggies so this was right up my alley. Ummmm do yourself a favor and get the bowl with potatoes rather than rice. The potatoes have a ton of flavor, as do the veggies. And it's soooooo filling. Beautiful fluffy rice and a simple salad of romaine lettuce, tomatoes, feta and a light vinaigrette were also included. Everything was delicious! And saw the "under" orientation of the toilet paper, which violates the original patent for toilet paper holders from 1891, where the paper clearly goes over the top. The "over" configuration: * prevents the roll from brushing the wall * makes it easier to grab with one hand * reduces accidental unrolling * and, most importantly, does not make decent people feel like they're living in a lawless society. What you have here is bathroom anarchy. I must admit that tile and brushed metal fixtures actually look really nice, which somehow makes the backward roll even more upsetting. It's like a beautifully plated meal served on the floor. Moreover, the ceiling contains approximately 400 judgmental eyes observing you while you attempt to live your life. The wallpaper on the ceiling (on the ceiling!!!) has a pattern based on the "evil eye" motif (sometimes called nazar), which shows up in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern design. Traditionally it's supposed to ward off bad luck or jealousy. All it does in this case is confirm the establishment has abandoned reason and at least one of the people who work has met a psychedelic mushroom. I recently had a bit of a mix-up with my Uber Eats delivery, receiving the wrong order first. Thankfully, we caught the error in time because this meal was not one to miss! Despite having to add my own utensils and missing napkins (when I did check the box to request them) the custom falafel bowl with lamb and chicken shawarma was a delight. The ability to choose as many ingredients as I wanted--pickles, hummus, various sauces, and fresh salads--was a huge plus. On the downside, the French fries were a letdown--greasy, limp, and nothing like the crispy, seasoned ones shown in the menu photo. However, the real star was the dessert: the gulab. It was my first time trying it, and I loved its sweet flavor and unique texture. It a popular South Asian dessert made from deep-fried dough balls soaked in a sweet, fragrant syrup, typically flavored with rose water or cardamom.
