We picked up and ordered our platters. And let me just say that portions were generous, food delicious and fresh. This was Tulip Grill before so I don't know what it looks like now since the hubby picked up our order. Parking is not too bad but be aware that it can get busy due to DD, Lantern Sushi & Roy's are nearby. They notified my hubby that they needed 5 more minutes to get all our order cooked, and put together. Minor comment- though I like the flavor both green and tamarind sauces were a little thin. I like a thicker sauce for dipping. Also the fries though well-seasoned could be crunchier. Still highly recommend trying them out. I have two more meals from my platter. read more

Falafel Kabob Mediterranean Grill earned this rating primarily on the value proposition of their food. Everything on the menu is packing a fairly hefty punch of flavor, and the servings are generous. There was a short line when I arrived, but the counter-style service moved pretty quickly and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Sometimes counter-style is surly and brusque; not here. The staff go out of their way to make sure that you get all the toppings you might enjoy. As a first-time customer, I appreciated that. The shop itself is small with some seating but nobody was dining in; this was not because it's not popular (see the aforementioned line), I think they're just primarily geared towards takeout. I'll definitely be back, especially if I'm in the neighborhood anyway. read more

This place is a hidden gem. The food is off da chain and the service is great. If you're looking for some authentic amazing Mediterranean food or just something different go try them out you won't be disappointed. Forget Cava, this establishment, the food, the people, is beyond compare. I read a few reviews and last night I decided to go there with my wife for dinner. It was absolutely the best Mediterranean style food I've had in Frederick (I have been here 9 years). I had they gyro, was the best I've had in over 10 years! My wife had a bowl with lamb and she raved about it. This will definitely be on our "repeat" list of eateries from now on. read more

Screw chipotle! Screw Cava! This is where it's at! Build your own bowl or wrap, or choose one off the menu. I couldn't decide between the falafel wrap or falafel bowl; both had the same ingredients but I didn't want a ton of pita or thick bread. I got the wrap, and OH MY GOD. This spot could possibly be the best Mediterranean in Frederick! I was recommended this spot by a coworker and I couldn't be more grateful! I've tried this place twice now and have yet to be dissatisfied. The first time, I came in to grab lunch with my family. Built my own bowl both times. The chicken shawarma is seasoned so well and very flavorful and tender. The sauces (especially the garlic) are fantastic!! The owner (I assume) came over to our table to ask how we were enjoying the food and also provided a recommendation of trying the fries next time! He was extremely friendly, which really just added to our experience. The vibe is very causal inside but nicely decorated. Very cute. This place does get busy around lunch time, so I would recommend placing your order online in advance. Clearly the word is getting around about how good it is and for good reason! Tasty carry out. We had Falafel bowls, which were ready when we arrived. Checkout was a breeze. Don't use Apple Maps to get there. The carry out with 4-5 dine in tables is across Waverley drive from Boscov's, not sure why the route was mapped around 1/2 of the apartment complexes on the west side of Frederick. read more

I love this place! I'm a grub hub driver part time and everytime I come in for an order my order is always ready! One of the few spots around town that actually does that! Made a stop during a long drive, not knowing anything about the place. We had the made to order wraps (one chicken and one falafel). They were both delicious! The falafel was made to order and they had a lot of topping to choose from. They even had the sauces that were vegan labeled, which I always appreciate. A great little gem. The staff were friendly. I went to Falafel Kabob for lunch today and would go back tomorrow (and every day after) if I could. I got a chicken shawarma bowl with all of the fixings and tried a couple of sauces (mild garlic, shug). My friend had the falafel bowl. The flavors and textures were amazing. Real Shawarma!!!! They marinate the meat, stack it on the verticle spit, and grill it. They make their own pickled vegetables. I have had the shawarma bowls, and today I had the lamb shawarma wrap. The food is delicious, and the people are really nice and helpful. Definitely a keeper. read more

It starts and ends with great food. They are doing it right. Lamb bowl was delicious and i love all the wonderful toppings. The owner let me tried the falafel, which is just as good as mom makes--don't tell her I said that. Nice owners, and simple but filling menu. Our order took 20 mins to make and he makes it right when you order. So be prepared to stay there and peruse around. Some ingredients there were interesting. The one thing that caught my eye was a bottle of pomegranate molasses. He sells it close to 50% what Harris Teeter would charge and he has various brands of pomegranate molasses. I use pomegranate molasses to make grenadine for cocktails. Also has orange blossom and rose water (also both used for cocktails) I like this place and the guy is nice and sweet.

We both enjoyed the Meat Sampler at our first dinner and took home leftovers - nice variety of meats. It comes with a good basmati rice but you can also choose a salad or French Fries. Gotta love a place that offers you both! This visit, I had the Moussaka Entree (gluten free) which was a special that night. It was tasty with no spice that overwhelmed the dish. Nice size slice with a salad with tomatoes. My husband had the Chicken Kebob which came with three skewers of chicken and salad (instead of the French Fries). We both took some food home especially after the Dip Sampler. We arrived around 5 pm and got the benefit of the Happy Hour price of $2 off a draft beer ($6 instead of $8) and $1 off the martini. The baklava has a generous supply of nuts, and I have enjoyed the Baklava Cheesecake at home for dessert. The restaurant decor is relaxing and attractive with thoughtful touches like a little table for your purse or to put your leftover containers on. The metal artwork tree, wicker lamps and paintings on the wall contribute to the cozy ambiance. Service has been prompt with someone coming over to greet us quickly. For my espresso martini, they had run out of espresso, but someone went to buy espresso from a coffee shop instead of telling me to order something else. Aleko's is a lovely, neighborhood gem. It is also on Resy for reservations.

I recently had a bit of a mix-up with my Uber Eats delivery, receiving the wrong order first. Thankfully, we caught the error in time because this meal was not one to miss! Despite having to add my own utensils and missing napkins (when I did check the box to request them) the custom falafel bowl with lamb and chicken shawarma was a delight. The ability to choose as many ingredients as I wanted--pickles, hummus, various sauces, and fresh salads--was a huge plus. On the downside, the French fries were a letdown--greasy, limp, and nothing like the crispy, seasoned ones shown in the menu photo. However, the real star was the dessert: the gulab. It was my first time trying it, and I loved its sweet flavor and unique texture. It a popular South Asian dessert made from deep-fried dough balls soaked in a sweet, fragrant syrup, typically flavored with rose water or cardamom.
