Had dinner at Alexander Pierce for the first time last night and it truly exceeded expectations. We had pasta and pork chops, salad and all top shelf. The entrance is not a typical store front. It takes you to the back of the building which has a beautiful walk way leading to a Modern Stainless Steel Door. Once we entered we were pleasantly greeted by the front of house and the staff made you feel very welcome. Our waitress was excellent and new all the menu items and was giving all 8 of us Great service. The restaurant had a great atmosphere that was enhanced by the excellent food. Akron needed a place like this!! read more

Had the privilege to dine first time last night...beautiful ample patio and decor. Inside atmosphere inviting and sophisticated. All staff wearing masks and spacing 6 ft is followed. Owner Nick visited our table 3 times. Desiree, our server, was prompt and courteous and informed us off the many specials. Crisp Reisling and all satisfied with drinks. Our group ordered the Scallops, the Rib Eye, the Double Bone Pork Chop and a Wedge Salad with Shrimp Cocktail. Everyone very happy with taste and quality of all meals. Chocolate layer cake dessert can easily feed 3 per slice. My only suggestion is salads and sides were a little on the small side, and menu reading hard with sparse lighting. Definitely will return... on line with Diamond Grill and better than Ken Stewart's . read more

A friend and I dined here on a recent Saturday evening. Right now it is reservation only and they do have a small outside patio area where we sat. We split mussels and brussel sprouts for an appetizer and our entrees were the scallops and the double cut pork chop. Everything was amazing and I will definitely be back to try new things! The night we went there were 2 birthday parties going on so it seems to be popular for a special event. My only complaint is that the baked potatoes were not ready as someone didn't put them in early. The wine pour was generous as well,, always a good thing. If you are a penny pincher then this is NOT the place for you, items were pricey but, to me, totally worth it for a very nice meal with friendly service. Don't forget to tip well!! read more

Our second time here and it did NOT disappoint. Hands down the best food in Akron. Josh was our waiter and he is OUTSTANDING! Very professional and friendly. All his recommendations were spot on. Our steaks were cooked to perfection, blue cheese fondue was delicious; salads cold and crisp with just the right amount of white french dressing. We had the stuffed meatball and seafood corn dogs for apps. Every thing we've ever eaten here has been out of this world tasty. The manager stopped by our table a few times to check on us, and everyone we came in contact with was concerned with our time there. Yes, it can be pricy, but worth every dollar! read more

M- This was my second trip to the restaurant and I was not overall disappointed. The food was elevated above that which can be found in Akron or Cleveland area. The place is a bit hard to find, the parking lot is a challenge, and the atmosphere is a bit small and cramped. The service was professional and the prices matched the quality. The coffee was a bit off but my meal was good. Everything was great except the noise levels I had the unfortunate experience of loud obnoxious Patrons in my ear all night both occasions. I would suggest a screening at the door for manors. I guess the ability to pay for a meal is not enough to filter out inconsideration. So what can be done the acoustics and hard surfaces are a problem. They have additional room for a large party but it takes up needed floor space and seems to be unused. Maybe a redesign or a change of locations also the manager was the hostess very nice person but she didn't reflect the expectations of an upscale restaurant by how she dressed. All this to say a bit of tweaking would earn another star from me. read more

Finally got a chance to visit Alexander Pierce a few days ago! We had a table of 8 for a birthday celebration dinner. It was all around an awesome experience from the beginning! Nick (the owner) greeted us as soon as we walked in and showed us our table. Most of us arrived at staggered times but our waitress (Mandi) quickly greeted and welcomed each one of us. All of the featured items sounded amazing. The reservation was set for a later time but we were never rushed to order. We had multiple appetizers and drinks before ordering our main entrees. Everything came out in a timely manner and tasted delicious! Our waitress was on top of refills and clearing empty dishes as needed. It was close to closing time and our table was still offered dessert (which most of us ordered). Again, very delicious and presented nicely. All around a very good experience and I know that I will definitely be returning and bringing friends/family! Coming from someone that works in the service industry, it's easy to pick up on things that aren't done right (or to your liking) and I can say that none of that occurred during our visit. Unfortunately it just missed the mark all the way around. We started with an app, a special of the night, a seafood puff pastry of sorts...the crab meat was fishy & the dish fell short. We also tried the special of the night as an entree-- an Asiago pepper pasta with salmon & shrimp. Salmon was a bit too fishy, but the pasta noodles were delish. A member at my table had the cavatelli Al burro with chicken-- again, the pasta was great but the chicken prepared with the dish was extremely questionable. Table next to ours had an unpleasant experience, wait staff spent a lot of time communicating & discussing with them the issues they experience which unfortunately left other tables (ours) hanging in the dust. Ordered martini's on the rocks, had them straight up ..but couldn't tell anyone because no one came to check on us. Desserts were huge & the carrot cake is extremely yummy, but wouldn't return or recommend. King Fish, Ken Stewart's, or Delmonico's is where I would happily pay for a meal ...Alexander Pierce just doesn't make the cut. read more

This has become my favorite restaurant in the Akron area so far! This was our first time here and we ate definitely coming back! The customer service is impeccable! I will be calling in the am for the servers names. This was our first time here and the explanatory direction from the servers regarding the specials, food choices and drinka; were impeccable! The setting was so quaint and cute! It was very much as if we entered a speakeasy from the prohibition era. This time we were in the coat room with access to the parlor room (tv and pool table) as well! I can't express enough how great the staff were with direction and interaction! The food was amazing! I ordered the calamari and jumbo shrimp to start and the Norwegian salmon and lobster tails for the entree. The vibe was amazing! I have no critiques as far as appetizers! As entree; I did order the salmon medium and two 7oz. lobster tails. I would say a few more minutes on the salmon would have made it more lovable but it was amazing as is, as well! Also, I do believe the lobster tails were a little to close to the flame/heat and the outside became a hard rubbery texture. The food taste was amazing either way though! The alcoholic drinks were amazingly proportionally mixed as well. Probably the best mixing I have encountered! I cannot express enough how professional and friendly the staff was. My reservation is as at 8pm and the restaurant became very busy at the time. I give full kuddos to the staff for how amazing they were during a busy moment also. Also, a women came to check on us in the coat room. I am unsure of her title but she asked how the food and drinks were. I would think to assume she's in management but either way; she was so polite and gave off the vibe that she was actually considering our thoughts. These days the service industry is soooooo hard! We have been twice, including last evening. Really cool place with a great vibe. Live music was really nice. Food and drinks have been outstanding - love the calamari, filet and chicken special. The place was packed last night including an unexpected large group in the vault room which lead to a delay in our food being served. The owner came by to explain the delay and told us our meal was on the house. Great customer service. Looking forward to returning. read more

We recently had dinner here, it was disappointing. The food was ok, the service, average at best. Our waiter never gave us the specials. We didn't know there were specials until after our dinner arrived. My baked potato was not hot, nor was it done. My rib eye was nothing special. Our waiter disappeared shortly after our meal arrived. We sat for 20-30 minutes, after we finished eating, waiting for our plates to be cleared and a dessert menu. Fortunately we were not in a hurry. The best part of our meal was the chocolate cake. We decided this restaurant might be good for drinks and dessert. read more

We celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary at Alexander Pierce on 7-30-21 and what an experience. The food was awesome!!! Everyone was so nice and professional! Our waitress Kailin took good care of us. The GM David was awesome, and he gave us a tour. We even met the chef. If you want a nice ambience setting with great food, this is the place to go. They had nice soft music playing while you ate. The owner Nick put a lot of thought and money into this establishment. This is a hidden gem!!! This is on the business card "If guest leave happy then we did our job. If guests leave happy and take the time to leave a great review then we've provided and experience." Guess what you have provided and experience that we will cherish. We have been to many nice restaurants with great food. Pier W in Lakewood was my favorite restaurant, but now I have another favorite. After we ate, we got a tour of the establishment, and we didn't know that they had private movie settings for a party of 4 or 6. It comes with your own eating area and then you have your own private movie theater that you can stream movies. There is an additional cost to rent the room between $30 - $40 an hour with a minimum of 2 hours, but it is worth it. My husband and I decided to come for a date night last minute on a Saturday evening. The place isnt the easiest to find, but at least they had a large neon green sign showing that parking and entrance is around back. Thankfully the gps showed what side of the street they were on, otherwise we certainly would have had to turn around and look again. Parking is a little cramped. Once we were inside, we were greeted immediately, but the hostess seemed a little lost. She took out the menus and put them back 3 times, not sure if she kept grabbing lunch menus or drink menu? Just kind of odd, but no problem, we waited for her to sort it all out and take us back to our table. We were seated in the back area, kind of closed off from the rest of the dining room. It was cozy, tho a bit loud since the sounds of the dining area were coming through the doorway and bouncing off the wall we were sitting at. If they could have shut the door it would have been perfect. We ordered drinks and the flatbread, both were very good. Our waitress was so sweet, but super nervous, maybe she was new? I ordered the special and my husband got a steak. Salads were great, enjoyed the housemade balsamic and white french. My steak was overcooked, but I didnt complain as it was only a 4 ounce filet and having worked as a line cook I know how difficult it can be for grill to get that right. Desserts were good, the carrot cake was as delicious as it was massive! I took leftover cake home for the kids. Total for dinner, drinks, apps and dessert was totally reasonable and we were happy with what we got. From what I understand they are newly opened, therefore I think there are a few kinks to work out with staff, but overall we plan to return in the future. read more

Everything from the beginning to the end of our dining experience was perfect. The service was outstanding. Desiree was informational, friendly and timely. I could tell she took the time to learn everything about the menu and was well- trained. The food was above and beyond. The steak was unbeatable. It was extremely flavorful and melted in my mouth. I'm not a fan of Brussels sprouts- but even they were unique and flavorful. I'm addicted to them now. The French Onion soup was excellent. Sometimes French Onion soup can be too salty or have too much bread in it, but not this time. It was perfect. My salad was even delicious. The white French dressing is amazing. We will be back. The only problem I have is this restaurant is not on Hilton Head Island where I live. When they said Akron's finest, they meant it. I lived in the area for the majority of my life - and have eaten at all of the up-scale restaurants. Alexander Pierce has the best food. read more
