Closed and hour early with people in the parking lot pulling up to eat. Bad show. Bad, bad show. Updated: came back the next day--because they're the only damn place in Akron with real chili (beans in chili ruins chili!) and it took nearly 5 minutes to be seated and then we sat there for another 20 minutes without anyone at all even greeting us or taking a drink order. So I understand that Spaghetti Warehouse has been open for over 30 years but there is no excuse for the poor condition. The table cover was worn and torn which I am sure would cost a few dollars to replace. I ordered a simple plate of spaghetti with a meatball and a kids chicken fingers and fries, and that took almost a half hour and they weren't very busy. Seemed that waitress preferred every other table but ours. The top of the list she comes and asked what we ordered because they lost the electronic ticket. The food was alright-ish, not bad but absolutely not good. Mozzarella sticks were good. Our server seemed new, but he really didn't seem like he knew what he was doing, nor did he seem like he cared. Applesauce took 20? minutes to come out. The bathrooms were absolutely horrendous and smelled putrid. Really everything was dirty, doesn't really seem like janitors are hired here. I've lived around Akron for 20 years and have always wanted to check this place out and finally did. The inside was really cool. Alot of different signs and a trolly car, that was fun. Garlic cheese bread was good and the $1 additional side salad was basic but good for the price. I was pretty disappointed though in the sauce, literally had no flavor. After a lot of pepper, hot peppers seeds, and Parmesan cheese (which we had to wait 10 minutes to get), it was edible. My sauce was super watery in the build your own bowl. Finally visited this local spot in downtown Akron where it's hard to tell from the outside what's going on inside. You walk in and it's huge! A high-ceiling warehouse vibe with a very eclectic mix of art and local history, big light fixtures of varying styles, and old-style games in the front near the bar, even the skee-ball that I loved as a kid in NJ. Service was friendly and prompt, and the food was good and well-priced for the quality. The sauce is on the sweet side and served generously with the pasta dishes. The bread and salad were solid. On Friday night, any bottle of wine is $15 and they have other drink specials each evening. It was a little warm inside on this very hot day. Overall, definitely recommend a visit. So we had to wait for a table which was fine. We waited about 20 minutes got sat at a table. It took nine minutes for anybody to even acknowledge that we were sitting there and then it took 10 minutes or so to have drinks brought out and bread. They said that they were short staffed that would probably be an understatement. We got some toasted ravioli and my sister had ordered some fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken and I ordered the baked ziti with Italian sausage- the ravioli came out right away. I had also ordered a cup of soup and that followed roughly 5 or six minutes later and then the entrées seem to be taking a little bit of time and we realize that we ordered more than we really needed at the time so we asked if we could get our entrées to go only to realize that once we got home that they were incorrect there was no meat on the entrées which we had to pay for so that was put on the bill and we never received it and just in general everything was kind of slow moving and the restaurant wasn't busy, but there were people working the waiter that we had. I do not remember his name. He seemed a little uneducated in regards to the menu. I'm used to eating at this restaurant of course I have not been there in some years because I don't live here anymore. I live in Texas, but my friend Randy used to be the general manager. The food was always exquisite and very good. the service was always on point and unfortunately I just I don't know if it was just our waiter or if it was the restaurant in general Definitely need some work on a Friday night at the time we were there they should've been absolutely packed. There were two rooms that were completely closed off. It's hard to generate business when you have people waiting 20 minutes to get half ass who food. So badly too you had to get it to go then for it to be even worse when you got it to go. Had I had an opportunity to speak to a manager I probably would have but I didn't get a chance to notice what was going on with my entrée until I got back to my hotel room and a few hours later got a little bit hungry, and decided I wanted to heat it up, open it up and realized The sausage wasn't in there and then my sister called and said there's no chicken in my Alfredo and I'm like so we charged extra money that we didn't get anything and then the food wasn't that great the service was low mediocre at best. I feel with proper training and proper leadership. This could be an amazing well ran establishment like it used to be 20 years ago. Constantly full people were dressed. Nice service was prompt and on time I never got the glass that I ordered with my beer. I asked for it three times and still never got it and I think that we were his only table but being that I travel and I go to these restaurants all the time the fish rats from the head. Whoever is the manager and owner of that establishment is to oversee it. It's their responsibility to make sure that their servers and bartenders and cooking staff and everybody is running like a well oiled machine and I know that that restaurant used to be that way because it was my favorite so to see it come to such a really bad slide down is disappointing. read more

Food is reallly good, especially that sourdough bread and the 15 layer lasagna. I hadn't been here since college, which was (gulp) well over 20 years ago. Yesterday I went for a banquet and I thought they did a great job. The room was great. The service was fast and efficient. The food was delicious. I have always liked the warehouse atmosphere and I think the architecture and decor is lovely. As a matter of fact, I'll be using this venue for a private event function in the fall. We have been here several times and it is just a solid Italian restaurant. This isn't a incredibly dress up place. You can show up in just about anything. It's incredibly reasonably priced. The place is very unique. You can literally eat In a train car. For kids this place would be a dream and it would break the bank for the parents. read more

I ordered food to go yesterday since I was there in the parking area for the Sakura festival. The food itself was good, let me give some detail here: I ordered the spaghetti dish that came with meat sauce, meatballs and sausage. I have no complaints about the dish. My son ordered the trio that comes with chicken Parm, lasagna and Alfredo. The alfredo and lasagna were good, but the chicken Parm was overcooked and hard. Also the menu said garlic bread but we just got one cold roll that I cut in half, and a side of butter. Also got Italian wedding soup which was good, but a little too salty. Visited here tonight to see Curtains! Mystery Dinner Theatre. The performance took place in the Goodyear room. When we walked inside the restaurant, we were greeted by the hostess at the stand just a few feet from the door. She was smiling when we walked in. We were instructed to go to the Goodyear room. Shortly after we sat down, a staff person came to take our drink order. After we received our drinks, our order was taken. I had the salad and spaghetti and meatballs, while the other two people is was with had the lasagna. The portions were substantial. Both the salad and entrees were large. I really liked the taste of the sauce that was on the spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs were tender and the spaghetti was prepared well. Save some bread to scrape your plate with. The sauce is good on the bread! My family says the lasagna is really super good too. The staff was very attentive, helpful and worked hard. Curtains! Mystery Dinner Theatre was so much fun! After the main course, the first performance took place. Then after dessert, which was an amazing chocolate cupcakes, (forgot to take cupcake pic before it was eaten) the second performance took place. The audience gets to participate. Loved the story lines and getting to solve mysteries. Side note--if wanting to attend the dinner theater, tickets need to be purchased in advance. Social distance guidelines were followed in both the restaurant and the room where the mystery dinner theater performance took place. We had so much fun tonight! Very enjoyable and entertaining evening with delicious food! Will be visiting here again soon! read more

Came for the Dinner "Theater". We were sat in the Warehouse room, not a theater by any stretch. It was a set menu w/ 5 options to choose from. No mods were allowed. No extra bread allowed. No side of sauce allowed. Got sat and the salads were already out. Not ideal. Plus they were a disgrace (see pic). Asked 3x for 2 sides of ranch instead of the Italian - after a long wait, we finally got one side so we just shared. We waited over an hour to get our hot food. 3 from our party didn't want the meatballs & asked for extra sauce... nope! When their meals finally came, they all had meatballs on top...server said to just pick them off!Unacceptable, they do not eat meat & did not want pork on their plates!! I didn't get any bread & asked 2x for bread... nope. Got my soft drink about 30 mins after being sat! Wife asked twice for refill on tea - nope. My fettuccine was a child's portion. Mom in-law ordered same & nearly got double my portion. That's fine since it was dry & needed sauce. The servers came in the room w/ plates of food & merely asked random tables 'did u order manicotti' or lasagna, etc. No service per table so 2 of us were done w/ our food before the other 4 got theirs. It's hard to believe.. but the murder mystery was worse than the food! We were in the back & couldn't understand anything they were saying, and the voices echoed bad inside the warehouse, plus they had face visors on covering their mouths so no chance of following the story!! We could only see 1 of the 3 actors anyway. So we left near end of 1st skit. On way out we saw a full tray of drinks by the door! ..so my wife took one over to the bar to get a to-go cup in order to get the refill she never received. It's hard to believe but maybe the worst annoyance was our table which was on casters so the whole 2.5 hrs, it was rolling around anytime u touched it! All around debacle! It's been over two months since I've visited the spaghetti warehouse. For Mother's Day, I took my mother there as per her request, the waiting, the service and serving sizes was atrocious!!! After approximately 10 minutes, we were seated at a booth and right away, asked what we wanted to drink. Simple enough we'd like two waters with no lemon please. The waitress comes back with one water and no lemon one water with lemon so we asked her for another water no lemon. When she returns to our table, she takes her order and leaves. Never coming back with any bread and butter to our table. After 15 minutes, she comes back with our salad that was so small even both of them combined wouldn't amount to one salad. Then we sat there for another 15 minutes waiting for a knife so that my mom could cut her salad, by the time the waitress came back with a knife. She basically tossed it on the table as she was walking by. After that I was finished. I asked for a manager and waited to talk with him before telling him that I would pay for the salads, even though both of them together would amount to one salad. The manager was nice enough to tell us we didn't have to pay for it and he did apologize. This was so frustrating that I could feel my cheeks flushed, and my blood pressure raising. Thank you spaghetti warehouse for ruining my mothers Mother's Day!!!!! I will never in capital letters NEVER" frequent their establishment again! read more
