Our contract stated that she would provide design and project management services. We also purchased furniture from her for our living room. In total, we paid her approximately $50k for all of these services and products. Throughout the project, Rebecca made us feel as though we were her absolute lowest priority and frequently showed little to no regard for our time. After we paid her for the furniture, Rebecca stopped communicating with us. Her contract states that she will respond to questions and comments within 3 business days, but she frequently ignored our emails and we would typically not hear from her for 4-6 weeks, only after repeated emails from us requesting updates. For 6 months, Rebecca repeatedly told us our technical drawings would be ready within 1 or 2 weeks. Then we would not hear from her for 4-6 weeks, and would often have to email her two or more times before we would even receive a response. In her response, she would simply repeat that we could expect our drawings within 2 weeks. This cycle repeated for 6 months, and we finally received technical drawings in March of 2023, nearly 15 months after we began working with her. The drawings themselves lacked details such as terminations and returns, and even included the wrong colors. These issues were never corrected. Rebecca showed very little regard for our time. She frequently canceled appointments at the last minute without explanation, usually in the middle of the day that she was supposed to meet with us. We generally did not hear from her again for 4-6 weeks at a time, only after repeated emails. After 18 months of this behavior, we finally sought legal counsel. Only after this did Rebecca finally respond to us and deliver our furniture. However, when we had an issue with one of the chairs that required a warranty claim, the same behavior emerged. We would not hear from her for many weeks on end, and appointments were canceled at the last minute, on the day she was supposed to visit. We had a remarkably poor experience with Rebecca. Our project for 3 small rooms should have taken several months, but has instead extended to nearly 2 years without being completed. We would strongly recommend avoiding her services.

We wish we had chosen a different architect. Initially, H2D seemed competent and pleasant during…read morethe first part of our home remodel. However, our overall experience with them was unsatisfactory. Admittedly, our remodel was problematic and revealed challenges we hadn't anticipated. However, common oversights and miscalculations by H2D resulted in generated revenue for H2D and added expense and time to our remodel. At the beginning of the project, H2D called for a meeting so we could discuss key design aspects of a particular room. The plans that H2D created after that meeting failed to reflect the very specific design choices we had made. Additionally, H2D miscalculated a key structural measurement that cost us time and money with our contractors (and it was a mistake that we, with no architectural background, were able to clearly see). H2D also provided plans with handwritten notes that we and 2 contractors could not clearly read. We asked the architect to make the notes legible, which was our expectation from the onset. She made them legible, but charged us an additional $1,200 for the changes. After receiving the invoice and us questioning the charge, the architect stated that she "did not work for free." We asked her to consider reducing the charge by half. She agreed to a 16% reduction. The next invoice we were charged hourly every time a contractor called about our project. H2D managed to recuperate that 16% discount (and then some) by fielding our contractor's questions. Our last dealings with H2D were when we discovered they had provided the wrong plans to a contractor without key revisions. At this point, all parties involved decided it would be better to deal with our structural engineer and bypass H2D entirely. A relationship with an architect is a critical component to a remodel. We had hoped that our architect would take responsibility for poor work and provide helpful customer service (other significant examples lacking in these areas are not included in this review). The continual errors made by H2D, combined with navigating the architects' temperament, made for a sour experience that aggravated an already stressful experience of a home remodel.

We recently decided that it was finally time to give the restaurant a fresh start and a makeover. Jen was incredible. Her attention to detail, creativity, and final vision are genius. Her knowledge of design and her work ethic are incredible. I've mentioned many times that she reminds me of Joana Gaines from HGTVs fixer upper. Jen is the ultimate problem solver. The hallway to our bathrooms needed lighting and she was able to find an effective and chic fix right away. We had an old bench that my painters suggested throwing away before she stepped in to show them how to spray paint it and refurbish it without spending a lot of their time. She noticed a light fixture in front of the restaurant that I had never noticed and all it needed was a light bulb which transformed the entrance. She free hand painted a mural for us which was amazing. She was able to reorganize seating to allow for more space and more seats. Finally she was able to open up the space and brought in more natural light by choosing different colors/lighting. The space really transformed and we didn't have to do any heavy construction. We planned on doing the restaurant in 3 phases. So far we were able to complete the first phase which has had great feedback from our customers. The restaurant already looks new and I can't wait to see the entire project get finished.
