Alexa is probably the nicest food truck operator I've ever met. She remembers your name and your order once you've ordered a few times. All of her staff are really friendly and they make some really good food! Alexa has pretty much everything on the menu and if it's not on there, she'll most likely still make it for you. The prices are really good and the food is really good. On Taco Tuesday you can get any taco she has for $1. Why pay $3-$4 per taco at another place when you can get really good ones for $1! Alexa accepts credit cards, cash and now Venmo which is awesome. Alexa also makes hundreds of breakfast burritos for our company every few months when we have a breakfast event and they are all really good! If Alexa is setting up by you for the first time, definitely go check her and her awesome food truck out!

I've come back here a few times now and it confirms that this is a pretty good taco truck (in Irvine, that is) for a lunch pit stop. I've tried the tacos with carnitas and fish, both were good. I liked how they use guacamole on them. I also tried the carne asada torta. I like how they season the carne asada and on the sandwich they put lettuce, tomatoes, jalapenos and also, sour cream. I enjoyed the sandwich especially because they toast the bread! The whole sandwich just didn't taste like it came off a taco truck!! Will make this a stop whenever I feel the need for a roach coach fix but don't want to drive far.

iCinco de Mayo! What else would a Korean man eat other than Mexican food? Nothing! My colleague's apartment complex has a different truck come every Thursday and when he found out Alexa was going to be there, he invited me over to grub. And grub we did. Between the two of us, we ordered six tacos (two each of the carne asada, carnitas and al pastor), a breakfast burrito and carne asada fries. And that was just as an appetizer. No, I'm just kidding; that was our meal. Relax. The tacos were good; they all came w/ onions, cilantro, guacamole and salsa. In all honesty, they didn't blow me away with flavor, but I enjoyed each one, especially the al pastor. I've had al pastor that was way too salty, but this one tasted really good. The breakfast burrito was a bit smaller than I'm used to and it also didn't have too much flavor, but I liked it. I'm a sucker for breakfast burritos, so I would probably order this again... but I wish it had a bit more personality. Looks can only get you so far, know what I'm sayin'? Finally, the carne asada fries, in my opinion, stole the show. Generous amounts of carne asada, cheese, guacamole and sour cream were given, but the thing that stood out to me was how the fries remained crispy throughout our meal. The fries themselves aren't anything out of the ordinary; they're basically the Ore-Ida fries you can get at a market, but they were perfectly crispy. 3.5 stars. I wouldn't go out of my way to find them, but if I see them, I won't hesitate to pull over.

So I have a story for you guys. This food truck is parked outside my office at like ten a.m. everyday. This review is about three of their menus items. First day I was here I heard rave reviews about the Breakfast Burrito. After trying it for myself I'm convinced my coworkers either don't have very good taste buds or they're not really used to good food in general. The first bite, it was gummy and it was if I was eating cardboard scrambled eggs. So I tried it with the sauce they give you upon purchasing it, and that scorched my tongue. Then I got to the bacon. It was hard, oily and tough to chew. So death to the breakfast burrito. Waste of four dollars I could have bought two monsters with. Second day I was there I had the Steak and Egg Burrito. Let's just say you're better off eating a dried prune, chances are that'll have more juice and flavor. The protein was over cooked, tough, dry like the Sahara desert and the salsa sauce was very salty and spicy. I mean if you're going to make a sauce you give out to everyone shouldn't it be mild? Another four dollars wasted. The third day I went to the truck, I had heard from multiple people that the grilled cheese was amazingly delicious so I thought I'd give this food truck one last time to redeem itself. But sadly it disappointed just like the two previous times. I mean really? HOW DO YOU MESS UP A GRILLED CHEESE?!??! I went with the Wheat Bread Grilled Cheese. One side was burnt and chard while the other side wasn't even toasted. The cheese wasn't melted all the way and it was just horribly greasy. Yet another $2.50 wasted. So in closing and $10.50 later I've concluded that I'd rather make my own damn food than go to this food truck again. I'm thoroughly convinced this food truck should go out if business. I mean how do you mess up a damn grilled cheese sandwich.

I've been a loyal customer for this truck for almost 5 months now. She really cares for her customers and even remembers your name. I come out and buy from her truck at least once a week. A lot of times is more than that (she makes a stop at my work M-F). She always has her specials written on her mini white board. Some of the usual ones are taco Tuesdays and shrimp cocktail Fridays. She can also make you whatever item she has on her larger menu and you can customize it however you want. For instance, I love all the items described in her veggie burrito, but I just ask her to remove the sour cream and add chicken to it, and she does it!! she also has a huge drink selection and a variety of snacks to choose from.

I really enjoy Alexas Catering, Liz and her team are great at what they do. Feeding me... I have been going to "Liz" as we call it, going on 3 yrs now. Alexas catering is a family bases business and you can tell because they treat everyone like family. They have great $1 Taco Tuesdays, they even have papa tacos. Everyone has their favorite dish or special dish she prepares as well, I do a Protein Burrito, its a Bean, Cheese burrito with two sunny side eggs. Mmm. They also has a variety of Salads, Fruits bowls and other health snacks as well. If you see Alexas Catering pulling up, Dont hesitate to walk up and see what's for Breakfast or Lunch. So, I've been after this truck for some time now. I finally found it today, and it was taco Tuesday. I've tried many taco places and salsas. The place is clean. Very quick to make the orders. Friendly, which is very important to me. It's just the the meat didn't have much flavor. The salsa wasn't hot. The torillas were pretty dry. In my experience, the perfect taco must have a slightly oily/ greasy torilla, super hot salsa, and well seasoned meat. I didn't eat alone, I went with 2 more guys and the vote was unanimous. They were pretty good for being $1, but to go as far as giving it five stars, not really. My search still continues for the best tacos in Orange County. read more

Great food truck! Liz is there for breakfast at my place of employment every morning. She makes the place less of a hell hole to work at. I've tried lots of her food from the tacos to the sandwiches to the burgers and various breakfast items. All are good and affordable. You gotta love dollar taco Tuesdays! She also remembers everyone's name and order if you tend to repeat orders. Very kind lady read more

I LOVE THIS TRUCK!!! Her food is always good! I've had her tacos, soups, sandwiches, tamales and My fave Nachos. Everything has good. Her prices are awesome, $4.00 for carne asada nachos that she tops with beans, guac, sour cream, cheese and salsa. The customer service is also as super as the food :) read more

Always good .. tacos, flautas, burgers, shrimp cocktail... lady taking orders is super nice and is constantly reminding the cooks of any orders that are taking longer than they should .. yes sometimes the line is long and yes I have waited a bit longer then I should have once but the price are reasonable and the food is great read more

I've been getting awesome food from this catering truck from the past 5 years. I tell you, they are amazing. Their regular food is delicious like their Tuesday $1 tacos, their mahi mahi kabobs plate on Thursdays and even their shrimp cocktail on Fridays. But since 2012, I started dieting for competitions and they have help me tremendously. Whatever request I ask them, they will do it, from grilled tilapia no oil no salt, to tacos over lettuce instead of tortillas, even to do customized salads for me. They care about their customers as their own family. I am so lucky to have them servicing my area. You definitely get good food for a good price. I love and recommend them! read more

Alexa's catering charged my cc twice for the same transaction. I contacted her about this incident the same day, she said she was too busy to get back to me. I understand mistake happened; it still caused inconvenience to customer. As a business owner, you'll will receive positive plus negative comments about your products or services. She said "I don't appreciate the negative comment", she should apologize for causing the inconvenience instead of giving customer the attitude for giving negative feedback to her business. read more

Ok as far as lunch trucks go this one is the best i have eaten off alot of them and this one is the best by far. Liz is the owner and she is very nice type of person that will know your name and remember what you order. Alexa's truck is amazing. Where do I begin!? I have about her truck for breakfast everyday. The food is always fresh and very convenient. I'm very picky and they will make just about anything you ask. I have my favorites on the menu. The mahi-mahi kabobs are amazing, taco tuesday is the best in OC, chicken tortilla soup, anything on the breakfast menu and her delicious burritos! They are very accommodating to the needs of the customers and will remember the order of any regular. That makes you feel really welcome and will always come back. read more

I've been eating Alexa's catering since I 1st worked for Nextel at the 330 Commerce building in Irvine next to the New Century building 310 Commerce back in 2003-present. Oh wow, I didn't know Alexa even had her own Yelp page! I don't work off Commerce anymore in Irvine but boy did I love her when I did! I've long since shaved off those pounds but she made really good food. I even got a business card from her for catering. Everything is pretty well seasoned and priced well. Generally, I'd get the Jimmy burrito with sausage, hash browns, avocados, cheese and eggs. What I've missed the most are the potato tacos on Fridays and the el pastor anything!!! The best ever is the al pastor nachos on Tuesday. Half order is good for me but boy is that what I always crave till this day! read more

this is one fantastic truck! i only wish that sit-down joints featured the same quality! alexa and her assistant made to-order for us tuna melt, chicken sandwich, and grilled cheese. alexa was very nice, and spoke with me about her food truck and how she has been doing this for two decades! the tuna melt sandwich was on sourdough - and even the bread was full bodied taste :) grilled cheese was on whole wheat, also super. my friend had the chicken and said it was excellent. it only took a couple minutes from their parking spot in a lot...parked in the cool shade, and enjoyed. i absolutely look forward to eating there again! the total bill was under $10, too, amazing. read more

What I would recommend for the owners is to figure out a more efficient system for orders to come through.

For the area that it's located, it's really good and I would get food from this place again. I would probably order ahead for pick-up though since you'd just be waiting on the sidewalk for a while if you order there.

The lady who attended us was very nice and hospitable, she even brought our food to the table. We ordered some tacos, an agua de piña, and an horchata. The tortillas, meat, drinks, and salsas are absolutely delicious!! I love that they have a little seating area with tables, we sat down to eat there and it was such an enjoyable experience; it reminded me of eating at small establishments when I'd visit Mexico as a kid. I don't live close by, but this is a place I would definitely come back to when I'm in the area.

There was also a birria taco truck parked on the same block, in case you come with a carnivores friend. I opted for the 420 tostada. It came with a heaping pile of seafood that tasted fresh and had lots of flavor. The fish and shrimp tacos sounded good, and if I had more stomach space, I would have gotten those too! I ordered and got my food less than 10 minutes later. They also have a bunch of hot sauces to choose from. There are a few benches at the park, but the food truck itself does not have any seating. Parking was plentiful, as the park's parking lot is pretty big. I only saw porta-potties, so make sure to bring hand sanitizer. There were some questionable characters riding around on bikes, so just stay alert. But for the most part, it's fine! Man, I want to go back and order everything else on the menu now...

They're best know for their matcha drinks but I went a different direction, ordering an iced Madagascar vanilla latte and choosing a raspberry pistachio croissant from their pastry case. The interior had no available seating so I sat at an unshaded outdoor table for a few minutes. I appreciated the judicious amount of ice in the latte (I dislike it when places over-ice the drink). It was just okay with no flavor of vanilla detected despite their note that their vanilla syrup is housemade. The pastry was very not-so-great. It wasn't warmed (as requested) and was quite dry. I couldn't taste any pistachio, even with some crumbles on top, and the raspberry was minimal. It was oddly sliced horizontally in half. Based on other reviews, come for the matcha drinks otherwise it's a pass.

The quality is on another level and clearly stands out from most places around here. The Mango Matcha (seasonal) was absolutely insane. If you're reading this review you need to try it. The Matcha with Cream Top was also incredible. The first sip was so thick and creamy that I barely got any matcha which is honestly a good sign. They stick to a more traditional approach and don't add sweetener unless you ask for it. Lastly, the pourovers. Some people might question the price, but take a minute to smell the different beans at the counter. You'll quickly realize that not every bean smells like coffee. The tasting notes actually come through and you can tell a lot of care goes into every pour over they make. Most drinks, aside from the pour-overs, are around $4.50 to $7, which is a far greater value for what you're getting in sheer quality. There are way too many cafes these days that focus on aesthetics and end up sacrificing quality. This place feels like it's run by people who genuinely love coffee and it shows in every order. Last note: they have their system down to a tee. The wait in line may be long but once you order it's super quick to receive your order.

I was in town recently, and after dinner(elsewhere in Irvine) we decided on Suul and Beans for some Bingoo dessert. We shared 2 Strawberry Bingsoo among the 4 of us. This visit reminded me why I normally don't choose to come here, except for convenience reasons, like on this evening. Their Bingsoo is too icy and is not creamy and pillowy soft like other BIngsoo shops. Their Bingsoo almost tastes like shaved ice with fruit on top. Also, the condensed milk was given to us in a small cup and wasn't mixed in the bottom layers of each bowl. So, it was icy at the bottom, all the way to the top and then some strawberries with a condensed milk drizzle, a few mochi pieces, and then we were given a small cup of the condensed milk to sweeten it up ourselves. I don't think I will be back, except if I really don't have a choice for a dessert nearby.
