My family has ordered from here for many years. While consistency in quality could use some attention, authentic Spanish food is limited in the area, so we have continued to patronize them. Last night around 11 p.m., my niece ordered the chicken penne vodka, something she orders regularly. About two hours after eating it, she woke up violently sick to her stomach and was so ill that she refused to touch the half she had saved for lunch. Based on the timing and circumstances, we strongly suspect food poisoning. Food served late at night needs to be just as fresh and properly handled as food served during peak hours--if that cannot be ensured, it should not be served. I hope Alex provides better oversight of food quality and staff when he is not present. read more

We stopped in for dinner and to hear some live music. I ordered a chicken dish with mixed vegetables on the side. My girlfriend got a steak and my other friend got a burger. We all enjoyed our food. The waitresses and waiters couldn't be any nicer. Food was good and there's lots to choose from. They were very helpful with doing a gluten-free menu for my girlfriend. They went above and beyond. The seafood was very tasty I could easily rate as 4 stars. Unfortunately the cocktail called "Paloma" was awful. It was like a limeade with a drop of tequila if any. We mentioned about how was the drink to the waitress who didn't care at all. She had an attitude which made me and my friend leave the place and go somewhere else to enjoy. The place was very empty and quiet and still service unfriendly after we mentioned that the drink didn't look or taste like Paloma. I was at this place many times years ago and used to enjoy. I come here to grab food before my 8 hour shift every Sunday and the food is great, but the service wasn't for me. I don't like saying people are racist but they are towards me everytime I go. I stand there for at least 15 mins every time I go to pick up my food (that is always scheduled in advance) because not a single employee will greet me or even ask if I need help. I have to stop someone in their tracks just to get my order, then they always give me a rude look. I scheduled an order today 40 mins in advance just for me to get there, and after 15 mins of standing there and watching them service other customers of their same ethnic background right in front of me, they tell me to wait another 20 mins. I left and called back 20 mins later to ask if my order was ready and the lady on the phone rudely tells me she doesn't know and that they're backed up. She didn't even try to check or seem to be apologetic, then she just hangs up on me while I was trying to say something else. read more

Another great experience here. The burger, fries, and beer were consistent with last time. All fresh and very well-prepared. New kegs, very good. Service is good. A band was preparing to play music on the Friday night we visited. Hubby got the burger and crab cake quesadillas which he rated a 7/10. I would go back and get that burger and fries! The only thing I wonder about is if my portion of fries got smaller. Not sure. But I wish I had gotten a bigger portion because they are very good! read more

One of the worst experiences I have encountered at a restaurant. You can't make this stuff up. 3 of us went to dinner there last night. The waitress took our order, then 5 minutes later another waitress came by and told us the first waitress did not speak English so we needed to order again. We ordered 2 salads and a 1/2 rack of ribs. After 25-30 minutes the salads came out and the waitress told us they were out of ribs. We asked why they waited so long to tell us. No response, no manager, no apology. We will never go back. read more

Drunks falling down in the street. There has never really been a good restaurant in this location over the years, probably because it's so small. Carmine's has better food and live music, so does Pete's Saloon. Pass on this one. My first time trying this place and I'm glad I did. First of all, it looks amazing! Plenty of outdoor seating and a nice indoor atmosphere as well. The inside was very airy and very clean - which is important now more than ever. My girlfriend and I was amazed by all the menu options and we started with drinks. I had a moscow mule, she had the frozen margarita (passionfruit). We enjoyed both - I was told they use to have happy hour but I don't believe they do now due to covid. We ordered wings as it was suggested before I came. So you have the option of ordering 10 or 20. We thought with 20 we could split two types of sauces but you can't (downer). We ended up placing an order of 10 garlic parm and 10 cilantro lime as well as white truffle tostones. The garlic parm wings were delicious! The cilantro lime were ok but I have to say I didn't like the tostones. It was cold and even after asking it to be heated up it came back the same way. I am definitely planning to go back and try some of their other menu options. read more

My first visit to this establishment and I couldn't be happier. Ordered their hangover burger, which came with bacon, egg, cheese on a brioche bum that had this amazing chipotle mayo. I like to eat and I do, and this was the best chipotle Mayo that I had. Which I turn made this the best hangover burger I've eaten to date. read more

Don't waste your time- I walked out after waiting over 10 minutes without a server asking if my wife or I wanted a drink. Another group walked in minutes after us and got served before we did (magically). You would definitely have better service at Pete's Saloon or Demeter's. read more

I stop by this place every few months on the way home from Mass to NJ. Always loved the generous pours of liquor and the chicken sandwich with bacon and on garlic bread. Fantastic. Stopped even if the traffic wasn't stopped to the bridge. Visited yesterday and was disappointed with the recent changes. They renovated and expanded and the place shows great! Seemingly, to fund the renovations (which didn't include the rest rooms) the pour on the liquor was cut in half as was the chicken, bread, and bacon on the chicken sandwich. The servers and service are great, but if the liquor and food is half of what it used to be, the upgraded space could be empty. read more

This place has done a complete remodel and it looks amazing!!!!!! Staff is super friendly and helpful, as they have always been. There is a ton more seating, inside and outside. There are also retractable windows that allow you to easily walk in and out. There's sanitizer on all tables. Everything is clean and nice. Definitely a plus for Elmsford/Greenburgh!!! This place is a perfect look for the summer. There's also plenty of parking in the lot and on the street. read more

Everything we ordered was great, but our waitress was MIA most of the time. Maybe they put her to work two places at one time. But we spent most of our time waiting on them. This is such a wonderful gem of a restaurant. We had reservations at a trendy restaurant across the street. After seating us, our server did not speak or look at us for 20 minutes so we left and walked across the street to Alex's. What a great decision. The waitresses were friendly and attentive. We ordered mango margaritas which were perfect for a Saturday night. Everything we ordered was great. The fish tacos were the best I have tasted in this area. My husband ordered Lomo Soltado which were also excellent. I can't say enough positive things about this restaurant - friendly ambience, great drinks, wonderful food! We will be back! read more

we had an unpleasant experience tonight. We come occasionally to Alex Lounge, the food is always good, the live music is awesome but the service from our waitress was horrible!!!! VANESA the server, was very rude. From the start she discriminated us for being Hispanic, which is very ironic because she is Hispanic herself. At first she approached us in Spanish, then pretended to not know Spanish when it came to ordering. We had a couple questions on some items on the menu, and she would give us very bland answers to rush us. She was asked what the lowest heat Buffalo sauce there was and instead of giving us a proper answer, she said, "the flavors are on the menu" with a nasty attitude. To top it all off, we asked secretly if she could bring over a cheesecake for the birthday girl at our table and she said we don't have cheesecake. Then we said that's okay what other slice of dessert would you recommend, then, she said the ones that are on the menu. Guess what ended up happening after I decided not to get dessert because her attitude. SHE BROUGHT OF A SLICE OF CHEESECAKE! After saying all of that, like really??? Finally, I wanted to say that the restaurant itself is not terrible. I've had good experiences in the past but today was not the same unfortunately. This area has been lacking a high quality, good food, great beer place for a while. Alex II is excellent for kids, don't let the lounge part of the name sway you it is a full service restaurant. A good kids menu plus a bowl of chips to keep them occupied before the food arrived. I had the chorizo burger which was outstanding, wife had the chipotle bowl which she declared so good with all the right ingredients. That's enough about the food. Alex II has a great draft and bottle menu for the beer lovers. This is the new go-to place for my family. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! read more

Went there on a Sunday afternoon and experiences very poor service and mistakes. First, it took over a half an hour for the server to bring us water when it was the first thing we asked for. next we asked for two mojitos and were brought a mojito and a margarita. both we good, just not what wanted so we didn't complain. when it came time for food. the server brought out each dish one at a time and 5-10 minutes apart, as opposed to waiting for it all to be ready and serving us all at once. We ordered a Jumbo chicken quesadilla and received on which had Chicken, pork and steak inside. One person ordered a burger and was served a chicken sandwich. I ordered Tacos Al Pastor and just received steak tacos which were good, bit not what i ordered. Had to ask more than once for water refills, and not once did the server ask " how we were doing" or "how the food is". It felt like they didnt want to do their job. Some of this would be excusable if it were busy. but we were the only table in the place. Over all, terrible service. too many mistakes to try and justify ever going back. read more

I am EXUBERANT over the wonderful time my family and I had yesterday at Alex's! We were celebrating my son's high school graduation, and even with having previously gone there only once for lunch)it's close to the Greenburgh movie theatre), there's always the worry, with being the person responsible for choosing where to go, that everything won't 'be okay'. The food is/was so so delicious! I had what I previously had, the 'strawberry arugula salad with grilled chicken'. My children (youngest 18, oldest 30) along with my sibs and spouses, each thoroughly enjoyed their food. Be it the vegetarian wrap, hamburgers, penne ala vodka, New England clam chowder and the infamous wings, everything was made to perfection and plated beautifully! A few family members were blown away by the large offering of draft and bottled beers. The margaritas, (I especially loved the mango),were delish! Prior to our party,Alejandro, the owner was so thoughtful and kind- in touch with me on the phone --. I must've asked him a dozen questions. He addressed all my concerns with patience. This was one of the nicest experiences! There was, in addition to the terrific wait staff, a great 'vibe' and an ability to converse with our party of 12 easily. So often there is too much noise in restaurants that it is difficult to hear above one's own voice. Not in the case of Alex's. We had a large group yesterday to celebrate my son's graduation. Had worked out a package deal with the owner, I was ok with the price given for 32 people which included 3 alcohol drinks per person. The way it was supposed work was that I was gonna be given tickets so whoever wanted a drink can give a ticket to the waitress and will get an alcohol drink. If my math is correct 32 people x 3 tickets = 96 tickets. Well the owner decided at the last minute to change what we had agreed on and only issue two tickets per person. I was given 62 tickets and at the end of the day they charged me over $530 extra for drinks. I did not complaint because I had my family there so I did not want that to ruin our celebration. I did not find the owners decision to be honest, we feel that he took advantage of us and will NEVER go there again. They lost a whole bunch of customers because of this.....that's for sure. The service was ok but it was tooooo much for a single person to handle so we were not impressed. Place was ok and the food was good. I will be disputing my credit car charges because again he broke our agreement. If you planning to celebrate something at this place please make sure you have all the details in writing otherwise they will take advantage of you too. read more

I'D like to preface this by saying we have dined at this establishment multiple times... originally just to try the drinks and ended up ordering food. Almost every time I would rate a 1 star...awkward enviornmemt, my food always tastes overly fried and greasy, watery, poor quality drinks... couldn't even get a margarita right and it's a Mexican restaurant. I honestly left 99% of my plate un-eaten tonight.
