Went here Friday after work. It was busy. A mix of young people at the bar and families at the tables. The food came quickly. The pretzel was very good. Not too salty which was perfect. I really enjoyed eating here. We decided to share two entrées, the short rib taco entrée and the fish tacos. The fish was crispy and delicious. Loved it. ...BUT the best and most surprising thing was the short rib taco. Instead of using a flour tortilla, they used a melted cheese that was laced and held up as the taco shell! it was amazing and the short ribs were tender and delicious, as well. Loved the pickled red onion and the slaw on both. Waitress was great, really efficient and super nice and friendly. Overall, a wonderful experience. We will be back soon! read more

Came here for appetizers and drinks on a late Saturday afternoon. We ordered a bunch of small bites to share. The food was really good! I'm usually not a huge fan of buffalo sauce, but the buffalo cauliflower bites and the buffalo wontons were really yummy. The restaurant wasn't that busy for a Saturday. There were a few people sitting at the bar and maybe three or four other occupied tables. The waitress kept checking in on us which was great, but she seemed to be annoyed that we were there for a while. We continued ordering drinks and food while we were there, but she just didn't seem to be in a good mood. Overall the food and drinks are good. This place is definitely worth a try! read more

A nice place to meet. The food is good and they have a wide variety of beer on tap. They have a nice selection of nightly dinner specials. Pricing is okay, a little expensive based on the location and atmosphere. Service was excellent. Our server Eddie D. did a great job. Orders were filled quickly and all the food was well portioned. The fish and chips along with the fish tacos were great. Burgers were cooked to perfection. They have outside seating during the warm months and what looks like a beer garden in the parking lot. I'm sure when everyone is able to be outside this place rocks! Not sure why but the bill indicates that a surcharge "may" be added to the transaction if you use a credit card. Since my review was deleted... here we go again. I had a Bridal Shower here about one week ago. I have been coming to the Barley House since they opened in 2015 and continue to come back because the private room and restaurant is amazing until 1 had my last party here. I will NOT be coming back after this. I am not the type of person to even leave reviews, but the way the manager handled my party was UNACCEPTABLE and his behavior was INAPPROPRIATE and this is warning to anyone who is looking to have a party here. I went out of my way to meet with the manager one week before my party to discuss food and drink menu. I was not doing an open bar at my event because a lot of guests didn't drink alcohol. We had discussed a bar tab up to $200 and a specific drink menu that was included in my party package. The day of the party, the manager DID NOT check-in with me ONCE to keep me in the loop with the bar tab. He let it get to $600. Not to mention, he didn't tell his wait staff about the drink menu we discussed so my guests were ordering any drinks. The tables that the guests were sitting at didn't have table clothes, but all other tables had table cloths? I didn't realize I needed to mention that I wanted table cloths on every table? Figured that would be common sense. The food was good, I thought it was odd they couldn't have included bread at least with our salad appetizer? At the end of the party, the manager came up to me in FRONT OF THE GUESTS asking how I am paying, instead of pulling me out of the room. When I brought up all the drinks being order that weren't discussed, he argued with me, then took it off the bill. Leaving the bill to still be almost $200 over from what we discussed. He mentioned that he would've capped it, but never did. The waitstaff was great, anything I said to them they were on top of it. If only the manager did his part, everything could've ran smoothly. He then was RUDE to my guests when they were trying to tell him that there was no toliet paper in the bathroom. Do yourself a favor, take your money and go somewhere else, not worth the stress or your time unless you want to be the manager and run the party yourself. read more

I got the fried chicken sandwich and substituted the french fries for the potato chips. The sandwich was tasty but the chicken was a bit on the thin side. They pre-salt their fries so don't make the mistake of salting them yourself before tasting them. I did & it turned them into salt bombs! Also, they could have been hotter. I've been here several times. It's a good place to bring kids so it's our default for a quick bite at a sit down restaurant. They took pretty good precautions during this CoVid thing which is a plus. They have good burgers and sandwiches, good appetizers (the chili is excellent), and a great beer selection. My only dislike this visit was the well drink. My wife ordered the sangria... which needs a bit of work. It tasted like wine mixed with cranberry juice and a couple of berries thrown in. There was no hint of sweetener or brandy. you walk thru thr doors to a beautiful bar which is home to 30 plus taps! The beer menu is well organized from crisp and bright all the way down to fruity and spicy. The bar has 8 tvs surrounding making it optimal place for football season. Plenty of seats around the bar make it great place to make new friends. For an appitizer we ordered the pretzel. Oh my god. A pretzel is literly the size of your head. Crispy on the outside wiyh a tender soft buttery middle, with a little complement of salt thats enough to hit the pallet but not overwhelming. Accompanied by a warm beer cheese sauce adds a level of intensity of tangyness and flavor, plus its served hot! French fry sampler....where has thia been all my life. a selection of french fries, sweet potato fries, waffle fries and onion rings. Alll the french fries were served nice and crispy. The onion rings are deep fried in a funnel cake like batter, all that was misaing was the powdered sugar! With the sampler you get 3 dipping sauces, a chipotle mayo, horseradish cream sauce and a spiced honey. each one was very unique with its own balancd of flavor ans intensity. the buffalo wontons are deep fried wonton shells stuffed with roasted chicken. personally i like spice and think they could have used a little more but my fiance said they were perfect. Philly cheese eggrolls filled with flavor, the outer shell was fried to crisy prefection, but the inside was to mushy. the thai chili sauce has a great kick and is definitely a crowd pleaser!! overall a great place to visit. Ok, so I went here last night for a little chill-sesh with some of my girlfriend's friends and from the look of the place online I thought hm, this should be a good time... cool bar, comfort food, nice decor.. I should have a good time. Well, needless to say from the stars I was pretty disappointed. For one, the food was just ok. It takes allot more than servicing your fries in a cast iron basket for me to be impressed. The burgers were dry and tasteless and my girlfriend's Mac and cheese was doused in so many breadcrumbs that it almost looked like a pie (I don't know who started this whole bread crumbs on Mac and cheese thing but God do I hate you). The service was pretty slow but I'll give it a pass on the basis that there are allot of customers. I know the business, I've lived it on all ends... waiters and bus staff normally work extremely hard and it would take a really bad experience for me to discourage their jobs. However, what really pissed me off was their choice of "entertainment" for the night. Some stocky dude playing electric acoustic guitar with his twist on classic Bar songs.... Ugh! What a "freshman college bar" move on their part. Word to the wise from a musician: Acoustic electric guitars tend to make ALLOT of noice when strummed hard, pal. Turn. Down. The amp. The music was so obnoxiously loud.. so much so that I couldn't hear my friends who were literally a FOOT away from me. Not fun. If there's one thing I know more of than restaurants it's music and that was not only painful to hear (oh yeah.. we all are dying to hear your incredibly loud acoustic version of Living On a Prayer... encore! -__-) but it was also very tacky. I've been here multiple times and have always have great drinks, food, and service. However, when they first opened I hated the turkey burger and never ordered it again. But there has clearly been a ton of improvement. The bar atmosphere at night can get pretty crowded but the selection of beers on tap is great for any craft beer fan. I would also suggest the white peach sangria. The food is also great. So far my favorites have been the calamari and the fish tacos. The calamari comes with a grilled lemon that adds such an interesting flavor. The fish tacos are nice and spicy! There was one instance where we ordered the chicken panini and it was a bit cold, but not a huge deal. Everyone that works at the barley house is pleasant and helpful. They do seem a little low on waiting staff but, they look like they are stretched pretty thin. But we never experienced any problems! I'll be back for drinks and bar food! read more

I went back the next night and the bartender couldn't be bothered to switch one tv to the nfl network ( the iPad froze ?!? Come on man reboot it already) the Mets were on 6 other TVs .,, meh service. My wife and I were in the area for the Jack O'lantern Blaze. We stopped in for lunch before hand. I started with the Philly rolls and my wife had the butternut squash soup. They were GREAT. My new favorite spot for craft beer and great food. I just moved to the area and have been looking for a nice new spot to enjoy a good meal. Although the wings aren't up to par the rest of the food we have tried so far has been delicious. The trios Mac n cheese app was a great sample of the three flavors of Mac n cheese, my favorite​ being the truffle flavor. The salad I got for my main was great, I had the added shrimp that that was delicious. My husband has a steak sandwich which he enjoyed but mentioned the steak was a bit fatty. The fries that came with his meal were excellent. Their selection of beer is always changing and has a wide variety from hoppy IPA's to the more soft wheat beer and everything in-between. Service this last time was not the best but certainly not the worst. Waitress was very nice but I could tell they probably needed one more to be able to make every guest feel attended to. Wonderful outside seating and open doors in the nice weather make you feel outside even if seated inside. Private parking lot right in front. It's big but I will well you last time we came seemed like after 7 on a week day one person would leave and within minutes that spot was taken. ( I only noticed because we sat outside). I really enjoy the food and they have great beer. Normally I would give them a 5 star. However, tonight they had a toddler behind the bar helping pour beer and even Jameson for customers. While, people probably thought it was adorable, it was actually quite gross. They should never let a baby behind the bar and literally holding the spout of the Jameson bottle while the bartender helped her pour it into a customer's glass. She had her hands in the other customers glass before she was allowed to pour from the tap. So, absolutely, insanitary and not cool. Children are not supposed to be bar hands. I don't think I'll be able to go back. I wish I wasn't here tonight, because I used to rave about this place. Now, this will be what I think about when I think about the Barley House. Their was a time I was the most revered customer at The Barley House. They treated me as well as I tipped. When the tips were large I was the big man on campus. I stop giving large tips and I was soon forgotten and disrespected. The food is ok, but not worth the $20 I paid. I wish them well though. OK. I did not review after my first experience. I do not like giving bad reviews. My first time going I left saying I had no reason to ever go back... BUT family gathering brought me back. I'm glad I did come back. I will not order the meal I had the first time salad with salmon- horrible over cooked-- ALTHOUGH the waiter did see this and rectified the problem took away the burnt piece and brought me another fresh cooked piece (still overcooked- and VERY salty) so I was satisfied with the service the meal wasn't great. 2nd time I had the turkey tzatziki burger.. it was AMAZING!! Gonna try to keep this short & to the point. 1. Don't bother with the burgers. They're just slightly larger than a slider and NEVER cooked properly. You either get it rare or hockey-pucked because they have no idea how to cook it anywhere in between. 2. The giant pretzel is awesomely shareable, but they never give you enough of the cheddar/beer dipping sauce. And yes, we've asked for more. Several times. 3. All of the soups (onion-, butternut squash- & chicken-) are incredibly, unbearably SALTY. 4. Regular fries are super salty & soggy, and apparently are always served this way.
