Best Peruvian dessert it's a must try when your in the city. I learned about alfajores narciso 10 years ago. This cookie is shortbread filled with dulce de leche. This cookie is a must try you won't regret it. I will return soon for some more!

My friend Cynthia gave me (as a gift) the best alfajores in the Bay Area! They are the most original, smooth, moist and yummy alfajores I have ever had in my life. We ordered the mixed box of pride flags for our happy hour this month at the office and they were PERFECT!! As seen in all the reviews, these alfajores are incredible. Sooo delicious and soft! Everyone in the office was begging me to tell them where they were from lol. I also really, really appreciated all the different flags included in the pack. I am Peruvian so for my wedding I knew we had to find the best Peruvian alfajores in the Bay Area in order to impress my family from Lima. Alfajores Narciso won by far! Their alfajores are exactly the traditional Peruvian style, melt-in-your-mouth perfection. They hand delivered on the day of the wedding, beautifully packaged in bags of 3 as wedding favors. I ordered 210 traditional alfajores for my wedding (my dad's side is from Peru). Before ordering I taste tested alfajores from six different places, two from LA and four from SF. Narcisco was easily the best. Considering the quantify I ordered they were not cheap, but I got the quality I paid for. Would highly recommend if you want an authentic official dessert from Peru. read more

These were delicious! I ordered 150 as favors for a golden anniversary I hosted for my parents. As an homage to my parents cultural backgrounds (Peruvian and Filipina) Patricia made traditional dulce de leche AND ube. They were a hit! They were light, fresh and not overly sweet. Guests requested extra and gobbled them up. Communication with Patricia was easy. I mailed in full payment a couple weeks prior to the due date and picked it up at her work parking lot in The Mission. The alfajores were packaged and wrapped nicely, I put them in the fridge for 3 days and they held up perfectly. read more

Patricia catered a dessert bar for our wedding, and it was incredible! She included a number of different Peruvian specialties, and they were all delicious. Numerous guests commented on how much they loved the dessert spread and how memorable it was. Patricia was easy to work with, reasonably priced, and provided a sampler before we chose our final selections. Everything arrived on time and nicely presented. I have seen these cookies often at the produce market I go to on Mission St. I have been able to avoid them, until today!! I knew they would be good, but they way over performed!! Now, I know what I have been avoiding and will no longer do that. I think tomorrow can't come soon enough. Non-descript produce market on Mission at 25th across from Chase bank. Recently tried the dulce de leche with chocolate (very sweet), nutella with almonds, and dulce de leche cookies. They were all very good- visually appealing, light, crumbly, and were definitely fresh. If you've never had Peruvian alfajores- they're a better tasting version of a "sugar cookie" 5 stars - not because these were the best cookies I've ever had, but because Alfajores Narciso specializes in these and there is nothing that I can think of that would make these cookies better (except a glass of milk). read more

After living in Argentina, I fell in love with Alfajores. These cookies are delicious. Alfajores Narciso does a great job making traditional Argentine cookies. The group of 50 I bought them for was beyond happy. Literally everyone wanted to know where I got the cookies and everyone wanted 3 of 4. This is a great treat we are lucky to have here in SF as they are authentic and delicious. You don't have to go 10 hours south on an airplane to get authentic Argentine cookies . read more

I picked up these bad boys at the Treasure Island Flea Market this past weekend. I tasted a sample and was blown away by how delicious they were. The Dulce de Leche Alfajores were amazing. I had to go home with a bag. These cookies were so light they melted in my mouth. Looks like I'll have to find them again next month at the Treasure Island Flea Market to get my hands on another bag. read more

I searched everywhere for someone to make a special alfajor cake for my boyfriend's birthday. Patricia was the only one who agreed to this request, and it was the most delicious dessert ever! She was so accommodating and special made a 6 inch 3 layer alfajor cookie/cake which was beautiful and so delicious. I ordered a box of cookies as well which just melt in your mouth. I live in the east bay so I had them delivered from San Francisco by Uber- her cookies are that good it's worth paying for that delivery fee. These are the best alfajores I have ever had! Very fresh tasting, and they look really pretty and professional. I have tried 3 flavors of Patricia's alfajores and can't wait to try her other unique flavors like mango, ube and coconut. I am crazy about her Peruvian cookies. They melt in your mouth while gracing the tastebuds with intense flavor. All my friends went crazy for them too, but they only got my crumbs. This one is tough to share. I was so happy to find this place searching online for the best alfajores in the Bay Area. We placed our order for the Traditional Alfajores, as well as the Dark Chocolate dipped version. Both were absolutely delicious & some of the best alfajores I've ever eaten! The presentation was wonderful; the cookies were packed so nicely in a box and would be perfect for a special gift. We ordered the mini version of the cookies & were very happy we did that, since they were two-bite sized, perfect for a small indulgence with a cup of tea or coffee. read more

Try the most delicious alfajores (butter cookie sandwich) in this part of the world.The alfajores are made up of two butter cookies filled with dulce de leche. New flavors like ube, Nutella and almonds, mango, peanut butter dipped in chocolate, coconut and dulce de leche and dulce de leche dipped in chocolate have been recently added. New flavors are being created frequently using different flavors from various parts of the world. My original recipe is from Peru and handmade in San Francisco.

I'm always hunting for spots like this because I have a weakness for those over-the-top, Instagram-worthy desserts that look like diabetes in a dish. Like most places in this genre, A Buttercup is small, modern, and minimalist with limited seating. If you plan to go, aim for off-hours unless you enjoy waiting in line for sugar. The decor is cute and trendy, perfect for photos if that's part of your dessert ritual. As they say, "you eat with your eyes first," and when it comes to presentation, this place definitely gets an A+. The desserts look stunning and set high expectations. Unfortunately, that's where things started to crumble. It's like going to see your favorite artist live. You've watched the videos, memorized the songs, and paid for the experience. But instead of the electric performance you imagined, you get someone lip-syncing and barely connecting with the crowd. That was this place in dessert form. We ordered the Mango Bingsoo on our first visit, and when it arrived, we were surprised by how small the portion was. The guy next to us even looked over and said, "Whatever that is, I'm getting that next time." He shouldn't have. The Bingsoo looked great but was bland, and the "snow" was more chunky ice than soft shave. The Thai Tea Roti was also not what I expected. It came with Thai tea ice cream and sauce alongside a roti that was fried to a crunch. Interesting idea, just not the best execution. The sauce and ice cream needed a stronger Thai tea flavor to balance the crispy roti, and the flavors never quite came together. Overall, A Buttercup nails the aesthetics but misses the flavor. If you're here for the photos, you'll be happy. If you're here for the taste, you'll leave with a full camera roll and an unsatisfied sweet tooth.

The honeydew was so light and perfect- we had such a hard time deciding which flavor to get, but this nailed it for me. I'm a big fan of the personal sizes they offer. There's very few places to get shaved ice in the Bay in the first place, and many are meant to be shared with friends. This way, you can mix and match with your party and try different options!

I ordered the bucatini Amatriciana, and my boyfriend had the gnocchi with Gorgonzola cream sauce. Both dishes were outstanding. The bucatini was exactly how I like it--super thick, chewy, and cooked to a perfect al dente. But the real surprise was the gnocchi. The Gorgonzola cream sauce was hands down the best I've ever had. Gorgonzola can sometimes be a little too overpowering, but this sauce was incredibly creamy with the perfect balance of richness and flavor. We couldn't stop talking about it.

Our order was over $30 for the two desserts, which is PRICEY. Overall, I'd say I was underwhelmed and it wasn't worth the price. I should've asked the cashier what the chocolate entremet was before ordering it, because I assumed that it was a mini chocolate cake from looking at it. I was wrong because it actually was a hard chocolate exterior with caramel filling inside. While it looked pretty and tasted decent, the exterior was extremely tough to break (we broke one of our plastic spoons trying to do so). I'd skip on this because of the price and how difficult it was to eat--we only finished it because we paid so much for it. The strawberry cream cube was also different. It sort of reminded me of a croissant but had a different texture alongside a peppery aftertaste while being sweet pastry. While I liked the texture of it, I personally wasn't a fan of the sweet peppery flavor, but the others in my group liked it. We came on a Saturday afternoon and had to wait in a decent sized line to order our food. Even though the line looked long, it does move pretty quickly. Service was average. The store itself was very aesthetic and had some limited indoor seating. Overall, I'd say I left feeling a bit underwhelmed and I don't think I'd personally come back.

The pastries are all flaky and crispy, and you can tell they were crafted by a true craftsman. I think what makes Juniper so special is the selection of unique flavors they have. My favorite being their award-winning Cubano croissant, their black sesame kouign amann, and their choux pastries. I do want to call out how much I appreciate the amount of savory pastries they have since I don't always want a sweet treat the moment I wake up. To note, Juniper is typically busy, but I have never waited in line for more than 10 minutes, even on weekends. They also have a lot of tables for seating, but because of the flow of people, it might be difficult to find a spot. Stop by here if you're around the area! They are also a sister shop of Saint Frank, so you can get some coffee while you're here as well.

I discovered these cookies at Carmelita's Taqueria at UCSF Medical Center. My husband had a kidney transplant there last year so we have to come back for frequent check ups and I always get the cookies. They are seriously the BEST COOKIES I HAVE EVER HAD.
