A tiny cookie store that opens in the evening. I bought a GTG and got 4 cookies. Still warm. Big cookies. My preferred was the peanut butter. Chocolate chip was a bit sweet. Pre-order only. I guess no walk-ins.

The BEST cookies in sf! Was craving sweets and just ordered them on DoorDash -- They came perfectly wrapped, warm, and had the right amount of crispy vs. chewy! My husband and I loved the snickerdoodle, dark chocolate chip and rainbow confetti sugar. My picture does not do these justice, highly recommend!

Frequently excludes items paid for in UberEats delivery orders. I ordered cookies for my parents for their annual vacation in SF. My Dad loves the S'mores cookies and my Mom loves the lemon cookies. This is the 2nd or 3rd order where I've paid for multiple items and the bakery doesn't include them. Oh, but they took my money with no issue. Between Stirred and UberEats, there is no accountability for checking to ensure orders are packed correctly.

It was one of those nights where I wanted something sweet and had a cookie craving and saw Stirred, Not Shaken and boy was I pleasantly surprised how delicious these cookies were. They came in a box, each cookie individually wrapped. These were soft and chewy and they did not break or fall apart when you bite into them. *White chocolate chip *Oatmeal cookie *Bacon chocolate chip *S'mores *Chocolate chip cookie These cookies were quite large and each bite was tasty. Sweet but not overly sweet. The Oatmeal was one of the best I've had with a hint of cinnamon. The Bacon chocolate chip was sweet and the bacon gave it that nice salty flavor. These cookies were worth every calorie. Perfect to give as gifts and bring them to parties and of course to satisfy your sweet tooth!

Delicious chocolate walnut cookie! Buttery soft, not too sweet, dash of salt. 5 stars. Sun afternoon 2021-09-19

I'm a huge cookie fan, and I LOVE levain in NYC, but holy chocolate chips, these cookies are BOMB. Like just as good, maybe even better than, levain's chocolate chip cookies. I've tried a few different stirred not shaken cookies, and they're all so good! Treat yo self!

I am not a cookie person. My family members are not cookie people. In fact, we don't even really eat sweets or desserts. But these cookies are sinfully delicious... which is why my non-cookie family ordered approximately 20 cookies this week from "Stirred, Not Shaken." The cookies are large, chewy, and soft in the middle. There's a subtle variation of textures, and when you bite into the cookie you get a nice doughy, hearty bite. The cookie in the picture is ginger molasses. It's possibly my favorite cookie of all time. It's got a balanced sweetness with ginger that gives it a little something special (like a bit of kick, but it's not spicy... know what I mean?). I took a few bites before realizing I should write a review on Yelp -- but by then, the damage was done. My brother ordered Oatmeal Walnut and gave rave reviews. He is usually deadpan and avoids superlatives / high praise... but he shelled some out for these cookies. I don't know what's going on. tl;dr: fantastic cookies. highly recommend.

I'm always hunting for spots like this because I have a weakness for those over-the-top, Instagram-worthy desserts that look like diabetes in a dish. Like most places in this genre, A Buttercup is small, modern, and minimalist with limited seating. If you plan to go, aim for off-hours unless you enjoy waiting in line for sugar. The decor is cute and trendy, perfect for photos if that's part of your dessert ritual. As they say, "you eat with your eyes first," and when it comes to presentation, this place definitely gets an A+. The desserts look stunning and set high expectations. Unfortunately, that's where things started to crumble. It's like going to see your favorite artist live. You've watched the videos, memorized the songs, and paid for the experience. But instead of the electric performance you imagined, you get someone lip-syncing and barely connecting with the crowd. That was this place in dessert form. We ordered the Mango Bingsoo on our first visit, and when it arrived, we were surprised by how small the portion was. The guy next to us even looked over and said, "Whatever that is, I'm getting that next time." He shouldn't have. The Bingsoo looked great but was bland, and the "snow" was more chunky ice than soft shave. The Thai Tea Roti was also not what I expected. It came with Thai tea ice cream and sauce alongside a roti that was fried to a crunch. Interesting idea, just not the best execution. The sauce and ice cream needed a stronger Thai tea flavor to balance the crispy roti, and the flavors never quite came together. Overall, A Buttercup nails the aesthetics but misses the flavor. If you're here for the photos, you'll be happy. If you're here for the taste, you'll leave with a full camera roll and an unsatisfied sweet tooth.
