Used to pick up food at their warehouse location. Didn't realize they had moved to a permanent…read morelocation 10 months ago. For a store that's open less than a year, this cafe is worn out. Tables not cleaned and most uneven and wonky. Just one sad front of house employee working that I saw just getting through the orders that are self order. This place has zero ambiance. I went to the bathroom and toilet tissue was nearly out and there was no way to even get anyone's attention to attend to that. Employee just kept their head down working. Food- drinks were great. My favorite is the watermelon coconut jelly. We had the pork chop pineapple bun. This is still a good sandwich. Tastes like they used to make it. Juicy pork chop, sweet pineapple bun. The construction of the sandwich leaves much to be desired because all the wet veggie ingredients slide the entire sandwich. Once you start eating, you should not put this sandwich down or it will come apart. They should put the sandwich in a sleeve. We ordered the fried chicken bento box. This bento has changed a bit from their previous version. With the new paper packaging, there are less compartments for goodies. The fried chicken recipe is different as all the batter fell off the chicken and was just a mess. There was close to zero pickles greens. With the dish which I feel brings this kind of bento together. Conclusion is food is decent, ambiance sucks. Would order to go from here but any fried food from here will be a disaster after you get it home. Had high hopes as I loved the previous location's food. Now being able to "look behind the curtain" and see how everything is made, I kind of feel question the cleanliness of this place.

The place is clean and smells great from the waffles I think. Not too many milk tea options but the boba and drinks are good so I'll let it slide. The boba lowkey took a while to prepare on the day we came tho. I'm not upset since we weren't in a rush but I was a little surprised. I'm not upset tho and it's my first time here so I can't say that always happens. My friends and I are convinced they used ai for the mural tho lol

We were driving around looking for some grub and came across this little place in Rockville. It…read moreshares a building with a Spanish restaurant, and we were so torn on which one to choose! Eventually we chose El Metapan, a Salvadorean and Mexican place. When we walked in the music was BLARING. It was so loud that we could barely hear the waitress shout "table for two?". It was so odd because there was practically nobody in the place. I wanted to turn around and go nextdoor because I thought this was just going to be ridiculous. But we went inside, and I'm so glad we did! Don't come here expecting some sort of fancy gourmet experience. This place is just a local joint that serves some pretty good Central American cuisine. We ordered two bean and cheese pupusas which were delicious. I am not a pupusa afficionado so I have no idea if they were "authentic" or "the best ever" or whatever. They were just good. For entrees, I ordered the shrimp with tomato sauce and my husband ordered a dish with shredded beef and eggs (can't recall the name). They were both served with two heavy corn tortillas, which could have been a meal in themeselves. Each of our entrees were from the Salvadorean part of the menu. The menu also features some Mexican dishes like fajitas and quesadillas. There was one Honduran entree also. Each meal also came with a sauce that was like a bean puree, a small salad, and rice. It was all very good. The tomato sauce that my shrimp came with was SO good - it had a wonderful smoky flavor that was so yummy. All in all this place set up back a whopping $28 before tip (two pupusas at $1.50 each, two entress, and one soda). I would definitely recommend it to someone who wants a local, no frills restaurant with some yummy Central American fare. As long as you can handle the insanely loud music, that is. (This place may turn into a bar/nightclub in the evening. They had a projector and screen, and an area in the back of the restaurant that looked to be a stage with lights. I assume they have karaoke or bands on certain nights of the week.)

I also really like their Thai tea. Food comes out pretty quickly too. However, this place can get really busy and seating is somewhat limited since it is a smaller space. The tables are also close to one another but I don't mind it. During my recent visits though, I've noticed the portion sizes have gone down?? I usually order a small because I tend to get full fast lol and I felt like the bowl was smaller than before and there didn't seem to be much noodles or beef.

I had a sampler appetizer platter, Vietnamese Shaking Beef with steamed rice, and grilled jumbo shrimp and crispy fried egg roll with rice noodle. Anyway, the dining room is quite tiny, and free parking is limited. It is rather better to avoid busy time like lunch or dinner. The service is ok, waiting time was not too bad, food came quickly more than I thought. But the staffs seem less friendly than other Vietnamese Restaurant I have visited. Overall, if you would like to enjoy just a delicious food, this place is fine for you, but if you also want to get great atmosphere, this place might not yet.
