    Freebie dessert for Vets

In the many, many, many times that I have dropped in to a Mission BBQ ad hoc, it has never disappointed! And this one is a great example! Lots of free parking, loads of friendly staff (over a dozen of them when I dropped in for lunch), and the food is always great! I also love how they treat vets - on this visit, without me asking, they added a free dessert! Speaking of vets, the walls are as usual covered in patches, photos, and the stuff that makes vets and anyone else feel homey!

This is the brisket with fries. Don't get the lien. Its the fat that makes it good.

another awesome trip to Mission BBQ. I want to commend one of their cooks, Jose. Jose was preparing my food, but they forgot to write gluten-free. Jose immediately took off his gloves and remade it so it would not cross contaminate. Well done. I think tremendously of this gentleman.

Good vibes. The older gentleman that was servicing the dining area was very welcoming, friendly and attentive. You dont get service like that anymore. Would recommend this location. Food was great also but service was exceptional. Five stars all around. Will return!

Ayanna was amazing. I went to order my food and I'm glad she was the one helping me through the process because she was super helpful and very friendly. I told her it was my first time and she helped me pick the best things on their menu. At the end she also gave me a vulture so the next time I go i can get a free sandwich. She also gave me a drink of the house which was great. Now the food was pretty good. I got the brisket and the ribs with a side of Mac and cheese. The brisket was alright, some parts of it we incredibly salty and some didn't have any flavor but because they had a bunch of different BBQ sauces on each table for you to use it helped. The ribs were pretty good as well and so was the Mac and cheese. I will be coming here again though to try more of the things on their menu.

The food was good, sauces were great. The service tho was absolutely amazing. I enjoyed the ribs and the pulled pork. We got the brisket but it was a little dry for me. My favorite BBQ was the old bay one. It had the perfect little kick. Everyone there was so helpful, accommodating and just nice all around. I would come back just for the atmosphere itself

A few of us was recommended Mission BBQ since we wanted something different. This spot is located on Rockville Pike near other restaurants and has a private parking lot with lots of spaces. After looking over the menu which has plenty of options, we placed our order online which was fairly easy. GRILLED SHRIMP ($13.84) The size is just as i wished and grilled to perfection, this was sooooo good esp with the BBQ sauce. I'm glad they have seafood options instead of just meats. SALMON ($15) They give a decent size and it was cooked well, I just wished it was grilled like the shrimp. It have more baked that grilled in my opinion. If this had char marks with extra smoky flavor, it would be perfect for me plus with the BBQ sauce, chefs kiss. MAC N CHEESE ($3.39) Sadly, I was disappointed in the mac n cheese, it wasn't flavorful nor cheesy in how I expected. The presentation was beautiful but the taste didn't match expectations. Maybe using a different cheeses and/or sauce base and adding more seasoning might help. CORN ON THE COB & DRINK DEAL ($5.75) I haven't had corn in forever but this was good esp being grilled and buttery. I got 1/2 tea 1/2 lemonade and BABYYYYY this was perfect!!! This drink alone needed to be in a gallon container bc the way I wanted more was insane lol. CORNBREAD (FREE) It was a cute size, definitely perfect for the meal but if you can eat it all, you must have a big appetite because the food was beyond filing. I wish it came with butter and a honey drizzle. BBQ SAUCES (VARIETY) I love the sauces but my favorite is the HONEY HEAT, spicy with a touch of sweetness. I like how they give you as much as needed and perfect for finding what's fits your tastebuds. Customer Service was nice and accommodating especially after messing up part of our order. It was greatly appreciated for them to fix their mistake which is recognized. I wished they had better meal deals/pricing and some improvement on some sides/food. Overall, I'm glad to try this spot.

Mission BBQ catered an event at the National Mall on Memorial Day I attended. Everything came out fabulous and our veterans all came through with smiles and heartfelt gratitude.

This young fine worker Franco really helped me out and got me exactly what I needed! The food was good and he might have been a little slow but its the thought that counts!!! He was really thankful and greatful as well he also was really engaged with us.

Came for lunch today. I got the 2-item platter with two sides, as did my partner. Between the two of us, we got moist brisket, ribs and classic sausage. For sides, we got cole slaw, potato salad and baked beans. Each platter comes with a cornbread. Ok, so here goes. The sausage and ribs were delicious. The sides were delicious. The corn bread was delicious. And the moist brisket was . . . Brisket. It wasn't particularly moist and it tasted like what I would get if I bought a brisket at the grocery store and cooked it myself. It tasted like a piece of brisket. No smokiness, no sense of it being cooked for hours with any particular style or care. It's really disappointing. Like, I'm not getting that again. I watched as the kitchen sliced it and I could tell while watching that it was not particularly moist. The people working there were friendly and came by a couple of times to see how we were doing and to clear off the table when one of us was done. There are six sauces available and each is different, with varying degrees of spiciness and sweetness. Of the six, I preferred the Memphis Belle, Smoky Mountain and Tupelo Honey Heat. The sauces remind me of one other thing. To me (I lived 7 years in Texas outside of Houston), moist brisket should be outstanding on its own and shouldn't need sauce. But this brisket, being neither particularly moist (we both asked for moist) or unique, benefited from a liberal use of sauce. Unfortunately. I'd like to give the place a 3.5 because the brisket is so disappointing, but am rounding up for the friendly staff, the sausage and ribs were good, and the availability of 6 interesting and tasty bbq sauces.

The place has a nice retro feel. WWII photos on the wall. Rustic decor. Friendly service. I had the turkey. Moist, tender and an assortment of sauces to dress it up. My sides were cole slaw, and greens. Both were properly done. My wife had lean brisket. It was tender despite being less fatty. It had those charred ends that brought added depth to the meat. The same sauces as with the turkey, were useful adjuncts to the meat. Serious eats without the unnecessary frills. That works for me.

Service was great. All the workers were very helpful and friendly. I did not expect them to come around and offer samples of pulled pork. The food The meat here is great, crispy and melts in your mouth. My favorite sauce was the Bay-B-Q. One thing though is I wish they toasted the bread on the sandwiches and gave them a little crisp. It was like straight from the bag to the platter. The menu was reasonably priced except for the wings which were dry and too overpriced for me. The Ambiance Don't know where to begin. Amazing vibes here. From the pictures on the walls to the military style barrel trash can and metal platters very cool. Makes me more patriotic every time I walk in. I saw one lady working on her laptop here like at a coffee shop so I must not be the only one that likes it here. Best place to grub in wintergreen. Worth a visit.

    The fatty brisket.

Glenwood delivered that excellent dinner this week and it deserves all the stars I can muster up. I had the Ahi Tuna Salad. Delicious, fresh, crispy, and with some of the best sushi-grade tuna I have ever put in my mouth. It was a great entree salad and this is the 2nd time I have had it. You know what, there will definitely be a 3rd time too. But, the diva of this meal was definitely what my spouse got. The incredible, edible rotisserie chicken pot pie!!! OMG this dish was crazy good, so good that I wish I had made it. The crust was the best crust I have ever had in my entire life bar none. It was crisp, flavorful and a little bit doughy. Its taste was great all by itself. But let there be no doubt - the filling was top notch too. Creamy, luxurious with crisp, fresh vegetables and big hunks of rotisserie chicken. It was the BEST! Thank God my spouse shared some with me because it was life changing (ok maybe that's a bit dramatic but you get my drift). The service matched the food. Erika was our server. She was so bubbly, friendly, helpful, smart and hard working. Glenwood is not a haute cuisine restaurant but the service we got from Erika matched the best restaurant service anywhere. That woman can do anything anywhere. I would hire her in a minute. Glenwood is one of those places that has hit its stride and I'm damn glad that I stumbled upon it. I highly recommend - NO - I demand that you go to Glenwood immediately. You will not be disappointed.

Got the vegan black bean quesadilla and mixed berry muffin. At 99 cents each, the muffin is a great price. Loved it and will buy again. The quesadilla was made to go on a hot skillet. The tortilla was perfectly toasted and crispy. It was stuffed with vegan cheese, black beans, mushrooms, tomatoes and corn. The beans were seasoned well (chipotle) and the vegan cheese and veggies complemented perfectly. Back then the food quantity and the service were top notch-great service with a smile and good quantity portion size. Since then, everything has gone downhill and this place is hit or miss depending on who makes your food, not to mention that anything worth having or anything that is not a cheap item has been removed from the menu (ex: hearts of palm, and now even the popular jackfruit tacos!) Only the cheapest ingredients left behind such as beans, chickpeas, onions, cilantro so they can major profit more and more. The menu has become boring to everyone I know with no exciting new items but just the same old and taking away certain items that the customers love. (Other Moms locations I go to switch up their menus with yummy offerings that Ive never seen offered at this location) Their prices have also gone up quite a couple of times since before covid and on top of that their portion sizes have lessened by more than 50% and still they get stingy only at this location when scooping the scoops always shaking the spoon to lessen the portion of each scoop and still finding sneaky ways to raise the prices more or take away anything that might cost more. Ive also noticed they only hire Hispanics now which I don't care but they definitely do not give service with a smile and half the time they don't understand what you are asking for and get rude if you sub or ask for something that might require a change. I am Spanish so of course I understand the language and alot of times they talk bad or whisper to each other right in front of me when you are undecided or make changes to the menu items. In my opinion, a different manager is needed that values customer service as the current manager is rude and does not like when you ask for substitutions and very stingy as well with portion sizes. Back in the day if i wanted half a scoop of one topping and half of another on my tacos it was ok, not anymore. A lot of people who don't come here often rate good as a good lunch spot but when you come here consistency, you start to see the flaws and lack of service,

Nothing we ordered was bad, but nothing really stood out enough to make me want to come back.
