If you never wanted water delivered, then call Alhambra. I am creating a Yelp account to specifically rate this company. My experience with them has been AWFUL. We are a small fitness studio in San Francisco, so water is kind of important in that it is EXTREMELY important to have. Pardon my sarcasm. This company has missed deliveries, forgotten the amount to be delivered, deleted notes, and messed up on pretty much every aspect of the delivery process. Also, every time you call, it is at least a 15 minute process. I've had to call them over 20 times to get our order right in the past 6 months.... The minute we get an alternative water system worked out we will absolutely discontinue service. If management reads this, or if there even is any management, you guys need to do WAY better in order to keep taking money from people. In fact, it isn't really about the money, but rather the fact that when you expect water, you NEED WATER. Get it together folks. read more

Alhambra water delivery in San Francisco is a joke. We've been a commercial customer of Alhambra for over two years, yet because of a "delivery personnel shortage" problem, we've not received water for our law office for a MONTH! I've called three times to request our water be delivered and ask what's the problem. Twice I've been promised delivery "tomorrow" except tomorrow never comes. Today I called for the third time and was asked if I'd like to escalate my complaint from the district manager to the regional manager... "HELLO?!" Hell, yes, to the top! They said we'd get our water today, but I'm not holding my breath. Instead, I got the okay to cancel our account from my boss, and we will just bring in bottled cases of water from the store. DS Services (Alhambra's and many water services' distributor in SF), you're a joke. But no one's laughing at the punch line. I also hear from another of our attorneys who's done some digging that there's a class action lawsuit on behalf of the delivery drivers. Doesn't surprise me... withholding wages? Working them too many hours? Too bad they probably receive the bulk of the complaints from the customers, not the ones running the show as should be. And it's also too bad that DS Services seems to be the only water distributor for about ten different water companies. If I were the water companies (Alhambra, Crystal Geyser, Arrowhead, etc.), I'd be changing delivery services, ASAP, before customers cancel at the rate of 100%. P.S. Nope, nope, NOPE! Our office needed water cooler, so I came across water.com or Alhambra or whatever. Horrible customer service (or lack thereof). The disconnect between the delivery guys ( I feel bad for them) and the customer support (if you don't have to wait 15 minutes to get through on the phone) is so frustrating. Surprise, surprise, the sales rep was easy to take my money, but then they go MIA. I will follow the lead of previous Yelper and try Nestle PureLife. Fingers crossed. We finally gave u on them after three years. Too many missed deliveries. Even escalating up to management did not seem to help.

This does not reflect the Santa Rosa location. The review reflects the corporation. The inability to reach anyone on the phone is by far the worst experience. DMW, IRS, Comcast are a snap comparably. There is no intent to serve the customer. When attempting to contact them at 3 different phone numbers, not just once but numerous times, it rings and immediately goes to busy signal, using both landline and cell phone. When I finally reached Alhambra in Georgia, I had to select New customer to reach someone as previously the other selections simply put me on hold. I was then transferred to escalation and was put on hold for I don't know how long and finally gave up. My mission was and is to cancel the service. Not for the water, but for the stupidly of a disputed $39.44 charge that could have been resolved, and therefore they cancelled the service. With that, my home service will be cancelled with a larger bill each month than the disputed service I had in another location. I'll be going to another water delivery service not owned by Alhambra. Not surprised that after reading other Yelp reviews, 99% were One Stars. In only a few cases over the years have I given a one star. Recommend investigate another home delivery water service. People who lived in the Bay Area during the 1970s and 1980s will remember commercials featuring a smiling Alhambra water deliveryman, with a 5-gallon jug slung over his shoulder, striding up a walkway of a suburban home singing, "Me and Alhambra water makin' friends." Ernest Lasell died last year at age 86. Part of the Alhambra Water Company lore is that Loren Lasell passed on what could have been the family's ticket to untold riches. In the mid-1920s, The Coca-Cola Company asked him to become the Northern California distributor for its new beverage. But Alhambra Water already sold its own carbonated root beer, ginger ale and creme soda. So Loren Lasell turned down Coke. The Lasell family sold Alhambra Water to Foremost-McKesson in 1954, but they continued to run the hardware store on Alhambra Avenue for 31 years. Atlanta-based DS Waters of America now owns the Alhambra water brand and also produces the Sparkletts, Crystal Springs and Sierra Springs bottled waters. A spokesman would only say that the company sells "purified" water under the Alhambra name in Northern California. The source of the water is unclear. Jerry Cusick owns the 83-acre property off Alhambra Valley Road, which includes the still-active springs. On a recent visit, a stream of water trickled from a roadside spot. I probably should've listened to the other yelpers about Alhambra. I have called three days in a row for our initial delivery of the water dispenser and water bottles and each time a rep says the driver is en route but never shows up. How inconsiderate is it that they make us wait at home for our delivery and yet no one shows. I could've gone grocery shopping, gone out to eat, etc but nope, I'm still waiting for Alhambra. What a waste of time! I figured something was fishy when they don't offer a confirmation number, an email confirmation (even after I've asked for one and never got anything), nothing. I feel as though I just gave my checking account number to a crook. Oh and by the way, every time I've called, no matter what time of day, there is ALWAYS a high caller volume and the expected wait time is always about 20 mins. Until recently we have been happy with our service from Alhambra water. We rent a filter and a service rep is to replace the filter every 6 months. The last time we requested a filter replacement, no one showed up at the appointed time. When we requested a new appointment an email was sent telling us the next appointment would occur on the already past date. No one has responded to our emails detailing the situation except to resend the out-of-date appointment times. To top it off their invoice indicates that we received the service which we did not. Still no response. It seems that the offices are closed more than not. Customers, who are also facing challenges during Covid-19, are further inconvenienced by companies who do not fulfill their obligations. read more

But now I have discontinued my service and the bottles that they were suppost to pick up have been sitting in my front yard for months at this point. This water service is absolutely the worst company I ever dealt with. I've always had problems but none more than the past week. The delivery guy is supposed to drop my water off on Wednesdays and he was parked in front of my house eating. I thought nothing of it and assumed he was on lunch. He took off without delivering my water. I called customer service and was told he would come back the same day. Next day Thursday I called and they said its out for delivery and the route manager Jason would be emailed and call back at 5 if he doesn't show -- they close the phone lines promptly at 5. Friday I called again and was given the excuse that the warehouse ran out of water. What kind of stupid fucking excuse is that? Supposedly Jason was emailed and so was his manager and so on and someone would call me which never happened and neither did my delivery. Tuesday came by and I'm absolutely livid and I raise hell with customer service who is trying to keep me from getting to a manager by making me wait 30 minutes just so another CS rep can pick up and not know what's going on. Finally I get through and the delivery guy drops off 2 jugs of water however it is purified water and not spring water like I'm paying for. They said he'll be right back the same day to swap. Of course he didn't. Wednesday and Thursday come by and Jason told a CS rep that he will be here by end of Thursday and naturally my waters are sitting out still unswapped. I'm cancelling service now because of this ordeal. All of this over 2 lousy fucking jugs of water. Jason or whoever the route manager is, you suck at your job and you need to quit or find something else that is more your speed like salting fries at a burger joint. These guys have a monopoly on the water delivery in the Bay Area and therefore provide the worst level of service possible. It's like they're competing with Comcast to provide the worst service possible. I've used this service for nearly 2 years and not a single delivery was made when they said it was going to be made. I spoke to the delivery guy last year and he said they never follow the schedule that is set - they just deliver when they are "in the area" and that the schedule is set by some office in another location. So I made a deal with him. That driver gave me his # and schedule and things were fine for a few months. Then the driver changed and we're back to square one. Now I'm back to randomly getting a random number of bottles - sometimes 0, sometimes 3, sometimes 4, even though I pay for a plan for 4 bottles a month. The other side of this is that I now often end up with 12+ empty bottles because if you don't know the delivery date, how can they pick up the empties? Right now I'm sitting here with 10 empty bottles and the call center confirmed with me 3 times that they were coming to pick it up today. Of course no one showed up. Surprise surprise. Look, I really like the water and the concept of water delivery. Why else would I have stuck to this for 2 years? I just want to pay for the service Alhambra is offering. I don't get why it's so hard for Alhambra to deliver water when they say they will and charge me the price posted. Come on, this isn't some super complicated thing. I would love it if someone would start a water business that is reliable. If one exists that can handle a small business, please let me know. This is NOT it. Every month for the last 4 months they have skipped a delivery. When they do come, they leave the empty bottles most of the time. They have charged for deliveries not made. They do not care. I've called the supervisor directly and not gotten assistance. Of our 50 or so vendors, this is the worst, and it isn't even close. I keep waiting for Ashton Kutcher to jump out. I wish I had read these yelp reviews before using these people. 1. They never deliver on time. Never. 2. Since they never deliver on time, what do I do with my empty bottles? Leave them outside and upset my neighbors? Leave them to be kicked around the neighborhood? You tell me Alhambra, I'd be interested to know. 3. I called 'billing questions' - 1 minute wait time, the lady picked up in 30 seconds. When I wanted to cancel I was on the phone for 30 minutes until I gave up and cancelled through my credit card. 4. The trucks are nasty. They look 70's or 80's vintage and black soot often emanates from the pipes. Bay area air quality management take note please. Overall a horrid business I wish would just go away. I wish I had an alternative but we are still looking. I want to write that a delivery with a brand new driver arrived today! Darin is our driver. First time on our route. He was respectful & listened to all our concerns although he had NOT caused us any of them. He explained his old route was wiped out by the Santa Rosa fires & we will all be new but he would be providing his new route with regular service. He was so nice that we feel hopeful. I ordered water at the beginning of February. They promised delivery on Friday Feb. 26th, they didn't deliver anything, they didn't call. Right before they closed I called them and they said "The truck broke down"... so They promised delivery for the following Monday, they didn't show up again. So I called back, they promised delivery Tuesday... I called Tuesday morning and was told its on it way (sweeeeet finally!!)...Ha, kidding, I didn't believe them, so I called again at noon on Tuesday and was told that I was pushed to Wednesday, again with no phone call from them, nothing. I had to call them for this information. I canceled it at this point. The company is to large to care about customers anymore. They didn't even care that I canceled, they didn't ask why. Nothing. Wow. I wish I had read these reviews before ordering Alhambra. /rant on I ordered Alhambra a few months back. First delivery was scheduled for a Monday. No one showed up. Called, was on hold for about 30 minutes. Finally talked to someone, they said that someone would be out the next day. The next day, again, no one showed up. Called again, put on hold, again was told someone would be out the next day. Had spent two days at home waiting for delivery. The next day someone showed up. Yay! The driver was really nice, so that was a plus. Since then, they've missed several deliveries and we frequently ran out of water. However, they regularly charged my account despite the fact that they didn't deliver any water! For the last month and a half, they missed all their deliveries and we've had no water for 4 weeks. I called this morning, was on hold for 40 minutes, and when I talked to someone they assured me the driver was en route. But... no one showed up. I tried calling back, was on hold for over an hour then was hung up on (technical difficulties, try back later). I called back, was on hold for another 25 minutes and finally got someone. I typically wouldn't wait on hold for that long, but I was determined to cancel my service and there is no way to cancel it online. Once I finally got through, they said they weren't sure why the delivery never happened. Terrible, terrible experience. /rant off Update: I ended up canceling my service and going with Arrowhead. However, a few days ago, I got an invoice for the water that Alhambra never delivered. So I called them again and was on hold for 55 minutes. Once someone picked up, I asked them why I was being invoiced, and they said it was because I had to pay for the previous month of service. I asked them what, exactly, I was paying for since they didn't deliver anything. The woman I spoke to acknowledged that they didn't deliver anything. We have tried to get them to refill our water jugs since November 1st... yes, almost a month and a half ago. Every time we called they said they were coming, yet nobody came and all 13+ jugs have been sitting here empty. Two weeks ago we gave up and called to cancel, we were told they would pick everything up in 3 days. Well, they never showed up and as of today they continue to not show up. I have called their customer service line and all they tell me is they are unable to call the branch or speak to anyone at the branch. Then they say we are on the pickup list and other than a text message to the branch they cannot do anything else because they are a call center in Florida. Ruuuuuuun!!!!!!! Avoid this company at all costs! Despite the reviews here, and against better judgment, I signed up for new service because my wife desperately wanted water service and we've used Alhambra years ago (10+)--different location--with no issues. This is NOT the same company. Reaching somebody for new service (money out) us extremely easy, minutes tops. That's when the 'ease' ends. We had an initial delivery set up for 6/30/21 which didn't arrive. We weren't notified. A new delivery was unilaterally set up, from their end, for the next business day; again no water was delivered. My wife was able to speak with someone that time who unintelligibly stumbled through the reasons they couldn't make it the second time. They set up a third delivery, without notification, and unilaterally, that we once again had to 'discover' through our own efforts (no calls, no emails). I decided ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!! and I tried to call Customer Service to cancel our service. If we were brand new customers and it was already THIS BAD I didn't want to take the relationship further. I spent HOURs on hold (screenshots takes) to speak with no one (money out = fast, service in = no one's home), I tried to register an account on their site but was unable to do that because the "account number" they provided on the initial delivery notification (the first appointment they failed to keep or communicate about in any capacity) was unrecognized by their system. So I sent Customer Service a STERN email to cancel service (pretty much never even started) and we would not accept any deliveries or make any payments and to stop communications. I received a subsequent marketing blast from them on "why Primo water is superior, yadda yadda yadda..." and I sent them a second email firmly reminding them not to contact us and that our relationship is terminated prior to first delivery. Then we went on vacation...and returned to...you guessed it...a dispenser and 25 gallons of water on our front step! Again I tried all the 'fake channels' to contact someone to help, more hours on the phone to get this crap off my doorstep. I would have loved the same items in the days/weeks prior when they were supposed to be there, but trust is gone. I FINALLY had to pretend to be signing up for new service to reach a live person (three times) before someone connected me to a live person who could help. I am waiting for them to pick up their equipment and leave me alone. I got a nice earful about "what a good company they are." Clearly they are not. It will be a better world when they are out of business. I encourage everyone to shop elsewhere. There is a reason they are a one-star reviewed operation. And that is TOO GENEROUS!!! read more

I paid my last bill with this guy and scheduled a pickup date for my empties. They picked them up. HOWEVER they continue to bill me! PLUS, they never credited my account for the empties (4 bottles at $6 each)... EVEN THO they noted on my bill that they picked up the empties. I wish there was a negative star to give Alhamra delivery. I haven't received water in 7 months. Despite my continued calls to get delivery, there is no show, but I've been getting charged. Today I called to see what the hell is going on with my delivery, Dan at Alhambra checks my record and says: Dan Alhambra: "I see you haven't received water in seven months" Me: "No, you don't say." Dan Alhambra: "Since you just notice you haven't been getting water, it means you don't really need that much water, we don't want to overload you with water" Me: The issue isn't if I need water or not, I've been charged for the last seven months, but you have not delivered. I purchased water from you guys but you have not delivered." I have called, begging them, to deliver us water and they keep saying that there is no problem with our delivery, they are just not delivering. I'd give zero stars if it were an option. Do NOT go with Alhambra water. Every one star review on yelp is dead on. Their customer service center has nice employees who seemingly want to help but delivery is a nightmare. My cooler broke and I was promised that a new one would be delivered. They no showed on the first two scheduled dates. Then brought me a used broken cooler. When I called they acknowledged the wrong cooler was delivered and said they'd deliver a new one. They no showed two more dates then I got a call that they ran out of coolers on my scheduled date. However they left more water which I was charged for-even though I had no means of using it. After the 6th no show I cancelled service- only to be told I would not get credit for the full bottles they delivered. To top it off, they've no showed on both scheduled dates to pick up the bottles so I can't even get my bottle deposit back. When I called again (for the 30th time) I was told my account is closed and there are no more scheduled service dates. I've given up. Stay far far away from this company. No one show up on Monday, I called again on Tuesday and they said it is scheduled for today. No one showed up on Tuesday. I keep calling every business day for next two week and and same answer. How is this company still in business? Delivery dates are inconsistent or they miss scheduled deliveries all together. Call wait times are the longest I've ever experienced. We've had way too many days without water in our household and it's not cheap! After giving them three months to win me over, I finally called to cancel the service. Of course, I couldn't get through. I finally took all the empty bottles and the overpriced cooler, put it all out on my front door with a note attached for them to take it all away and cancel service. I'm a very reasonable and patient person. But this has been the worst service experience I've ever had. The only redeeming quality is that the water is good. But the service completely overshadows that. For anyone looking to order water, try Nestle. read more

My mobility is limited since I have a prosthetic on my left leg above the knee. Our Alhambra water comes from Santa Rosa. My review is for Chris, my Alhambra delivery man. Chris is not only timely and conscientious but he is a warm and caring young man. He not only brings the water up our steep driveway but he is always timely, courteous and pleasant. We would NOT have water delivered by another person. I totally recommend and extol Chris for his work, attitude and dedication!! read more
