After getting my Ipad fixed, I ended up needing to get the screen on an iPhone fixed as well. (don't ask). Again, they managed to exceed my expectations. When I dropped it off on Saturday the guy asked if I needed it fixed right away...and I was like "well, what did you have in mind?". Turns out they were short staffed that day and the guy who normally did it wasn't there. he said it could be ready on Monday. That was fine with me. Monday was my "hope". From the sounds of things, they can sometimes do repairs same day. Again I was surprised by this place. In summary, simple glass repair on an iPhone, was a simple process at Alice. Good work. I live in Temple City so this was only a couple miles away from me. I have to say the service was great, super friendly people, and I dont know much about the prices because I am not a computer person but it seemed pretty reasonable. It only took maybe a day for the quoting price, then maybe 2 days for a full repair of the monitor of my laptop. Overall no complaints. I've have some repairs done at Alice's and bought a tablet and desktop computer there. The purchases were on "Black Friday" so the prices were good and there was no wait or sleeping outside! The outstanding thing about Alice Computerworks is their customer service. I've dealt with Stuart, who is knowledgeable, helpful and like having a friend in the business. I also believe that he is one of the owners. Even though I haven't spent a lot of money there, I am always treated like a million dollar customer. My daughter overflipped the cover (monitor part) of the laptop and apparently the trim piece was damaged. Called around and visited a few shops and no one wanted to help-- either my repair was too small or didn't wanna order the part. Drove by Alice one day and decided to let them check my laptop out. The rep took my laptop in and put a few screws back without charging me a penny. (Even tho there's no trim piece but the laptop was in normal working condition). Been going to this place for a year and a half now, and I have to say that they are great at what they do. First time I went here, I needed to battery replacement for my MacBook Pro, and I got a great deal on it. Went back later on to upgrade my sister's hard drive because it stopped working, have my cousin's laptop battery replaced, and upgraded my RAM. So thankful for these guys! I upgraded my 2008 MacBook to Maverick and it started running so slow I was ready to toss it, and buy a new one. In less than 15 minutes they diagnosed the problem (not enough memory and several applications opening upon startup), and now it runs at a pace suitable for my needs. I am once again not only thrilled with the technical expertise of this group but also with their ethical business practices. My entire LIFE was on my computer....business programs and bookkeeping, property info and records......and I was under the false impression that having an off site back up would protect me in the case of whatever problems might occur.......NOT SO! Let me just preface this review by saying i'm not a total noob when it comes to computers. The computer I brought in to them, I built myself. However, I just didn't have the time to fix it myself, so I figured why not give this business a shot seeing the how they have awesome reviews. I also really wanted to like this place because the guys here seemed pretty chill, but it was just a HORRIBLE experience overall. Suffice to say, my computer was giving me a intermittent crashing issue during normal and gaming use and they misdiagnosed the problem THREE freakin times. 1st time after they ran through a multitude of stress tests, they said it was my SSD gone bad, which was totally fine the morning that I brought it in, but I figured why not replace it? The guy on the phone said he was fairly confident that was the issue. Okay, I go out and spend $90 get a new SSD and replace myself. Still getting the crashing issues. 2nd time I bring it in, they essentially updated a few drivers, including the BIOS on my motherboard and told me to go try that. Okay, went home, and about an 1hr into gaming, my computer crashes. 3rd time I bring it in, they got back to me the day after, stating it was a video card issue. I asked them are they sure? They said positive, so I go out and drop $500 for a new video card. After a day of use without any crashing, I was like "hallelujah!!!", only for it to crash the next day randomly, during normal non-gaming use. So yea, I definitely feel defeated and stupid after this experience. read more

I was really disappoint with their service. I was their old customer for more than 5 years and I have been introducing a lot of friends to come here to fix the computer. but after they increase their company's size. They lost their service. When I send in my computer, they told me I have to wait 2 days to get result. However I already have told them what the problem was. They said they gonna use a "professional" way to fix the problem. After this experience I doubt they have any knowledge to fix computer. Here is the example to show why they do not know how to fix computer. My computer had blue screen and I told them it might be caused by ram. They keep my computer for 3 days and finally they told me the hardware from my computer are fine. They think it is my software's problem, and they want to charge me $100 to re-install my computer to fix the problem. However I have told them several times it's my ram's problem. They do not believe it. and finally they used my way to prove I was correct. It's my ram's problem not my software. In the end they charge me $30 for teaching them where my computer problem is. In the past I know they charge higher than the normal price, but I was welling to pay it because I like their service. Their price for ram for 4G is 70 bucks and you can buy a 8G from amazon for 90 bucks. After this time, I will never ever go there again. read more

My Mac book Air crashed just right after I finished all my paper works last week. At the moment, I wasn't sure whether I should sent it back to Apple because my warranty had already expired. Luckily, my brother recommended Alice Computerworks, where he used to go whenever he needs help with his computer. Andrew, my technician, is very kind and professional. I dropped off my laptop here. There is a 29$ diagnostic fee which was fine because they said they would waive it if you repair your laptop after the diagnostic. Then the repair came out to be about 260 dollars which i thought was really expensive. Then, when i asked if i could provide the parts myself to lessen the cost. They said they would raise the cost of labor which was 80$ to 120$ because they cant guarantee the parts i provide would take the same amount of time. So i cancelled my service then paid the diagnostic fee of 29$. Then when i left and picked up my laptop, The touch pad was out of place. I asked all my friends to see if it was weird and they all agreed. The touchpad now has problem clicking and being responsive. So i basically paid to have another problem. read more

Even though it has the obligatory computer parts for sale, this place is definitely for IT and computer repair. They deal with both Apple and PCs, speak fluently in English and Chinese. I've been here multiple times since they opened, so I've seen the growth of the store as more and more people hear about Alice. Their strong suits are definitely customer service and reasonable pricing. Your electronics will poop out over time, and they want you to keep coming back. I had a few problems when my laptop was 5yo, and at 7yo they firmly suggested I replace it but they would keep repairing it if I really was that attached. Not only did they NOT give me the runaround and try to cross sell me on other repairs (like Office Depot or other places), they took care of it in 1 hour! All other places told me 1 WEEK! Alice Computerworks is a small, personally run company that really focuses on service with knowledge and efficiency. I love their tightly chosen selection of merchandise and the fact that they handle both Apple and are Gold Dealer designated for Sony makes me think that the big corporations feel comfortable working with them as well. They are not a little fly by night storefront computer repair place. I am very selective about who I like to do business with and I would highly recommend this company (and Stewart's service) to anyone needing computer repair or advice. I have been doing business with Alice Computerworks since January of 2007. or the past five years, I have purchased many computers, PC, laptops, Macs from them and their servivce followup has always been impeccable! The person that gave them a 1 star probably was that one time where Alice didn't have enough people out in the field or something. They should give them another chance. So far, I would not go to any Office Depot, Staples or big outfits because you will never get the kind of personalized service as you would get from Alice. Not only have I had repairs, purchased done at Alice, but their senior technician Andrew Liu has taught me many tips (free of charge of course) and I have learned so much more than what I knew compared to a few years back. They do sell more high end stuff but can't say I blame them. They are not Fry's or Office Depot or even Best Buy. You really get what you pay for! I was having so much trouble with my PC being hacked 4 times in the last 12 months. This last one was a real problem. Dell wanted me to send my computer in and for $245.00 and two weeks later, I'd get it back fixed. I also belong to an on-line service which has always been able to get me up and running in the past...not this time. I was just going to buy another computer, rather then sink another $250.00 into this one and keep my fingers crossed. But, alas, I remember this computer store front around the corner from my house, so gave them a call. Jude asked me to bring it over. After he checked it out, and took it to the back, he came back with a quote of $120.00...maybe $145 depending. I left feeling confident and all would go well. This was a Friday and he said it would be ready on Monday...maybe Saturday. He called me about 4 hours later and said my computer was all fixed and the cost would be $80.00!!!!
