Super friendly. Super cute and homey feel as you walk in. It's decorated in lumberjack photos and equipment which represents local history. The menu had lots to choose from including a small portion's menu for folks like who don't eat a whole lot. I didn't order from there in the end and I got spruce clue with home fries instead of French fries since it was 9:30 am after all. lol. I just wasn't in the mood for breakfast. If you're on your way home from the beach and are looking for a good country breakfast this is THE spot. Our server Kim was absolutely wonderful, so kind and friendly. Even let us know which bathroom would be the warmest! The food is AMAZING. We got eggs Benedict, Huevos Rancheros, and two short stacks. Pancakes were perfect and fluffy. They didn't skimp out on the butter either!! The Eggs Benedict was better than even some fancier restaurants we've been to! The hollandaise sauce was perfectly seasoned and creamy, all of our eggs were perfectly cooked. The Huevos Rancheros was also perfectly seasoned!! The perfect amount of cheese, beans, and egg. I highly recommend getting over-easy eggs instead of the scrambled. Mine came with a side of sourdough toast. Which I had with some of their INCREDIBLE homemade raspberry jam!! Ate lunch here on the way to a Jeep event about a half mile away. Lunch was quite tasty and very reasonable. Service was great. Sat outside on the deck with our dog. Welcoming country cafe, great for heading back into town from a weekend at the coast for some breakfast. Portions are quite generous, unique artifacts and antique outdoorsy gear/tools/calendars/pictures hung throughout. Shows you there's a lot of history behind this cafe. Service was decent and they were mostly full the entire time we were there, so that shows this place must be pretty good! When we sat down we were "warned" there were two tables of 6 and 10 ahead of my hubs and I. (No "Hi how are you" or "welcome" which should have been our first clue as to how this was going to go. We ordered two omelette and asked if we could get a side of oysters. "Only if you order it as part of the egg breakfast." So, a whole other breakfast? Hmm. We passed. We had coffee and spent the next hour chatting and getting up to request coffee refills. After an hour wait we asked how much longer and were told there were still two more tables ahead of us. Hmm? Sounded like another hour wait. Long story short, can't tell you how the food is since we didn't have two hours+ to wait. The bread pudding we got togo looks good, the Marionberry pie is pretty small and soupy. Glad we didn't order the whole thing for $28. The hash browns were flavorless, not very crispy and should have been cooked more as seemed a little raw still. Eggs also flavorless, cooked ok, a little too on the runny side. Sausage had good flavor. Jam for the toast was yummy. This place is OLD, building seems run down and worn and on the dingy side. Filled with antiques but not like a quaint store, more just old stuff. It's spacious on the inside. Service was welcoming. Our order was taken & food delivered quickly. We wanted try a couple of our breakfast favorites - Biscuits & Gravy & Eggs Benedict. It was a different take on the Eggs Benedict- ham slab as opposed to Canadian Bacon. The hollandaise sauce had a taste that couldn't put my finger on but it was distinctive. The Home fries weren't what I was expecting but an interesting take nonetheless. Biscuits & Gravy (aka Brian Breakfast Special) was as expected but the biscuits were soft & sausage links were yummy. We ordered a side of bacon - pepper bacon - that was cooked perfectly. And a cinnamon roll (no raisins) for the road. Not the best day for two of us to wear Ducks gear, but college rivalry aside, they still served us with a smile. This roadside diner on the outskirts of Tillamook has been a family favorite for a couple years. Nothing fancy, but the local vibe and better than average diner fare make it stand out. When you walk in the door, there is a small cafe with a few bar stools and tables to the right, and more traditional restaurant seating to the left. Head east young man! Over the dairyland and through the woods to Alice's house we go. What a great day. Southeast of downtown Tillamook, you venture through the grassy dairylands, into the mountains. Hence not greasy either. I was disappointed, not over the fact they weren't greasy, but because they just weren't that good. I would try country fries next time. However, the wheat toast was great tasting and generously pre-buttered. I like that. It came with a cup of good raspberry jam. IMHO, the brightest star was the bacon. And by the way, little roadhouses like this feature homemade pies and pastries. We saw a little case that looked mighty tempting. We stopped for dinner on a Wednesday, service and food was plenty and good (4 stars for wednesday). We stopped for breakfast on Friday at 7am, 4 of us, we were the only ones there. Only one of had coffee. After we got our food we did not see the waitress again. She was back visiting with the cook. Wanting more coffee, my hubby went up to the counter and waited...waited...waited and still waited. Said a quick, "hello?" nothing. He went behind the counter and filled his cup. The cook (she)came out from the kitchen and being very rude shouted, "IF YOU WANT MORE COFFEE YELL FOR THE WAITRESS!!! DO NOT COME BEHIND THE COUNTER!!" then turned around and went back into the kitchen. We were the only ones there and only 1 cup of coffee to keep filled up..... Our breakfast was meh, hash and hash browns almost to the burnt stage! Dinner on the other hand was great and so was the chef. We will go back for dinner but not for breakfast. This place is about as solid as it gets...especially given the shortage of great restaurants in Tillamook. I would imagine this place gets skipped over because it isn't in Tillamook or Portland and therefore not a destination spot, but if you choose to eat here on your way out of town or before you get there, you're likely to have a better experience! I've eaten here several times through the years and it's mostly locals and never packed. The salad bar is sad, but the menu is no frills, down home comfort...a couple of challenge style burgers including the monstrous, meaty Louisiana burger which will put you down and a rather large selection of everything else. Great specials and huge, albeit spendy, slices of incredible 'worth every penny' pie (seriously...1 slice will feed 2)! On my last adventure through, we were with a group of 25 people (cub scouts...So lots of boys)...you can only imagine the response we received with such a large group on a quiet Sunday afternoon just before shift change...however, once the shock wore off, we received phenomenal service. I chose this place because of the large seating space while anticipating slow service...however, what we received was quick, courteous and spot on accurate. Michelle was our server...however, it was all hands on deck taking care of our group. And as always, the food was delicious...not a complaint among our entire group, which is rare with so many kids! You know how you're driving out to the coast and pass those little diners and general stores and wonder what they're like but you always drive past but you think, "i really should try one of these places sometime." Alice's is one of those places and you should give it a try. Food is fairly typical diner food. Nothing fancy buts lots of burgers and various sandwiches plus deserts. Family run, staff are very friendly and the photos on the wall show that this is a local gathering place. Coffee must have been more than OK because the wife drank it, and she won't unless it's better than OK. Summary: good road food, good atmosphere. Another bonus: no AT&T coverage, so leave the iPhone in your pocket and talk to people ;-) read more

Went for an early dinner on our way into Rockaway. It's a great spot for diner food. My husband and I split the big 1/2 lb burger and our kids had grilled cheese and a kids burger. It's always delicious and the staff is super friendly. We wanted to get a chocolate cream pie but they had already sold out. Next time. Today was our second time here, after a camping weekend at the beach, we traded in the campfire and treated ourselves to a meal out on the way home. We loved the country ambience and eclectic decor. The server was friendly and efficient, but the food was just so-so. Husband liked the spicy Loisiana burger with hot sauce and sausage. I was craving chicken fried steak, but they stop serving breakfast at 2 PM, so settled for it as a sandwich...big mistake! The chicken fried steak looked more like a greasy hamburger patty with lettuce, tomatoes, onion and mayo. No gravy? I asked for some but was charged $2.25 for it, but wasn't told that till I got the bill. Husband enjoyed the strawberry rhubarb pie, wonderful flaky crust. Kids got Mac and cheese, but for $3.75 it's just a small bowl of Kraft Mac and cheese with no sides or drink. Overall, Tillamook has no good options besides Fat Dog Pizza, so if you're on the way home, you could do worse, but it could have been better. read more

Found this gem on the way to the coast! The owner is a Philadelphia native and you can definitely tell from the great food! I'm originally from New Jersey, home of the diner! And I can honestly say there's nothing here in Oregon that compares to an East Coast diner, until I found Alices!! The prices are reasonable the portions are large and the quality is fantastic! They even had a little salad bar and advertisement place mats, which is definitely a philly/jersey diner staple! The only problem is that it's not closer to Portland! This place has been here forever. The owners are elderly and I understand that they have been looking for a buyer for a few years. Who knows what the place will be like under new management. But for now.... This is a "must stop" restaurant for us when we are coming back from the coast. The food is good and their menu has a lot of variety. The prices are fair. The service can be a bit slow even when they are not busy. You won't leave here hungry! We have a dozen or so "favorite" restaurants. This is one of them. read more

The inside is a trip down memory lane of the Tillamook, Oregon area complete with old photos, a bear skin, antlers, and lots of antiques.
