I stopped into Alice's Restaurant for a solo breakfast after running morning errands. If you don't already know this place exists, it's easy to miss. The only reason I knew where to go was because I'd recently been here for a BBQ pop‑up in their parking lot. When I pulled in, the lot was completely full, but I managed to snag the last spot, which already told me something good was happening inside. The moment I walked in, the place gave classic homestyle diner vibes... small, cozy, and smelling like someone's grandma was in the back cooking with love. I was told to seat myself, and the staff checked in shortly after. The menu is huge, so it took me a minute to decide, but I went with a Denver omelette done "scramble style." No hesitation from the kitchen, they made it exactly how I asked. It came with home fries and a short stack of pancakes. My food arrived hot and fresh in about 10-15 minutes. One look and I understood why the parking lot was packed. The scramble smelled amazing and had that comforting warmth you only get from a true home‑cooked breakfast. The pancakes were fluffy, hot, and honestly way better than I expected. Everything tasted fresh and satisfying, the kind of meal that makes you slow down and enjoy your morning. Chicken fried steak one of my favourite breakfast I was so disappointed this place was recommended I would not go back even to try the other food. I took a family of eight I spent clearly almost 150 with the tip even though food wasn't up to par the the servers very pleasant to talk to even the best boys food needs a little bit of help very hidden but very busy. I can't see why. Stopped by to this cute little dinner with husband for the first time and let me tell you the food was great! I had an enchilada plate and he had chicken stake and gravy! This restaurant is amazing. We are from out of town and so happy we found this place. The vibe....remember the show Cheers? Well this is the diner version. I was expecting Norm to walk through the door and take a seat next to us at the bar. Everyone is treated like family. Everything is made from scratch and it shows. Sorry I didn't take any pictures. I searched for biscuits and gravy on yelp and this place was number 1 in the listing. I decided to give it a try and am pleased that I did. The problem is I didn't order biscuits and gravy. I ordered the SOS instead. I had it over their potatoes. It was very good. This is going to be my new breakfast place. And after seeing the menu I'm going to try it for all my meals. This was my first time here but my boss is a regular here so it was really funny when our server Kayla asked him how many ice teas he wants (he loves his ice tea!) On my way home from SB Toyota service and wanted breakfast. Always looking for places that serve the traditional French toast on the thin white bread instead of the giant, thick Texas toast. Small café in a neighborhood street very clean cozy. The staff are very pleasant and helpful seated right away. Coffee was strong and hot. Just the way you'll like it with the flavored creamers. I noticed they had French toast. I asked the waitress if it's on the thin white bread and to my surprise, she said yes that's the only way we serve it! so I had to try it and it didn't disappoint. The place was pretty packed in a good way so we sat at the counter where all the action was. That was great. My husband and I have been going here for years! I really love this place. It is a smaller cozy spot that you get personal service. The servers have been working there longer than we have been going! Very sweet and very helpful. It can get a bit loud but that is because groups tend to go for the amazing food and stay for a period of time and chat... but the amazing place makes you feel that comfortable... then the food.... It's is so delicious! They have food on the healthier side and fried options also! Serving sizes are good, I never finish all my food they serve! I always take something home. I would definitely recommend this place! I don't think we have eaten dinner options yet even now that I think of it... it's always breakfast or lunch, but if you go try their Chicken N waffles!! The servers knew most people by name and most customers looked retired. The place is difficult to get to if you have never been before. This was a cute little restaurant my friends and I visited on our way back to San Diego from Lake Arrowhead. The staff were extremely sweet and accommodating for our large group of 14. They allowed us to all have separate checks too! I really loved the food - I got chicken fried steak and eggs, which also came with a choice of bread and potatoes. The chicken fried steak had good flavor, the eggs tasted great (no salt or pepper needed in my opinion), and the potatoes with bell peppers and onions had more flavor than I expected! For the bread i decided on biscuits and gravy- the biscuits were buttery and flaky, pretty good if you ask me! The only part that fell apart little short for me was the gravy - it tasted good but didn't have a strong enough flavor. Read some of the reviews and thought we'd give it a try. We got there and find this place busy with the local people eating and enjoying one another's company. The atmosphere was very welcoming and pleasant. We were greeted and seated when we walked in. The customer service was excellent! Treated us as if we were from the area. Now, about the food. OMG!
