If "your spot" had a personality, it would be Cheliz My husband and I came in for breakfast and, like always, it did NOT disappoint. We ordered the Cheliz omelette and the Greek omelette--both packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. I got the chile verde on the side (yes it's a little extra, but sooo worth it), plus toast instead of pancakes... while my husband went for their pancakes--and wow, they're seriously next level fluffy and delicious. What really makes Cheliz special though? The people. They remember your name, they make you feel at home, and the energy is always warm and welcoming. Daisy is the sweetest, Consuelo is amazing, and honestly every single waitress here goes above and beyond. We come here all the time and it never misses. Breakfast, lunch, even dinner--they've got everything from comfort classics to tacos and even sake options. If you haven't been yet... you're missing out. Cheliz is THAT place. I decided to grab a quick takeout breakfast from Cheliz on Easter morning. This spot is local to me, and I've been in a few times for lunch, so I figured breakfast would be a safe bet. It was busy since it was a holiday, but my order was hot and ready when I arrived about fifteen minutes after placing it. I ordered two omelettes, scrambled style, with toast. They were flavorful, cooked perfectly, and not dry at all. The pricing for breakfast was fair and felt right for a small diner‑style place. In the past, I've felt some of the lunch items ran a little high for what you'd expect from a spot like this, but it's not a dealbreaker and definitely won't keep me from coming back. I chose potatoes and biscuits and gravy as my sides and there was enough food to feed 2. The omelet was smothered in mild, savory green chili and tender pork. The eggs were fluffy. The potatoes, onions, and peppers were seasoned well and had a good, oily crust. *Biscuits and Gravy: impressively huge biscuit with white gravy. The gravy was deliciously peppery and salty. The biscuit was airy with good butter content. This was comparable to other biscuit specialty restaurants. Good breakfast spot with no frills but lots of love. This little hole in the wall is huge on service, friendliness and good food. We had the club sandwich, a sausage skillet and steak and eggs. All our food came out quick. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was fairly full but they still brought the food out quick.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The lady serving us was sweet, and kind. For as busy as they were she still came by to check on us. I've been here a few times and had decent experiences but the water has always tasted strange. Happy to report that today the water and tasted fine and I enjoyed my chorizo omelette. It was a portion size and had a nice little kick to it. I'm trying to eat Keto so the server suggested cottage cheese instead of potatoes. I mixed in some salsa which made it much more enjoyable. Waitress came right away with menus and took our drink order, Coffee and coke. Another waitress came right after and brought creamer, syrup, and asked us for our drink order. The staff here are very quick and efficient. We browse the menu and decided on ordering chilaquiles verdes with my eggs over easy. I added avocado and sour cream at an extra charge and swapped my beans for country potatoes. We also ordered the country fried steak skillet with sunny side up eggs. The country fried steak and egg sat on top of country potatoes and gravy. We swapped the toast for French toast at an extra charge. We went for breakfast with the whole family and I gotta say, it still is good. We went a long time ago before all the restaurants closed before Covid, but we went again and it's still really good. My kids and my nephews got the basic kids things like eggs, hashbrowns, etc. and it was good. But our dishes were good as well, and good quantity and quality for price. I ordered the BYO Omelet with spinach and cheese, but it came with no spinach! I think there was only one waitress in the restaurant, but she seemed quite efficient and courteous. I don't know how many Chef's/employees were preparing food but, the place was busy for just one waitress to handle! The food, with the exception of the missing spinach, was very good. Cheliz is one of our go-to places, close to home and offers a wide variety of menu options. Along with traditional breakfast items, you can also find Mexican dishes. The menu includes complete dinner choices as well. They are open for breakfast - which is their strong suit - and lunch, closing in the early afternoon. My wife and I eat here a couple of times a month because it's handy and consistent. We have caught them a couple of times struggling to keep up with orders, probably due to unexpected issues, but it created long wait times and problems with our order. This is not normal. Saturdays are busy, however we have never waited to be seated - even during those couple of times they were struggling. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Cheliz offers a friendly personal atmosphere with tidy tables and a homey "comfortable" tone.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Wait staff is friendly and efficient, speaking both English and Spanish. Ordering is done digitally table side via a wireless system. Very fast and efficient. I should mention that the couple of times they were backed up, the wireless system was down. I recently visited them for breakfast and as soon as I walked in, the ladies in the front greeted us and sat us. Everyone is so welcoming and even if one of the waitresses is not assigned to your table they still come and check on you. They have amazing customer service! The food was also so good! I went here for the first time today with friends who are frequent diners they absolutely love this restaurant. I ordered the senior breakfast combo with bacon and eggs and two pancakes. Had breakfast there this morning. The coffee cake was AMAZING, sadly the coffee was a bit watered down. I ordered the chilaquiles the sauce was tasty, the tortillas were perfectly crispy, the eggs over medium which were perfect! However disappointed they didn't serve the chilaquiles the traditional way (onions, sour cream and authentic crumble cheese) they melted cheddar I believe that's what it was on the tortillas. I did ask for sour cream and that made it somewhat better. My husband got a breakfast skillet, which he seemed to enjoy. Only 3 starts cause honestly their coffee was terrible.
