This place is the best spot to eat with the best service. Tables are always clean, the service is always friendly. My favorite is coco. Amazing service she always makes me feel like a gust in her home. The she Balthazaris amazing as well. Most day I go I just ask him to make whatever and he never disappoints. Do yourself a favor run don't walk.

Ok so hear me out. I've gone to all three locations and there all delicious. There chilaquiles are super tasty the green sauce with a little bits of chunky pork just goes well comes with beans as well. I like to add country potatoes. Tried there chile Verde fries as well and they were pretty delicious as well. French toast hit the spot . Service is always fast and friendly. The ladies are on top of everything. Place is small but nice. Definitely going back They also have lunch items but I've never tried those

Skillet with over mediums eggs with spicy salsa on the side. They knocked it out the park. Very delicious.

Skillet with over mediums eggs. 10/10. Great service and great food. The ambiance took me back to when this used to be yum yum. Come eat at This San Bernardino gem.

I went to Cheliz with my boyfriend and the service and food were both amazing! His chorizo skillet was hot and flavorful and my pancakes on my breakfast combo were nice and fluffy and topped with fresh fruit. Everything was delicious. We definitely recommend and plan on going again.

Stopped by for a breakfast burrito to go, staff was very friendly, did not have to wait too long. Breakfast burrito big enough you could share, don't forgot the salsa.

I got the breakfast combo and upgraded from half a waffle to a full waffle. It came with two sausage but I ate one before the pic

Great customer service and great food definitely will be returning. My grandmother wanted a shit again burrito, which was not on the menu, but they were very nice and made one for her. Inside felt very homey

I'm on the fence about this post! I seriously hope to upgrade to 5 stars in the near future. Cheliz is the latest restaurant to arrive in downtown San Bernardino. Located north on D street just past the post office. Location has been completely revamped and the parking lot is an easy pull in/pull out with two entrances. It's far enough on the edge of downtown to not be surrounded by homeless. When you enter, the space is bright with fresh paint and lots of windows providing light. There is a diner counter but also plenty of booths of various sizes along the walls. Staff was very welcoming and utilized new register/technology to take my order. Now my coworkers have been coming to this location almost since day 1 and I should have listened to them on what to order. The breakfast burrito was pretty amazing and can be modified to customer specifications with no problem. The size is not the biggest I've seen but also not the smallest. They have a choice of green, red, and habanero salsa to accompany the burrito as well. The biscuits and gravy are also a favorite and come in a full and a half order. They are delicious, filling, and really hit the spot. The chilaquiles though....if you've seen my reviews you know these are held at a high standard. I cannot endorse the chilaquiles here. It comes with large chunks of pork, but not the best quality pieces, in a green sauce. There were plenty of chips and I had over medium eggs on it but the dish sorely lacked flavor. I got house potatoes with mine and same thing - hardly any flavor. I think if they served it with both spicy beans and seasoned potatoes it would be much much better. The first thing

The service and food were great. We stumbled upon this place heading to the library. It was delicious I had the club sandwich and my boyfriend had their signature omelette. Definitely recommend

The only reason I knew where to go was because I'd recently been here for a BBQ pop‑up in their parking lot. When I pulled in, the lot was completely full, but I managed to snag the last spot, which already told me something good was happening inside. The moment I walked in, the place gave classic homestyle diner vibes... small, cozy, and smelling like someone's grandma was in the back cooking with love. I was told to seat myself, and the staff checked in shortly after. The menu is huge, so it took me a minute to decide, but I went with a Denver omelette done "scramble style." No hesitation from the kitchen, they made it exactly how I asked. It came with home fries and a short stack of pancakes. My food arrived hot and fresh in about 10-15 minutes. One look and I understood why the parking lot was packed. The scramble smelled amazing and had that comforting warmth you only get from a true home‑cooked breakfast. The pancakes were fluffy, hot, and honestly way better than I expected. Everything tasted fresh and satisfying, the kind of meal that makes you slow down and enjoy your morning. I couldn't finish it all, so I took the leftovers home, and even reheated the next day, it still tasted pretty good. Between the friendly staff, the generous portions, and the very fair pricing, I think I've found my new go‑to breakfast spot. I definitely enjoyed my meal.

And then when my husband and I went after that, the same thing happened again with menu items. We went on Saturday early afternoon for a late breakfast since it's been a while. It looked a little different from the last time we came, theres new seating and a large table in the middle but still has the same framed art and paintings on the walls and ceilings. There was one worker in the front (which seems to be typical) and I believe one in the back cooking. It didn't take long for her to seat us but when my husband started to order his coffee she informed him that they were running out of oat milk so what would he like if they don't have any. Luckily she did have oat milk and enough to make me one as well. They had the other menu items we ordered as well. She was friendly but very busy. She was doing everything. Cleaning tables, seating people, taking the orders, bringing out food, running the cash register and cleaning the restroom. My husbands breakfast burrito was really good. And I ordered the french toast- it was a little burnt on one of the breads (front and back) and I could taste it, but other than that it was good. We also got two lattes. The prices are not in the menu which is a little weird, but they were on the menu online if you scan the QR code. Not sure if the prices are correct as my husband didn't get the receipt so I'm not sure how much everything was individually but we spent 61.69$ (incliding a tip of 20%) I believe there is new owners so I will definitely come again and give them another shot, and support them. I'm not quite sure I would take another large party there until I have visited a few more times and know that they have menu items consistently. I do want to give feedback on the menus- it's a turn off to not have the prices readily available. Hopefully the menu will be updated soon.

Our order was taken within about five minutes of being seated, and the food came out impressively fast -- less than ten minutes. Everything we ordered was really good. One small tip: I'd recommend asking for the potato wedges well done and maybe a little lighter on the seasoning. My favorite dish was definitely the French toast -- it had a slight crunch on the outside while still being soft and fluffy inside, which made the texture perfect. The red chilaquiles were my second favorite. They had great flavor, and next time I'd probably add avocado to take them to the next level. Overall, this spot is definitely worth checking out for breakfast. Great service, quick turnaround, and really satisfying dishes. I'd happily come back again.

Our waitress was tentative and on point. She moved quick and was accurate. Today, I tried something new. I ordered the Carne Asada Torta and substituted my French fries for home fries (order them extra crispy). I prefer them extra crispy because they're a little under done for my liking the regular way they cook them. The accidentally added bell pepper and onion to them and the waitress let me know ahead of time. I told her it was ok because I actually like them like that. My torta was good. It's huge! Definitely a meal for 2 people. The bread was soft - it could've been toasted a bit more for me because it wasn't able to support the beans and meat and started falling apart. It comes with lettuce, tomato, avocado, beans, mayo, and cheese. The meat was flavorful and even had a nice char and the refried beans were nice and creamy. Even though it was good, it wasn't my favorite. No matter what you order, make sure and get their salsas. They have a green and red and I think it's best to mix them... The ambiance is full of life. There's music playing in the background but it's not too loud. Definitely a cool little spot to dine in.
