I mostly come to Sizzlers for the salad bar. Their salads are awesome and reminiscent of Soup Plantation/Sweet Tomatoes. In fact, they do a much better job of imitating the Joan's Madness broccoli salad than Soup N' Fresh, the new restaurant intentionally copying the Soup Plantation menu. Overall, I would say come for the salad bar and try out the salads if that is what you like to do. The variety isn't as large as Soup plantation, but what they have is almost on par or better in flavors than what Soup Plantation offered when it came to salads. I even like their pasta salads better than Soup Plantation. The things they don't do as well on is soup since they only have 3. Their best, in my opinion, is the menudo. It's not bad for the value of the food and you can get your fix if you don't know how to make menudo. Their cheesy bread is unhealthily delicious and their desserts are pretty good considering what you pay for everything. I honestly rather come to here than Soup N Fresh (to avoid the line) and Golden Corral (quality vs cost) if I'm looking for something a bit more healthy when eating out. I think the rest like the ribs and steak is somewhat mediocre and not as much to write home about. They are good for what they are, but it's one of those things where I wouldn't miss it, crave it, or look for it unless already in front of me. read more

We opted for the unlimited salad bar ($18.99), and in hindsight, it might be better to get an entree, add in the salad bar for $8 and then take your entree home while you focus on the salad bar for your meal! The salad bar has your usual soup and salad fare, plus a nice selection of hot taco bar items. The dessert selection is pretty good as well. Don't go here. I came here only out of nostalgia and was sorely disappointed. First off, the menu and "specials" online do not reflect what they are serving up. I already had in my mind what I was going to order before getting there. Not only was it not posted on their wall menu but they had no idea what I was talking about. Also, you can forget about getting the one "trip" salad bar. They are no longer doing this here. You have to pay an additional large fee on top of your meal to get the salad bar. I ended up getting their barbecue ribs in which were cold in the center. Not fresh at all. My soda was even watered down. And my cole slaw was served in a tiny condiment cup. The Unlimited Salad Bar was absolutely incredible--everything was crisp, fresh, and perfectly stocked. From the DIY taco station to the savory pastas and that legendary Cheese Toast, it was a total feast. I topped it all off with a perfect soft-serve sundae! What really made the experience, though, was the manager. He was fantastic--super attentive, welcoming, and clearly runs a great team. It's rare to see that level of hospitality these days, and he made us feel right at home. Great food, amazing value, and top-tier service. We'll definitely be back! It was slightly busy 6pm when we got in but we were started with 2 plates and 2 bowls for 3 salad bars, 1 being the main dish. We asked our "waiter" 3 times for extra plates and were brought 2. Only 1 refill on 2 drinks and waited for our kids refill. My steak was laughable, literally. It was long, 9x1.5. I have never gotten a cut like that anywhere, my husband and I literally laughed. I have fond childhood memories of Sizzler, because that's where my folks would take me when we "ate out". However, as I got older, I got disenchanted and stopped going for over a decade. My wife and I went on a whim and we are glad we did. The crew at this sizzle was outstanding. Even though we arrived a little past eight, on the last hour of the restaurant being open, the folks working there were still super welcoming and accommodating. The dining room while dated, was clean and well put together. They worked diligently in ensuring the restaurant was being cleaned, the salad bar stocked, and managed to do all this while still being attentive to the needs of the diners. What I was most impressed by, was when I ordered my steak medium-rare, they nailed it spot on seasoned fabulously. This was better than some "fine-dining" restaurants. I always catch grief when I say I love Sizzler as if it's some low class establishment, But I always have the best experience when I visit the Waterman location in San Bernardino, first off the restaurant is CLEAN the salad bar is very clean and always well stocked and turned over. The Guest service is exceptional and super friendly we always get the same servers and she is amazing I wish I remembered her name she and all of the bus staff and servers are great. I always order the Steak and all you can eat shrimp with a one trip salad bar. The steak is always cooked perfect the shrimps are plentiful. My only gripe is that I wish they still brought a basket of cheese toast instead of the single toast with the meal but that's just me being a fatty lol. The food is good as far as the salad bar goes; cold stuff is cold and hot stuff is hot. They have quinoa, which is great for meatless protein and fibre. My husband enjoys the desserts. My issues have always been with the steak-tough, and/or overdone with minimal seasoning. The lobster tails are not to write home about either. Three ounces means it was a young lobster and should have had more time to grow, unless they're just using crayfish. I will give kudos for the senior pricing and the servers are really sweet. Saw this on way through Redlands. Had not eaten here since I was much younger. About 20 years ago. I loved this place growing up as a kid. I got the sirloin with all you can eat shrimp and backed potato. It also came with their famous cheese toast. I will say some of the rating is due to nostalgia. It was just as I remembered. The steak was not a great cut and was overcooked but not bad. It was juicy. The shrimp was good and I liked that since it's all you can eat they load the plate up to start off. My only regret (eat your heart out Nathan Hale) is that I can't give zero stars for the obviously false advertising and the remarkable degree of non-repentance/smugness about it. Ever since the death of Souplantation (R.I.P.), no one has really filled in that niche for some reason. I decided to check out the Sizzler's salad bar lunch after I received advertising that they were doing $9.99 lunches. I checked that the local location was one of the participating locations. Once I arrived, the manager at the register simply told me that there was no deal and they would not be honoring any such deal. I'm not particularly annoyed that they don't have the deal - it's their own business decision whether to participate. But that also makes the false advertising even galling precisely because nobody is forcing them to participate in the deal, but they want to draw people in with such false advertising. The elderly couple behind me was also talking about a $9.99 salad bar lunch, and they seemed a bit confused by it as well, so there seemed to be some sort of decision to draw in people with a falsely advertised deal before trying to hoodwink them. When I actually managed to show him the advertisement (listing this specific location), the manager at the register smugly told me to call Sizzler's customer service if I wanted to complain, obviously knowing that as a franchise, Sizzler's doesn't really have a traditional customer service department (nor does it exercise such control over its local franchises). Anyways, I'm not a stickler about "service" at all (I think most complaints are petty and food service workers are often asked to do way too much for too little in payment), but I think this was rather unethical behavior by whoever was making business decisions - and it thus irritated me in a way restaurants almost never do. read more

I have to echo some of Kenny M's sentiments when it comes to Sizzlers. I have fond memories of them in general. When I was a kid from the early to mid 80s onward, Sizzler was the where the family would take us when we wanted to "go out to dinner" and they didn't want to break the bank. For a long time, I thought that Sizzler was the definition of a steakhouse. Of course, having grown up since then (and having become the foodie I now am), I've learned my lesson; and yes, a bit of the shine and polish has worn off the chain in general. But let's face it, for a long time, Sizzler was the steakhouse for the masses. This particular location is one of few left in the area, especially since the one in Redlands closed and became a Dennys recently. The chain has contracted quite a bit in recent years. This one is located on Waterman Ave near Hospitality Lane surrounded on many sides by hotels. I wouldn't doubt if said hotels provide many of their customers. Dominating the center of the dining area is, of course, the salad bar. Sizzler has become famous for these; and the San Bernardino one does not disappoint. Every time I've visited this location, their food at the salad bar was fresh and plentiful with lots of selections. They even have a "side bar" that has fried chicken wings (these are yummy!!) a mini taco/nacho bar, spaghetti with sauce and meatballs, and the last time we went (earlier tonight)..orange chicken (this was really yummy too actually). We've ordered other entrees from here in the past and were please with the quality. Yelpers note - I'm still addicted to their Malibu Chicken! One pleasant thing about this location is that the manager is always a friendly and helpful; and the waitresses are always smiling, pleasant and give excellent service. That's always encouraging to see at a, shall we say...non higher-end establishment. To be honest, the food is delicious but nothing super special. We've never had anything bad here. I brought my grandma to this location over the weekend and when my food was served there was a bug on the steak. I let the waitress know, but I don't think she understood what I was telling her. My grandma said I should send it back, but I highly doubt they would have remade it. They would have removed the bug and brought the same food back out. So I removed the bug, cut that section off, and ate the rest. Before we left I let the manager know. She was in the area where the servers pick up the food. She didn't even look at me and just said "Sorry." I wasn't asking for anything from her, I just wanted her to be aware of the situation. I feel the least she could have done was look at me and issue a genuine apology and an "I'll look into it." As I was walking out another service came over and offered to remake my food. I told her I had eaten it and we were on our way out, but felt they should be aware. She issued a genuine apology and we left. Salad bar was the reason we picked Sizzler today only to find its salad bar is temporarily closed. Prices on their menu have gone up like many other restaurants. They only had one order station open today so we waited to get our orders in. What we didn't expect is they will not let us take our tray of drinks that has to be brought to us by one of the servers. Food and service is what we expected of a typical Sizzler. Fried fish was coated with a thick layer of batter. I was hoping to get some vinegar for the fish but didn't get any. We were offered refill on drinks so it was not as total bust. I am happy to see Sizzler made it through the pandemic. read more

Have not been to this location in at least 10 years. Stopped in for a salad once we left Oak Glen. Salad bar was well-stocked and had ingredients that other Sizzlers do not have, such as pepperoncini's and chopped celery. I appreciate the variety. There was also a nice selection of chopped pineapple and watermelon and even some cherry jello. My salad was great, and everything tasted super fresh. I tried some cottage cheese and sliced peaches for my dessert, and it was all good. We barely saw our server. My only real complaint was that this location doesn't offer cheese toast with your salad bar purchase. It was also a little less expensive than the cost at the Corona Sizzler, our salads were $16.99 here, they charge $18.99 at Corona. All in all, (even without the cheese toast), we were highly satisfied with our meal. read more

After not coming here for about 8 years we decided to give it another shot. Steaks were good, and there was plenty of everything.... That being said, the waiters are very rude. We ordered meals and endless salad bar for our party of 17. My 35 yo son has digestive issues and had made his trip to the salad bar. He sat down to eat his plate and the food arrived. To avoid eating a cold meal he set his salad bar plate aside. We all finished eating, but he still was eating his meal. We were on a schedule so my son had asked for a box to take some of his salad plate and the rest of his meal. The waitress made the biggest deal like we were stealing food. She got the manager involved and he acted the same way and said they would only give a small box to take his meal but not his salad plate. We paid for it, it was his food and he is sick. The staff didn't see it that way. My son put part of his meal and some of the salad plate in the small box anyway and the staff went crazy like they were going to call the authorities. We left... This is the worst restaurant experience we have ever had. I could see if my son didn't pay for the endless salad bar and was trying to take food... we were a party of 17 and it was one box and his food was already at our table. We had a tournament and decided to eat here between games. The food was mediocre at best. This is one of the smallest sizzlers I've seen. For the price I would've expected a little more. I came here for steak shrimp, and my favorite "Malibu Chicken." I love to come here once in awhile to avoid long waits at other restaurants. Our waiter was "Randy" and he was amazing, refilled our drinks, brought out our food right away and was very friendly!
