We needed to do an extensive renovation to our home. A friend of mine recommended Osmin from Aligned construction. After meeting with Osmin a couple of times we decided that Aligned was the company to go with. We needed the kitchen and bathrooms redone as well as tile floors throughout. Plumbing and electrical needed to be worked on also. They did a great job on electrical. Adding LED lights, sconces and pendants. The plumber did great work. The tile setter was great as well. He installed 48x48 tile throughout the house perfectly. Not easy to do. He also did a great job tilling the bathroom walls and floors. The one negative was the rain this year. It slowed things down. To be fair, it probably slowed every project in the city. The work is 90% done. But, we are so excited about how our kitchen and bathrooms came out, that we wanted to write this review. read more

I was very pleased with the end result of the work done overall done by the team working for Aligned construction. We were in a pickle since our original contractor walked out on the job after only 3 months of working. It was very hard to find a contractor that we felt secured and confident they can complete our project of a 2Nd floor addition to our family home. Also hard to find a contractor that would be honest with giving us a good pricing as we were already taken advantage by our first contractor. Meeting Osmin, the owner, he definitely put at easy our concerns and made certain all would be possible. After being previous ripped off by a con artist regarding my steel stud framing, I desperately searched for another contractor to help bring my dream of having a tiny house on wheels to life. We had a leak in our upstairs bathroom and it ruined our kitchen floor. We hired Aligned construction to come and fix the floor, not only did they do a great job with that, but they also gave us some great ideas for our kitchen and basement entrance that they ended up doing for a very reasonable price. 1 year later I hired them to build a patio cover and they were prompt and finished quickly and did a great job. A kitchen remodel to our 1930 house was accomplished by Aligned Construction in late 2014. This was our second major project with Aligned Construction, and like the first, we very much enjoy the result. The first project added a bathroom, walk-in closet, exterior covered porch and laundry room. That project required its own foundation, interiors and roof and is the most solid part of the house. Clever solutions to problems were achieved all through the project. Highlights include a floor-level walk-in shower, a sliding exterior door to the closet, an attic storage space and bowling alley flooring that matches the existing floors. This latest kitchen remodel took out two walls, horrible linoleum flooring, truly uninspired 1930 layout and a section of exterior wall that had been ham-handedly "improved" in the 1960s, and turned it into a thoroughly modern kitchen with great built-in cabinets, new appliances, new over-the-sink window, LED lighting, rebuilt seamless ceiling, strengthened sub-flooring, great waterproof porcelain flooring and all new plumbing and electrical. When Aligned did the first project, they included electrical upgrades that avoided hassles (like $) when the kitchen went in. Osmin Hernandez oversaw his crews throughout the project and made sure every little detail was just right. In a number of cases he offered creative suggestions that did not add cost, but turned problems into solutions. He incorporated all of our designs, wishes and changes with ease and fair prices. This update is long overdue. We used Aligned for a complete down-to-the-studs remodel of a duplex. The building was a California Craftsman and I was looking to bring it back to life and accentuate the craftsman features. Osmin and his crew came through in every detail. I stand by my first review. You get what you pay for and Osmin definitely has a talent for hiring skilled workers. We completely replaced the siding and they installed the new siding with laser-like precision. Not a single crooked piece and the lines carry through as you turn the corners and wrap around the building. We wanted some custom details like a tiled fireplace and floating shelves and again they delivered on every front. Throughout the entire process I was in continual communication with Osmin. I can be a bit of a micromanager but he stayed with me every step of the way. In the end the house came out looking like a life-size doll house - absolutely beautiful. I have worked with this general contractor company two times in the past 6 months. The first was a medium job at my condo to resurface/ the balcony, repair the lighter in my fireplace, replace the electrical panel, and add a ceiling light with new box/wiring. The second time was just yesterday at my personal single family home to replace 3 large patches of rotten wood on my 75sqft balcony. In both cases, what I was impressed most was Aligned Construction's high quality of work. Working with Osmin is working with a professional who is polite and courteous, and he holds every one of his workers to the same standard. They will not do a half-way job and run - they will do it correctly before leaving the worksite. For example, the balcony yesterday had been worked on twice by two "handymen" in the past few years, but every time it has eventually leaked causing to mold. The Aligned Construction work quality was visibly superior as Osmin's associate yesterday spent 8am-5pm to replace and seal the patches. First tip I have in working with this company is that you should be very specific with what you want. Osmin will work with you to get it, and it will align your expectations with the final outcome. Repair work had to be done to my closet from a long standing roof leak. Osmin and his crew were contracted to take care of the issue. Osmins crew is made up of good workers, very professional, and polite. They prepare the work area well and clean up after each day of work. And Osmin, is a great communicator. If I could give them 0 stars I would. This company is highly unethical. Not only did they charge me an arm and leg for a new garage door opener ($700), they refused to return to the property after the system stopped working due to unpaid late fees. Yes, I did pay 2 months late...however, the lateness was a result of miscommunication from the company themselves and my management company. I called and left messages to Alignment regarding payment and when they finally returned my call they said I had to pay the bill through my management company. After everything was said and done, my payment was late...but I feel $300 in late fees is excessive---especially when they never once called me to inquire about payment for invoice or send me advance notice that late fees would be applied. I will NOT use this company again. read more
