Easy to get an appointment, front office manager was clear on explaining my insurance benefits, provider (Dr.David) was professional and very informative on the assessment he did on my neck and back. I came into AMH in desperate need of help. I had severely pulled a calf muscle a month before walking (limping) in and I also had severe back pain. I couldn't sit, sleep and was popping ibuprofen like candy. I was in tears and miserable. I gave them a call and in no time at all Dr. Rejano helped me with an adjustment and some physical therapy. In just a few days I was sleeping through the night and had no need for the ibuprofen. I went back to AMH to help with the therapy of my calf and the pain I was experiencing there. I had been dancing samba for the last year and wanted to continue with my new hobby and just couldn't due to the severity of the full. I also was having a hard time with recovery of all the jumping and weight shifting. Dr. Rejano and his staff got me back in the dance floor. I can't say enough about this office! A few months ago I came to Aligned Modern Health with severe neck pain, just excruciating. I was desperate. They totally fixed me and got me back to normal in a matter of weeks. After a few visits and doing the exercises at home I started noticing a difference. I am admittedly picky about my healthcare and I have had a wonderful experience at Aligned! I started with functional nutrition and later added chiropractic, physical therapy, and massage when I started to have some neck issues show back up. - First of all, did it work? Yes! Functional nutrition addressed my digestive and PMS issues. I seriously don't get cramps anymore, it's amazing. And I can sit all day at work without neck pain! I've had quite a range and history with functional medicine and can confirm aligned is one of the good ones out there. - The Staff: Awesome! I couldn't have asked for more here. I visited Aligned Modern Health on day 1 when the shop in the West Loop opened. From the very first day, the staff were friendly, accommodating and wanted me to have the best experience. I love that Dr. Roberts does X-Rays to consult and diagnose my issues to create a plan. It makes me realize I really do have work to do from poor posture and sitting at a desk all day! Dr. Roberts listens to my feedback on where my pain is and always wants me to walk out feeling better than when I came in. If you ever have any issues -- please tell them! I have never been to a chiropractor before, but after living with jaw pain for several months (and not finding relief from other health care providers), I decided to give it a try. Aligned's west loop office has both a convenient location and schedule for me, and Kelley was very helpful as I started the process of making appointments. Dr. Roberts performed an assessment first, which not only confirmed the nature of my jaw pain but also identified a couple of other problem areas that I just always attributed to bad posture. It didn't take long for me to get past the initial weirdness of letting a stranger move my body parts around because I felt immediate improvements. After several weeks of treatment I am feeling much better (and kicking myself for living with the pain and discomfort for so long). I had my first 2 visits within a 24 hour period of time and to some that may seem a bit overwhelming but Dr. Roberts, Ella and Kelley are all super fantastic and welcoming. (When you're in pain, you don't want to deal with rude people, right?! HUGE plus!) I haven't been into a chiropractor in many many years (big mistake!) so of course, you're always a bit hesitant to try something new, especially when it comes to your body. I was having a lot of pain in what I thought was my lower right back, and I knew I needed to get it figured out! Dr. Roberts took his time with me to do a few tests, take X-rays and review those with me thoroughly. He explained what was going to happen next and each step I felt prepared. He had me come back in the following day to go over things a bit more in detail and took the time to explain other exercises I would need to do at home in addition to what is done in their office. Ella, Kelley and Dr. Roberts all worked with me to make sure I understood exactly how things should be done after I leave! I felt comfortable leaving and understanding what I need to do moving forward. Unfortunately, this office location isn't as convenient for me so I'm switching to their Southport location ( I live in the Southport Corridor, that's too easy to not go there!) but I wish I wasn't! After moving to Chicago, I had a hard time trusting a new Chiropractor. I went to one down the street from my apartment and decided they weren't as satisfactory as I would like. I thought about giving up on the notion and managing my back/shoulder pain on my own, but then came across Aligned on my walk home from work. I decided to give it a shot and was immediately impressed by their completely holistic approach to pain management. It is like nothing I've seen in a while. I went to see Dr. Rejano after re-injuring my lower back doing deadlifts. This wasn't my first time seeing a chiropractor but this is the first time I've been happy with my experience. I was referred by a coworker and decided to go in since their office was conveniently located close to my office. I went in just desperate for some pain relief and got a lot more than I expected. Dr. Rejano was so kind and down to earth and I really felt like he had my best interest in mind as opposed to trying to push all these services on me like I've experienced with other chiropractors. The same holds true for the entire staff. I always looked forward to going in. Dr. Rejano told me I would be doing deadlifts again and back to normal within a month's time, which felt impossible, but he was right. My treatment was a combination of adjustments with Dr. Rejano and PT. They worked to fix my existing back condition AND taught me skills to prevent further injury. They structured my PT around my goals at the gym and lifestyle. It's been about a month since I finished treatment and my workouts have changed completely. I had been having plantar fasciitis pain in my feet for nearly two years that just wouldn't go away. I went to Aligned earlier this year to try and get better so I could get back into distance running. The team put a custom plan together which blended PT, alignment, and massage therapy, and within a few weeks I was seeing dramatic improvements. I'm now back up to running 10 miles and pretty much pain free. Team was always a pleasure to work with - fun, optimistic, but also knew how to push me when I needed it for my own improvement. I was treated by Dr. Rejano, Seyi, Tyna, and Carrie. I worked with them for approximately 4 months, during which time they helped me alleviate the muscle spasms I suffered from (details at the end of this review) and back into my very active life-style. My issues were pretty severe: I suffered from upper-back and neck spasms that were being caused by compressed discs and a weak mid back and core. I have had these issues for 4 years now. The spasms can take up to 4-5 days to alleviate, during which time I was effectively in bed rest and taking strong pain killers. The therapy involved a combination of manipulations, physical therapy, and massage. I met with them twice every week, which eventually was limited to just once a week. I am now on their once a month check up program. The program that Aligned developed for me was custom built for my issue, my fitness level at the time and as it evolved, my goals, and my schedule. Aligned changed my life. The group of people at Aligned that I worked with are on top of their game. They have complete command over their area of expertise, know how to motivate and work with clients (who can be stubborn), and genuinely foster an atmosphere of goodwill and support. I used to look forward to the weekly appointments, which isn't something I can say about my other experiences related to my condition. They became my friends, and I really look forward to going in for my monthly checkups and catching up with them. I am now in the best shape I have been in years. I am going to the gym 4 times a week, playing tennis for two hours a week, and rock climbing once a week. Before my treatment I was unable to do any of the above activities without being in severe pain. Without the team at Aligned this wouldn't have happened. I think its fair to say that going to Aligned changed my life. Central to the treatment that Aligned gave me was the education I received. The team taught me about how my spine is meant to work, where the issues were, what was causing the issues, and how to manage the situation whenever it arises again. The education came from Dr. Rejano, as well as the physiotherapists. The physio sessions were fantastic. While they are trying to build your strength and mobility, I think their main emphasis is to teach you, and build the muscle memory, for exercises that you need to keep doing outside your weekly/monthly sessions at Aligned. I re-learned how to do squats, deadlifts, supermans, a whole spectrum of excruciating core workouts (which I now see are essential to your body), and stretches (in particular shoulder stretches for me). Whenever issues have arisen since my intense treatment at Aligned finished I have been able to adjust my workout, and do the right stretches and strength training exercises to tame the issue and get back to full fitness. This is all based on the understanding of how my spine works that I acquired at Aligned. As I have said earlier in this review, Aligned changed my life. Carrie is amazing at making sure you come in for your weekly appointments, and not judgmental if you miss one. Aligned was incredibly flexible with my busy schedule, and was happy to accommodate changes. All that being said, you have to commit. What Aligned provides, in my opinion, isn't a treatment where you go in and come out with a changed body. The team at Aligned provided me with the tools and knowledge you need to live a more active and pain-free life. They can't make you do what your body needs -- that was on me. For me this required a complete rethinking of how I work out (form over weight), what strength even means (its all about core), and my posture throughout my day and night (protect those discs). You guys are awesome! I've never been to a chiropractor or done any physical therapy, but Aligned was down the block from my office so I got a same-day appointment. Kelley made all of the billing type stuff very easy with insurance etc. Doc Roberts fixed my wacky back and Tim and Ella showed me some good exercises. Massages from Jason/Kari were a great alternative to sitting at my desk doing work. I worked with Dr. Rejano for about 6 weeks to eliminate the neck and upper back pain that I was experiencing. I have been going to Aligned Modern Health for couple of months, was treated by Dr. Rejano, Tyna, Seyi, continue acupuncture sessions with Demetrios. Everybody there are amazing! Carrie who makes appointments for me and takes care of the financial part is very accommodating and friendly. I am doing a ballroom and latin competitive dancing and training 4-5 days a week for past 2 years. As exciting and rewarding this hobby is, doing it at the middle age is definitely has an impact on your body especially legs - hips, knees, feet, toes, ankles. The treatments helps me, I feel much better, less pain and recovery time is faster. I'm very dissatisfied with the service. Hehmeyer is not a medical doctor and did not diagnose me correctly. She is a nurse and chiropractor and I don't understand why she even entitles herself as a doctor. She assumed I had SIBO and gave me treatment for this. I suggested if I should seek a second opinion. She recommended not to go and that she is a doctor. I spent the entire summer for 3 month on a diet for SIBO. Until I was very ill and went to urgent care. In 5 mins the doctor at Physician Immediate Care diagnosed me for H pylori. I could have treated this months ago. Instead I wasted my time and money which impacted my health. I do not trust the staff at Aligned and do not recommend it to others. read more

I've suffered from lower back spasms off and on for 10 years. I've gone twice to see Dr. Rejano and the staff at AMH. They showed me the "McKenzie" stretch. In all the years I've visited chiropractors, massage therapists, Rolfers, you name it, no one has ever shown me that, and it has helped immensely. This place has a different vibe from any chiropractic office I've ever visited (and I've seen a lot). It's young, high-energy and actually fun. I feel like they are my friends. The staff here is absolutely AMAZING. Very knowledgeable and professional. I waddled in 9 months pregnant with lower back pain and just overall very tired. After a few stretches and concluding my session in a few adjustments, I walked out feeling like a new woman. My pain was gone and so was the waddle. Needless to say I definitely went back where I received a few more adjustments and did more stretching. All of this occurred just in time for me to have the baby. Dr Jason and Team are absolute miracle workers! I injured my back snowboarding and really struggled to function in my day to day routine. I was so uncomfortable sleeping, sitting and standing. I had never seen a chiropractor before but liked the location of their office, Carrie was so friendly and kind was able to get me in SAME DAY to see Dr Jason. By the end of my first visit, I had a full wellness plan with prescheduled appointments. This was huge for me being a busy working mom! Within 2 weeks I felt 70% better and my wellness plan was adjusted from pain relief to strengthening and preventing injuries in the future. Rarely in life have I been such a happy customer. I came into the clinic for a strained TFL (hip muscle). I am very active and count exercise among the chief joys in life, so injuries produce a lot of anxiety for me. I have some crazy health issues. I have a spinal fusion and scoliosis. I had a couple of bike accidents which left me with a plate and 7 screws in my shoulder as well as lingering back and neck pain. I also have plantar fasciitis. And, I was not willing to cut out triathlon training. So, I gave them quite a challenge. And they completely exceeded my expectations! They created a treatment plan for me which included weekly massage, chiropractic and physical therapy work. They focused on a lot of core work (much to my dismay!) to help improve my overall training and never once told me to stop or cut back on what I was doing. I told them what my workouts consisted of and when my races were and they focused on getting me through them and across the finish line. This year I was able to cut 35 minutes off my race time with minimal pain. I am never going to live pain free, but they are teaching me tools which will help me minimize my pain long term. They have continued to amend my treatment plan as new issues come up and focus on what my major issues are each week. I was close to giving up on endurance sports, but thanks to the team at AMH, I think I might actually be able to continue pushing my body to the limit for a few more years! read more

Sometimes this requires a leap of faith (be prepared for a slew of new supplements with odd-sounding names) but you won't need the blood workups to prove the benefits they'll have on your health, energy and outlook, and at no time did she ever mention the word 'diet,' being hungry, or suggest any kind of unrealistic regime. I went to the west loop office for some physical therapy and chiropractic adjustments for my neck and middle back. I think I went there for a couple of months because it was close to work. I am kind of disappointed as I don't really think it helped me much, I wanted to continue going there but after a couple of months Dr. Rejano gave me a lecture on how my insurance would not cover me any longer for continued visits and closed my case. The gal at the front desk who said she was the office manager, was not all that nice. I called a couple of weeks ago for an appointment for a chiropractic adjustment, and the same girl said, well my case was closed, so I would have to pay like $75.00, I said my co pay was only $50.00. She gave me some snappy answer back. So I have gone back to my previous chiropractor and should never have left him in the first place. I feel like I wasted my time and money here. read more

I was really skeptical about PT for my knee injury, but working with Seyi and Tyna was beyond just PT, they pushed and strengthened and made me work to get stronger. When I came in Aligned Modern Health I was in pain, nervous and very skeptical. I was not sure if anyone there could really help me. I been dealing with pain back off and on for about a year. But the pain had recently gotten worst just before the New Year. Now, I've walked pass Aligned Modern Health numerous of times to buy food on my lunch breaks--always telling myself that one day I would drop in to finally do something about my aches and pains.
